I've read that 4 times and i can't make any sense of it. Are they saying Itunes will offer a pre-order for a Digital CD? That means you purchase the entire CD at Itunes as a pre-order and on the day of release nationwide, on the 6th of May, the songs will appear on a person's Itunes library including the bonus song if purchased within a certain period of time? Is THAT what the note from RCA is trying to say?? They made a distinction between the physical CD at Amazon and the Digital CD at Itunes that goes directly to a fan's computer.

Jerry ~ yes that's correct.  Its a preorder just like you would do with Amazon only instead of getting an actual physical CD you get the download of the album plus the bonus track but not until the release date of May 6th.

The sales should count but it's hard to tell. I've never paid much attention to Billboard's chart policies when it comes to sales from a TV show. I don't think they'd be counted toward his official sales that are tabulated at Billboard magazine because the sales aren't via SoundScan...sales from a TV show or sales from a TV commercial with a phone number to call are sales from direct marketing...but who's to say? The Amazon sales and anyother sales from on-line merchants are counted on the Billboard charts. The sales ranking on Amazon reflects how popular a CD is with sales...from Amazon customers only. Amazon doesn't rate their CD's based on how many copies sell on a TV show.

Deep down i thought so because Barry Manilow's IN THE SWING OF CHRISTMAS was sold on QVC and those sales were added in with the sales everywhere else...so that's why i didn't give her a yes or no answer.

QVC is a home shopping channel.  That is the station (QVC = Quality, Value, Convenience).  It will be on 4/28/08 from 7-7:30pm Eastern.

You will have to check your cable line-up to see if you have the channel. Although it's a standard channel in a lot of cable companies, there is also a similar channel called Home Shopping Network that cable providers carry instead of or with QVC. The two stations are similar.
