BeadforLife is a Foundation committed to social responsibility and sustainable international development. Working with the women of the Acholi and other displaced tribes in the area around Kampala, we have created living wages for over 150 families, and developed community projects to help overcome the destruction of poverty, war and HIV/Aids.
The beautiful handmade bead jewelry created by the women in our community is carefully selected for the highest quality of colorful necklaces, bracelets, anklets and chokers. We know you will enjoy them, while helping build a heartfelt bridge between Uganda and the citizens of North America.
BEAD FOR LIFEClay fans have already jumped in to help with this project:
A wonderful group of people have been helping the beaders this year! In 2005, Clay Aiken - the famous American Idol star - visited Uganda in his role as Unicef Ambassador for Education.
When this led his fans to Beadforlife they started signing up for Beadwear parties, holding them at Clay's Pre-Concert parties across the US and Canada. These have been a huge success, and have raised not only people's awareness of the situation in Uganda, but also have provided thousands of dollars into the beader's communities.
