I'm very confused.

Now, as far as I know, tickets (presale or general public) for the show in Pittsburgh have not gone on sale.

I was surfing gettix.com, a ticket broker site.

Naturally, I search for Clay Aiken.

What pops up? Some of the concert dates, one of which happens to be Pittsburgh.

There are a host of tickets available, but I'm not entirely sure how these brokers got ahold of them already.

Could these be member tickets? This whole things is very confusing and frustrating.

More ticket stress tomorrow!

Here is more ticket info that I found:

Info on the Beacon Theater via MsMarmalade at the CH via the CB:

QUOTE ("Ms Marmalade")
From the CB:

QUOTE
Row AA-DD is the very 1st 4 rows, then it will be row A-Z, meaning Row A is actually row 5 from stage.
The center section will be seat #101-114.
The right center will be seat 2-28 (even#)
The left center will be seat 1-27 (odd #)
There are some far right seating from row J-Z seat 30-54
Also far left seating from row J-Z seat 29-53
I think all the above are Orchestra level(floor).

Lindsay, I went to that site and looked, and they even have specific seat numbers already.  Wow.

Many of the smaller concert halls do have subscription programs, especially if the symphony's home is located there.  So, if brokers buy memberships, or subscriptions, then they will have season tickets or access to seating prior to general public sales.

Otherwise, who really knows what kind of "deals" the brokers have with these venues -- could be anything.  It's unfortunate, and oh yeah, it sucks.

I've been getting some emails and reading about some of our frustrations, and I wanted to put some info about presales in general.

The purpose of a fan club presale is not to make the best seats available to the fan club members before the general public steps in.  The purpose is to insure that a representative number of fan club members get seats, period.  It's possible that if all tickets went on sale at a specific time to everyone, a show could sell out without any fan club members getting seats at all, especially in a small venue in a large market, such as the Tweeter Center.

The available seating for a fan club presale will be in all sections of the venue; including the first ten rows, the rear orchestra, the sides and the boxes.  The idea is that a percentage of venue seating (say 10%) is set aside for fan club members prior to the general sale.  It's just a perk, not a guarantee of a close seat. I wanted to clear that up, because many people think the fan club seating is always the best seats, and that's not necessarily the case.

Unfortunately!

Clandykins - They've changed that! Per the home page of the OFC:

Quote
10/05/05 / Joyful Noise 2005 Pre-Sales REVISED
Join the Official Clay Aiken Fanclub for access to pre-sale tickets to a Joyful Noise 2005 concert near you!

We have confirmed pre-sales for the following Clay Aiken Joyful Noise Tour performances:

Date City Venue

November 27 Youngstown Convocation Center

Pre-sales for ALL dates listed above begin Thursday, October 6th at 10 a.m. local venue time. Please note that the the presale for 11/27 - Youngstown, OH ends on the SAME DAY, Thursday, October 6th at 10 p.m. All other pre-sales end Friday, October 7th at 10 p.m. local venue time.

Pamela - I didn't stick around that site long enough to see there were specific seats. eek! That's just absolutely crazy! Man, I'd be the nicest ticket broker ever. I would never want to sell them to people for a horribly high price. That's probably why I'm not one. Laughing

Marilyn - I just got off the phone with ticketmaster and they said they just got word in that the presale has been postponed.  He said it might happen tomorrow instead, but to keep checking back!

I can't stay on, just wanted to let you know what I heard.

SOOOOOO many glitches....I fear for Team Clay, Ticketmaster and/or the OFC!!!  Whomever's fault, ooooo I have a feeling the wrath will be upon them!  Okay, I was in at like 10:00 and two seconds, neither of the two front sections had tix singles or doubles....I guess since it is at a casino, maybe for their highrollers?????  Be that as it may, the tix I got are decent...BETTER THAN LAST YEAR AT LEAST!!!!!

Will you all hate me if I tell you I've decided I want to be a ticket broker when I grow up?

They must be rolling in the $$.   I mean excuse me, but there should be a law against ticket extortion.  But, there isn't.

Great job Muffy!!   Clapping  Yes that is 6th row (2 rows behind pit!).   Cheer!  It seems that when TM FINALLY put up those NYC tickets they were VERY good tix and some are suspecting that us fans may have finally got those brokers tickets before they did!  They did take the NYC fanclub sale down for a short period and when it came back up the seats weren't good at all, not like they were.  But needless to say, there were ALOT of the good seats sold to FANS and not to the brokers during that short time.  Glad you got in when you did, Marilyn!!

You know, I'm sorry but this is so very, very wrong!!!

I'm serious. We've got to do something about it. I say we start a class action lawsuit! Get fans from all different artists together and force these brokers to stop. I mean seriously there are laws in every state governing ticket brokers! They aren't allowed to charge a certain amount over the original price of these tickets! It's just simply not fair!

Now there's a section 8? Where the heck did that come from? They're making it up as they go along.

And then ticketmaster locked me out! I can't even go to the main page! I get the following message:

Quote
Connection was refused when trying to contact www.ticketmaster.com

I was searching for tickets. Search for just Floor seats and it comes up nothing available, but search for best available and Floor sections 8 and 9 keep popping up.

What the heck! And not once during the pre-sale or now did Floor 1-3 appear...yet as Pamela has shown the ticket brokers were more than able to get them all.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGH!

It really ticks me off. First of all complete sections aren't available for us to get and THEN they just start arbitrarily ADDING sections DURING the ticket sale! That just isn't right. It just screams WRONG! WRONG! WRONG!!!!

There's something stinky going on at Ticketmonster.
