A double play charitable opportunity.  Purchase reduced price tickets to benefit the ONE organization and Live8 and send someone to a concert who wouldn't normally be able to attend.

Note: I don't know Pamela Like, so everyone will have to use their best judgement when making the decision to participate in this effort.

As you probably know, 4 of Clay's summer concert venues are offering lawn/concourse tickets during this holiday weekend for only $18 to benefit THE ONE CAMPAIGN in conjunction with the Live 8 event. An easy way to spread the message of irradicating global poverty & disease is to start at home - your neighborhood, town, city, state, country. And as
dedicated Clay Aiken fans, what better way to spread joy than to give
the gift of Clay!

Here in Boston, there are several homeless family centers, battered
women's shelters & schools for the disabled serving clients who would be
thrilled to experience an evening under the stars with OMC! At the Bank
Of America Pavilion, where Clay will perform on August 28, there are 200
seats in the concourse behind the main tent. That is 5 seats per table,
20 tables on each side. Although the view of the stage isn't great,
there are screens in back so everyone can see the Aiken up close. There
are also waiters who serve drinks & snacks throughout the show, &
smoking is allowed. Wouldn't it be wonderful if we could fill up the
entire concourse with needy folks who don't normally get the opportunity
for such stellar entertainment?

Starting this morning, Saturday, July 2 at 9 a.m. EST & continuing
through midnight on Monday, July 4, the concourse tickets will be on
sale for $18. You can purchase them at the BOA Pavilion box office, any
TicketMaster retail outlet, at http://www.ticketmaster.com/ or by phone
at 617-931-2000 or 508-931-2000. If you would like to donate a seat or
seats to this project, please mail your tickets to:

HomeFair for Live 8
c/o Pamela Like
150 Leyden St.
Boston, MA 02128

Please include an email addy, your screen name & home board if you
choose, & tell us whether or not you'll be at the show. You will get an
email acknowledgement of your gift as soon as it is received. After the
show, you'll be mailed a personal thank you from the recipient(s) of
your generosity, so make sure to send your mailing address, too. I will
also try to get to Clay at the concert a list of everyone who
contributed, so he can once again be amazed by his fabulous fans!

There are 3 other Clay shows that are offering the same discount for the
benefit of Live 8 this weekend. They are:

7/30/05 - Darien Lake Performing Arts Center. Darien, NY
7/31/05 - Chevrolet Amphitheatre At Station Square, Pittsburgh, PA
8/12/05 - Meadow Brook Music Festival, Rochester Hills, MI

It would be terrific if someone from these areas would take the
initiative & coordinate a similar project for their discounted
lawn/concourse seats. Imagine the publicity if Clay's Live 8 tickets
were the only ones to completely sell out across the country!

Ticketmaster convenience charges have been reduced for these specially
priced tickets & all venue box offices have agreed to waive ticket
charges. Quantities are limited everywhere.

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR LOVING DONATION!

Whakatane Idol fanatic admits Aiken obsession
By ABIGAIL CASPARI in Rotorua

Self-confessed Clay Aiken fanatic Whakatane's Helena Hannah will only go as far as saying she is "just about obsessed" with the American singing sensation.

However, if she is being "completely honest" the runner-up of American Idol II is her favourite topic of discussion.

During a trip to the United States last year she met Aiken and went to six of his concerts at a cost of about NZ$100 each.

(snip)

"The first thing that grabbed me was the voice of course.

"Once I started to find out a little more about him he seemed like a nice person, not a manufactured image."

Helena is not the only New Zealand fan, having met at least 20 others with whom she made contact through a fan website - claytonaiken.com.

She plans to remain a loyal Clay fan to the end - well at least until the end of his music career - but for partly selfish reasons.

"I've got all these new friends and I can't see myself giving up that. It's not just about him now."

(c)NZ DAILY POST

This is especially cool to me because I met Helena at the Greensboro NAT last year.  She and a friend came from New Zealand to attend several concerts.

I found this map that shows where Clay's fans are located:

http://www.globaldust.com/music/detail.php?id=6996&PHPSESSID=e7d4c724b9fad5d39227267665fc5a7f

This might explain why he's only touring the east of North America.

BTW, can you see those dots on the east coast in the south of South America? The lower one is Buenos Aires. The upper one is... Rosario!!!!!!
*wonders if it's a spill, a spot, a mistake... prefers to think differently:*

I'm in the map. Ergo, I exist.
