They're good, but how do Carrie and Bo stack up to previous idols and their first releases? So far, no one has matched the success of the first American Idol, Kelly Clarkson: she currently has two multi-platinum albums under her belt and continues to be a favorite for music fans across the world.

Second season runner-up Clay Aiken is faring better than his counterpart, Idol Ruben Studdard, having a triple platinum album and the only single to go platinum since 2002 ("Bridge Over Troubled Water"). Fantasia Barrino, last season's idol, released her debut album "Free Yourself" last November, which has since gone platinum.

It seems that this season's Idols are set for success. Judging from all the hype surrounding her, Carrie seems poised to be the most successful Idol since Kelly Clarkson, but can she do it? Only time will tell. VanderKolk, out!

Well, it's simple, really.

According to the inimitable Ryan Seacrest---who, admittedly, during his AI tenure has had a few probs with numbers (remember him not knowing exactly how many zeroes were on the number of votes separating Ruben Studdard and Clay Aiken in AI2?)---the top three finalists, Bo, Carrie and Vonzell, were only 2% apart before the finale

A comment from a humble Clay fan from South America:
If Argentina is still part of the world - it actually was last time I checked - the underlined words are mistaken. Kelly is unknown here.

The world is much bigger than some people think.
