With a capacity of 7,000 people, general admission tickets are always available for the lawn and some concerts offer Gold Circle or Table Seating.

Tickets are on sale now through the box office and Ticketmaster for concerts by Aretha Franklin, Mary Chapin Carpenter, An Evening With The Grand Ole Opry, O.A.R. and Clay Aiken. A full concert and event schedule is available on the amphitheatre's Web site at amphitheatreatregencypark.com.

Soul Free?
By Paul Curry
Is there life after "American Idol" for rocker Bo Bice? According to Rolling Stone, things don't look so good as former "Idol" runners-up have scored mixed track records. Clay Aiken sold more than 3 million CDs, but Justin Guarini and Diana DeGarmo (who?) have fallen off the radar.

America overdoses on reality television
By MICHELLE FLOYD
Published , June 09, 2005, 06:00:01 AM EDT

“Reality” television is ridiculously out of control (beyond the point of getting out of control) and is taking over television.(snip)

But even “American Idol” carries a warning that voting results may be changed by production. So I’m sure Clay Aiken really won the second season.

The Greatest American Ever field has been winnowed to the Top 25, who will be celebrated in a special Sunday night at 9. Judging from some who made the cut, it's a wonder Amber Frey, Clay Aiken and the recently disclosed Deep Throat aren't among the finalists.

Circus brings 'neat stuff' to town next week
Friday, June 10, 2005
By LAWRENCE SPECKER
(snip)
Another newcomer seems to be in agreement. Like Venardos, singer Jennifer Fuentes had an unconventional path to the circus life.

In the second season of "American Idol" she made it to the field of 30 finalists. The season was dominated by Clay Aiken and eventual winner Ruben Studdard, but Fuentes did get a share of nationwide TV exposure

Idol Thoughts, June 13: Bo Bice News, Idol Chartwatch, and More
by Donna Reynolds -- 06/13/2005

Donna has been keeping an eye on all things Idol, and is back this week with Billboard chart information and much more. One Idol is about to be featured in Rolling Stone magazine. Can you guess which one? (snip)

Idol Tidbits

There is news this week that Clay Aiken will be opening a summer camp for disabled children in North Concord, NC. The camp, named “Camp Gonzo,” will be run by Cannon Memorial YMCA and the Bubel/Aiken Foundation. In his book, Learning to Sing, Clay wrote that when he was a camp counselor, he was upset that kids with disabilities weren’t allowed to enroll because they didn’t have trained staff or special equipment. “Camp Gonzo,” which takes its name from Clay’s nickname, will enable these kids to participate fully in the camp experience.

Deanna,

I love the banner.  I am glad they added the picture of him
looking down and then the one of him smiling.  That was
a great combination.  I would love a poster just like that.

Thank you.  Hope all is well.

Nice write-up too.

An evening with Clay Aiken

PITTSBURGH, PA- CLAY AIKEN will be at the Chevrolet Amphitheatre at Station Square on Sunday, July 31 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets for regular reserved seats are $49.50, $34.50; a limited number of general admission tickets are just $25.00. Tickets go on-sale Monday, June 6 at 10 AM. Tickets purchased at the Chevrolet Amphitheatre box office at Station Square in advance Monday through Friday do not include a service charge. Tickets purchased at outlets, on-line, and by phone are applicable to service charges.

CLAY AIKEN started singing on top of the rugs at Sears when he was three years old in Raleigh, North Carolina to lighting up stages all over the world today. Clay is most recognized for his whimsical performances on American Idol, turning heads and capturing audiences by storm. Since then, Clay's debut CD, Measure of a Man, was called 'the best pop album of 2003' by Billboard. Certified triple-platinum, that first album includes 'This Is the Night,' the best-selling single of 2003, and 'Invisible,' an airplay hit at top 40 radio. Prior to Clay’s success he enrolled in college, music took the back seat. He studied special education and worked with individuals with autism.

Clay planned his life out: he would teach for six years and then go to William & Mary to get a Masters Degree. He figured by the time he was 50; he would be a high school principal. It didn't quite work out that way. The television series was just the beginning of Clay Aiken's career. Aiken's awards and achievements make for a very long list. Among the highlights: he won an American Music Award and a Billboard Music Award; he was musical guest on 'Saturday Night Live' and appeared as himself in an episode of NBC-TV's 'Ed'; he graduated from UNC Charlotte with a degree in special education; and he still managed to devote a lot of his time to The Bubel/Aiken Foundation, which he created to foster inclusion of children with special needs. He is a bona fide success on the charts, on the road and in the hearts of millions of devoted fans.
