Very often you may hear the rallying cry of "we want a concert DVD!" from the masses that make up ClayNation. Wouldn't that be fun?!?
Someone told me once that due to copyright issues, a singer could perform a song live without seeking rights, but to put the material on a CD or a DVD would require that permission be given and possibly royalties to be paid.
It made me wonder about how they are always talking on American Idol about "getting the rights" to sing the songs on the show. But anyway, I did find this website that explains things a bit.
I wonder if we never got a concert DVD due to the legalities of recording and releasing copyrighted material. However, it can be done. Perhaps it was cost prohibitive, or permission could not be obtained.
Or, maybe they just want to wait until more of the material is Clay's own. Here's the article - check it out. It's kind of interesting.
