I am having a hard time registering at the new place. I have a pm into Michael now.
I am so sorry we have so many that are not up to par here. I'll bet news of a close for all of us concert would make us all feel better.I know it would make me feel all better.
It will be 3 weeks Tuesday since my surgery and I can honestly say I am getting worse and not better. I can not wait till the 29th to see the surgeon and have him explain what the heck is going on. My neck hurts!!!!!!! Mostly what is really upsetting me is that my arm hurts worse than it did. I am praying there is a reason and that it can be fixed.
Sorry to complain when so many here are not well. I just would like a little relief. Shirley, between you and I  we should join forces and kick this pains butt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO POST.  HERE, THERE, EVERYWHERE?

BARRY IS BACK IN BED.  HE IS SO OUT OF IT FROM THE MEDS.  HE DID GET A SHOWER AND SHAVE T DAY.  THANK GOD I THOUGHT OF GETTING A SHOWER CHAIR.  HE CAME DOWN STAIRS FOR THE DAY AND I THINK IT WAS A BIT TOO MUCH FOR ONE DAY.  HIS BROTHER AND WIFE CAME TO SEE HIM AND BROUGHT SUBS FROM ATLANTIC CITY.  BARRY'S FAVORITE FOOD.  HE ATE BUT NOT NEARLY HOW HE USUALLY DOES.  HE DOESN'T WANT TO EAT OR DRINK.  JUST SLEEP.  SO, I AM JUST GIVING HIM MEDS.  HAVING HIM MOVE AROUND.  I CANNOT WAIT UNTIL HE CAN TAKE CELLEBREX AND CAN STOP THE VALIUM.  GEEZ, WHY DO PEOPLE WANT THESE DRUGS?  YOU CAN'T HAVE A LIFE.  ANYWAY, WE ARE ALIVE.

It does , but with the ANN each News Team member (or anyone who helped her that day) will be shown as the person who made the post anyway - at least I think this informaion will show up?) I guess there is no way to avoid the present poster's name from showing up on the outside of the Thread.  Shirl thinks that if we put the year first - as in 2010 AIKEN NEWS NETWORK January 1 - the date will line up correctly, no matter when it was posted. I hope she is right about this. She said it works with her personal files on her computer - maybe Michael does not have things set up like this, though. In the past, ANN threads have moved out of place as soon as someone posts in them - even months afterward. I will try the dates both ways to see what happens.

I think entire pages will be able to be highlighted, copied, and pasted at one time. (At least I hope so!)

I hope we will be able to delete on the "test site". I will make errors at first, I know, and I would like to get it right.

Just copied June and July 2008 - I'm on Page 18.

EDIT - August and September 2008 Copied - I'm on Page 16, but am about to take a break.

From the CH:

QUOTE ("Pink Armchair")
I had this conversation about the show with my pledge director last week. After filling him in about my adventures ("This stuff could only happen to you!" he said), I told him I thought it was one of the best performances of this type that I had ever seen. He laughed and said, "C'mon now...you've seen a thousand of these [I probably have] -- what made this one stand out? The band? The song choices? The production values? How was this one special?"

The voice, I said. I tried to describe it and found I couldn't without sounding like a lunatic. It's a combination of the power and timbre and frequency of the sound and the way it hits your senses. Like a big bite of the best chocolate ever, or the sound of a baby laughing, or (okay, I'm dating myself here) the wave of euphoria that hits you when that Thai stick you're smoking kicks in. That's the best way I can describe it, I said, and it still doesn't really do it justice. How does it hit you like a freight train while tugging at your emotions at the same time? How does he do that?

Add that to the sparkly copper aura around him (am I the only one who sees it?) and his quick wit and sidesplitting humor, and he's really unbeatable. (And the visual ain't bad, either. *g*) Many people have one or some of these qualities, but I've never seen anyone else who had it ALL. And there's never been a recording or clack or a TV appearance that has truly captured what it's like to be in the same room with him LIVE. I'm really, really hoping that this special finally does that. The rest of the world needs to see what WE see.

When I finished telling my pledge director this, he was shaking his head and grinning. "Boy," he said, "you're far gone, aren't you?" Then he leaned forward and said eagerly, "Tell me how much those VIP packages went for again!"

Philistine. *sigh*

If you’re a fan of shmaltz, 60’s music, and/or Clay Aiken, Raleigh Memorial Auditorium would have been a magical place to be on Friday, March 12.

Last summer, Clay Aiken’s recording contract with RCA ran out, and label and artist mutually decided not to continue together. Instead, Clay made the move to Decca records, home of such classic artists as Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Judy Garland, and Billie Holiday.

Now Clay is preparing for the release of his fifth studio album, tentatively titled Tried and True, a compilation of 60’s covers. As a part of the celebration of his album release, sometime this summer, PBS will be featuring a concert of Clay’s new music. Though the show will not air until around the time of the release, the actual concert took place on the previously mentioned date. Anyone who was lucky enough to be there, whether they were from the Raleigh area or they had to travel in for the occasion, knows what an amazing evening Clay had in store for his fans.

The set list ranged from the up tempo beats of “Mack the Knife” (with such an amazingly huge, long, perfect last note that it moved the audience to a standing ovation as soon as the first number concluded), “Eso Beso,” “Suspicious Minds,” and “Build Me Up Buttercup” to the slower, simpler side of Clay with “Misty,” “Moonriver,” “In My Life,” and “Unchained Melody” (with a jaw dropping climax in which Clay hit a note that seemed to redefine the meaning of the verb “to sing”). There were flashy lights, lots of smoke, and chandeliers that descended from the ceiling to change the atmosphere before certain songs.

Front and center was Clay’s amazing voice, but coming in a close second was his big heart. This showed up early on in the night when, after the first five numbers, Clay came into the audience looking for Sandy Schmidt. Ms. Schmidt had taken four busses over a 36 hour period from Nebraska, traveling all by herself just to see Clay again. After receiving word of this from her friends, Clay personally escorted Sandy to the front row.

Good Afternoon Everyone,

Mom  has taken 2 of my pain pills and it helped a "wee" bit.  It is the same type and dosage they gave her several years ago but didn't work.  We both "looked" at my bottle and her old one to make sure.  We did find out that both bottles said that you may take 2 at one time! Wish we had read that  before not only for Mom's sake but mine during the week my foot hurt!
Mom just walked into the office.  She is wrapped up in a white robe that Skip and Prissy bought her from an Air Force Base when  we all went to the Grand Canyon together.
This is a nice, thick winter robe but she has worn it all day.  She is trying to walk around a little bit every so often to help exercise her legs.  Hopefully she will feel better tomorrow.  In a couple of hours, she will be able to take 2 more of my pain pills.   I get one more refill before 9-30-10, so I'm going to refill this week to have them for her in case we can't get the Morphine before her appointment with her new doctor.  The law will not allow a call in  for Morphine, I have  to hand them the actual prescription in person and the only reason they allow me to hand it  in with  Mom's  name on it, they know who I am.

ANN - April 2008 and May 2008 Copied. I'm on Page 20

Michelle - did you see my question above about dating the Anns? I just found An October 2007 post right in the middle of May 2008  Also, since most of the ANN dates are being saved in "HTML only", how are they to be saved? Will we copy and paste, or will they transfer over by a right click (I guess I need to go see what happens when I try to post something.) I assume we will be typing in the Title and date of each??? Where will we put original Poster's name? (Maybe I will see that when I move a post over). If Philly moves a thread from 2010 and I put one from 2003 in later, what will happen - will the 2003 go to the back as it should???

You will be recreating the thread but the post time will determine the order. If you create a thread for a date in 2007 and someone else goes in after you and creates a thread for 2005 it will be above the 2007 date because of when it was posted.

Your idea for the year being listed first is a good one.

When you recreate a thread you will have to do it one post at a time. Copy/pasting each individual post. You will need to include the poster's username and original post date as part of the body of your post.

For example:

Claymaniac username posted this on April 17, 2004

Does that make sense?

The fruit trees are in beautiful bloom, robins are hopping around the back yard looking for worms, and it is SNOWING!!!!! I would take a photo if I thought the snow would show up! It probably will not stick (It might - it is so cold out there!) but it looks so funny coming down this time of year.

Pepe - I just frosted a German chocolate cake - coconut/pecan frosting, of course. No need t punish the husband just because I am trying to lose weight. I'm also making a pot of coffee - come on down! Love those Yorkies - I think Tuff would attack a bear. Both of the boys look awful - their groomer broke her ankle - don't know whether to try a new groomer, or just wait.

JoAnn - I always say I am going to keep the ledger up to date, too - but I get behind sometimes.

Carol -  Clapping for getting on the new site.

Prissy - I am going to start moving some things over to the new site after Michelle gets a couple of questions answered - I'm trying to avoid having to post more than once!

Glory - a nap sounds wonderful!

Back to the ANN - Philly is helping - we are meeting in the middle! Less than 20 pages left!  Clapping

I'm going to go frost a cake that just came out of the oven - if all of you want to come on down, we can eat cake and discuss this in person - I'm warning you, though - it is snowing here again!!! (Third time this winter!!!)  Jaw drop!
