Title: IT'S ALMOST OVER...PLEASE EXPLAIN
Post by: Her on April 14, 2004, 03:06:07 AM
As Clay & Kelly's Independent Tour is nearing its close, I thought it'd be fun for all the lucky and blessed concertgoers to share one sentence about their experience.

Here's mine...

AN UNIMAGINABLE, TOTALLY EARTHSHATTERING, ETHEREAL EXPERIENCE that I want to do again and again and again!

An almost out-of-body, totally in the moment, experience that was filled with total joy and brings a private, only another Claygirl would understand, twinkle to my eye everytime I think of it.

:D Clay's performances (like everything he does) turned each concert on the tour into a family-oriented "joy-fest"...The outpouring of love in the arena (at the two concerts I attended) was palpable...My husband cried at the end of "Open Arms"...Clay absolutely exudes joy and you can't help but be taken along with him...Sue G.

Title: FIRST concert in Charlotte!
Post by: Clayton Clayniac on April 14, 2004, 04:58:59 PM
(From Clay's glorious entrance through the crowd to the final notes of Open Arms and seeing Clay and Kelly walk off the stage with arms around each other and pumping their fists in the air) -

In one sentence, this was a jawdropping, mezmerizing, totally emotional and joyous experience that I will never forget!

Hmmm, after St. Louis all I could think of....I can't wait to see him sing again in concert......hold on.....oops! I am GOING to do just that tomorrow night in Kansas City!!

Actually what I really thought- WOW....how lucky we are that we have found this talented young man and how he has just grown so much as a performer.

I will recap KC performance as soon as I can :)

Title: Clay in concert
Post by: wordsmith1223 on April 14, 2004, 10:07:41 PM
That he looked like he was having the time of his life, how he has grown in showmanship in just a year, how he can REALLY SELL a song, that his voice is so strong in person, and he's just a natural entertainer -- looks like he's been doing it for years. And hopefully, that he'll be around for a long, long time having these mutual lovefests with the fans.
And I hope I can watch this amazing journey.
(I know that this is more than 1 sentence, but I was particularly impressed with his song choices -- the ones besides MOAM -- "All About Love," "Carolina," "Fields of Gold," "Kyrie" and "Open Arms" (the song that began the whole Clay thing for me on AI), and the fabulous "When Doves Cry" that left my friend and I looking at each other going "Whoa!"
Cheers,
Lynn

The Columbus concert was the most wonderful, earth-moving, incredible, fantastic, marvelous, sensual, thrilling, etc. etc. experience of my life.
I was in the CLAY ZONE and I must go back again soon.

SUPERTHUDDINGSTUBBALICIOUSSEXYAIKENSINGING,
When he stepped up on the stage he set my heart strings ringing,
Winking paintbrush lashes bedroom eyes are green and gleaming,
SuperthuddingstubbalicioussexyAikensinging!

That's just the chorus, I have a whole supercalifragalistic song!

In a sentence? I don't think so. I'm not smart enough. It's going to take a lot of sleepless nights (writers curse) to even come close to explaining the way he's rocked my world.
Superthuddingstubbalicioussexy Aikensinging. Oh, I said that already!   The old cliche, "Keep em' coming back for more" was definately written with OMC in mind!! GAH!

It would be hard to match or beat some of these comments but you just HAVE to express the incredible love you feel for this gorgeous and wondeful man.  I wish I could have seen every single one of his concerts on this tour - you can NEVER get enough of hearing him and in person there is nothing better - he is cute, adorable, funny and has the most amazing voice that leaves people screaming!!!!!!!  CLAY IS INCREDIBLE you can't get him off your mind :)

One of the biggest things for me was the total sense of sisterhood I felt radiating throughout the lines and arena, and, oh yah, he was into his 4th song before I even noticed the backup singers   :D
