Thanks a bunch, Pamela for providing this latest concert info.  I'm so thrilled that Clay is coming to Toronto!!!  Initially I couldn't get any ticket to the AI2 Tour.  They were sold out very quickly.  Luckily my girlfriend's teenage daughter was able to get a couple from a guy on a chat room who couldn't make it for some reason.  He even delivered them to her house at the face value of the tickets.  Needless to say, her friends were all over her for the tickets but she kept them for me.  Such a sweetie.  WOW I can't wait to see Clay again .....  THUD THUD THUD!!!
Pamela, you're such an angel, taking all this time to look for all the latest Clay info and keep us posted.  Much appreciated.  Have a good day!

Pamela,
Do you have any idea the size of the venues mentioned so far?  Was the AI2 concert held at these same venues that you know of or are they different?  Sorry for all the questions, just curious.  I want him to come to the MCI Center in D.C.!!!!

The tour schedule has not yet been announced, so we are collecting rumors and gossip just for fun.  Anything that is confirmed is clearly marked *CONFIRMED* and the rest are rumors.

Normally, a tour schedule is not officially announced until it's complete.  I expect leaks to come out over the next few days before we get the final official schedule.

We'll post them as we get them!

Kelly Clarkson is performing at the Rodeo in Houston with Jessica Simpson and her husband Nick on 3/16. She had this booked way before the tour was confirmed. And, Clay is not scheduled to come with her.  Which sort of makes us Houston people happy (hear me out) because the Rodeo show is only about an hour and those other 3 will be performing too.  We would much prefer to see a full Kelly/Clay show. Kelly is from Texas so they HAVE TO come for a full show, right ?

In case you are wondering about the Rodeo, we have bull riders and show pigs and all of that fun stuff. Then, at the end, there is a concert for an hour.

Title: Florida
Post by: flakenforaikeninFL on January 13, 2004, 03:28:46 PM
Heard on the radio today that Kelly and Clay will be at the American Airlines Arena in Miami  :D - I believe 2/28.  Yeah FLORIDA

I believe Kelly considered the AI tour stop in Dallas as her home stop.  It isn't that far from Burleson.  I keep looking at the American Airlines Center in Dallas for some sort of clue but nothing yet.   Texas has three probable stops - Houston, DFW, and Austin.

Sure wish they would hurry up and post something - Savvis is ten hours away but at least we know they are going there.

It doesn't appear that I am getting anxious does it?

THE SUSPENSE IS MAKING ME CRAZIER THAN I ALREADY AM.  I WISH THEY WOULD HURRY UP AND POST THE DATES AND PLACES SO I CAN MAKE MY PLANS.

PLEASE GOD, LET CLEVELAND BE ON THE LIST.

LIFTCLAYUP---I DON'T SOUND ANXIOUS EITHER, DO I?

Lori, the original information was that the venues would be smaller, but it looks like they are going for the mid size arenas instead in some markets.  Yeah!

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO! Why couldn't it have been ANY date but that. That is my best friend's 30th birthday and she just told me yesterday to save that date because she was going to have a big blow-out bash. I knew as soon as she said it that it would be the date of a Clay concert in Florida and as much as I'd love to see him I can't ditch my best friend for him. Dangit.  :(

Why don't you ask her to put off her party for one day, then the two of you could go together to see Clay. That way she'd have two special nights in a row and you'd get to see Clay and celebrate with her!

For me too! She likes Clay, I gave her his CD and she keeps it in her car, but not enough to change her party and I could never ask her too. Miami is a 3-4 hour drive for us. Which I would GLADLY do if it were ANY other night. Drat. I'll get over it.

Thanks. She is the one that is a good friend. I trust her implicitly, she has never betrayed me and never said anything derogatory - even in jest. She is the only person in the world I would miss seeing Clay for. So, OF COURSE her birthday is the day he comes to Florida. Bummer.

houstonclayfan - Sure, we got to see Clay at Christmas.  He only sung four songs and that was just a tease.  We want it all.  You know how it is, we can never never get enough CLAY.  I will be praying for Cleveland and Houston.

LiftClayUp - I have my Visa ready too if necessary to travel but I sure hope I don't have to use it.

I'm with Houston on this. I am wishing on my lucky stars that Clay comes to Detroit. yes it was my fault that I didn't go to the AI concert in July    but as Houston would put it, being Clayless is worth a few tears. So let's start a prayer chain that CLay and Kelly come to our respective cities. Us Detroiters have not had a true Clay experience. Positive thoughts!!

I could just sit and cry right now.  I can't believe Cleveland is not on the list.  My heart also breaks for you Houston fans who are Clayless.
I'll have to call my friend and see if she is willing to make a trip to Columbus if we can get tickets for that.
Does anyone know the best way to get tickets for a concert out of your area?  I've never done this before so I don't know what to do.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

"Houston Show " is the Rodeo.  Kelly, Jessica Simpson and her husband Nick, and Clay (if he is there, not confirmed) only get 45 mins total. The tickets have been on sale for a few months. And Reliant Center said this week that Clay wasnt going to be there, even if I COULD get tickets

Pamela, I know Columbus is on the list.  It's about a 2-3 hour drive from Cleveland. It's really not that far.  My problem is my friend that I go to the concerts with can't get off of work in the middle of the week so she can't go with me.  My husband sure won't go and I have nobody else to go with.  I would never go by myself.  I'm just not like that so I guess I'm just out of luck and heartbroken. I guess I should look at the bright side since I did already see Clay twice when some of you never got to see him in concert at all. But somehow it doesn't help the way I feel right now.

By the looks of the concert tour schdule so far, I would probably have to go to the first show in Charlotte.  I imagine it could be hard to get tickets for that show.  Everyone will be anxious to it.  My second concern is the cost of the tickets.  Anyone have any idea of the price range? Sure would love to go to the show in Charlotte, but that sure is a bad time of year (snow!) to plan a road trip!
Here's hoping!
Kathy

Title: INDEPENDENT TOUR DATES
Post by: FAITH on January 15, 2004, 06:57:24 PM
I have been looking at the list of cities on the tour and I am really surprised. Perhaps I don't understand how all of this works.....don't know a lot about it. I would think that a concert is designed to showcase talent that can draw in big numbers of fans ($$) which we know Clay and Kelly will surely do and that optimum exposure (large variety of locations) would also be a consideration. What is totally confusing me, is the fact that places like North Carolina, California, Florida, Pennsylvania, Washington have from 2-3 concerts in their states, whereas others have none. I am wondering what the average size of these venues is. Does availability of suitable venues at specific times also place a role in bookings? I am so disappointed that Toronto is not on the list!!! Does anyone else have any thoughts or views on how/why all of these locations were selected? Do you think that possibly this is a first tour with another second tour in mind later in the year?

Title: INDEPENDENT TOUR DATES
Post by: caramel131 on January 15, 2004, 07:38:43 PM
I'm a little bewildered too by the schedule.  I thought since Clay got such a good reception and turnout in Cleveland at the Kissmass Concert, that he would have wanted to come back with his tour.

Title: Oh dear...
Post by: Lynn on January 15, 2004, 09:07:15 PM
I really hope that Toronto becomes a for sure thing and the Z103.5 announcement wasn't just a tease...I remember when the SARS epidemic swept T.O. Kelly Clarkson cancelled her "tour date".  I hope that there isn't a lingering bad memory keeping them from coming to Toronto.  Or rather, keeping Clay from coming here.

Title: INDEPENDENT TOUR DATES
Post by: Pamela on January 15, 2004, 09:40:09 PM
Please keep in mind that this tour is sponsored and planned by an outside entity, AEG.  Clay probably requested his NC stops and Kelly her TX stops, but otherwise I doubt either of them had much say in where they will be performing.  It's unfortunate, but it's also subject to change.  I sincerely hope that everyone who want to go to a concert gets to go!

I still wonder why the Toronto radio station would have mentioned a stop there without some kind of information....maybe that stop will be added at a later date, and we'll keep our fingers crossed for Cleveland as well!

::sending good concert vibes to Toronto, Cleveland and Houston::

Thanks Pamela for your words of hope - as your suggestion I emailed 103.5 in Toronto last night to see if they could help us understand or explain their announcement about the tour. Hopefully they'll get back to me soon. I'll try phoning them today at their offices to see if I can actually talk to someone about it - don't know if it will help but at least we might get some answers - I'll post when I know anything.
But you're right Pam - let's not give up hope - you never know maybe Toronto will still be added somehow!

Does anyone know when the venues will have him listed....i know a couple on the list don't have him there yet?

Just wanted to let you all know that I have hope again.
My friend that I go to concerts with really wants to go.  She might be able to get a half day off the day of the concert to drive to Columbus but then we'd have to drive home that same night.  We'll see.
Also I received a wonderful offer from a dear person in this forum, caramel131.  I could go to the concert with her and her sister who are close to my area.  Either way I'm feeling much better knowing that I might get to see Clay.  Now I have to worry about getting tickets.  I'm a nervous wreck but a happier one than I was.
Who knows what God's plan is but I hope he'll smile down on me.

i am able to convert several of my friends as clayfans and we are all so excitedly waiting for the tour schedule to be released. and now we are so devastated. it is just so hard for 8 people to drive to grand praire in one day. and 5 of us work on the same place.
WHY IS CLAY NOT COMING TO HOUSTON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
MY HEART IS CRYING, BLEEDING, IN DEEP DESPAIR..............
I NEED A TRANQUILIZER........PLEASE.... OR SOMEBODY TO EXPLAIN TO ME THE UNFAIRNESS....

I can't believe he is not coming to NJ or  NYC. I was at his last concert at the Continental Arena and it was packed..  OMG how his voice filled that room!!!I think those arranging his tour are underestimating  his draw. He could handle larger venues. I know, give him time..Oh well, I'll just gas up the car and drive to Philly!!!

Claymore, I have posted about 10 times about how upset I am about this, but here is another. I feel your pain.  I dont understand it either. Texas is the biggest state and only 6,200 people get to see him.  Doesnt make sense to me.    I feel your pain.  PM me if you ever need to talk about it.

Title: TORONTO PLEEEAAASSSEEEE!
Post by: lynda on January 18, 2004, 07:59:09 PM
We are still anxiously awaiting news of a T.O. show.  I listened to the radio staion all morning on Saturday and not a word of it was mentioned.  Is it just a horrible rumour - or could it be true?  I will pack up and go to the Detroit concert if I have to, but the T.O. venues are about 1/2 hour away.  We loved Clay at the AI2 show.  If the rest hadn't shown up the audience would have been ok with that I think.  He was a huge hit.  As for Kelly, I think she will do well here too.  Lots of fans were hoping she would join the AI2 tour in Toronto just to feel out the waters.  There was a lot of disappointment when she was a no show.
Clay is the very best.  I would be more than happy with a Clay only show.  But if he's going to share it with anyone, I'm glad it's Kelly.

If anyone is looking for a way to hook up with other Claymaniacs...the Clay Cafe offers a bumper sticker (it's the cheapest thing there!) that you could use for ID purposes!

CLAY CAFE (http://www.cafeshops.com/claymaniacs.6814677)

Or, if I could get some buttons made up for $3 or $4 would anyone be interested in those?

Let me know.

Whatever you do, find a way to hook up with someone - it's FUN meeting someone from the board.  I've done it, and wouldn't trade it for anything!

As I stated before, if I get to go to a concert, it will be to the first show in Charlotte, NC.  Is there anyone else who will try to go to the concert there?  I still have not been able to get information on tickets yet.  I know nothing at all about Charlotte.  It would be great if someone out there who knows how to get around there could share some info. I would be coming from TN.

Title: Concert in Atlanta
Post by: jj on January 27, 2004, 02:35:26 PM
I am going to the concert here in Atlanta at the Arena at the Gwinnett Center. I got my tickets and I am so excited. It is on the 25th of Feb. not the 26th as the schedule shows. If anyone else in the Atlanta area reads this and is going, let me know. My husband and I gave each other the tickets as our Valentine's presents to each other. We are two of the older fans of Clays. See you there!!!!!!

I am so happy to hear that clay is going on tour but i am very upset that he is not going to be coming to san antonio. I wonder why they choose not to go to any major city in texas. ...But... Hey i still love clay!!  :D

now, because of all you "claymaniacs", decent folk like myself are required to bring our girlfriends to clay concerts or suffer the consequences...i'd like to thank you guys, seriously - no joke or sarcasm or any of that stuff. it gives decent folk like myself the opportunity to surprise and impress our girlfriends by...well, surprising them with tickets to the concert and then attending it with them and enduring through it even though i hold a great disdain for clay's music (although i've got nothing against the guy).
this guy's bringing the nation together either through the peoples' hatred and love for him as well as stuff like what i'm doing.
thanks again, claymaniacs.

Clay is coming to the Dallas area. I believe that he is not coming to any other major cities in Texas because Kelly already had solo dates scheduled for Austin and Houston. Sniff, Sniff

Title: Meet & Greets?
Post by: RPunkyGirl14 on March 09, 2004, 09:28:39 AM
Does anybody know if there will be any Clay/Kelly meet & Greets? They would have to do it separate-as there would be soo many people. Detroit was hoping for one-or some way to earn passes-or someway that their handicapped fans could see Clay or Kelly a quick minute? :)
