Title: The Bachelor
Post by: woodstock2 on January 05, 2009, 07:49:51 PM
The new season of The Bachelor started tonight with Jason from the last Bachelorette as the Bachelor.  He is such a nice guy.  And he is the first single parent to be chosen for this show.

I really enjoyed the 2 hour premier, but am glad I taped it so I can go back and watch some parts again.

Here are my impressions:

I was surprised that they had the "vote" allowing the girls to vote someone off, only to find out that that got her a rose.  I felt the girls voted for Megan because she is also a single parent and they thought she was trying to use it as a trump card.  I didn't think she was.  But she wasn't chummy with the other girls, either.

My early favorites are Stephanie (what a lady), Melissa, and Lauren.  There are others I liked, too.

I was surprised that Naomi and Jillian got roses.  They did not impress me so far.

I liked Jackie at first, but my opinion changed as the show went on.  Did anyone else think she was drunk?  I'm glad she didn't get a rose.  Same with a few others, who thought they were just "perfect" for Jason.

I was surprised in the preview that Deanna will return.  But I don't think Jason will go for it.  I think it's a little too late.

It will be interesting to see how things develop as the weeks go by.  Can't wait to hear what you all think!!!

Skip and I both watched THE BACHELOR last evening and it promises to be quite an interesting series.

I don't remember all the names, but I was impressed with the widow with a little girl.  Jason gave the first impression rose to the most stunning girl with the most cleavage showing!!  She really made a first impression on him!!  :lol

Deanna coming back to say she made a mistake will really stir things up.  Jason really did love her at one point, but how does he feel now?  I did think Jesse was not the right one for Deanna, but so much time has elapsed!  I think it might be a trust issue with Deanna, now.  How does he know she is sincere?

The dental hygienist came on a little strong; with the fake teeth and knowing so much about Jason and his family.   She said she wasn't a stalker, but you could see in his eyes he was a little shocked at her.

I  think it was probably not that hard to pick the 10 to go home;  maybe harder to pick the 15 to stay.

I have heard that he is engaged, so.....maybe there will be a happy ending.

I hope more will join Woody and me here as we watch this season's THE BACHELOR!!

I don't watch this show, but I have to say that one of the gals seems to have an interesting name.  :bigsmile

I hope she doesn't give the name a bad rep.  :lmao

Prissy - I was surprised and a little disappointed who Jason gave the first rose to.  You are right about the cleavage.   :lmao  The only reason I remembered the names is because I wrote them down.   :lol  Nothing else to do when you are home alone and no one to watch it with.  And the widow with the little girl's name is Stephanie.  I was really impressed with her.  She is quite a lady.  But for some reason I don't think it will be her in the end, but time will tell.

Deanna - The Deanna on the show was the Bachelorette who didn't pick Jason on her show and is now sorry.  So we will see what comes of it.  If she shames your name, I will let you know.   :wink

So does this mean Idol and The Bachelor will conflict with time slots????
I wondered if any of you also felt that even though Jason said he couldn't let Sharon's (Deanna, I have a name sake too) :para quitting her job to come to the show affect his decison the first rose ceremony night that it really did???  I felt no connection between the two at all :para

Sharon,
I know there  should never be a conflict between DWTS and THE BACHELOR because they are both ABC shows.  Now, AI is on FOX, so there very well could be a conflict there.  I have not watched AI in years, so it won't be a problem for me.

I did go back and watch the show again on TiVo and wrote down, like you Woody, all the names, their ages and where they are from.

Here are the 15 girls Jason picked.  This is the order they arrived in the limos.

Lauren, 27, Teacher, NJ
Kari, 27, Ad Exec., MO/KS
Melissa, 25, Sales Rep., Dallas  (Very bubbly;  was a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader)
Sharon, 32, Teacher, NY  (Resigned her teaching job to be on the show)
Natalie, 27, Human Res., Chicago
Naomi, 24, Flight Attend., CA
Megan, 25, Lacrosse Coach, PA (Got most votes to leave, so got a rose;  has a 14 month old son)
Lisa, 27, Public Relations, ID
Stephanie, 34, Medical Marketing, AL (Widow with a little girl;  my favorite, so far)
Raquel, 27, Medical student, Brazil (Said she brought 32 pairs of shoes;  seems a little selfish)
Nikki, 29, Admin. Assist., Chicago  (Most cleavage!!  First impression rose from Jason.....Is a Pageant "junkie"!!)
Molly, 24, Dept. Store Buyer, MI
Erica, 25, Acct. Exec., CT
Jillian, 29, Interior Designer, Canada (Did the hot dog "test")
Shannon, 29, Dental Hygienist, MO  (Had the fake teeth;  last one off the limos;   knew too much about Jason and his family!)

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 12, 2009, 07:47:56 PM
I just finished watching THE BACHELOR.  I did not go to orchestra practice.  I just didn't feel ready to start up again.  I will go next Monday! :thumb

"Meow!"  The claws are definitely coming out among some of the girls.  Erica and Megan, especially!! :eek  I am still impressed by Stephanie;  such a sweetheart and really kind.  The promos for next week show her getting a date with Jason and he surprises her with her little girl, Sophia,  joining them on her birthday.  Then we saw that Stephanie brought lots of jewelry and accessories and lets several of the girls have a fashion show.  She still strikes me as a really generous lady.

Three girls got roses on their dates:  Melissa, Molly, and Jillian.

Lisa decided to leave because of her grandmother's cancer.

So the two who left tonight were Raquel from Brazil (I thought she was too intense.) and Sharon, the teacher from New York who resigned her teaching job to come to THE BACHELOR. (I thought she came across as a little too desperate.)

The 12 remaining:

Lauren, 27, Teacher, NJ  (Jason observed she needs to be the center of attention.)
Kari, 27, Ad Exec., MO/KS
Melissa, 25, Sales Rep., Dallas  (2nd one on one date;  got to ride the Goodyear blimp with Jason)
Natalie, 27, Human Res., Chicago
Naomi, 24, Flight Attend., CA
Megan, 25, Lacrosse Coach, PA  (Jason chose her first for a rose tonight.  She doesn't get along with Erica.)
Stephanie, 34, Medical Marketing, AL (Widow with a little girl;  my favorite, so far)
Nikki, 29, Admin. Assist., Chicago  (She seems worried about the other girls;  too much so, I think.  Doesn't like to hear about
       Jason kissing another girl.)
Molly, 24, Dept. Store Buyer, MI
Erica, 25, Acct. Exec., CT  (Does not get along with Megan.  Not a favorite of mine.  Last one chosen for a rose tonight.)
Jillian, 29, Interior Designer, Canada (First one on one date)
Shannon, 29, Dental Hygienist, MO  (Knows a lot about Jason;  Jason said it's flattering, but...)

Well I thought the dates with Jillian and Melissa were awesome :clap :clap The large group date was different to me, but this is my first time watching the show so maybe large group dates are the norm??
Prissy, loved the preview of Sophia running along the beach to see her Mom :hugg I like Stephanie too, very lovely woman :clap
I think Raquel blew it when she snuck into the limo :para and I really don't feel ther was any connection with my name sake :lol

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 12, 2009, 08:26:15 PM
Sharon,
The group dates are the norm while there are still so many girls.  As the number dwindles down, fewer group dates, and more one on one dates. And usually the dates are really special;  spectacular  places and/or scenery;  often with a romantic dinner.

Woody can attest to the fact that I am always saying "I'm not watching THE BACHELOR or BACHERLOTTE any more.  The love connections seldom last!"  :para  But I remember Jason from the last BACHELORETTE so that lured me into watching again!

Prissy - Thanks so much for taking the time to post all the valuable information.   :hugg
I'm enjoying it very much.  Yes, Prissy has said she will not watch it again.   :wink But Jason is so nice, and they do say he ends up engaged at the end.  I look forward to that.

I will share my opinions.

I'm a little surprised at the girls Jason is most attracted to.  He says he is looking for a kind heart, but he seems to like the "fun" girls, and I don't think some of them are that sincere.  I think they are putting on a show to get attention.

I think both Jillian and Shannon are "too much".  They are pushing it.  I hope they are not there in the end.

I was not surprised Raquel went home.  I think she came on a bit too strong, too.

I felt so bad for Sharon.  She didn't get much one on one time with Jason.  She seemed like a nice girl to me.  It was her choice to quit her job to come on the show.  Perhaps they wouldn't give her the time off and she had no choice.  I know if I told my superintendent I wanted time off to go on the Bachelor, he would laugh in my face.   :lol  I think with a little more time with jason, she may have been around longer.  JMHO.

Lauren and Shannon are both acting selfish.

I think Erica is a trouble maker.  I was surprised she stayed.

I like Stephanie the best, too, and loved the preview.  I think that will go a long way to make an impression on Jason.  Or so I hope.   :cross

I also like Melissa.  She is cute and bubbly, and doesn't seem too pushy.  I hope to see her stay around.

I liked Megan until she had to be bleeped out on TV.  She is nasty to the other girls.  I know the other girls voted her off, but she could have been more professional.

I am just kind of neutral about the rest of the girls.  No others have struck me like Stephanie and Melissa.

BTW, one of the girls that siad she is from Chicago (don't remember which one)  is actually from Morton, IL, according to what they put on the screen.  Morton is NO where near Chicago!!!  Unless she meant she is originally from Chicago.  Morton is even south of me!!!  :naughty

I hope we get to see good things next week.

Boy what a night tonight, tons of drama :lol I have to say that Stephanie's "play" date with Jason and her daughter was just the best :clap
I am still surprised that Jason keeps Shannon~~~I think she's uncomfortable with the whole scenario.

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 19, 2009, 07:36:29 PM
Hi!

Just finished watching THE BACHELOR;  getting dramatic.

It started out with the date with Stephanie and her little daughter, Sophia.  Good family time at a children's park open just to the three of them.  I don't know if there will be a romantic connection between Stephanie and Jason, but I still like her.  I think she might make a good BACHELORETTE for "older" men.  I just hope if Jason lets her go it is before she gets to involved.  I would hate to see her hurt.
He did give Stephanie a rose.

On the group date the girls made plaster "busts" of themselves.  Melissa revealed that she had bust reduction surgery when she was 17.  Jason gave the group date rose to Jillian.

Natalie got the next single date; got to wear a million dollars worth of diamonds and went to Las Vegas with Jason.  I thought it was tacky that Jason (probably forced by the producers) chose the end of the date to tell her she wasn't getting a rose.  I don't think a rose should be involved in the single dates.  (JMO).
Jason was honest with his feelings that he didn't feel a connection with Natalie.

The girls were thrilled when someone came in and got Natalie's bags.

Jason came right out and asked Lauren who were the trouble makers Natalie alluded to.  Lauren said Megan and Erica, which is true.

Before the rose ceremony, Chris asked the girls to tell Jason what was going on.  Of course, no one would "rat" on another in public.  Shannon was so stressed, she went to the bathroom and threw up.

Finally, at the rose ceremony, Kari and Erica were the girls sent packin'!   I felt like Kari had not really had any one on one time with Jason, or at least, none the audience had seen.

Remaining 9:

Molly
Lauren
Melissa
Naomi
Shannon
Nikki
Megan
Stephanie
Jillian

3 that left:  Natalie, Kari and Erica

Sharon,
I loved the play date with Jason,  Stephanie and little Sophia.  So sweet!  I will probably rewind my recording of the show and watch that part several times this week.  In the promos for next week, It looks like Stephanie does some opera singing!  I hope that doesn't scare Jason!! :eek
Shannon may be too high maintenance emotionally!  And she was the one who knew so much about Jason.
I think Nikki should go.  She strikes me as too controlling and into everybody's business.  I can't see her dealing well with Jason's ex-wife.

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: woodstock2 on January 19, 2009, 07:37:56 PM
Sharon - I so agree with you about tonight.  It was a very good episode.  I just wish it wasn't 2 hours long.

I have to say that I am more surprised by who Jason keeps there than who he sends home.  I was glad to see Erica go.  I do think she is a trouble maker.  I also think Megan is a big time trouble maker and there for the wrong reasons.  I wish she would go.

And I have never liked Jillian.  I think she is very fake.  Maybe I am wrong but that is JMHO.  What he sees in her, I can't understand.

Shannon will go soon, I think.

I still like Stephanie the best.  The date was fantastic, and I think he saw what it could be like in the future.  She is far more mature than the other girls there IMHO.  I hope she will be the one there at the end.  But Jason may surprise us all, because he seems to like the "fun-loving" type girls.

We will see what next week brings.   :wink

Tonight was definitely interesting.  Sometimes I am not sure how Jason thinks!!!

I think he is starting to really like Molly.  Shannon was acting awfully goofy tonight, IMO.  Naomi got to do a lot of kissing.  Maybe that's why she got a rose.  Melissa seemed so upset all night.  Shannon practically begged Jason to keep her there.  Megan thinks she is so perfect for Jason.   :bduh  Lauren really thought she deserved the rose.  I am so glad Stephanie got a rose, or I may have stopped watching.  Interesting that Jason couldn't give out the last rose.  He just didn't feel enough of a connection to the rest.  I was a bit surprised that Lauren went home.  But glad to see Megan, Nikki, and Shannon go home.

I still don't see what he sees in Jillian.   :bduh

I am a Stephanie fan, and unless something changes, that is my vote.   :thumb

Title: Re: The Bachelor

WOW!

This show just gets more dramatic each week.

Molly got a rose on her one on one "all night" with Jason.

On the group date, Naomi got the rose.

And on the two on one date with Stephanie and Nikki, Stephanie got the rose and Nikki was sent home.  I kind of thought that Stephanie might be sent home if Jason felt no romantic connection with her and so she would not be hurt.  Nikki has shown how controlling and difficult she can be.  Even though she got the first impression rose from Jason, she just has a strange personality.  :hypno   I'm glad she was the one to go and glad to see more of Stephanie.

More learned about Stephanie:  she has taught ballet and has an operatic voice.

In a "most dramatic" rose ceremony, Jason only gave out two roses to Melissa and Jillian.  So that means girls leaving tonight were:

Shannon (I'm glad she's gone;  almost psychotic and seemed in a melt down)
Megan (Kind of mean and with a "potty" mouth!)
Lauren (Began to show controlling personality)
and Nikki  (Pretty on the outside, but seened to unravel as the shows went on)

5 girls remaining:

Molly (Always has a smile and doesn't get involved in the drama of the house)
Melissa (Cute and perky, but kind of needy and jealous)
Naomi (No impression of her, really)
Stephanie (My favorite and in a class by herself)
Jillian (Fun loving and gets along well with Jason)

Even though I really like Stephanie, I see Melissa, Molly, or Jillian ending up with Jason.  And I would still like to see Stephanie as the next BACHELORETTE (if she doesn't end up with Jason, that is.)

:wow :jaw drama we got :para
I'm happy Jason was honest with Megan, Lauren and Shannon.
I kinda feel like Molly and Naomi will be the final two.
Woody and Prissy, I love Stephanie too, just don't think at this point there's enough passion going on, not to say it might not happen still.
Prissy, if Stephanie is eliminated, she would make a great future Bachelorette :clap :clap
There was a whole lot of kissy face goin' on tonight no?? :slick :angel

 :wave Woody and Sharon!

I believe that Jason is Jewish and I'm not sure but that Jillian is Jewish, too.  I tried to find out on line about Jillian, but could not.
That could affect his choice, but who knows.

Some of the boards think they know who he chooses, but I don't want to know until the end.  I want to be surprised, but it's fun to speculate on his choice.

Woody,
Shannon just seemed to get loonier and loonier as the shows continued.  She went from funny to almost psychotic and desperate!!   :hypno

Lindsay,
Welcome to the BACHELOR thread.  I don't always watch the BACHELOR or BACHLORETTE shows, but if I watch the first one or two in a season, I am hooked.  I knew I would watch this one with Jason because I watched the previous season with Deanna.
Shannon did seem to get stranger as the series progressed!!  :bduh

You know, Prissy, I watched the very first season of the show and didn't watch it again until the Brad/Deanna season. I really liked Deanna and hated what Brad did to her, so I tuned into The Bachelorette. And, just as what happened with Deanna, I really liked Jason (a lot) and hated she picked Jesse. So, here I am. I think it'll be interesting to see what happens when she makes an appearance later this season.  :para

Sharon - I didn't know it was your first Bachelor show!!!  Hope you are enjoying it.  It's just a bit of getting away from it all for me.  But sometimes it is hard to not have feelings for the contestants.  I DO think Stephanie is the best choice in the long run, as I think Prissy does, but Jason will have to follow his heart.  Glad to have this to watch!!!

THE BACHELOR is pure escapism!!  I am totally involved with it while I am watching it.  Sometimes, I go back and watch parts again, like when Stephanie saw her little daughter running toward her on the beach!!

There have been three Monday night orchestra practices that I have missed, mainly because I wanted to watch THE BACHELOR, even though I TiVo it, too.  This Monday, I must go to orchestra practice, so I will have to watch it later when I return home.  I will stay away from this thread until I have watched.

I'm going to predict that Naomi and Stephanie go home.  I hate to see Stephanie go, but I think he has more of a connection with Molly, Melissa, and Jillian. I don't want to see Stephanie led on to the Final Two unless she is the final choice for Jason.   I'm still rooting for Stephanie to be the next BACHELORETTE if she isn't chosen by Jason.  And I have been posting on the message board (of Jason's blog) that same thing.

Sharon and Lindsay,
I know I speak for Woody when I say we are glad to have some more BACHELOR fans!! :wheee

Prissy,
You are right, I am glad to see other fans of the show!!!
But I hope you are wrong about tonight.  I really don't want to see Stephanie go home.  But I think Jason is attracted to girls that we don't necessarily see for him....like Jillian.   :naughty :lmao
But we will soon see!!!

I think I can safely say I'm not surprised by Stephanie's departure. She definitely is a wonderful woman, but it seemed she and Jason only had their children in common. She was very gracious and even said she could tell the spark wasn't there for him. A very classy lady, indeed.

I'm pulling for Melissa after tonight, but I'd be willing to bet Molly will be the last woman standing. Of course, I thought Deanna was going to pick Jason. :lol A lot of things change after the hometown dates, though!

And, yes, shows like this are pure escapism.  :smile

:cry :cry :cry I'm sad after tonight, even though I agree with you Lyndsay, I felt long ago that the physical attraction just wasn't there for Jason with Stephanie :sigh I give Jason kudos though, what he said to her in front of all the women was just so terrific, and she deserved to hear it~~~in front of all the women.
I also agree that Molly is looking like a shoe in, I've felt that since their pup tent adventure :lol
So when does Deanna come back into this??? :para :naughty

I don't think it will be next week because they will be in their hometowns. Probably not the week after because of the fantasy dates. That only leaves the week of the final rose ceremony. Have to add more drama to what's already there. :lol

Interesting little tidbit: I went searching YouTube for the clip of Deanna's return and found an abundance of Jason and Melissa videos/montages. Seems like she might be a favorite for a lot of people in cyberland!

Hello!

It's almost tomorrow here.  I just finished watching my TiVo and I cried :cry when Stephanie didn't get the rose, but it was time, too, for her to go.  I couldn't bear the thought of her being led on to the final two and then really disappointed.  I admired Jason for saying to all the girls what a special amazing person Stephanie is.  And I'm sure the other girls loved her, too. I imagine there are thousands of men out there, if men watch this show, (Skip does!) that would love to meet Stephanie!!  I'm still hoping she will be the next BACHELORETTE.

Title: Re: The Bachelor

I was not surprised to see Naomi go, especially after Jason's visit with her family.  They came across a little odd, and wanted to push their religious and unusual beliefs on Jason.

There was always  something about Naomi that made her uninteresting to me;  I thought she was boring.

I think that Jason really loves Melissa, but not getting to meet her parents was a point against her.  Why couldn't they have met off camera?  Or did they not want to meet him at all?  Melissa said they never came to any Cowboy games when she was a cheerleader.  My parents even came to my programs when I was the teacher presenting the programs!!  I kind of feel bad for her.

Jillian really seems the best all around match for Jason.  Someone said her part of Canada is not that far from Seattle?  Is that true, Sharon?  Also, she is 29, just three years younger than Jason.  And he seemed to really enjoy her family.  I loved her grandma!!

Molly's family seemed nice and fun.  It's odd her dad wanted her not to cry if she is let go;  smile in the limo!

And Deanna is coming to New Zealand.  I bet she wanted a nice trip out of her visit to THE BACHELOR!!.

At this point, I don't have a clue who Jason will pick, but if Jason chooses with his heart, I'm going to guess it's Melissa.  He seemed to want to touch and kiss her whenever they are alone  (with the camera in their face!!) :lol

Prissy, I'd guess Seattle and Vancouver to be about 100 miles apart, pretty close :wink

Prissy I was going to post that this morning after I thought about it, her Dad really was pushing religion at Jason, you really don't do that :naughty.
I hope if Melissa's family not meeting Jason is why he chooses someone else that Melissa will be able to forgive them for doing this.

Title: Re: The Bachelor

Sharon,

I've been thinking about Melissa, too.  It sounds like her family is really not interested in her.  In that case, she could move to Seattle and be a part of Jason's life without feeling guilty about leaving her family in Texas.  After hearing her friends talk about her, it seems like she doesn't have a lot of confidence and is really looking for someone to love her and to love.

I'm starting to think it's between Melissa and Jillian and that Molly will be going home next week.  But it's hard to second guess these shows.  And I'm anxious to see the episode with Deanna.

:wave Hello Bachelor fans!

Naomi was definitely the right choice to go home last night. The connections with Molly, Melissa and Jillian just seem to be too strong. I like both Jillian and Melissa equally (I really can’t choose which one I like best!), and I would be perfectly happy if Molly went home next week.

She seems high maintenance to me … and Jason doesn’t strike me as a “country club” kind of guy. One red flag was her insistence that she’d never date someone her parents didn’t love. I know we all aspire for parental approval, but the way she presented it almost seemed unhealthy to me. I could see her siding with her parents on everything – leaving Jason alone on the other. That could spell big, big trouble later on. Yes, I analyze everything – even reality TV!

I, too, hope Melissa will be able to forgive her parents if not meeting Jason is a big reason she’s sent home. I don’t think this is the first time parents have refused to be on camera. I’ve often wondered if they do meet in private, but they play it up as if they didn’t for the camera. It makes a dramatic story, you know!

I really liked Jillian’s family!! They were so spunky and full of life. And I do love their accents; I could listen to them talk all day. :bigsmile After talking about her mom’s depression, I think Jason really understands why she comes off as the strong, motherly type. It was nice, although sad, to hear her finally open up and be vulnerable.

Re: Deanna – I believe she is returning for the drama. I read in US Weekly (hey, it comes in the mail for free at work) that she’s dating Ace Amerson, a former MTV Real World cast member.

For some reason, I am not hearing any accents. :scratch

Melissa doesn't have a Texas drawl and I cannot tell that Jillian speaks with an accent.  They all sound the same to me.  But I did think Stephanie had a slower way of speaking.

Lindsay,
Good to see you here again.  I have heard that Deanna is dating someone else, too.  It will be interesting to see how her being there works out.  She does say at one point, "I made a mistake."  And that could mean anything.  But they do show Jason being very emotional.

Sharon,
Do you have an accent?  Boca thought I had a Texas drawl at the Social a few years ago.  Personally, I don't hear it!!  :lol  When Skip and I went to New Zealand several years ago, even though we were all speaking English, the people in New Zealand spoke so fast, I couldn't understand a word!!  :lol

I know I am late posting my opinion.   :wink

I am sorry to have to disagree with many of you.  I have never liked Jillian.  I thought her "hot dog" thing was ridiculous, and I have also thought she was seeming fake from time to time, just to say the right thing.  JMHO.  I will definitely be disappointed if she is the one picked.

I thought Melissa was too "cutesy", but Jason really likes her, and I believe she is sincere.  I felt bad for her that her parents didn't want to be on air, but that is their choice, and I am glad Jason didn't hold it against her.....at least not so far.

I like Molly.  She seems sincere, too.  I wouldn't be surprised if she is there at the end.

As far as Naomi goes, I really never had an opinion about her either way, so it's OK with me that she is gone.

I don't know how Deanna will stir things up.

It will be an interesting next couple of weeks.  I will watch until the end, but I am really not in to any of these girls left, so I don't really care, except for Jillian.  She needs to go.

I am going to orchestra soon, so will tape and TiVo THE BACHELOR.  This should be the episode with Deanna and the next to the last episode.  I'm guessing Molly will be leaving but ?????  you just never know.

I will stay up late and watch and then post tonight or tomorrow.

Sharon,
Since this is your first "Bachelor experience,"  I don't think you know that there will be a show After the Bachelor, where the girls all come back and get to question Jason and we get to see Jason and his chosen one together.  This is always an interesting show, to say the least.

I can't wait to hear what Shannon, Megan, and some of the others have to say, and it will be good to see Stephanie again.

This After the Bachelor show is usually a week after the Final show, I think! :scratch

How wrong was I, my favorite lady went home tonight.
I honestly thought it would be a toss up between Molly and Melissa.  I felt things a bit strained with Molly at the beginning of dinner, and I thought Jason would have not possibly gone further with Melissa not having met her parents when family is so important to him.
I'm kinda disappointed actually, I thought Jillian was a perfect match :bduh
So next week the ladies all come back and the final show in 2 weeks right??? I'll be flying home from Orlando that Tuesday, need to get settled in time to watch.

:cry  I was really sad to see Jillian go and surprised.  I thought Molly would go tonight.  Jason does not seem mature enough to know that your spouse needs to be someone you love but also your best friend, too.

I would bet that it will be Melissa that he chooses.   Just the way he looks at her and is always touching and kissing her makes it obvious that she is the one.

If he picks Molly, I will be totally in shock!!!

So, Deanna will be on in two weeks and Molly and Melissa will get to meet Jason's family in New Zealand and next week is the Bachelor, the Women Tell All.

 :yeahthat

:yeahthat  I had a feeling when Jason kept saying that he needed more than a best friend that he would let Jillian go.  You all know I have never cared for her that much.  I thought it was interesting what Jason said to her, that he didn't think he would be able to "keep up" with her.   :bduh

He seemed to really enjoy all 3 girls last night, but I thought Molly would go, too.  I bet she would have if Jill didn't mention being best friends.

I also believe it will be Mellissa now, and I hope it is.  She has really grown on me, and I liked what Jason said about being able to enjoy being treated that way every day.  I really think she does love him.  I really think he loves her, too.  I will be disappointed if he picks Molly also.  She is so reserved and that doesn't seem like the kind of girl Jason likes.  JMHO  :bigsmile

I know I have not posted yet this season (I have been lurking in here tho to see what y'all are thinking), not sure I am going to survive this show!!!!!!!!!!!   :lol   But find this article very intriguing!!!!!!!

'Bachelor' creator Mike Fleiss standing by shocking ending comments

By Christopher Rocchio, 02/16/2009

Despite the show's history of over-the-top promos, The Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss says he isn't crying wolf with his recent comments that the reality dating show's thirteenth-season ending is "shocking" and the "most dramatic ever."

"[If] I'm the boy that cried wolf [before], well this time it's a wolf," Fleiss told Reality TV World on Friday.

"It's five wolves, it's a pack of wolves!  I'm telling you, money back guarantee.  If anyone thinks this isn't the most shocking The Bachelor ever, you have them call me, because I'll want to know why, because it is, it most definitely is.  I don't even think there [has been] anything close."

Fleiss' comments have come despite The Bachelor star Jason Mesnick's previous gushing that he's "engaged" and "completely in love."

However Fleiss told Reality TV World that doesn't mean The Bachelor's upcoming ending is predictable.

"That might be a mislead, you never know," teased Fleiss when asked about Mesnick's comments.  "It's astonishing, and whatever you think it is, you can't be completely right, there's no way."

Last week, ABC announced it will air The Bachelor: After the Final Rose, Part 2 -- an apparent extension to the already-scheduled The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special the network will air on Monday, March 2 at 10PM ET/PT immediately after the thirteenth season's two-hour finale broadcast -- on Tuesday March, 3 at 10PM ET/PT.

"The network knows the way the show ends and they know its going to do a giant [ratings] number," Fleiss told Reality TV World about the decision to expand the show's season.  "They're going to want to show a little bit more of the story."

However according to Fleiss, the extra hour will be worth it to viewers.

"I can not confirm or deny anything," he said.  "[But] if you like reality TV at all, those hours of reality TV are going to be satisfying to you, I guarantee.  Guaranteed."

Debbie,
Thanks for the article.  Chris Harrison did say something at the end of last night's show about a very sensitive ending.  So, I can't imagine what could happen.  Can't wait to find out!!

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: wvclayfan on February 17, 2009, 09:08:25 AM
I really think Jason thought Jillian was too independent for him. That may be partially what he meant by not being able to "keep up."

Interesting article about the shocking ending. But, honestly, if people have cried wolf before (and we know all of the reality shows do it), why should anyone believe them when they say there really is a wolf? :lol :shrug Maybe Jason and the girl he chooses get married? That would be kind of cool. :smile

I will wait until the shows air to see what actually happens.  Jason is being bashed by lots of fans of the show who are believing the rumors.  I hope we find out that something actually good happens at the end.

Well, not one of the better Women Tell All specials. Several things stood out to me. First, they didn't ask who the former bachelorettes thought would be best for Jason - Molly or Melissa. I'm pretty sure they've done that in the past. Second, the editing of Jillian's interview - especially when Chris asks if she'd consider being The Bachelorette - was terrible. She was great, editing not so much. Third, Molly got lots of face time in the clips! Almost the exact opposite of what we've seen the entire season. Finally, Jason seemed very reserved when asked if he was happy. Barely cracked a smile. No mention of an engagement either. :shrug

Next week will certainly be interesting. Looking forward to reading what the rest of you thought.  :smile

I just finished watching my tape of THE BACHELOR, THE WOMEN TELL ALL.   I did notice that Jason said he was happy, but he didn't say he was engaged.  Also, Chris asked Jill if she would consider being the next BACHELORETTE, and she said yes, I think.  I was kind of hoping it might be Stephanie, but Jill would be good.

I was surprised Natalie got so much interview time.  I would rather it had been Stephanie.  All in all, it was an OK show, but not a lot of new things revealed.  I actually fast forwarded through the part with the contestants in other years;  don't really remember any of them.

Next week, we'll finally know what happens.  :yes

I was so glad he chose who he did. After listening to everything he said about her compared to the other I thought, why is this a tough decision for him? It has to be her. And I was completely turned off by the other one and her wahfest after he turned her down.

Then came the After the Rose Special.

I watched the first 5 minutes, determined he was a total putz, and changed the channel.

6 weeks? He gave it only 6 weeks? He didn't even try. And to not discuss it with her before now?

Putz.

You know, as I just told a friend of mine, I was so po'ed when Brad dumped Deanna. I liked her SO much I watched The Bachelorette for the first time. Then, I was so po'ed when Deanna picked Jesse. As before, I liked Jason SO much I decided to continue to follow his story. Now I'm just po'ed I got caught up in this television show again. No more.

Even though it all played out like Reality Steve said, I still couldn't help screaming at the tv, "Then why did you propose??" If you were THAT torn up about letting Molly go, you should have never proposed to Melissa. And I truly believe the entire discussion between Jason and Melissa this evening was scripted. She was not wearing the engagement ring when she walked out on stage, but it magically appeared when it was time to return it. She also wasn't buying the "I haven't seen or talked to Molly" since the show ended bit ... and neither was I.

Okay ... I have sufficiently vented my frustrations. I can move on now. :lol I hope Jillian, who is the next Bachelorette, is able to truly find the love of her life - much like Trista and Ryan - without too much of the "reality television" getting in the way.

Well, I guess I'm in the minority then, cause I'm GLAD it worked out the way it did.  I knew he was making a mistake when he chose Melissa.  She was WAY too immature for him IMO.  So, I wasn't at all surprised.  Molly was right all along...he was making a big mistake.

He's been on other shows since the show ended and has said that he's VERY happy, so he really shouldn't have stayed with Melissa if he was still in love with Molly.  That wouldn't have been fair to anyone.

Oh well...

As far as that Brad guy was concerned, I don't know WHY any of them would've been sad about not being chosen by him.  I thought he was a jerk from the get-go....and definitely not a "catch."

Whew!  Thanks for letting me vent...er...spout.   :smile

wvclayfan and Michelle,
I am done watching the Bachlor! The only two that
ever made any sense to me were Trista and Ryan. That
Jason really needs to grow up.  I was so hoping that
Molly would tell him to get lost. I know what I would
have told him. I better leave it at that.  :wink

Title: Re: The Bachelor

I stayed up late to watch my recording of the show!  3 hours!  :eek

So all the rumors were true.  It just proves that it is unrealistic to find true love in such a short time in such a contrived setting.  I thought Jason was just saying he was torn between Molly and Melissa for drama on the show, and that he was really in love with just one of them.  However, I have never seen anyone cry as much as he did after letting someone go. He should have let both of them go and said he needed more time to sort out his feelings.

I think that Melissa was right to feel as hurt and mad as she did.  Evidently, Jason had been talking to her and telling her he didn't feel the "chemistry" any more.  Jillian tried to tell him you need to marry your best friend;  Passion and physical attraction are not enough.

Skip and I said we thought if he had picked Molly, she would be the one he was dumping and wishing he had picked Melissa.  Dealing with real life and away from the Fairy Tale extravagance of the show, is a real eye opener. Molly said she still loved him and had imagined how it would be if he said he had made a mistake and should have chosen her.  Well, now she has her wish.
It will be interesting to see if Molly and Jason stay together.

Almost every time, I say I'm never watching this show again.  None of the relationships work out.  And it's hard to see so much hurt and pain from the girls who are rejected.   But the girls or guys know what they are "stepping" into when they sign up for this show!!

PS:  Deanna showing up was ridiculous!  As I've thought all along, it was a chance for her to get a trip to New Zealand!!  :bduh

I did not see the show, that channel would not come in.   :bang  But I have read articles online and all of your comments.

I became decreasingly disappointed in Jason as the season went on.  He liked girls I felt like I could see right through.  And he didn't seem to be after the right thing.  After his comments about needing more than a "best friend", I really didn't care anymore.

I felt he let the best catch go, Stephanie.  Too bad there wasn't more chemistry between them.  But now I'm glad, as she deserves someone better.

What Jason did to Melissa is despicable.  That should have been done in private.  Since I did not see the show, I cannot comment on whether or not I thought the whole thing was scripted.  If it was, it is just as bad as Idol setting people up to believe they are safe and then dump them.

I hope Jason and Molly are happy, and I hope I never see them again.   :lol

HEY, my sister just told me that her daughter knows  Nikki that was on the show.  They have been out in groups several times.  She said no one likes her.   :giggle

Lindsay -   Have you heard that Jillian will be the next Bachelorette???  I was SO hoping it would be Stephanie.  I am not a fan of Jillian's.  But I now think Melissa is the fan favorite for being the next Bachelorette.

Another disappointing season, but I know I will keep watching because I like mindless entertainment.   :lol

Two more observations/complaints about the show.  This show is in Prime Time.  These "overnight" dates are really getting ridiculous.  What do we think they were doing behind closed doors???  If they want to sleep together, fine.  I'm no prude.  But does it have to be announced on national TV???  Also the thought of the same guy sleeping with a different girl each night is sickening IMHO.  I don't believe once the doors are closed, there are any rules, or am I wrong???

Also, I noticed this early on.  EVERY time you saw Jason and the girls, but especially Jason, there were drinks in their hands.  Did anyone else notice that?  Sure, I enjoy a beer or a drink, but I certainly don't think you need to have one to have a good time or to be romantic.  But they certainly gave that impression.  Again, JMHO.

Excellent observations and commentary, Debbie.   :clap   We are definitely on the same page.  After watching the Finale and "After the Rose" Pt 1 last night I was reminded why I had given up on watching "The Bachelor" after Trista and Ryan long ago.

My word for Jason...here goes.... What a worm!  There is no bigger turnoff to me in a man than one who can't make a firm decision and stick by it.  All of this "well, we have to live for the day" and "I'm still falling in love with you", , etc. is IMO a sign of weakness and complete lack of manliness.

Prissy, I just saw this post as I read back. Again, I agree with you !   More proof that Jason seems to be "commitment phobic".  IMO he needs to get out of his "Well, I like her but I also like her" adolescent mode.   And he's certainly not a very good role model for his little son, IMHO.

Can't they do any better than a Jason????    Believe it or not, there are actually some real men out there but maybe they're too manly to have to display such an important life decision as selecting a wife out there for the entire world to see.  Just my theory.  :para

I hope all of you "Bachelor" fans got to se The View this morning. Elizabeth is (or was) addicted to The Bachelor. She showed her home movies of the Finale party she had last night for her friends. She had wedding veils for everyone, had a rose ceremoney for each of her friends, etc.  :lol She said after last night she will never watch the show again, though. I haven't watched since Trista and Ryan's season, either - glad there was at least one success story! I can't believe it, but this morning one show talked about how the ratings for this show continue to climb!  :para

I'm happy to see that at least I'm in good company.  I admire and respect Elizabeth of "The View", although I recognize that these days she is not the most popular of the show's moderators.

I don't think there has been a "Tristan and Ryan" success story recently, Frankie.  Of course, since I gave up watching "The Bachelor" a while back what would I know???  :lol  Prissy, others?????

Frankie,
I saw your post about the Bachelor being all over morning TV, which I had missed, but it was time for THe View to begin, so I TiVo'd it before I left for the dentist.  I just watched it and Elizabeth was hilarious with her Bachelor Party.

Thea,
I believe the only successful marriage from The Bachelor has been Trista and Ryan.  They were shown last week on The Bachelor with their little boy and they are expecting another child.

I always say, right Woody?, never again will I watch The Bachelor or Bachelorette.  However, if Jillian or Stephanie is the next Bachelorette, I won't be able to resist.

As Elizabeth said, "Thank goodness DWTS is coming back next week."  :dance

PS:  In Jason's blog after he and Molly were in a tent all night, he said he wanted everyone to know that nothing happened;  just a lot of talking and they were only there for a short time because of all the time it takes to film a date.
He also commented that it takes almost all night to film the Rose Ceremonies.  I don't understand why, but????

PS2:  The dental receptionist had also been watching The Bachelor and she said another After the Final Rose is on tonight.  I will have to check the TV Guide.

Yes, there is another After the Final Rose special tonight. This is supposed to give us all an update on how Molly and Jason are doing. The first show was filmed in January. Tonight's episode was filmed at the end of Feb.

Woody - Jillian will supposedly be introduced as the next Bachelorette at the end of tonight's show.

If anyone is interested in reading the hubbub that has been circling the internet these last few weeks, check out Reality Steve (http://www.realitysteve.com). Sharon,
THE BACHELOR is almost always a frustrating show, but very addictive.  Once I've watched the first few episodes, I am usually hooked.  And now, they've announced Jillian will be the new BACHELORETTE, so, of course, I will have to watch it with Jillian.  I was really hoping the BACHELORETTE would be Stephanie, but Jillian should be a good one.

I did watch the AFTER THE ROSE, AFTER THE ROSE Finale!!! :lol   Molly seems genuinely happy that she "won" and she and Jason seem to be slowly building their relationship.  I really felt like they should have both said more how they regretted that Melissa had to be hurt for them to find happiness.

Jason and perhaps Molly will be on GMA on ABC tomorrow morning.  I will try to TiVo that.

May for the BACHELORETTE with Jillian.  They will probably sort filming soon.

:hugs

Title: Re: The Bachelor

Late as usual posting, :rolleyes but here goes: :bigsmile
I am so upset that I wasted so much time watching The Bachelor! Never again! :no
I'd never watched before and now I know why! :lol
I saw about the last three episodes of the Bachelorette, loved Jesse, was glad Denna picked him, (and very sad when she later dumped him, now I think he deserves better! :naughty ) but I thought Jason was a good guy, kinda cute too, and that's why I decided to watch this season, but I quickly began to dislike him more and more with every episode, I couldn't stand the girls he liked, and was really upset when he let my favorites go, (Nikki & Stephine, but now I'm glad, they deserve better!) and just everything about him was getting on my nerves, I couldn't stand seeing him making out with so many different women, I know that's a part of dating and I'm no prude either, :slick but it was just a turn off, I decided that I could never be on a show like that, (not that I would given the chance! :lol ) because if I really fell in love with a guy, it would kill me to see that going on, and I agree Woody, all the innuendos of him sleeping with the different women was sickening. :para And not to mention the crying! I'm all for "sensitive" men, Clay crying when everyone sang along to MOAM in concert, heartbreaking, David C. crying on Idol after he sang with his ill brother in the audience, well let's just say that added to my fascination with him, :wink but Jason crying pretty much constantly? Sickening! I couldn't take another minute of it, I mean man-up and make up your mind for Pete sakes and quit whining all ready! :lol
Then what he did to Melissa just solidified my opinion that he's a jerk, she was so thrilled when he proposed, screaming and jumping around like she did, and it was romantic the way they all jumped in the water together, then before we could even enjoy that moment, "After the Final Rose" comes on and we see him dumping her, on National TV! :naughty (Not to mention the rumors that I believe to be true, about how he cheated on her with Molly the whole time after he proposed!) He did take away something special from her, her first marrage proposal, which wasn't fair when he could've just let her go, and what kind of a girl is Molly to take him back after he not only dumped her, (also on National TV!) but right after he just did so to Melissa? Couple that with his failed marrage....track record girl! :roflmao No way that they'll last.
And then just when he couldn't get anymore awful, he blames the show for "making" him break up with Melissa that way! Way to try and shift the blame and jerkiness off of himself! I believe Chris when he said they don't force anyone to break up on camera, every other Bachelor couple has broken up, and none of them in that way, that was all him. :para
I loved the interview he did on Bonnie Hunt's show after the final, she hammered him with so many great questions! My favorite was why he kept touting himself as a single parent when Ty's mother is still in his life! He couldn't answer! And you should've seen his face when she asked if he would say he's a single father to Ty! She said that if he would, Ty would ask, "what about mommy?" Great questions. :clap Also loved when she said about Melissa: "sometimes rejection is God's form of protection." Great. :smile
And I agree that Denna coming on the show was ridiculous, I still don't get the point, did she want him back, was that a ratings ploy, what? :scratch
Final thoughts: Jason is a creep, I wish I'd never watched that train wreck, I'll never watch again, which won't be hard because I never cared for Jillian anyway, and I'm so glad that Melissa is moving on with a new guy and DWTS, I almost didn't watch this season until I heard she was a last minute replacement, and now she's one of my favorites to win. :clap And finally, if I had been Melissa, there's no way I would've given him back that ring!!!! :lol :wink

'Bachelor' Jake Pavelka promises 'a very rocky and dramatic season'

The next edition of The Bachelor stars Jake Pavelka, who has taped the season and promises it'll be as wacky as ever.

"I can tell you from the get-go, it is a very rocky and dramatic season," Jake said in a press call from Atlanta just moments ago.  "Some of the things that happened on the show, drama-wise, floored me."

But did he find love? "I don't want to ruin the ending," he says. But adds, "I stayed true to myself from the very beginning. I went in and said very honestly, if I find love I'll come out engaged. I didn't promise a ring at the end of this and stayed true to myself. I didn't necessarily do what everybody wanted me to."

Pavelka, 31, who describes himself as "adventurous ... a little unpredictable and tenacious,"  figured that after the first rose ceremony he would know his final four. He was so sure he'd be able to quickly zero in on someone. But it didn't work out that way. "Half way through the entire journey, I still had no idea whatsoever. It was cast so well for my temperament. I had a lot of romance. My heart went out to multiple women."

He also says yes, we can expect plenty of hot tub action, but says, "I don't feel like I have anything to apologize for." He also added, "I don't have a girlfriend, I'm not married and don't have 8 mistresses - pardon me, Tiger Woods. Stuff like cheating and shady activity? ... Everyone has skeletons in their closet, but if I could think of anything that I thought would shock everybody, I would get it out there right now and 'fess up, but I can't think of anything to say."

You can meet the 25 women he courted here.  The new Bachelor season kicks off on ABC on Jan. 4

Sharon,

Here is a picture of Jessie from Oakville, Ontario, Canada. She is one of the few brunettes and on the far left of the last row in the group picture.  (No Texas gals for Jake!) :sad

I am watching the TCU Fiesta Bowl Game, but I will be bouncing back and forth to THE BACHELOR!!  I liked Jake from THE BACHELORETTE with Jillian, so I hope he finds a really good match for him!!  He seems like such a good guy!!

I'll be posting later or tomorrow! :thumb

Well, Sheila didn't get a rose :lol I'm only on my second season of The Bachelor, but am finding they really need to do something different to stand out in the short time they have to grab the bachelor's attention :lol
I am disappointed in some of Jake's choices, and some he sent home, guess we always will be.
I'm happy Jessie from Oakville, Ontario made it through :bouncy and liked Tenley who got the first impression rose :wink
Surprised he kept Michelle, even Jillian and Ed were kinda giving off vibes about her :para
Sounds like the drama will soon begin :eek :popcorn

Here is the list of women with + by the ones who were given a rose.

•Alexa, 25, an entrepreneur from Galloway, OH

+•Ali, 25, an advertising account manager from Williamstown, MA

+•Ashleigh, 25, an account manager from North Potomac, MD

+•Ashley, 29, a teacher from Pittsburgh, PA

•Caitlyn, 24, a spokesmodel from Winfield, IL

•Channy, 29, a mortgage loan officer from Santa Rosa, CA

+•Christina, 25, a restaurant manager from San Diego, CA

+•Corrie, 23, a wardrobe consultant from Kissimmee, FL

+•Elizabeth, 29, a nanny from Imperial, NE

•Elizabeth, 29, a Captain in the Air National Guard, from Washington, D.C.

+•Ella, 30, a single mother (8-year-old son, Ethan) and hair stylist from Lafollette, TN

•Emily, 23, a fit model from West Chester, OH

+•Gia, 26, a swimsuit model from New York, NY

+•Jessie, 25, a cosmetic sales manager from Oakville, Ontario, Canada

+•Kathryn, 25, a corporate flight attendant from Lexington, KY

•Kimberly, 24, a NBA dancer from Norman, OK

•Kirsten, 25, a waitress from Aurora, CO

+•Michelle, 26, an office manager from Anaheim, CA

+•Rozlyn, 28, a single mother (son, Ayden, age 7) and model/makeup artist from Richmond, VA

•Sheila, 25, a commercial pilot from San Juan Capistrano, CA

•Stephanie, 24, a dance teacher from Morris, IL

+•Tenley, 25, a college admissions from Newberg, OR

•Tiana, 31, a medical technician from Vancouver, BC, Canada

+•Valishia, 32, a single mother (son, Blake, age 6; son, Vann, 2) and homemaker from Carlsbad, CA

+•Vienna, 23, a marketing representative from Sanford, FL

I think Michelle is a little scary  :para and Vienna too into herself and immature.  I don't remember her name but the blonde in the green dress who brought jelly beans for the departing ladies seems a little scary, too.

I like Ali, who is afraid of flying, and the school teacher, Ashley.  I think it is Tenley who got the first impression rose, but did she tell Jake she has been married before?   So many women, it's hard to keep them all straight.  Poor Jake looked like a deer caught in the headlights most of the evening.  More drama for sure!!

:hugs

Prissy, I wait for your posts here :lol I can't remember if Tenley has been married before, but she kissed Jake, and got teary, cause she said she hadn't kissed a guy for awhile, she seems sweet.
I found Valisha a little OTT :para, and I think Channy's chances went out the window when her translation of her Cambodian phrase was "You can land your plane on my landing strip anytime"~~~what?????????

Sharon,

Even on ET, they spoke about one of the girls and a producer on the show!   And I read a lot of the comments after Chris's blog, and some seem to already know what's going on!   I think they want it to look more shocking than it is.

I have a feeling that Jake picked the girls he's most interested in, and the producers or ??  helped him to pick the rest of the 15 including scary Michelle!! :eek

Front runners seem to be Tenley and Ali.  Many of the comments seemed surprised there were so many "models" picked for Jake.  That doesn't seem like Jake's style.  He keeps saying he's more interested in the girl's heart and character than the outside.  Yet, there were three, Gia, Vienna, and Roszlyn who seemd like they were there to promote themselves.  :shock

Sharon,

I really need to go to orchestra practice tomorrow evening, so I will tape or TiVo THE BACHELOR.   Last week I decided not to go to the first rehearsal, and I heard from a flute player in the orchestra that the school where we rehearse was locked (school holiday) so the rehearsal had to be cancelled.  I made the right decision! :thumb

Maybe tomorrow we will find out about the girl and the producer??!!  :shock

Oh what a night :doh :jaw Firstly I really like Jake, how has he not met the right lady before this show??? he is sweet, very cute, successsful pilot, and owns a lovely home, what is wrong :bduh
The date with Ali was so neat, reminded me of Jillian's first date with~~~Jake~~~what??? It was Jake wasn't it, that first date with a band and dancing :para
I really like most of the ladies too, but our Canadian Jessie needs to be more visible, too quiet, wake up Jessie, he's a catch :lol
What does everyone think about Elizabeth not wanting Jake to kiss her???
Gotta look up to see if I'm right about Jillian's first date. :moped After all Prissy keeps impeccable notes :wink :clap

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 11, 2010, 09:18:23 PM
Shocking! :shock

Can't believe that Rozlyn could be so stupid!  And then when confronted to tell Chris that it was her own business!  I am disappointed that Jake couldn't see through her, and he gave her a rose! :shock

I still like Ali and Tenely, but Tenely needs to let Jake know that she's been married.  I don't think Jake will care about her having been married but will not understand why she hasn't told him.

I really enjoyed Ali and Jake's "flying" date.  Ali is the one who said she was so afraid of flying.

Sharon,
It was Jake and Jillian that had that first date where they danced to a band.

Skip likes Michelle, but I still think Jake needs to send her home;  too scary!!

Ashley, the teacher, and Christina, the restaurant manager, were the ones leaving.  12 ladies left.

Prissy, my Mom really likes Michelle too :nixweiss:
In thinking some more, I was kinda surprised at the tender age of 25 that Ali has had 4 "serious" relationships as she told Jake~~~and all 4 guys names started with "J" :para call me old fashioned, but isn't that a few too many "serious" relationships for that age??

Rozlyn was too forward IMO.  I didn't trust her at all to be there for the right reason; Jake.

I did see a bit of the show last night.  It's TIVO'd so I can watch the rest while folding clothes later!

I saw part of Ali's date.  I like her a lot!  So pretty but sweet as well.

Hey, y'all!

This evening I watched some ET's I had TiVo'd and the one on this evening.  Rozlyn is saying she never had an affair or anything.  Chris came right out and said she is lying!!  I don't think Rozlyn can be trusted to tell the truth.  Just my own opinion.

From the promos tucked in to the show and ET, it looks like Jake is in for more drama.  We see him burning a rose and then leaving an interview in a "huff!"

I say Ali, Ella and Elizabeth will go far.

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 14, 2010, 02:32:41 PM
Sharon,

I am still thinking it will be Ali and Tenley at the end.  I am leaning toward Ali.  When Jake asked her about her last serious relationships, I'm hoping they weren't that serious and just the last four boyfriends she had.   Funny that each guy's name started with a "J."

I think they make a cute couple.  I still think Tenley is making a mistake in not telling Jake she has been married before.  Honesty seems very important to Jake, because he's such an upstanding kind of guy.

I hope Michelle goes this week even though Skip and your mom like her!!!  I wonder how many will go home on Monday!  Will it be down to 10 and just two go home!!  I'm going to check some past shows!!

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 14, 2010, 02:48:50 PM
As well as I can figure out from the Jason Bachelor show, here are the numbers:

25 girls,  then

15

12

 9

 5

 3

 2

 WINNER!!

Personally, I think they should not start out with 25 and expect the Bachelor to eliminate 10 after the first evening!!  What if he lets his true soul mate go because he didn't get a chance to know her!!  I don't understand this logic.   Then after the 15, it's only a few girls eliminated at a time.

It they are going to start with 25, just eliminate 5 after the first night;  then from that 20, another 5 the next week.  It should take at least two weeks to get down to 15.

But so far, no  one from THE BACHELOR has called for my opinion!!  :oh

Las tone I saw was the fiasco episode with Rozlyn.
Maybe I just didn't pay attention that there were only
12 left?  :nixweiss:

Did any of you watch the "more to love" show?
I really like it. Hope they run another season of it.

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 14, 2010, 08:28:19 PM
Monica,

You did not miss a show!  The second episode started out with the 15 girls and three got roses on their dates:  Rozlyn, Elizabeth and Ali.  Rozlyn had to give her rose back.  (Jake even said, "Can I get my rose back?")  So, besides Rozlyn, two others had to leave to make 12.  And they were:

Ashley, the teacher, and Christina, the restaurant manager.

About Rozlyn, Chris and THE BACHELOR show never said there was a sexual relationship, just an inappropriate relationship going on between Rozlyn and the staffer.  Any affection towards someone other than THE BACHELOR is unacceptable on the show!  Rozlyn seems like bad news anyway!

Thanks, Sharon!  I'm still waiting for my call to be a producer on the show!! :wink  :lol

CAN YOU ALL BELIEVE THERE HAVE ONLY BEEN TWO SHOWS!!  So much has happened in just two weeks!! :shock

Monica,

I thought she was wrong not to tell Jake she had been married, but to go on this show and knowing she is pregnant!!!!   She gave the impression that she had only been "with" her husband and it had been a heartbreaking divorce!!

This is definitely the MOST DRAMATIC BACHELOR SHOW EVER!!   :faint

Sharon,

I was watching my recording of today's ALL MY CHILDREN when THE BACHELOR promo came on.  Very briefly at the end of the promo, Tenley is looking at Jake and says, "I'm pregnant."   Poor Jake.   Now, if something comes out about Ali, that will be almost too much to deal with!!

Monica,

I agree!   After all this, I surely hope that Jake has found his true love.  He deserves it.  (Please don't let it be Michelle.) :pray

I DID like Ali, but not anymore.  She is very judgmental and confrontational.  I guess I didn't see enough back episodes to see what all those girls have against Vienna?  It almost feels like mob mentality.  At least Michelle didn't join in with all that crap!  I actually started to respect her a little...for about 10 seconds! :lol

The previews made it look like Ali and Vienna are gonna be fighting all next week, and that Jake will dump them both.  But then they talked about Tenley confessing to being pregnant, and that was a load of crapola, nothing like that happened at all! :nixweiss:

I really like Ella now!  She seems classy.  Don't remember if she was joining in with the mob about Vienna or not; would like to know that before I really root for her!

I just finished watching tonight's episode.

I had a lot of trouble understanding Tenley when she was "confessing" to Jake about her marriage.  I never heard her say, "I'm pregnant."  So????   That must happen in a later episode.

I am glad Michelle is gone.  Just something about her.  She seemed more interested in being the next one married in her family than falling in love.

Elizabeth was playing too many games with Jake and that is the reason she's gone, I'm pretty sure.  The other gal leaving, Valisha, never seemed to have much time with Jake.

Elizabeth, Valisha, and Michelle are gone.

Karen,
I still like Ali.  I think she was trying to stand up to Vienna in defense of some of the other girls;  kind of like a protector.  Ella is a very class act, and I don't see her joining in all the "drama" in the house.

I think Jake still cares for Tenley, but I am wondering. still, about the "I'm pregnant"  line.  How long will we have to wait for that to be explained.

And next week Jake doesn't want to give out the final two roses.  If they follow the Bachelor count down, next week he should end up with five girls.  If he doesn't give out two of the roses, then there will be only three girls left.  That's rushing the season, but maybe Jake is getting a little tired of the whole thing and is ready to wrap it up.  Tonight is the first time I've seen him so tense and kind of upset.

Can't wait for the blogs!

Why does this season seem like it just started but is almost finished :lol
Valisha, Corrie and Jessie are really still a mystery to me, don't know too much about them as they haven't been very aggressive.  That's why I'm sure Valisha is gone.
I thought it a little early to bring Ella's son in, even though she misses him and it was her birthday.  Someone will remember which other season one of the ladies son's was brought in and she ran down the beach to greet him???It was much later in the show though.

Sharon,

That was Stephanie from Jason's Bachelor season.  Stephanie was the mother who's husband had been killed in a plane crash.  She had that cute little blond girl and they were at an amusement park, too, Legoland, I think?

The producers probably remembered what a great moment that was with Stephanie and her little girl and wanted to recapture it with Ella and her son.

This does seem like a fast season, and this is just the third show!! :shock  I don't think Jake realized how difficult it is to be the bachelor.  All the drama with the girls seems hard on him.  I felt sorry for Valisha when she said this is how her life is....things never work out for her, and she looked so sad.  I hope she finds someone special.

We have not seen any air time with Jessie.  I feel like I hardly know her or Katherine. very well.  But Jake may have had more time with them and we just didn't see those scenes because of editing.

I will see if the blogs are ready yet.

I found Chris's blog about last night:

CHRIS HARRISON'S BLOG, EPISODE 3 (http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/01/19/chris-harrison-bachelor-blog-episode-3/)

On this blog page, I watched the deleted scene with Jake and Tenley but had no sound.  I hope someone will watch and tell me what happens!!  Maybe she says something about her, "I'm pregnant" line.  The way they are laughing, I wonder if she said it as a joke!!??

Thanks, Sharon!

I thought that might be a joke!  Not too funny when you hear just the line, "I'm pregnant!"

Monica,

Tenley is a naughty girl.

I'm still thinking Tenley and Ali for Jake!  They were my first impressions.  I feel like Vienna does not have a lot of substance to her.  Remember the first introductions where she said she is a Daddy's girl and he gets her anything she wants.  I hope Jake sees her for the shallowness of her character.

But remember Jake says he doesn't see what all the girls see and hear in the house.  He only knows what he observes himself!  I wonder what he thinks as he watches the show like all of us.  I must go look for Jake's blog.

Prissy- There's just something about Vienna that I don't think mixes with Jake's personality. It might be that she is "spoiled" I think that's why she gets into it with the other girls so easy because nobody just gives into things she says.

I wanna give another THANK GOD
for Michelle being gone :lol

I like Ella and Tenley :bigsmile

I dunno, I have this feeling that Jake isn't going to propose to anyone. :icon_rolleyes:

For one thing, if he was 'in love' not that long ago with Jillian, I wonder if he is truly ready to make a commitment.

It didn't seem like there were any sparks with Ella last night, but it could be cuz her little kid was with them all day!! :hypno

Prissy, thanks for posting these pictures of the nine left!   :clap

I think Jake made the right decisions sending Michelle and Elizabeth home.  I must confess I have read some of the info out there and don't know if it's true or not but I have read who the Final Four will be, but I think we will know that on Monday if Jake doesn't want to hand out all the roses.

We shall see what develops!!

It's BACHELOR MONDAY!  :wheee

I will go to orchestra practice this evening and will have to watch my recording of the show.  It should be exciting tonight, especially the rose ceremony.  Normally, the nine would be whittled down to five, but with Jake, you never know!!  :dunno

From what I've been reading, it will go down to a Final Four, but we shall just have to wait and see.

I have decided to miss orchestra practice this evening.  I just returned from the dentist and I'm sort of in a quandary.  I may have to have another tooth removed solely because it was a partner in my upper jaw of a tooth I had removed from my lower jaw.  It's hard to think of taking out a perfectly good tooth because it is shifting.  I may get a second opinion on this.

I could possibly still have a tooth implanted where the one was removed and then see about keeping the upper tooth.  Very frustrating!  :pullhair

Anyway!  I will distract my mind from "tooth matters" with "Bachelor matters" this evening!  :thumb   Can't wait to see what happens.  I caught the end of an appearance by Jake on Bonnie Hunt's show today.  Bonnie was talking to her mother by satellite and Jake was joining in.  I didn't hear anything about the show.

Shocked that he sent both Ella and Kathryn home
Thought Ashleigh came off a little sleazy in her time with Jake early in the show for the group date.  Jake is such a natural guy :quote I'm actually surprised that the women chosen for this show aren't a little more compatible, he's having a tough time :blush
Prissy, do we have the right number of ladies left at this point normally :lol

Title: Re: The Bachelor

Sharon I am the same. I really figured Ella would stay. But BOTH going?
Jake knows what he wants and he's not letting anything stop him, that's
for sure!

Tenley is now my number 1 girl in the running

I don't care for Vienna for my own reasons, she doesn't seem right for him
and a bit flakey. But the girls are acting much more harsh to her for it to be
just that. I don't know what's going on.

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on January 25, 2010, 08:31:34 PM
I did watch THE BACHELOR (did not go to orchestra practice) and then I watched my recordings of ALL MY CHILDREN and then ET!

This was some night for THE BACHELOR.

Sharon,

Here are the numbers for THE BACHELOR with Jason:

25 girls,  then

15

12

 9

 5

 3

 2

 WINNER!!

Jake has gone from 25 to 15 to 12 and started out with 9 tonight.

Gia got the first rose tonight with her one on one date.

Then in the group date with Jessie, Ashleigh, Corrie, Ali, Tenley, and Vienna,  Tenley got the group date rose.

Then as we all saw, neither Ella nor Kathryn got a rose in the two on one date with Jake.  I really think Jake knew Ella would not be his pick, and he didn't want to keep her away from her son any longer.  I don't think he felt a connection with Kathryn.

So, at the rose ceremony, we had 7 girls, two, Gia and Tenley, already with roses.  Of the five left, Jake only gave out roses to Ali, Corrie, and Vienna! :shock

Jessie and Ashleigh went home.  I feel like we never got to see any clips with Jessie;  just a little bit tonight.

Did you notice how both Alshleigh and Jessie turned away from Vienna to say their "good-byes" at the end?  No one would speak to Vienna.  I really wonder what Jake thinks when he is watching the shows now as we all are and seeing things he never saw!!

So now we have five left, which seems the correct number!  (It kind of makes you wonder why four roses were there at the rose ceremony, if Jake is to end up with five ladies???  Yet, if he had kept, say, Kathryn, and give the extra rose to, say, Jessie,  then we would have seven instead of five! ) :doh

My favorite two are still the same:  Ali and Tenley.   I think Gia and Lorrie are both nice enough but I don't see that close a connection with Jake.  I think Vienna is bad news just like all the girls feel.  Too bad Jake can't accept that.  But every time someone tries to tell Jake about Vienna, that girl is sent home. It's almost like Jake wants to protect her from the other girls, and the more he hears negative things the closer he feels to Vienna!! Jake may identify with her on being an outcast.  We don't know.   I just hope Ali and Tenley can keep their mouths shut about Vienna!!!  :oh

Chris is supposed to be on Ellen tomorrow, Wednesday.  I will try to catch that.

I actually watched my TiVo recording of some of THE BACHELOR again.  Jake is such a cute guy!   No wonder all of those girls want him.  He really has a connection to Ali, and Tenley, too.  I just hope that Ali doesn't let her feelings for Vienna keep her from Jake. :cross

I just hope Jake is seeing those red flags about Vienna.  And I hope that the producers have asked him to keep Vienna a little longer and that she really isn't Jake's choice, but they really bonded on that bungee jumping date.  Why couldn't it have been Ali on that date with him!!!  :doh That was a crucial time in the show.

I thought Jake was supposed to be on Ellen at some point but I think I may have missed it.

I did watch Chris Harrison on Ellen yesterday!!  He said Jake had turned out to be more forceful than they thought he would be, in that he knows what he wants to do and lets lets the producers and Chris know.  He is there to find a wife.

Ellen said she thought Jake was the best bachelor they have ever had on the show, and I know Ellen watches this show 'religiously."

I just wish I had seen Jake on Ellen.  :doh

Missed the show this week; it's recorded tho.
I was pretty sure Ella would leave.

It's funny, all the girls are against Vienna, and it puts them in a bad light.  I liked Ali a lot, but they are making her come across as a b*tch.  Why??  They aren't giving us enough of Vienna's supposed behavior to figure out why to dislike her!
I dunno WHO to like fo him now!

Title: Re: The Bachelor

Karen,

I felt early on that there was a connection between Ali and Jake, but her focus is so much on how much she dislikes Vienna instead of how much she likes Jake.

I have read a little of what may happen, and I really hope it doesn't.  We will just have to see how it all plays out.

It does seem like every gal there does not like Vienna.  There has to be something about Vienna to cause these strong reactions.  The ladies were actually upset to see Ella and Kathryn go, but I think there would be lots of celebrating if Vienna were to go.

Karen,

I clicked on the video but just saw Gia with Jake and Vienna sneaking around....no sound so I don't know what was happening.

Gia did have a one on one date with Jake last Monday.  They had hot dogs and marshmallows at a camp fire.  Gia is a beautiful girl and a swimsuit model and I think Jake feels an attraction for her.  She does seem sweet but not real adventuresome.  When raccoons came around the RVs, Gia was the first one to run inside.

Who is in the threesome that you see?

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: karen28 on January 29, 2010, 04:51:29 AM
Prissy, it seems like it's a 2-girl, 1-guy date with just Gia, Vienna and Jake.  Jake takes Gia off for a little one-on-one time and of course, Vienna comes looking for them.  Looks like it's some kind of wine cellar??  I guess they haven't had this date yet?
You couldn't hear the dialog?  It's kinda funny to me.  As Jake is pulling Gia away, she tells Vienna that Vienna can eat the rest of Gia's salmon while she's gone. :lol  Dunno, that really struck me funny! :lmao
On the "un-funny" side, those dates usually end up with only one rose, and the other goes home.  Tho Jake has shook things up this year and either gave 2 roses, or none at all!! :icon_eek:  Wonder what happens?? :bite

They had a bunch of "sneak peek" video clips at that site but most had already happened that I watched.

Karen,

Now that Jake is down to five girls, which is the usual number for this point in the show, it makes me wonder if some of the things that happened on the last show were set up...... Jake not giving a rose to Ella or Kathryn on the "double" date, and not wanting to hand out one of the roses at the Rose Ceremony.  Of the nine girls, four would have gone home anyway, so it is perplexing!  :dunno

With the five left, I imagine he will have more one on one time.  This week, if the show follows tradition, two girls will leave and only three will be left.  We will just have to wait and see what happens.

I did see a clip where Jake is in bed and covers up to his waist.  Vienna goes into his bedroom with a drink and climbs on the bed.  Of course, a camera just happens to follow her in!  :lol

Sharon,

It is really hard to leave and have to wait until after orchestra practice for THE BACHELOR!!  5 ladies so 2 should go home tonight, but with Jake, you never know!  He may make a clean sweep and send them all away. :lol    I'm still afraid he's leaning toward the wrong gal for him!!  :doh

I'm not sure Jake would appreciate "J" getting in his bizness at this point!!

I just finished watching THE BACHELOR.  Skip watched it with me and even though I fast forwarded through the commercials, we like San Francisco, so we stopped and back tracked to see some of the scenes!!  :bigsmile

I agree with Karen.  I thought it would be Corrie going home, too.  Jake just didn't have a connection and the fun with her he has with the other four.

Lndsay,
I still don't see what he sees in Vienna.  She does seem so immature.

Sharon,
Someone whose name starts with a J and is from Canada?  And I don't think you mean Jessie!   Remember that they had Deanna come back and talk to Jason and say she made a mistake.  So we're thinking Jillian makes a visit to Jake.  Does she say she's given up Ed?  :doh  I think they are just trying to create more :drama

If there isn't a rose ceremony, that could mean one of the ladies has decided to leave on her own, but all four of them were standing there in line!  Or is Jake now engaged to Jillian, so all the girls will go.  That just seems too farfetched!  :pullhair

My two favorites are still there:  Ali and Tenley!

Nope not Jessie :lol

Prissy, Mom thought the same, maybe it's just a Canadian thang :lol
It could  very well be no rose ceremony because someone decides to leave on their own, but after a hometown date???? YIKES never quite seen the likes of this season :drama

Poor Jake!  All he wants is a wife.  As someone said in a comment on one of the blogs, even if he doesn't find love with these girls, there are probably thousands of young ladies across the country, maybe world, ready to get in line to meet him!!

I just hope the spoilers about the show are not true!! :cross

Oh boy, I'm really disappointed :icon_frown: Loved the hometown visits.  I was so touched by Tenley creating an expressive lyrical dance for Jake :dance and especially her dad :hugg He adores her the way a father should. But who knows. The phone will ring next week and it will be Ali!

I loved Tenley's dance as well Sharon. it was beautiful. I absolutly don't understand Vienna. I really felt for Ali tonight.  You could tell how torn she was.  She just didn't want to take a chance on losing her job and perhaps losing Jake, too.  So sad!  I wish Jake had said, "Ali, you're the one for me.  I'm tossing away all the roses except one for you.  Go back and do your job and I will join you in San Francisco as soon as I can, and we will plan our future together!"

But no!!  I think Jake is smitten with that  :cuss  Vienna.  Doesn't he see how high maintenance she will be?  Her father was creepy.  Vienna's his princess and nothing is too good for her.  Jake, WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!  You are a disappointment if you end up with Vienna.

So, I guess you all know how I feel.

Of the three left, I'm for Tenley, but I really felt Ali was his soul mate.  She really loved him!!

Sharon,
The predictions are coming true!  :eek

WHY would Ali's place of work let her take off all this time, then in the final 2 weeks, give her an ultimatum?? :doh   I don't understand.

Bringing over my comments from RTM:

I really like Gia for Jake; think she is a nice person inside.  She didn't go along with the "mob mentality" about Vienna. I can't get past how Ali acted throughout the show about Vienna.  I'm sure there is lots we aren't seeing from behind the scenes, tho.  I just hope Jake gets a girl who is there for HIM, and not just getting her name out there for fame purposes.

Anyone think Jake should land a part in a movie or the lead in a TV show?  He is just sooo cute and sweet! (oh wait - he DID land the lead in a TV show!! :lol )

I love Tenley for him, too.  But my husband says Jake won't pick her because her voice is irritating.  Too high pitched I guess.  This from someone who hasn't been watching, just happened to walk through the room last night!! :lol

I agree with you and the article.  Seems too scripted, and too much like the Ed/Jillian deal.  I'm disappointed in this "plot;" there is quite enough drama going on with Jake having to choose the 'girl of his dreams' without throwing this stuff in there.

Unless this is actually a plot by Ali to try to get Jake to choose her like Jillian chose Ed.  I can't believe she would put him through all that if it was faked tho.

Regardless, I'm hooked on the show, and will be there to see what drama occurs next week!! :lol :lol  I'm cynical, but addictive by nature.  Same with American Idol; I get cynical about the choices the judges make to get to the 'final 24,'  but I'm there every week anyway!!!

I guess I'm gullible because I really believed that Ali was shattered to have to leave for her job.  It does seem a coincidence that the same thing happened with Ed and Jillian on THE BACHELORETTE.

I agree about Tenley's voice.  Skip and I have a difficult time understanding her at times when she speaks.

Hello!

I"m glad you all enjoy the blogs!  I like to read what Chris and Jake have to say after each show, and I do read many of the comments, too.

I don't know where I read this;  maybe one of the blog comments, but someone said that when Jake is upset he smiles with his mouth closed;  when he is fine or happy, he smiles with his mouth open.  I have noticed his "pursed" lips a few times.

I still have the last episode recorded.  I may go back and watch the drama with Ali again.  Everything I read and even hear on TV points to it all being a set up!!  Of course, the cameras were there, so they had to know that Ali was coming with a big announcement.  I imagine she had to let the producers and/or Chris know that she wanted to talk to Jake, and they wanted to film whatever she said.  That was my thought.

I wonder if the three left will meet Jake's family.  I would like to see his parents and brothers.  I believe he said that everyone in his family is a doctor except for him.

Always more :drama    :doh

Sharon,

I thought I read that all of Jake's family are doctors, but I don't find that anywhere now!!  I did find this:

Fortunate to discover his passion at a young age, Jake Pavelka started taking flying lessons at age 12. An accomplished pilot, Jake Pavelka became an airline captain flight instructor at 23. On his days off, Jake Pavelka has fun flying acrobatic planes, taking dance lessons and woodworking at the home he owns near Dallas. Jake Pavelka's parents have had a long and happy marriage, and it seems to run in the family, as Jake also has two happily married brothers—older brother Jason and younger brother Matt—and two nieces.

Jake Pavelka grew up in Denton, Texas, and attended University of North Texas and Embry Engineering University for Aerospace Science.

I agree with Jake on not bringing Ali back, not fair to the others, and would have put a whole new spin on things. I find it so surreal that in one week, his feelings for her had to change so dramatically, that's the nature of the show :nixweiss:
Vienna is immature, he admits it, but I think that draws him to her in some strange way :doh Tenley is so sweet, I like her alot and I think she's gonna get her heart broken :bang I had my doubts til tonight that she was ready to give her heart, she did whole heartedly, Jake pick Tenley!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on February 16, 2010, 05:40:32 AM
I did watch the show after orchestra practice, and I'm not too happy with Jake.

If he had feelings for Ali, they would not be gone so quickly, and he would have wanted her to come back.  She probably should have just come back on her own.

When he asked Vienna what kind of ring she liked, I thought, oh no, that's it.  She is going to be the one left standing at the end.  I'm really starting to wonder about Jake.  He is choosing the youngest and most immature of them all.  Also, the one with the most questionable past!!

I am really starting to think this show is scripted.  Especially with the cameras all ready to capture Alli's phone call to Jake!  And Jake with cameras ready to film his receiving the call.

I think they are setting Ali up to be the next Bachelorette.  She did look kind of pathetic, though, there at the end;  not too glamorous.

Gia was beautiful and sweet, but not much depth to her.  I was not surprised to see her go.  And I think the physical attraction for Jake to Vienna is much more than it is to Tenley.

It is still possible that Jake doesn't pick either one.  Who knows?

I'm starting to not believe that Jake was sincere about wanting to find a wife.  I think he may want to be an actor or get into television.  Maybe he saw being the Bachelor as a means to that.  I am losing faith in this show.  :cry

Sharon,

At this point, I'm not sure what to think of Ali.  On ELLEN, she said the filming was finished before Thanksgiving, so a lot of time has elapsed.

Tonight is THE WOMEN TELL ALL, so that should be interesting.  Again, I will have to watch my recording of it when I return from orchestra practice.  Skip has become "involved" in the show and is watching it with me!   He says he's busy on his laptop, but......! :wink

From the promo clips, it looks like Rozlyn, the gal who left because she was too "intimate" with a staff member on the show, gets "grilled" by Chris and the girls.

Always more  :drama

Skip and I just watched THE WOMEN TELL ALL.

I cannot believe the audacity of Rozlyn.  In spite of what the women had to say about what they had seen, she said in effect that they were lying.  And then she tried to make Chris look bad.  She admitted that this producer had been to visit her and they were still in contact.  Such a dishonest, dishonorable person.  It was hard to even look at her.  She is a true example of how an ugly inner spirit can make the outer appearance ugly, too.  I was glad when she was finally gone.

Kudos to Chris for keeping his cool in his interview with her.  He is a real gentleman and Rozlyn is certainly no "lady."

I still wish it would be Jake and Ali.  Jake said he had hoped Ali would stop the limousine and run back to him, and Ali had hoped that Jake would fly to get her.  Miscommunication cost them so much!  :cry

Next week looks interesting.  Tenley and Vienna meet Jake's family.  Will they "love" Vienna?   Final show next week.  More :drama

Prissy, Rozlyn is a very delusional woman I think also, what was all that crap about :bduh is she in denial??? does she not know how idiotic that whole segment made her look???
Chris did keep his cool, under duress too, you could tell he was could have really gotten testy with her.
Michelle is another one :para she doesn't realize how she came across in the show either :para very strange woman.
Ali, Ali, Ali~~~ she will learn from this I'm sure, and she even thinks Jake will pick the "V" word :bang Gia seems to be well liked by the audience, she really is sweet, and will come away more confident also I hope :hugg
Yep, next week we know, and I don't think we're gonna like it :no

How does it all go down? You’ll have to watch one of the most emotional, romantic finales in Bachelor history to find out. I very much look forward to reading your comments this week.  :bite

Sharon,

I have read some of the comments under the Blogs.  There are some that think like me:  they want Jake to choose neither Tenley nor Vienna and go after Ali!  How great that would be!!  And Reality Steve would be left with "egg on his face."  :lol

Or, some comments have him picking Vienna and then breaking up with her and going after Ali!

On one of the clips of the visits to Jake's family, it looks like his family doesn't like Vienna, but we know how good this show is at taking things out of context, so......we'll just have to wait and see.

As always, more  :drama

I missed a few episode postings.

Jake has lost his mind... as far as this Vienna  :icon_rolleyes:
And I honestly think Rozyln ( :bduh ) needs help.. I mean come on...  :hypno
How could she put that on her child life that she was being truthful  :doh
Ali... ugh. She was PERFECT for him!  :naughty She will learn from this.

Obviously I'm in favor of him choosing Tenley!  :slick
Still wish that he would run after Ali!! I can't believe he didn't
let her come back!

Sharon, Karen, and Monica and other Bachelor Fans!

Monday is the Final and we will see what happens.  Also, it looks like there is an "after the final" show.  So, it will be interesting to see how this all plays out.  I would love a twist and Jake is with Ali!!  But that may be too far fetched.

Well, they already "borrowed" from the last Bachelorette (someone leaving, then wanting to come back), so why not borrow also from the last Bachelor, where he ditches the 'chosen one' a month or so after he picks her, and goes with another girl!

I'm trying to care..... :para :para
I was so excited about Jake becoming the next Bachelor because he seemed so genuine (and really, really cute!! :bigsmile), but how in the heck can he love all these girls??  I think he's hurting them more by saying that at these rose ceremonies, although he's probably in his mind trying to soften the blow. :bduh

Truthfully, I don't see Jake with any of the last 4 he had left, but then we don't really see how they are together, with cameras turned off.

Did you guys see the new teaser?  He has two rings, looking at them, back and forth, finally making his decision, and he's SURE.   :wink  I think the show is setting us up for another one where he can't decide, so he chooses nobody. :giggle

Been hearing some rumours that Melissa Rycroft will be in a segment of the show tonight announcing the new stars for this season's DWTS :dance and that she will be replacing Samantha Harris on the show :para did I miss something???  I know Samantha is on ET but missed that she wouldn't be back on DWTS if that's true. I love Samantha and Tom together :cry Anyone have any info???

Yep, she is leaving, Sharon.

Here is an article I found about who they are reportedly considering to replace her:
DWTS (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35569870/ns/entertainment-gossip/)

I'm pretty sure, whoever they choose, will have met with Tom Bergeron to see if their personalities are compatible.  At least, I HOPE!

Samantha Harris has been a correspondent on THE INSIDER for a while now.  I couldn't believe she would give up her "dream job" on DWTS to be on that entertainment show, but now I see she has a weekend job on ET.

Karen, thanks for the articles about DWTS.  I like Melissa Rycroft but I think one of the other two gals might be better for the co host job.  They both have experience hosting TV shows.

I believe I read that they will not have such a big number of contestants this time;  maybe start off with 10 or 12 and not 16.

I guess you all hare read that 3rd place DWTS winner, Marie Osmond, lost a son to suicide this weekend.  Very sad!

Just so long as Maks is back!!!  :bigsmile    :slick    I don't mind Karina being gone, but I did like Lacey and I thought Jonathan was a really nice guy, considering some of the celebrity partners he has had.  I do hope Edyta and her hubby Alec are back, also!

We may have to revive the DWTS thread fairly soon!! :lol    All this DWTS talk on THE BACHELOR thread.

Speaking of THE BACHELOR, I will again have to watch it after my orchestra practice.  I hope you all will go ahead and post and not wait for me.  I make it a point not to look at this thread until AFTER I've watched the show, so don't worry about giving anything away.

If Jake picks Vienna and Ali is the new BACHELORETTE, I will feel like the show is not kept secret very well.  Reality Steve seems to know everything that happens.  I wonder if they could film the show kind of as it goes along like DWTS??   Probably not, because of all the exotic locations.  Someone on the show is not trustworthy and he should be stopped!!! :lol

That pretty much sums it up...
I just don't understand, I thought Tenley and Jake were VERY natural together.
I just don't know what he sees in Vienna. Not at all. Maybe she will turn out to
be perfect for him and they will grow old together. And for Jake's sake, I hope so.
I feel AWFUL for Tenley. Poor girl. I'm glad that Jake seems to be sincere about
them all remaining good friends. I still feel like he will realize his mistake. RUN FOR ALI!

Title: Re: The Bachelor

I know I'm in the minority, but I never understood why I was supposed to dislike Vienna.
I think she and Jake seemed very natural together throughout their dates.  She did get a little weird for awhile, too possessive of him too early on, but overall I never minded if he chose her.  Tenley is a lovely girl, also very sweet.  Vienna just has that way about her that seemed to put Jake at ease, and they really had fun together.  I am wishing a happy marriage for them, and just hope she has matured enough to make him a good wife.

I'm also in the minority when I say I won't be interested in watching Ali be The Bachelorette.  She just seems fake to me somehow. :para  Don't hurt me!!! :lol

PRETTY COOL that Jake is going to be in DWTS; also our Evan Lycacek!  I WILL BE WATCHING FOR SURE!!!!!!! :bouncy :bouncy :bouncy

It all played out as predicted!!  Vienna is Jake's pick and Ali is the new Bachelorette!

I'm sensing that Jake felt more and more defensive and protective of Vienna as the show went on.  I will always think they bonded over the bungee jumping date!!

Jake on DWTS!  That should be fun!

Time will tell if Jake and Vienna's connection will last.

Title: Re: The Bachelor

Karen, we'd never hurt you :lol :slap I think my worry about Vienna was that she was a bit of a wild thing, had read many things about her, maybe as they said they were unfounded.  Her daddy is a little possessive too :para I thought Jake would be drawn to values, morals, sweet and kind, not a wild thing.  As the show went on I do agree that he and Vienna had fun and he seemed to like that immature, playful side to her.  I remember on the pirate ship when he smacked her butt with the sword, and they were so goofy together thinking he really is a bit immature himself :lol
Prissy, I will always think that first "leap of faith" was their defining moment also :lol

Sharon, I think that's exactly it!  Couldn't put my finger on it, but that's it!  Jake felt as if he couldn't be as goofy and immature with Tenley.  He just wasn't comfortable showing that goofy side to her.  But with Vienna, she's just as goofy right back at him, and it just seems natural.  Nothing wrong with having a goofy, playful side in this life.  There are plenty of times when we have to be "adults." :para

Title: Re: The Bachelor
Post by: Prissy on March 02, 2010, 06:52:32 AM
When Jake referred to Vienna as "his baby," that said a lot about what Jake was really looking for.  He wanted someone young to look after and protect and also a playful, fun gal.   Remember how his mom said that Jake was the one most likely to push you in the swimming pool?  So there was that side of Jake, a goofy side, we did not see that much.

There's always so much :drama on the show!!

Jake being on DWTS makes me also think that Jake may want to get more in to "show business" and is not that anxious to get back to being a pilot.  The fact that Vienna doesn't seem to have a career and can just be with Jake wherever he goes is probably a plus to him, too.

Ali choosing her career over Jake was probably a huge red flag to him in what he wanted in a wife.

Oops!

I almost forgot about Jake and Vienna on ELLEN, but I did tune in and recorded it, too.  Jake loves Vienna!  He even said he tried to have feelings for Tenley, but he already had feelings for Vienna.  Ellen told Vienna that she thought she had gotten a bad "rap" in the tabloids.  Jake is so cute.  I hope he will do well on DWTS.  I will probably vote for him!

Ellen said they should have Tenley on DWTS, too, because she is a dancer.  Ellen is funny.  She said, "Why do I have to think of all these things myself?"  I only saw Ellen once on AI, so I don't know how that is going for her!

Vienna and Jake are really making the rounds of the talk shows.  They were on Jimmy Kimmell last night.   Jimmy showed several magazines that had Jake and Vienna on the cover;  then he had some made up ones; with headlines kind of like VIENNA RESPONSIBLE FOR GLOBAL WARMING!   :lmao

On THE INSIDER, it looks like a former girlfriend of Jake is trying to say he still has an emotional tie to her.  I think it's just some gal trying to make trouble.  Of course, we realize that Jake has had girlfriends through the years.  Maybe, she called him and they talked and now she says he's "cheating" on Vienna.   :doh

I am following Jake and Vienna around to the talk shows!  :lmao  I tuned in to Bonnie Hunt and there were Jake and Vienna!   The more I see them, the more I am believing they are really in love.  Vienna said that the cars she "wrecked" were all clunkers.  She just graduated from college and she said she worked while in college and paid for the car she has now.   I think maybe Vienna is not such a bad gal as she's been portrayed!  :dunno

Jake is so cute!!  He is the best BACHELOR yet!!   :thud

Title: Re: The Bachelor

Sharon,

I think that the show really does "manipulate" what we see.  Jake even said he and Vienna had a long talk about their values and beliefs and none of that made it on the show.  Ellen used the word "editing" and Vienna said, "What you said!  We can't use that word."  I don't think the show is scripted so much, but that a lot of editing is done to show us what they want!

On one of the talk shows, Jake said he was able to help plan the dates, but not the whole thing so there were some surprises for him.  I can't imagine he wanted to bungee jump, however.

I still believe that Rozlyn was a "trampy type" and the girls would not lie about what they saw, especially Ella, on THE WOMEN TELL ALL.

Sharon,

I haven't watched it yet!  I hope I did get it TiVo'd.  I forgot to set the recorder and called Skip and asked him to!  :cross   It sounds lovely.  So no Ty in the wedding!!  Interesting!   I would have thought he might be a ring bearer or a part of the ceremony in some way.  In the weddings the quartet plays, often the children of one or both the bride or groom have a part in the vows.

Title: Re: The Bachelor

I did watch the wedding!  (It Tivo'd!!)  I believe if Molly's uncle (the officiator) had said a little less at the beginning, they might have finished the wedding before the rain poured again.  I did see a shot of Ty sitting with Jason's mother and Jason said that Ty was excited to be there in a suit and tie just like all the men.  He also said Ty ran and tackled him just before Molly made her entrance.

We did get to see "ghosts" of Bachelor and Bachelorettes Past!!   Deanna with the twin of a guy from Jillian's season;  Jillian and Ed, Trista and Ryan.  I didn't see Jake and Vienna at the wedding!  The snowboarder, Jesse, from Deanna's season and Richard??   Stephanie and ?? from Jason's season.  Can't remember some of the names.

I stopped the recording to watch Jason and Molly on Jimmy Kimmell.  Jimmy"s people shot a segment of a boring "reality" show with Jason and Molly.  In one scene Jason is hanging  a picture.  Molly: "Up, right, down!"  :sleep

Here is an observation from Skip that I almost missed from the clips showing Molly and Jason on THE BACHELOR!  Molly and Jason had a bungee jumping date just like Vienna and Jake did!!!!!!   The couple that "bungee jumps together stays together!!"  Enough said! :wink

Prissy, thought the same about the bungee jump :wink, and now I do remember seeing Ty sitting on the right, so that was Jason's first wife. I remember hearing Jason say to Chris somewhere that Ty wouldn't be involved, I must have missed seeing him run up to tackle Jason, or was it shown???  he is such a cute little guy :hugg

Also posted on the DWTS thread:

Jake and his dancing partner Chelsie (and Vienna) were on a local show called GOOD MORNING TEXAS.  Jake and Chelsie talked about DWTS and Chelsie said Jake probably didn't realize yet how much work it would be.  Vienna came out, too, and said she and Chelsie were good friends;  she wasn't jealous of her.  Jake and Chelsie did a few steps of Salsa.  I hope Jake improves!  :para

Jake did say when he was asked about being on DWTS, he said he would have to think about it and talk it over with Vienna.  Vienna said that she said call them right now; go; go!!

There was a cooking segment on the show and Jake, Vienna, and Chelsie came out to sample some food;  then there was a segment with a local band and Jake and Vienna were dancing and Chelsie danced with the co host of the program.
