Hi everyone!

Good morning everybody  :wave

I am so glad to be home today  :bduh.  Yesterday was another day that I was home hardly at all.  Diana and I went up to Dave's work.  She had a blast.  While we were there Diana wanted her coat out of my car.  Dave was kind enough to go get her coat.  When he came back to give it to her, she no longer wanted it  :lol.  He spent his lunch hour with us, but then had to leave to go to Ann Arbor.  Diana and I stayed until the end.  When I was walking to the car, I quickly realized that I did NOT have my keys  :bang.  I took Diana and went back to Dave's office and spoke to some people.  I had to borrow a car seat from someone, and someone else drove me home.  I had to be home to pick Nathan up from school.  I finally got ahold of Dave.  He came to the school, so that his coworker could back to work.  Now all 4 of us (Dave, me, Nathan, and Diana) went back to Southfield so that I could pick up my car.  By this time, 696 is a parkling lot, so we hung out at the office for an hour and a half, and then finally head home.  It was such a long day yesterday.  I am just glad to be home today  :bduh.  Now Dave's boss has told him that not only do I just deserve flowers, but after yesterday, I now deserve jewelry  :clap.

Good morning, CAROLYN!  So glad that you're up and posting and that your church is taking care of you with meals, etc.  :clap Our church is well-organized in that manner, too.  Several  years ago I served as our church's Compassionate Service Leader,  which meant I was in charge of coordinating meals and other help for members who were in need.  Not a small task, indeed!  And doesn't food always taste even better when It's brought over instead of your having to cook it?   :wink

Phil and I will be out most of the day.  Thankfully Mimi will be taken care by the sweet little neighbor girl.  I'm dreading the time when she finally discovers boys.....then my dogsitter will be no more!   :bang

Rainy day today, but tomorrow promises to be sunny and a little cooler!  Perfect for being outside!!! Have a good one!

My son couldn't find his cell phone this morning.  I've been looking for it; and I've called it about 5 times while walking around the house, trying to hear it vibrate (he usually has the ringer off).

Well, he just called from a classroom and wanted to know what was wrong.   He apparently had it all along. :bang :bang  Hope he doesn't get into trouble by having that phone go off so many times, and then having to call me during class!!  :arg I hope he still had the ringer off!  :para :blush

BARB, you are really a true Clay fan.  All the travel troubles from NY and I remember the Christmas concert and your travels home having to spend the night on the way home.  My gosh lady you have gone thru a lot, your a better woman than I am. 

KIM, my friend PRISSY sent me a package today.  I was thrilled as she sent me the CLAY pin of Linda Hubners drawing of CLAY, I was really impressed with it plus she sent me some pecan pralines shaped like the state of Texas, they are wonderful.  Prissy is the bright spot in my life.  Oh by the way did you ever get your tan today??????   :lol  I am sitting looking at the picture of Clay you sent me and as I look at it I still am amazed that someone could actually draw that good.  Remember that portrait of that little girl you were doing?  How did the parents like it???

SHARON, sure hope you had a decent sales day today.  Hope you didn't have far to travel with the gas prices.  These gas prices have really affected  us on a fixed income, it has really limited our travel a great deal.

Well I am off to have a piece of cake and a glass of cold milk.

Hi Shirley, thanks for asking about me. I have just been busy with real life. The girls have been here because my son's washing machine broke so Kristen has been here washing clothes. Funny you should mention the hot tub. I have been packing today because we leave early in the morning to get Brandon back to Camp Lejuene, He has to be there Sunday. It is just him, Carrie and me going. Carrie and I are staying until Wednesday morning. We are taking a few days for just the 2 of us. I am so looking forward to spending time alone with my daughter just relaxing on the beach or by the pool. The only bad part is leaving Brandon again, however we know it is a good thing. It is unbelievable the change in him. He is truly a man now. I am so proud of him but I have to admit I miss my little "Scoots" that is what I used to call him until he started playing hockey and he asked me to please just call him Brandon when he is on the ice.  :lmao
I hope you all have a great weekend in the new mansion. I will be back Wednesday to check out the decor. With all the  :wow :flame :flame :wow shots of our BF it should be no problem filling the walls with  :thudable pictures.

WHEW - N.E. Wisconsin is having thunderstorms.  I had my computer off and I just turned it on to catch up on the news. :blush

I'm not caught up yet . . . but I will be!  I thought I could catch up on some sleep, laundry and some fun computer stuff . . . but NO!  Tomorrow morning, I will be at the Oconto Golf Club (not golfing).  Oconto is hosting the District 8 Woman's Club Spring Meeting.  The chairman of this event had a death in her family so I'll be getting more involved than I intended to be.  It starts with a light breakfast and then the meeting with speakers, etc.  Noon lunch will be catered in. :clap  It should be all done by 2 PM. 

Tomorrow night is the Prom.  Lexie and her date will be going with a big group.  I better recheck my camera batteries because I really want some pictures.   :blush

SHIRLEY -  I have had some travel woes . . . but I wouldn't change a  moment of it. I absolutely love seeing Clay.  I truly enjoy being a Clay fan . . . and the fact that we all know each other because of Clay.  And, he sure is easy on the eyes.  :blush I truly hope that YOU are one of the people that I get to meet during the next concert season. :hugg

BETH - You have had some frustrating adventures the past few days . . .but sounds like Dave is trying to make up for it. :wink

Just walked in, went out dinner with my SIL right after getting home from business.  I'm pooped, but wanted to stop into the new RTM house to say hi :wave and goodknight :dust :dust

Hi.  Got back from Emily's play an hour ago.  She was wonderful, of course.  I am in a lot of pain right now.  "Sponge bathing" was very interesting.  I stood on one foot in the tub.

Now, Mary...we were outside a LOT in NYC (where Clay was).  Did NYC smell like fresh laundry????????  :rofl

Carolyn...if you don't have a stool to sit on, you can use a lawn chair in the shower.  That's what I did when I broke my foot years ago (of course I had a hand-held shower in a bathtub).  I had to keep my cast outside the tub and sitting in a lawn chair and resting my leg on the side of the tub helped.  If you have a shower stall, that might be harder.

SHARON, thanks so much for fixing breakfast this morning.  I was just on the phone with Preston (can't all 8 month old babies talk on the phone to grandma?  :lol) and he said he was coming over today.  So I thought what can I fix for dinner without exhausting me so took some frozen lasagna out of the freezer and will fix green beans and cole slaw so that will be easy.  Good thing I made a cake yesterday;. 

SASHA, good morning lady!  Always great to see you and the fabulous pictures you bring to us.  Enjoy your day you deserve some pampering.  Supposed to get cold here again by this afternoon and possible snow by Monday.  My daffs are blooming this is crazy weather.

CINDY, I don't think you would like Phoenix as much from June to October.  You went at the best time of the year.  You didn't even see the pretty part of Arizona.  The Sedona and Flagstaff area are our favorites.  My son lives in the Cave Creek area and has lived there for 20 years.

Shirley, we went to Sedona two years ago, and fell in love with it!  Prettiest area I've ever been to!  Also, it's at least 10 degrees cooler than Phoenix (at least when we were there - in August).  Phoenix was way too hot for my taste!

Morning, Sharon, you had a busy day yesterday!  Hope sales were better!  Friday is a lot of people's pay day, so here's hoping they spent their paychecks on clothes and accessories!! :hugg

Marilyn,  sounds like great advice for Carolyn.  I had a broken leg once, did the shower sprayer thing too, but didn't use a lawn chair!  Wish I'd have thought of that! :clap
 
Carolyn, fun times!  :lol  Something that helped me a lot was a rolling chair. (no, not in the shower!! :lol ) My mother-in-law brought down one of her kitchen chairs with rollers on it so I was able to roll around the kitchen and laundry room which are attached and uncarpeted.  It helped so much!!

Well off to try to figure out my problem with printing checks.  We got a new business computer which was installed Thursday.  Everything was transferred over from Quickbooks, except apparently the settings for printing checks.  So I'm getting no detail printed, and can't figure out why!! :bang  Did figure out how to change the fonts tho, so that's something.

Carolyn, Karen's story about the chair with wheels reminded me of when my mom had a cast on her foot.  My mom did the same thing when she was in the kitchen.  My mom had crutches though and would sit in her chair and use her crutch like an ore to get around in the kitchen.  It was really funny to see her do that, but hey, it worked!  :lol

I have been sore and tired today - I have been trying to get everything down for spring and put away fall stuff, but, even with the kids help, I am having a hard time of it. It would help if my house wasn't a colonial with no bathroom on the main floor!  My knees are sore from crawling up the steps! 

Things could be much worse.  I really do know that and I appreciate all of you very much.

Also, we are getting everything ready for our garage sale.  The nice Bill has worn off and grumpy Bill is back. 

Shirley - My knee is the same.  It's just that I have been going to a doctor for so long it seems.  I just wanted to take a break!
I guess I will have to go though,  it doesn't seem to be getting any better.   :bang

He gave Happy his birthday present early.  His birthday isn't until June, but he got him tickets to see the Tigers play the Boston Red Sox in a couple of weeks.   :bouncy  It's the same night at the CD release party in Warren.  I thought I would try and go to it.  Have to see if it's not to late.   :bite

Evelyn,  I'm so glad you're taking "Sweet Thing!"  After hearing of the adventures of Sybil and Brandi, I'm sure she wants to create some adventures for herself!  That's why I took Chastity to NYC, but she was too timid.  I'll take her on vacation in June and see if she won't come out of her shell a little bit!! :lol

Prissy, thanks for posting the pics, and Shirley, thanks for asking Prissy to do that!  Look how cute Preston is!!  I especially like the second pic where he just looks so curious!  What a Sweetie!  How did the visit go yesterday?  I'll bet Preston couldn't eat any of your lasagna, could he?  Unless things have changed, I think this was the Cheerios age, but still on baby food pretty much.

I made breakfast burritos, ala our sweet Mary this morning, lots of ham, cheese, sausage, peppers, and tomatoes in the filling, and I have the tortilla's in a warmer so you'll have them hot :bigsmile :yum :yum

GOOD MORNING LADIES!!!!!!!!    Preston was wondering what grandma was doing holding this thing so close to his face.  Couldn't get him to laugh or giggle when he is really infectious.  He has such a great personality already. 

MARILYN, I know he is already so fat I can't imagine what he will be like when he starts eating grandma's cooking.   :lol  Doctor said he was the healthiest baby he has taken care of all winter and not to worrky about his weight as soon as he starts walking he will lose some of it.  But I am afraid his legs are so fat he won't start walking.   :lol

OKAY Breakfast is ready!!!!!!!!!!!  Seeing it is Sunday we will be having,

Eggs Benedict, cranberry scones, banana nut muffins or blueberry muffins straight from the oven.  Potato pancakes on the side with fresh home made applesauce.  Fresh squeezed orange juice or cranapple juice, and of course our variety of coffees  :coffeepot :coffeepot Hazelnut for  CHRISIE, Irish creme for SHARON, French Vanilla for  BRENDA and nice pot of hot tea for EVELYN, THEA and BETH, hot chocolate for JEANNE and DEBI and fresh KONA or Columbian for the rest of us.

 

SHARON  :lol :bouncy :roflmao I was trying to hurry up and post breakfast and didn't even run spell check and here you were making breakfast again also.  You silly goose you should have stayed in bed this morning!!!!!!!!   :hugg

SHARON and KAREN, Preston does have beautiful coloring.  He has the pinkest little cheeks, that I know Ann would love to kiss, and the prettiest blue eyes and the red/gold hair.  He loves his hats though.  He has about ten different ones now and always wears the same one his dad wears.  He is such a happy baby and is always smiling and laughing unless grandma is taking his picture. 

I am off to make some yeast dough up.  It is a refrigerator type dough that stays in the fridge for up to five days and you can use it for anything.  I will use some of it for hamburger buns today as I want hamburgers on the grill but don't have the buns.  Have a great Sunday everyone.

Busy day today doing my banking, and getting a nice birthday dinner together for my sister.  We are going to Sunnyside, and I have a potato salad, and some chicken and veggies which I will grill and take to Sunnyside later.  I bought a bouquet of flowers for Woody to give Judy, that will make him feel so good to do :hugg I also bought a choco/fudge cake (Woody's idea) :lol :lol and will get some DQ to take also.
There will be 9 of us together, looking so forward to it :bouncy

Just dropping in for a moment.  Just got back from church and got an e-mail from my younger son Peter.  He sent a letter to the editor of the New York Times and it has been published.  :bouncy  He is frequently published in the Los Angeles Times, but the NY times is defintiely a first.  !!!His commentary is very closely related to the field he is studying for his doctorate.  Just had to brag.  I'm so proud of him!

I've read and enjoyed so many Spamalot reviews from all of the peeps who went there before I did.  I have loved your recaps and your pictures and all of the enthusiasm . . . and especially the hints regarding food and such in NYC.  So . . . even tho' I don't have anything new to add, here is a short recap of my delightful trip to NYC and FINALLY seeing Clay in Spamalot.

RECAP:  Traveled with daughter, Nancy, and 16 year old granddaughter, Lexie.  Not my original plans . . . but a memorable family expericence that I will treasure forever.

On April 20th, I finally saw Spamalot.  3rd row, seat C101. Lexie sat with me.  Nancy's seat was in row 9.  I smiled and laughed through the entire show.  Clay was even better than I had imagined. He seemed so very happy and his eyes twinkled. I loved his dancing especially and the determination he showed just before he started the bottle dance.  Lexie just kept laughing and and saying how much fun she was having watching Clay. The rest of the cast was excellent.  Loved Patsy, Lady of the Lake, Sir Herbert . . . . and everybody!  I have to admit, when Clay was on the stage, my eyes stayed focused.  :blush

On April 22nd, we had seats in the 3rd row of the Mezzanine.  That was a fantastic view of the ENTIRE stage and crew and I saw loads of things that I had missed the first night.

Both of the shows were during the 2-week "Broadway Cares" charity drive that takes place in ALL Broadway shows.  SO NO STAGE DOOR. :para  We stayed in the theater both nights and watched as people had their pictures taken with Clay and Hannah.  THe price was $300.  The charity part started right after their final bow . . . but the audience was asked to remain standing. Clay was the cast member who explained about the charity and got things going.  He begged the audience to donate while they were at Spamalot because they wanted to win as the show that made the most money.  He said, "I'm kind of tired of not being the winner".  Big laugh and applause after that one.

On the 2nd night, King Arthur interjected that they were thankful for "Clay's face" because they were earning so much money for charity because people wanted a picture with Clay.  :clap

Still felt bad about no stage door. Both nights, we stood outside the theater because we saw a dark windowed van pull up near one of the theater doors at the entrance of the theater.  The first night, the van moved a couple of times to avoid the annoying fans who were waiting on the sidewalk for a possible glance (that would be us). :slick  On night #1 - as fast as a flash, Jerome and Clay came on a dead run out of the door and into the van.  Clay had a blue sweatshirt on with the hood pulled practically over his face.  We had seen Hannah get into that same van and then two men got in (Hannah's brother and his friend) and then finally Jerome and Clay.  On night #2 -  we saw the same dark windowed van on the street with the motor running.  Very quickly, it pulled up quite near where we were standing and Jerome and Clay walked right to the van.  No hood.  Blond hair.  Jerome then opened up the back of the van and put in a small piece of luggage and actually turned to us and waved.  (I am a simple person  . . . I counted that tiny moment as "my stage door experience". :hypno

Did many of the tourist things.  I had my picture taken sitting next to the wax figure of Simon Cowell and I held the NYC pamphlet of Spamalot with "What a Difference A Clay Makes" right up into Simon's face. It's on Lexie's camera . . . so don't know if the picture turned out.  It made me feel good. :hypno   We walked miles and miles.  Loved it all.  Went to St. Patrick's Cathedral and had a chance to say some prayers for special people in our lives.  Nancy helped us find the church by Ground Zero where many artifacts and memorials are set up in memory of 9/11.  Many firefighters and volunteers would go to that church while they were working night and day trying to find survivors of the attack.  People brought them food, blankets, etc.  Many pictures and tributes to those who lost their lives are displayed at the church.  We were very moved to see the actual pictures. 

Ate at Juniors twice.  Followed your recommendations regarding the huge burgers and the great Mac & Cheese.  Loved the Raspberry Cheesecake.  One night we ate at the "Stardust".  All of the waiters and waitresses keep getting up on stage and sing and dance.  Some of the former staff members have actually gotten roles on Broadway. They are all aspiring show-biz hopefuls.  Very enthusiastic and it was so much fun! Found "regular" New York hot dogs (thanks Bisi, etc., for the warnings about the other ones). Visited the M & M store, Hershey's at Time Square, and had loads of fun while trying not to spend a load of money.  (Very challenging). :wink It was so much fun to laugh almost non-stop.  It thrilled me when my girls would ever so often break into a Spamalot song spontaneously.  "All For One . . . One For All" . . seemed to work for us. :bigsmile  Loved Central Park and Rockefeller Center.  Took the NBC studio tour (great)!!

I feel so fortunate that I had the chance to go to NYC and especially to see Clay in Spamalot.  It was a blessing to be with Nancy and Lexie and to share some very good times that we will always treasure. 

Oh . . . I may have gotten carried away . . . I just sat down here at the computer and started to type what I was remembering.  Thanks for listening! :hugg

Junior's sounded wonderful.  Next time (please let there be a "next time"  for all of us  :please), I plan to try to a burger and a big plate of mac 'n' cheese!   :bigsmile 

Sounds like you had a very unique "Stage Door" experience!  Hmmmm....I wonder if Clay is possibly seeing Hannah "after hours"?  I sure hope so!

Well, I'm going to take a long nap.  This morning I sang in a huge regional choir for our church's regional "conference" about 25 miles away.  It was so much fun to just sing and feel the music instead of worrying about all of the logistics of directing!!!!  We sang gorgeous arrangements of 2 hymns, one with which most people here on the RTM are familiar:  "The Morning Breaks" and "How Great Thou Art".  It was a truly moving and glorious experience to blend my little voice with so many others' gorgeous voices!!!  I think I had a little glimpse of what it must be like to sing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! 

CAROLYN, I hope you are coping much better with your post-surgical foot.  And I certainly hope "Nice Bill" is back helping you!!!!  But I'm sure you also have 2 wonderful kids who are eager to help their mommy!  :wink  :comfort

Haven't been around lately so am quite behind. Forgive me if I don't address everyone personally.  I am really in a rush (so typical lately). Cristienis coming tomorrow (crazy visitation schedule) until Wednesday, goes back and then we pick him up again on Friday - just idiocy! Oh, well. I have been trying to catch up with my work and get a little bit ahead as I have to pick him up tomorrow and know I won't be doing any work at all (maybe for a couple of days - who knows).

Carolyn, hope you are healing well. I was told to stay off my foot (I didn't completely of course - how could I?) and it still has not healed. Now I am told I need to walk on it even more as there is bone loss showing up there - ?????? It does feel better unless you touch it where the break is.  It was very painful and your break is obviously worse than mine so I can only imagine the pain and don't envy you. It will improve.

Peggy, glad your surgery is over and you did well - I knew you would. Having surgery on the eyes is scary to me.

Thea, glad your hand surgery went well also. It is good that you will be pain free now - at least I assume. You are right to be proud of Peter. I think it is really something to have a letter published in the NY Times editorial section. Kudos.

Debi, how are you? I do think of you and send silent prayers for your health and complete recovery.  Do you still have that drain?

Evelyn, safe trip tomorrow. I know you two nuts will have a ball. Am jealous - love cruising.  Enjoy and think of us occasionally.

I babysit for my girls last night and we had a terrific time - we haven't laughed that much for a long time. We went out for dinner then rented Alvin and the Chipmunks (really cute) and then played games. It was a blast.  We did get yelled at a little bit when Julie and Dan got home and they were still up (midnight) but she had said they didn't have a curfew so I didn't make them go to bed - we were having too much fun. I'm a baaaad grandma!

Hi to everyone else. I have to get showered and out of here - have to get gas before the price goes up even more tomorrow (have to have a full tank to get Cristien and Chris who is flying in tomorrow) and pick up a few things at the grocery store, then come back and do some Cinderella chores around here tonight. It's already 5:30 - do you think I will get it all done - not.

One more thing - Sharon, hope you have fun tonight with your BD party. I feel so bad that your business is down but this ding-dang economy is bleeding us all - all over the world.  It sucks! I am hoping for all our sakes that it picks up soon - that we finally get some leadership who knows how to handle it (or someone who at least will try to deal with it). I am really fed up with all of them - sorry, don't mean to be political  - well, yes I do actually.

Anyway, I'm off. Have a lovely evening. Don't know when I will be checking in again - probably not until Cristien leaves on Wednesday.

BTW, Peter is also getting an all-expense paid trip to Amsterdam this summer to assist in a presentation in his field at a world conference.  Things are finally starting to go his way, much to our delight!  Working on a PhD is a very long, tedious process with few rewards until they get the degree, so I'm really happy for him!!! Well, tile man should be coming today to finish putting up the backsplash tile.  Then tomorrow he grouts.  Then a few days later he come back to seal the grout.  Then the painters are coming.  I'm trying to be patient with this.  I know the results will be worth it, though!!!

BTW...I'm a little po'd at the way they're selling Clay's "bonus" songs.  If you want the bonus from itunes, you have to download the WHOLE album to get it....that's one.  If you want the one from QVC, you have to buy the CD from them--two.  If you want the bonus from Walmart, you have to buy the CD from them--three. 

Okay...I don't mind paying separately for a bonus song...or even 3 bonus songs, but to have to buy the WHOLE CD 3 times is ridiculous!  And....I AM going to post that in a blog on the fan club site!

Hi everyone
Well - here I am in sunny Florida. I left Ohio in 48 degree weather, raining and cold and arrive in Florida to 85 degree weather.
Bozena picked me up at the airport and then we drove to the beach.
Walked around - there was a beautiful breeze.

Stopped for lunch , then came home - now we are waiting for Clay to appear on QVC. Talk to you all later.

Morning all,

Only have a minute, just woke up and they called from work to ask for help on one of my accounts (of course, Cristien is here so this isn't going to work for long).

Saw most of QVC last night but was at Julie's so wasn't easy. I do have it recorded and when things calm down I will watch it in peace. Did order and got an email this morning saying it should arrive May 15th - wot's that about? I must be in the second group.  The only thing I will say is "Who is doing (not) his hair?" I don't like it - and my son was very quick to comment on the hair and the eyeliner - wot's that about?  I love him anyway of course but hate to have hear all this "what's with him......" 

Peggy and Mary, wish I could go to the release party with you. I don't have anyone here in Toledo to go with me and I won't go by myself - too shy.

Hi dear ladies!

I've been gone since about noon today.  I went to the gynecologist this afternoon for my routine Pap/gyn exam, and what does the Dr. tell me?  He felt a lump in my right breast below the surgical area .So off I go once again to the breast surgeon.  She is squeezing me in on Thursday at noon.  The Gyn was emphatic that this lump did not feel like the usual scar tissue I've felt before, so I guess better safe than sorry.  Crap, just when I'm starting to get back to normal again.  Prayers would be appreciated.

Phil is picking up a pizza for supper tonight; I made a green salad, so that's supper tonight.  'Looking forward to AI.  Should be interesting.

Thea -  :hugg Maybe it's just scar tissue. My Grandma (not the one that lives with me) had the same thing happen. She also has increased uptake by her mastectomy site from what we call the shrapnel (staples) and scar tissue.

I hope that's the case, MEESA.  :hugg  That's what I thought it was, but this Dr. was so insistent that it wasn't just scar tissue this time. I'm so hoping he is dead wrong;  but on the other hand, I'm glad to have good doctors looking out for me. 

THEA, I certainly will say a prayer for you and I have my fingers crossed that nothing is wrong.  Thank you for always remembering me in your prayers also.  Hey pizza and a green salad sounds wonderful to me!!!  Wasn't to impressed with anyone on AI tonight.  I think I love Neil Diamond so much and I can hear him singing his songs in my mind.

BARB, isn't groceries and gas shocking.  I am realling feeling the pinch now.  Have been doing pretty good on SS and a pension but this month was bad and I guess it is just a start of things.  Now they say gas could go as high as $5 a gallon.   :bang

SHARON, I keep forgetting to ask you what colors you are painting your rooms?  I have finally decided on a grayish beigeneutral color, "Pismo Dunes" by  Benjamin Moore.  It will complement our burgundy leather sectional very nicely.  The pink we had on the walls was just too much with the burgundy furniture.  I'm thinking this will make the room much more peaceful.

Have you decided on floors and countertops yet?  These are big decisions.  Be sure to take your time and mull over the various options, as you will be "stuck" with them for  a while!  Believe me, I've learned the hard way.

BARBARA, hope you think the Neil Diamond songs were done justice by at least a few of the AI singers this evening.  I'm really impressed by David Cook's fresh new interpretations of some of his less "popular" songs.  

Well, I'm going upstairs to wind down a bit.  Our tile man hopefully will be here tomorrow morning early.  Then I have to get my hair colored and trimmed tomorrow.   Next week I'll be visiting my mother across the state for a few days.

Today actually went very well.  Everyone was very welcoming and seemed like they missed me.  They had a big "Welcome Back, Carolyn" sign on my door.  I took it easy and my customers were so happy to have me back, it made me feel great.   

I appreciate you all more than you can know.  You are so dear to me.

Even when I don't comment or acknowledge what I have read, I always think of you and you are all in my prayers.

Thea, I am sticking with neutrals also, taupes and one wall in my living room will be chocolate brown, very dark, bitter chocolate, lots of windows in the wall, so it won't be overpowering.  My accents will either be turquoise or the new green out, I am too trendy for my own good :lol sort of a jalapeno green.  The floor and counter will also be "louder" than the walls, they are chosen, and should be pretty funky :bouncy

PEGGY, you asked about my hand.  It's doing great and healing well.  I do think that the hand surgeon was a bit premature in removing the stitches, but otherwise I am very pleased with the results of the surgery.  I now have about 90% mobility back, which is wonderful!!!  :shappy

OK, I have to get ready to get my hair cut and colored.  It's times like this that I once again think it's time to go grey again, but I'm not in the mood to deal with the awkward growing out process.  Since I had to reschedule mhy appointments with my "regular"s (I have that emergency appt. with my breast surgeon tomorrow, which is why I had to reschedule), I have a couple of people whom I haven't ever used.  Let's hope I don't end up with a  hack job and purple hair after this appt!    :lol

BETH, my condolences to you and your family on the loss of your grandmother.  What a blessing to have died peacefully in her sleep at such a ripe old age!    May you find joy and comfort in all of the wonderful memories of her.  :comfort

Ok now I want to say a few things about myself.

I know that all of you have been very supportive of me and keep me in your prayers and thoughts....and I love each of you for just who you are.  Most of you understand my medical challenges that have been hanging over me the last couple of months.  I have allowed myself to get depressed and hide in my thoughts alone.  I have come here often even if I don't post just to see what is happening with everyone.  That drainage tube I had in was really getting me down I felt as though I was not improving and would never get to feeling better.  I felt I was sentenced to a life without hope.  I had not been able to spend the kind of time I wanted to spend with my little princess and that too was getting me down.  Don't get me wrong the family has been wonderful but I just couldn't get to feeling positive.  As you all know I am usually a pretty positive person who tries to see the light even in the darkness but I was having trouble doing that.  This past monday my sister came down from up north to be with me for my appointments with my surgeon and oncologist..monday we went the surgeon and to my suprise he pulled the drainage tube..he said it was not pancreatic fluid that was draining but only normal body fluid when there is and injury/ trauma to an organ and it had decreased enough that the body would absorb the fluid without the drain.  I have had no problems since it was removed.  The surgeon even disscharged me from his care unless if I have any problems.  Then on tuesday I went to see the oncologist and I actually gained a pound( that's somethig I haven
t done in a while) he said the cat scan that he had me have on saturday was clear and I am ready to start my chemo.  I see the chemo nurse on friday and probably start chemo on monday or tuesday.  My attitude has improved very much since those two appointments...at least I can talk about how I feel without breaking down.  I am going to have Aisalynn for the first time since all of this over night...and as you all know that makes my heart feel good.  Hopefully I can handle having her all day tomorrow.  I think it will be ok...and I am probaby going back to work within the next two weeks..that will do me good too...I need some normalcy in life right now to set me straight.  Im going to try to be here a little more to share fun things with all of you because you all mean so much to me.  I still need lots of prayers as my battle will never be over...every test or cat scan or every pain makes you wonder if something new is going on...so please keep me in your prayers and know that I love ya all...

Did you all see Tyra this morning (may be on later where you are, I guess). It was very cute and I loved when she said he was one of her best friends ever, ever. Lucky people to get tickets to the show.

DEBI!!!!    :hugg :hugg :hugg  It was so good to come home and see your post.  You have been missed, but I have totally understood your need to turn within yourself for a while.  Please never, ever feel that you have  to post if you aren't up to it.  But as KAREN mentioned, most often it is good to talk about your problems with others, but I also understand that sometimes it is just too difficult to do.  Sometimes you just don't know where to begin.

Anyway, we are here for you always, whether or not you are up to posting.  And as to your eloquent statement:


I truly understand.  Just continue to find joy in the little things, especially your precious little princess Aisalynn.  That is how I deal with the endless uncertainty of it all.  And never forget to cast your burdens upon the Lord, as I know you understand that He will, indeed, sustain you through your trials.

SPIKEE, so sorry to hear about the infection in your eye.  I'm anxious to hear what course of treatment your eye doctor has planned for you.  Prayers that this will clear up soon.

Well, on a much lighter note, my hair turned out very well.  I had a junior colorist who really knew her stuff!  I even decided to lighten the color up a bit for the summer months, although I truly love the very dark brown.  As to the cut, the stylist did an excellent job.  She decided to layer up my bob quite a bit, as my curly hair makes it difficult to keep a style for very long.  Right now it looks great.  Of course, all I got from Phil (and the tile man who is still here  :para) is "nice hairdo"!  Oh well, I'll take what I can get!!!  :lol

Have some Cinderella chores to do now.  Had a cleaning lady over today, and as good as she is, she always manages to move everything around the way she likes it instead of keeping it the way I had it.  :bduh She shows a little passive-aggressive behavior, I'd say, but hey I won't complain about having a clean house (except for the kitchen and the soon-to-be-torn-up family room!  :para)

Thea - I went to the doc and she lanced it!  :eek  It really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.  It was over before I got a chance to get nervous.   :slick  She actually said that my eyes were healing good.  My tear duct got plugged and that is what caused all the problem.  I am to keep up with the hot compresses.  If the swelling doesn't go down or gets worse, she will call in a perscription.
 

Cindy - I can' t believe you are having a 20 year anniversary.  You sure don't look like you are old enough to have been married that long.  :no  Congrats on your proud mile stone.   :clap :clap

Was not very pleasant anyway.
My best friend look her life two weeks ago, I have had bronchial pneumonia and left me withthis bronchial cough, hubby has been sick with kidney stones and tomorrow an operation for a hip replacement.
my spinal stenosis has kicked in again and I am full of pain pills,
Have not done any art for longer than I remember and as shallow as that sounds, it is devastating to me. !!!!!!!!

My best friend actually picked me up and took me to the Dr for anti depression pills. Do not know what I would do without her!!!!!!I might not be here but for her.





the bright spot in my life right now is the singing of David Cook. I used to get the same feeling for Clay, and I still do, but David lifts me up so much.


sorry for this stupid post, after all the sickness in this group of lovely ladies; brave Debi, Thea, Pepe, etc. My problems are probably so miner. But I am not a happy camper right now and I think I shall go to bed and forget it all.

Oh my no one has fixed breakfast!!!!!!!!!!!  Well I will just fix lunch than!!!
I have made a nice tuna salad in lettuce leaf cups, a small mound of egg salad on your plate also, cubes of baby swiss and colby cheese and a bowl of assorted crackers and tiny bread sticks.  A nice dish of chocolate pudding for dessert.  A variety of drinks, coke, pepsi, lemonade, ice tea or milk and have fresh coffee brewing. '


I am trying to figure out why Evelyn hasn't posted.  I bet they are on the cruise now.

I'm back from the breast surgeon.  GOOD NEWS!!!  :purpbana :purpbana :purpbana  I just got back from seeing the breast surgeon (about 25 miles from here).  She was so sweet to squeeze me in so soon.  I'm happy to report that upon thorough examination she determined that it was just scar tissue again.  She explained to me that it takes about 2 years after surgery and radiation for the breast tissue to start getting back to normal. Unfortunately, most gynecologists don't understand this and tend to push the panic button when they examine post-lumpectomy/post-radiation breasts. :bduh  So anyway...I'm fine!  I'm going to live!!!  Life is so sweet!!!! 

I so love and appreciate all of you.  Thanks for your love. support amd prayers once again this time around.   :ghug2

Beth - It was so hard for me when my grandpa passed away. I can understand some of what you are going thru. Just remember the good times. I think of most of the times before grandpa got Alzheimer's but I'm happy he's where he no longer has to struggle with his memory and he's where he preached about ... heaven. Missing someone never goes away.  :hugg

Beth...I'm so sorry for your loss.  Brenda and I never knew our grandmothers, but I'm pretty sure yours was a close and nurtuting relationship.  I try my best to be a good grandma to Dylan and Kylee and hope that --not soon! -- they'll have good memories of me when I'm gone, too...and know how much they are/were loved.  Just remember the good times!

I'm here but it's pretty nasty here. We have horrible winds and it got cold. It always worries me when the temp drops suddenly. Usually it does that right before a tornado. A year ago Sunday is the one year anniversary of the F5 tornado that destroyed Greensburg not far from here.

Sorry about that,it posted before I was finished. Anyway, I'min the bathroom yelling for Bozena to help me get out.So,I don't know how, but between the two of us, we got the door opened and Bozena said that from then on, we shouldn't close the door completely. Well, that worked fine until the second night when I got up at 2;30 in the morning to use the bathroom.I'monthe comode and, like a good little girl, I hadn't closed the door all the way. So = I thought I was safe, well, the ship must have taken a big dip and the next thing I knew, the bathroom door slammed shut.Now it is 2:30 in the morning and I'm (lucy) is locked in the bathroom , so I'm yelling for Bozena - " Bozena - wake us - get me out of the bathroom!!!!"Now I'm worried that if Bozena is a sound sleeper , she won't hear me and I would be locked in the bathroom all night long!!!!. So - what do I hear - while I am in a complete panic? - Bozena (ethel) is laughing her ass off outside the door. Here I am - in a panic to get out of the bathroom and - she's laughing!!!! Well, she finally let me out, but what an experience!!!. Thought you all might want to hear just one of our stories.  Oh , sweet thing Ho was really, really, bad and Heidi had her hands full, but it was a lost cause. We have pictures and a lot of stories to tell you about that.

Thought we'd eat light this morning so there's cereal with strawberries or bananas, and I made these little toasted phyllo cups and filled them with a lemon yogurt and light cream cheese filling and blueberries :yum there's also a loaf of cheese bread from the market if you feel like toast. Fresh pineapple juice in the fridge too.

As for Raliegh, I did open the windows and stick my head out. My daughter told me,"I don't know what you use to do your laundry, but mine sure don't smell like that!" Just as we got to where the sign said Raliegh, next exit, all we could smell was manure  :lmao :lmao :lmao :lmao :bigsmile And we got lost on the same part of road the we kept getting lost when we were there for the concert. Darn inner and outer.
If anyone wants to go to the CD release party just holler cause I paid twice. I asked Peggy to send in my payment while I was in NC and my other friend who I met at my M&G sent in a payment for me which I didn't know about. If someone needs to they can stay the night here. I am sure it will be a fun time.

I'm back from the funeral and luncheon.  I loved seeing family and friends that I haven't seen in a long time, I just wished that it wasn't over something so sad. 

In my mind, I knew that Grandma couldn't live forever, but in my heart, I just can't believe that she's gone.  I miss her sooo much, and I'm sooo sad.

Doing a "cleaning project" today which involves getting rid of some pots, pans, dishes, and containers.  My cupboards were overflowing. I'm washing them all and putting them in a big bin to take to Goodwill.  This should have been done a long time ago.

Just wanted to pop in to say good night.  RL has certainly had its ups and downs for so many of us this week, hasn't it?

BETH, our BARBARA said it so well. 
Allow yourself to grieve over your beloved Grandmother. We all have been there when it comes to losses of loved ones, whether it be a husband, a child, a sibling or parents.   Maybe plant a rose bush or a little tree with your family in her honor?

We never get over the loss of loved ones, believe me, but it does get easier.  Thursday would have been my late father's 86th birthday.  He died about 20 years ago.  In his honor I bought a little morning glory plant that I will enjoy watching grow this summer.  That was his favorite flower, and I will think of him every time I see a bloom!!!

So good that you're just taking it easy, SHARON.  I so agree with KAREN.  You deserve to just let it all hang out after all you've been through.

KIM, your beautiful picture of you and Joey brought a warm feeling to my heart.  You are a very special mother.  I have a feeling Joey will make you an even prouder mama some day when he is fully grown.  He looks like a fine young man!!!

MARY, I'm so happy you enjoyed your trip "down South".  I know how proud you are of Brandon!  He is really shaping up, isn't he?  The Marines have a way of doing that, believe me.

I'm off to bed now.  Like Sharon, I've been really tired these past few days.  This past week with my health scare/"false alarm" really took its toll on me physically and emotionally.  Also my kitchen and family room and back halls are still completley torn up.  The tile man is almost done and then the painter will be here Monday and Tuesday.  Then we can start putting things back where they belong.

Today at the funeral home, "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler was playing over the loud speaker and I just lost it! Oh, I found out today that my Grandma's favorite color was red.  I never knew that  :bang  and of course, that got the water works starting again  :bang.  I even attempted to go to Rite-Aid for a distraction, and well, that didn't work.  I lost it in the car driving home  :bang.  Tomorrow is another day, and will hopefully be a lot better  :bduh.   

Beth - I can't listen to that song without crying. One of the girls I went to school with was murdered when I was a freshman and they played that song at her funeral. Just give yourself time to mourn. She'll never really be gone as long as you keep her in your heart.  :hugg

GOOD MORNING!!!!!!!!!  Yep we need a big country breakfast this morning as I am starving.

Coffee is on and almost ready!  :coffeepot :coffeepot :coffeepot and three pots of tea is sitting on the table in their cozys to keep warm.  Hot chocolate for JEANNE and DEBI.  Crangrape juice, cranapple juice and freshly squeezed orange juice in frosty pitchers is ready.  I have scrambled eggs with diced ham /cheese/potatoes in them.  Poached eggs if you prefer, sausage patties or sausage links or how about some nicely browned ham steaks.  Hot biscuits with red eye gravy or cream gravy.  Also a nice pink grapefruit all sectioned for you with a red cherry in the middle.  I told you all I was hungry.

Yesterday - We went and picked strawberries in the strawberry patch. It was a place with all organic foods. I couldn't believe it. Then, Bozena says: "We have to walk to keep all the pounds off - and I said: "OK", so we walked and walked. Then - You are not going to believe this - we stop at this one store and Bozena says "Do you want an Ice Cream Cone?" I lost it - I laughed so hard, tears were coming out of my eyes and people were looking at me like I was crazy. Of course, once I started then Bozena started laughing and I'm sure everyone thought we were nuts!!! Of course, we had the ice cream and then drove home, talking about the great day we had.

Tonight we are going to friends of Bozena's who have invited us over for dinner. I'm being totally lazy - and - you are all not going to believe this but I'm sleeping like a baby and Bozena actually has to wake me up. I swear it's the ocean air. She insists that every night we walk by the ocean. What a wonderful friend she is.

We took lots of pictures of Heidi and sweet thing Ho and Bozena will post them. Sweet thing was in her glory and had a great time on the cruise.  

Starstruck - I have been seriously considering it. Marilyn and I talk about moving your way often.  :hugg In the meantime I'll come and visit. How about I visit for the gala this fall?

SHIRLEY - Where are you today?  I'm not sure how far you live from Becky, are you having nice weather where you are too?  I know you sure do need some signs of spring to make you feel better! :hugg I just finished another book last night.  It was a Nora Roberts called River's End.  It was very good.  I will have to add it to the box I STILL have to send you.  The box pops up every once in a while when I work on unpacking.  When I find it again I will have to put it under my feet so I will get off my butt and send it to you.  Are you reading anything good now? I saw a reference to Preston pics.  Were there new ones posted that I missed? I would love to see them.  He must be getting so big!! Have you seen him lately?

BECKY, hope nothing overwhelming is going on at your house!! :hugg It was sunny here but cold as the wind was so darn strong.  Lake Huron was really rolling too!  Trout did you say trout?????????  Love them!!  They are the best right now caught in the fridgid waters.  Won't eat them in the summer though. 

CINDY, good to see you!!!  So glad you and hubby had some quality  time together in your new home!!  I bet you enjoyed watching DVD's on that big flat screen!  We rented three DVD's and didn't like any of them!!!  I sent Prissy some pictures of my breakfast guests, a Canadian goose and a couple of Mallard ducks and you can tell by my yard it doesn't look like spring to much at my house.  Also sent her a picture of our Yorkie Alli who we adopted from my son.  Alli doesn't get along with Preston to well.  I think when prissy gets the pictures in her email she will post them in the Pet Thread .  I believe there are pictures of Preston on about page five . Leaves keep blowing in my yard, no leaves on the trees heck it looks like fall here.  You certainly made the right decision in moving my sweet.  Enjoy the wonderful spring, summer and fall there in NC.  Yep still waiting for my books!!!   :lol :smile :roflmao :blush

This weekend, I went through my cupboards and pantry.  Getting rid of some pots, pans and dishes that I no longer use.  Giving to Goodwill.  Then I actually went through all of the cupboards and threw stuff away.  WHEW !  That feels good.  I put it off for too long.  :para

Clay will be taking his final Spamalot bow very shortly.  Spamalot was a good choice for him.  He gained lots of respect from people who weren't aware of his talent and his honest charm.

I have regular, caffeine free, french vanilla and hazelnut coffee. Also tea and hot chocolate, with whipped cream of course.
Warm maple syrup and powdered sugar too.. Plenty for seconds and Sharon, take a plate for Woody. Beth, I am sure your kids will like them, help yourself.

Hubby back from successful operation. This is the second day. He is using a walker . First thing upon entering house "I see you have not vacuumed the kitty hair from the carpet"

Bedroom on the second floor. I hava a bad back and climbing stairs is not for me. So I had to climb stairs about 8 times before he was satisfied??? NOT

Was so happy when he went to bed. I was exhausted from stress.

This morning , upstairs, struggled to get him out of bed, in his pj,s , other unmentionable tasks, on the floor looking for his slippers and cane. oh, my acking back.
downstatirs, vacuumed rug AGAIN for kitty hair, made breakfast (cpffee too strong)  made more. Laudnry, dishes, fetched a dozen items. He is supposed to get up and use his walker to strenthen himself and get well, but he just sits there in his chair giving me ordre.s

When I look back at you and AL, I could cry for your wonderful love you both shared. Maybe I am being selfish, but  I do not think so. My son, who is my rock was not happy either. THank God I have him to lean on.

Sounds shallow to miss my art and studio so much.BUT THAT IS WHAT I MISS SOOOO MUCH now.

If I were to do it all over again, I would be single and married only to my art. but then I would not have my wonderful son.

Not working today, I think I got food poisoning last night, Fabian isn't feeling to well either.. but I called in sick last night just in case and got someone to cover for me  :bigsmile but feeling better today, just really tired from  being up all night.

But tomorrow is a whole new chapter in Clay's life and we will all be there again to support him. I just wish there was a concert this summer so we could all see each other again.

Well, Friday is my Tori's 6th b-day... talk about time flying  :bduh and we are doing Critter World this year in the class room b/c there was no way I was having 18 kids in my house, that is just insane and then we are going to go to DQ with other friends on the Fri night for ice cream cake  :yum she is all excited.

Morning, Shirley, Cindy, Sharon!  Off to the CD release party today...Chillicothe Debbie and I are going to be in Columbus to meet up with Nurse Debbie  and Diane  and others at around 2:30.  CD Relase Party doesn't start until 9:00pm, but we'll do some socializing until then!  To Peggy, Mary, Marilyn,  and whoever else ends up going, have FUN at your party, as well!

Kim, you are braver than I!!  I know I told you "go for it" for the Sheikra but it definitely wasn't from personal experience!! :lol  I did the Hulk over at Universal last summer and was nauseous the rest of the day!  I'm a bit of a roller coaster light-weight. :lol

The sleepover was a success.  It only took an hour or so of intense clean-up to get the basement back in order!  We had eight boys there including Justin, but only 7 stayed all night.  I swear that none of them put a single bottle cap in the trash, as I found about a hundred of them on the floor!  :lol  I bought them 3 X-Large pizzas and they were still hungry!  I guess I forgot about how much teen boys can eat! :hypno  They had a lot of fun though!

Hi Barbara - how have you been. Cleaning out is really a chore but so nice when it is all done. That's something I have to do when I get home.

I  forgot to tell you another thing that happened on the ship.
Bozena and I had this large king size bed, plus a sofa that opened into a bed. Well, we went to lay on the bed and it was as hard as a rock!! No kidding, it didn't give an inch. Well, the pillow Bozena put her head on slipped out and she was laying flat on this hard bed and laughing because she couldn't get up. so - she says: "Evelyn - help me up!!!" Now I look at her and say "How in the heck am I going to help you, I can't even lift your arm!!!:" At this point we are laughing so hard neither of us can move!!! I did finally manage to get up from my side and slide the pillow under her head to give her more leaverage.

The trip was one laugh after another!!!

Today his caregiver came over. Lots of information, etc.
As he was leaving I said "Would he be in trouble if I left for work during the day?"
The caregiver said that he was just fine and with his meds and his walker he could go anywhere that did not tire him out. He laughed and said this is a common occurance with married men!!!!!

Hubby gave the care giver a few dirty looks. Hmmmmm ruined his day.

So now after helping him get out of bed in the morning, making his pot of coffee I can  :wave :wave :wave and go to work.

Son got hubby one of those chairs that raise up to a standing position and reclining. What an invention. So that is why he is going to stay downstairs all day and then at bedtime, I will tuck him in, upstairs. I can go to my wonderful, blessed, fantastic, kharma filled studio now every day. Whew.
He has my cell phone iin case.

Been a little down lately and always am when Cristien goes home on Monday (especially this week because I won't get to see him for two weeks and Chris won't get to see him for a really long time - he has to go to California for business and Paula gets him the next weekend because it is Mother's Day, plus  the two last weekends (because there are five weekends in this month so it is really going to be a long spell for Chris to go without seeing his son - the beyotch won't trade any time, you know, or give him any extra time even though she knows he has to be gone for his next weekend and although she doesn't ever hesitate to ask for all kinds of time for this and that which Chris very often gives  her (which makes me very mad). Just listened to the CD - thanks a bunch, Carolyn. That certainly helped my mood.  Have been sitting here crying with delight. I absolutely love this CD and you all know I am not the least bit prejudiced. He sounds so wonderful. I love Something About Us - and every other one as well. Ashes is terrific - maybe he can make the radio with that one. Wish I could go to a release party but couldn't find one in Toledo so guess I will have to wait until tomorrow to get my hands on the CD . Have fun all you lucky ladies who get to go! I'm not going to sing them for you so I shouldn't ruin anything for anybody.

SHARON, where are you going????????  I can bake you some corn muffins tonight and heat them up and have them by the door.  I will put a little container of butter and honey.  I also made the fresh blueberry muffins with extra blueberries.  I will have a container of cut up fresh fruit, sliced oranges, honeydew melon, strawberries and blueberries in a container also by the door all of it in a nice CLAY bag!!!!!!!  A nice thermos of coffee to go also!

CINDY, that is great your hubby likes the birds and feeds them.  We had four Bluebird houses when we lived in Tennessee.  Such a beautiful nice bird.  Just trying to keep the sparrows out of the bird houses is a real problem as they will kill the Bluebirds sitting on their nests.  I have a horrible problem with the starlings and blackbirds.  I am happy  you are getting some down time to enjoy your new home and that new TV!   :hugg

Good Cd release morning. I just can not wait for you all to hear the actual Cd. It is downright awesome.
I had a great time last night at the party. Tons of laughs and wonderful company. I even won something :purpbana :purpbana A complete set of DVD's of AI2 and rewind in a nice little case.
One of the highlights for me was who was at our table, right across from me  :clap The little giel from the Charlotte concert. The one Clay wrapped his leg around, she is a little cutie. It was a sight to behold at Walmart with all these ladies, and one man, in the checkout lines with Clay Aiken Cd's in their arms. They had a guy at the counter in the music section with a big box of then just passing them out to our out stretched hands.  :lmao I had mine opened already when I got to the register so that I could pop it in the Cd player the minute I got in my car  :bduh
At the party we each got a wine glass with "Clay Aiken  On My Way Here May 6, 2008" etched on it, a key chain and a book mark. They had Hershey Kisses with his picture on the bottom, scattered on the table and a few in each wine glass. The dinner was, salad, mosticelli , some other kind of pasta? and chicken strips, rolls and butter. Delish.
All in all a very nice evening spent with wonderful people and memories to last a life time.

I haven't dropped off the face of the earth.  Just been dealing with contractors in my home.  The painting and tiling is now done!  It's beautiful, but now it's time to put our house back together!!!!

Today I'm going to take time out to plant all of the flowers , since this is the best weather we're going to have for a while.  (Thunderstorms are rolling in this evening for the next several days.  :bang).

Clay was actually interviewed on our Chicago Fox affliliate station this morning!  Plus they used On My Way Here as the bumper muisic twice!!!!  And the local anchor confessed that she is a Claymate!

I'm going to postpone my trip to Walmart until I've finished planting all of the flowers---that will be my reward.  Enjoy and savor the moment of Clay's triumph.

P.S.  JEANNE, I'm happy you can at least get back to your art and your studio.  David's a big boy...let him fend for himself.  That's how he will regain his strength and mobility.  I agree with the others who say that men are big babies sometimes!!!

Off to plant my flowers.  I wait all year to do this, and I intend to enjoy every moment of it!!!  :bouncy

You are right as usual sistah. Hubby has to fend for himself. Even the care giver yesterday gave a chuckle when I asked him if it was ok to leave for work. Hubby is doing well with his walker.
My wonderful son discovered the walker was 2 inches too short for comfort so went out and got him another one. Also did a zillion chores around the house that hubby could not do.

This morning I fixed his breakfast (you know I am a lousy cook), Then he supervised my cleaning the swimming pool, got all the leaves out. put the proper chemicals in the pool, then the proper chemicals in the hot tub, swept the leaves from the patio, saw to it that all  his "stuff" was handy and said  :wave :wave :wave

Tonight I am going to pick up something from the BOSTON MARKET, take out, they have pretty good food at a reasonable price. I cannot do this too often though, THEN I will have to show my culinary arts  :bigsmile :bigsmile :bigsmile  :bduh :bduh
I think someone is going to get tired of spaghetti or chili. that is about all that is in my cooking reportore (sic). I feel pretty good now that I can get back to business as usual.

And THEA, I am sooooooo happy that your problem was not serious. Too much stress, even the thought that it might be the same old health problem.
And my best friend, who lived in Los Angeles, actually the San Fernando Valley was not the same friend who just conquered her breast cancer. Cannot imagine why she took her life. We were young marrieds together and kept up our friendship throught the years. I visited her once about 16 years ago and she came to Florida about 5 years ago. I really feel sad about her.

Waiting for the mailman as he probably has my CLAY CD in his pack, i hope!!!!!
I have not heard one song on the CD yet. What a great time, listening to the CD and painting.

Went to Walmart this morning to get my CD.  Lots of new releases for a lot of artists today.  Thought the CD was great!  Nice blend of songs slow, up tempo you could tell that someone really cared about producing this CD and they have every right to be proud of it.  All these new songs for Clay, how wonderful. Some really catchy songs if radio will play them.  Sure wish they would put out one of the catchy songs as the first single, such as "Ashes", "Where I Draw The Line". so people won't think this is a boring CD.  Hey its anything but boring!  Headed over to the CD thread to post my favorites so far.  I need to listen to it more though.

So glad that the pre-parties were so much fun.  I would have loved to do that.  I'm sure CINDY is enjoying her party right now. :bouncy

I heard songs from the new CD for the first time last evening after a meeting . . . and I listened to the AOL website.  Then around 11 PM, I got an email that I could get to my iTunes pre-order CD.

WELL . . .  That proved to be very challenging. I kept getting messages that I had already downloaded my purchase.  I ended up reseting my password and emailing iTunes  . .  Finally at about 1 AM . . . BINGO!  I stayed up listening to it until almost 2:30 AM!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE CD!  Even better than I thought it would be. I'm discovering more and more in each song as I play it over. The arrangements are excellent.

I hope the promotion continues and that the CD sells very well so that Clay will feel the same respect he felt on Broadway.

The song choices on the CD are excellent   . . . some are so different.

Hi.  I went to the foot doctor yesterday and he said my foot was looking fine and that it would be "AT LEAST" 4 more weeks of no weight bearing on my foot.  EEEKK!   :cuss :cry :sigh :hissy (although I can't stomp up and down).

I don't have Clay's CD yet.  I have been hinting, STRONGLY, to family members about this subject but nothing yet.  I want it, but right now I can hear it on AOL and I can't really handle traipsing through the store.  I guess I should have bought it online, but I didn't really think this was all going to happen.  Frankly, working every day is about all I can handle!

BETH, oh all those places you mentioned make me homesick.  I used to go to Laurel Park mall and that was my mothers outing on Saturday's.  Loved the kitchen store and get specialty coffee drinks and sit and visit with my mom.  Gads that was the happy days for me.  Also Joe's Produce, the most fantastic store ever!  Went there for many years the best produce in the  U.S..  I should have bought a house down there near my sister in Livonia I would have been much happier.  I lived in Farmington for years.

Jan/Jeanne/Scarlett/Taffy, (won't do that again  :lol ) hope you got my thank you pm.

Just put on a pot of Minestrone Soup for dinner.  It is rainy and cold here in the 50's.  So soup it is!!  I am also listening to CLAY sing.  What a marvelous CD.  Watched him on GMA and hope people go out and buy the CD and find all the wonderful music on it.  The first song on the CD is my least favorite and reminds me of another song he did on MOAM.  Don't care for it.  Songwriters be proud you did a great job !!
 

I live only a few miles from Laurel Park.  I don't know if I will be up to going quite yet, but we will see.

The therapist was for hubby, not me. Although I could use one right now.

But the problem is solved.
My son came to the studio for lunch and commented on how worn out that I looked. I told him al that I was doing. So my wonderful son is going to come to the house every morning (which is way out of the way for his work) and get hubby out of bed and out of his pjs and into his clean ones and robe and slippers and help him downstairs and then go to work.

I did not want to ask him as his work keeps him so busy, but being the kind soul that he is, he volunteered right away. without being asked.

So tonight we are going out to our Wed. night dinner and I will bring hubby back his favorite meal. so things do have a way of working out.

Tomorrow I can paint :bigsmile :bouncy :lol :smile

Well, the kitchen is done now.  It turned out beautifully.  I"m very pleased.  This marks the end of a long project that began three years ago.  Once I get things put back things should ease up a bit around here.

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE! 

I  put some stuffed French toast in the oven to bake .  Nice crispy bacon on the side.  Sliced bananas and blueberries with cream over them in pretty rainbow colored bowls.  Cranapple Juice, V8 juice and Orange juice in their frosty pitchers.  Of course our  :coffeepot :coffeepot is nice and hot and a couple of pots of hot tea is on the table.

Bummer.  I wish I had set my DVR.

Wow - what a change in weather. It was 90 degrees in Florida and I come home and it's in the 60's and raining today.

Bozena and I had such a great time together. Not just on the ship, just everyday. She is such a joy to be with and it's comforting just sitting with her. So many laughs and such a good time.

Thankfully, I downloaded from iTunes and burned it to a disc. I carry it with me like it is GOLD.  Need it at home, in the car, and especially in my CD player at work.   I want one of the REAL CD's in my hand so I can see the pictures and lyrics, etc.

A sunny but cold day here in East Tawas!  Off to get dressed and head to Walmart to pick up a few things, to the bank and to the nursery to pick up a landscape timber so hubby can put the new bird feeder up he built me.  Hope everyone has a great Friday!!!!!!!!!!

SOOOOOOO, i went to Best Buy and bought my Clay CD. I am going to play it tonight after hubby has gone to beddy by at his usual time , nine o clock. Then  I will give him my full attention.
At the store I asked the young male clerk if he liked Clay Aiken and he said "I am no in to Western music"????????? :bduh :bduh

I also bought Neil Diamonds latest dvd/cd; HOME BEFORE DARK. yOU would like it. I like it better than his CD of last year; 12 SONGS. sOME Of the old Neil is on the new one and some very good songs, terrific lyrics. He is such a genius. Maybe someday CLAY will be hit with the songwriting bug.
I can hardly wait to hear the CD.

Hubby is doing fine. No problems, have to take him to the Dr next Wednesday. The only problem we are having is my cooking, so I am picking up at take outs. Last night I tried scrambled eggs. NO GO!!!! Messy, burnt, yuck. Also went to the store for the first time in years. Boy did I get it when I got home, the wrong labels, paid too much, etc, etc, etc, He said "Do not get used to shopping" and inwardly i said " Hallelujah"

Sun hat waiting for me. I am , whatever a better word for enthusiastic is, that is what I am.
NOW, if I could sell a few that would make me happier. Usually an artist has to have a backlog of work in a series to have a show. I know artists who have taken as long as 4 or 6 years to built up a show. Before I had my fire, I had 5 years worth of  Gothis paintings ready and the show was only 2 months away.
I want a Sunhat show so I m ay have to take about one more year to make up that many paintings of that genre. So far, I have 5 finished. Also have to do something else so am doing simple etchings on the side for local shows. Now that is more that you want to know about art I am sure.

On my way home (sound familiar) Have to stop at the pet store for kitty kat food.

Sayesha is in town with the Fox crew. Big parade this afternoon and on our local station, then singing sspecially for her High School pals at Booker High School, then with the lovely ocean as a background on the lawn of the Ringling Museum of Art. If she wins, I would not be unhappy. What a great personality, have seen her on the local channel and she is lovely.

I was Taffy until I got married and hubby refused to call me Taffy so called me Jeanne after umpteen years of being TAFFY NORMAN
