SESSION 122 OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS!!!

Here is how we started:

Welcome, everyone to the very first meeting of the "OCD Support Group". (Obsessive Clay Disorder)

I am shy, so I walk slowly into the room and find a seat in the back. The meeting begins and there is a room full of claymaniacs. It is very quiet. I raise my hand very slowly. Pamela notices and asks, " Do you have something to share?" My knees are shaking, but I am able to finally get the words out.
"Hi. My name is Woodstock. And I suffer from OCD." The room erupts with applause. I hear so many things around me..."Welcome, Woodstock, what a great step to admit that!" "I do, too..." "We're all with you..." And I knew immediately that I have come to the right place.

We all talk about it, and joke about it, but this can be a serious subject,too. I love Clay, but quite honestly, I have worried about why I spend SO much time listening to him, downloading everything..talking about him on-line , taping EVERY TV show . And more than anything, simply thinking about him night and day. He enters my thoughts in the middle of just about everything! What is going on???
I am a 50-year-old (yikes) wife and mother of three children aged 18, 21 and 23. I have a career and am involved in many things. Then somehow, Clay has entered the picture and I fear he has taken over more of my life than I care to admit.

I realized awhile back that I suffered from OCD. But it was hard to admit to anyone. My 18-year-old son kept telling me that I was obsessed, and after awhile, I began to think he was right. And I spent night and day wondering what was wrong with me. Why are my thoughts going to Clay in the middle of a a school lesson or a church sermon? Why can't I wait to get home and turn on a Clay CD or check out claymaniacs.com to get new info on Clay? If Clay was going to be on a TV station that I didn't get, I HAD to find someone to tape it for me. I was beginning to think I was losing my mind. REALLY!!!

Then I found claymaniacs. It has been wonderful for me to talk to you. The more I got to know you guys, the more I was able to let it all hang out. And what did I learn? I'm NOT the only one. There is something about this guy that grabs you and wraps around your heart, and you're hooked. You are NOT going crazy, I have come to learn after talking to so many of you. I get pms and e-mails from people after I have posted something I couldn't admit anywhere else, and I realize I'm not alone! And it has been a great comfort to me. It took a little while, but I now know that I'm OK. And I feel much better. Now, I am enjoying Clay SO MUCH MORE, because I am not worrying about myself.

Let me make this perfectly clear: I am not over my OCD! I still think about Clay all the time (24/7?) and listen to him sing(OMG) constantly, and download, and chat about him. But I no longer worry that there is something wrong with me. I know I am not alone. There is something so very special about this man. He is the whole package. Because I was able to feel better after admitting things to you guys here, I decided that this is a thread that is needed here. Here is your place to vent. Admit your feelings, or confess something that you have thought or done. It is our hope that by doing that, you will find out that it's OK and you will stop worrying about yourself, and now be able to enjoy Clay even more. I hope this is a place everyone can come back to as needed.

Rules, rules, rules.... Everyone must promise to be kind, respectful, non-judgemental, and supportive. (Easy for claymaniacs.) Again, this is your place to get something off your chest, or just admit your OCD and accept it. So, let the discussions begin!
Just for fun, if you join in the conversation, you then become an official charter member of the OCD Support Group, and can add that to your signature if you wish. I look forward to each and every one of your posts.

That was the beginning of Session 1.

And now on to Session 121.  WHO WOULD EVER HAVE THOUGHT??? We are moving along. I am SO happy so many of you have stayed around for the long haul, and welcome each and every new friend here. I say WOW!!!!! Good times with good friends. That is what this is all about.

I am no longer including a detailed description of our Therapy Center (just pretend, for those of you that are new.) I will just say that we meet in a Cyber Cottage on a Street With No Name. We have to continue the THUD room, as it is such an important part of our therapy. So please feel free to frequent it as needed. For more details, please read a past thread.(Located in the Archives.) And Pepe did ask for a Cybermaid to come in once a month. These girls have always been high maintenance, but worth it.

As for the rules, these are to keep the place somewhere we all are proud to come to:
I will repeat the rules, because we now have 6!!! At the request of Bocaqueen, we have added #6:
YOU MUST BE: 1. kind 2. respectful 3. non-judgmental 4. supportive
AND 5. YOU MUST NEVER SAY THE "s" word. (sorry). No need to apologize for thoughts and feelings. 6. No dieting when at OCD meetings. Period.

And I am going to take it upon myself to add a suggestion (one that many people make to me), but not make it a rule. It is your choice as your time allows. But I am going to say that if you don't have time PLEASE DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO KETCHUP !!! Jump in and say hi, tell us what is up in your Clay world, and have good conversation. Yes, you may miss someone's post, but we never want being here to be so time-consuming that it causes frustration, family problems, or a cause to drive you away. We never want ANYONE to feel they need to address each person. It is simply impossible and no one expects it anymore. If some people choose to do that, it is their choice, but simply not expected. We have grown so big, and happily so!!! So, let's just jump in, read one page behind, and enjoy the conversation. Not a rule!!!! Just something that has been suggested to me many times...

And our OCD pact: No hard feelings if someone doesn't mention you in their post. We are getting far too big for that to ever be a reality again, but we are blessed by many new friends. We are a happy group here. And we intend to keep it that way.

Every now and then someone pms with me a concern, idea, or observation. I appreciate and take to heart each and every pm. I feel we are all equal in this thread, equal partners, but because I started this thread some people come to me, and I am happy to help if I can. Recently, someone came to me asking me to remind everyone that we are a PG thread, we are "family friendly", as Clay would see it, and we do welcome in friends of all ages. If the spirit moves you, and you feel your comments may not be within PG, claymaniacs does have threads for this.  There is the Black Leather Pants thread and the Motor City Red Thong Mafia thread in Current Community Central, and the Adult Playground forum in Communities. Thank you for understanding this. I do not think we have crossed the line, in my opinion, but it does not hurt to bring this subject up as one of concern to some OCDers.

This has come up again. People want to have fun here, and we do, don't we??? Let it continue, but we welcome friends of all ages, so let us keep it PG.

Here is a toast to all of you that we may be here for 100 more sessions.  We stick together thru sickness, trouble, happiness and we are always here to pick each other up and put a smile on your face.  I talk to more of my OCD family than I do my own blood relatives.  You are so important to me and are a main part of my life.  I have never received so many cards or gifts before and every day is exciting to see what you are all doing and who needs comforting and who needs feeding.  My heart is full of love for each of you !

Happy 100 Everyone!

Sometimes when I think about coming to Claymaniacs and finding the OCD, it's hard for me to believe that it's been over 2 years since I first started coming here.  Like many of you, I was one of those people who wasn't sure about the feelings I had about how much I enjoyed Clay's music and how I wanted to know so much about him and how I couldn't wait to see him on another show.  I felt like it was an "obsession" and that word doesn't normally have a good connotation.  When I found the OCD and realized that there were many other people with the same "condition" I was so relieved.  I felt welcome here from the very beginning.  I lurked for awhile and then I started PMing with Clandy as we were getting ready for the big North Carolina concert weekend and she convinced me to start posting more.  What a great decision that was!

I have been lucky enough to meet most of the people that post at the OCD.  I have made many, many friends here and was lucky enough to meet one of my best friends here.  It may have been Clay that initially brought us together, but that's not why we stay.  We stay for each other. 

Here's to 100 more sessions!!

WOMEN WHO BECOME VERY CLOSE FRIENDS- WHO WELCOMED ME WITH OPEN ARMS, WHO LISTENED TO MY MOANS AND GROANS WHEN I WAS DOWN, WHO SUPPORTED ME WHEN I NEEDED IT

AND I FOUND, STRANGELY ENOUGH, THAT THE MORE I POSTED ON THIS BOARD, THE MORE PEOPLE I FOUND THAT WERE JUST THE SAME.

"The Starfish Story"

A little girl was walking along a beach that was covered with thousands of starfish left dying in the sun by the receding tide.  Seeking to help, she picked up a starfish and tossed it back into the ocean.

A man, amused by her action, said to her "Little girl, there are too many starfish.  You will never make a difference."  Discouraged, she began to walk away.  Suddenly, she turned around, picked up another starfish, and tossed it as far as she could back into the sea.  Turning to the man, she smiled and said, "I made a difference to that one!"

The man looked at the girl inquisitively and thought about what she had said and done.  Inspired, he joined the little girl in throwing the starfish back into the sea.  Soon others joined, and all the starfish were saved.

Somedays this site can be hard when we come for fun but real life seems to get in the way.  But I truly believe that one of us whether it be a hug, a post, or a little positive comment that we don't make a difference in someones life here.....Lorraine

PRAYER LIST

Welcome to The OCD's/Claymaniac's Prayer List. Many of our OCD/Claymaniac members have expressed a desire to share our Love, Care and Concern for each other through the Love and Faith we share in Our Lord. This has resulted in starting a Prayer List that includes the names of our members that have requested to be prayed for and therefore, reflects the needs or petitions of/for the individual.

We will divide this list into three areas for prayers.  The first will be for a general/daily prayer, next is for Urgent/"SOS's" to God as emergencies arise, and last is for circumstances that we are aware of or that the individual has they, themselves requested.

We are doing this away from the main pages as not to offend anyone who is not of likemindedness. We ask that as we respect your decision not to join us in Prayer, that you accept our need, as believers, to minister to each other in this fashion.

We do, however, invite you to read our list, and if you would like to, just take the time to think good thoughts and well wishes for those who are suffering or in need.

I hope you all bear with me in overseeing this list. If you find I have not included someone., it is either because they requested not to be included or that I am not sure where you stand on this issue. If you would like to be added to the list, please PM me with your request. If I have added you in error, my apologies and please notify me thru PM asap.

Everyone who has requested to be part of this group will be listed daily. If there is nothing beside your name, it is either I am not sure if something that you told me was announced publicly or privately to me and therefore for privacy issues, I would not take the chance to include it. Know that if it is not there and I am aware of it, as any of you may know things about one another that we ALL are not privy to....please remember to include those in your private prayers. ------------------------------------------------------------

CLAY AIKEN: Most merciful Father...our prayers are for Your obedient steward, Clay.  Lord, Clay does Your work utilizing his beautiful voice for Your praise and glory and the benefit of children and all people..we ask that you guide him to where he can best share Your love and aid those without a voice.  Thank you for this young messenger you've sent to us who exemplifies doing Your will and sharing Your word.  We pray for Clay's protection...please keep him safe on whatever path he may be at the moment.  Keep Clay strong for the journey ahead.  Let his good deeds shine forth and forever change the lives of the less fortunate who have been victims of horrendous hardship.

Father, Clay is going through difficult and personal issues....meanspirited people are constantly attacking this wonderful young man.  We ask that You give him the strength to get through these vicious attacks and let him continue getting through these hurtful times with grace, dignity and a continued faith that You are always by his side carrying him through.
Also, we ask that You watch over Clay's brother, Brett, who is serving in the military. Please, keep their Mother, Faye Parker strong, in the midst of such worry for both of her beloved sons. Father, grant us, these, our urgent requests.



Alli_Aiken/Alli: Father of Mercy, we come to You over and over, always asking something of You.  In Your Love and Mercy, You listened to the prayers of Your faithful.  Our young, sweet friend Alli had been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease but is now, thankfully in remission.  We knew that medically, this is one of the most curable of Cancers.  However, we had knowledge beyond that of the medical type...we had knowledge of You....the Master Physician and Healer.  We knew that You would be carrying Alli through every step of her healing.  We ask You continue to lay Your healing hands upon this wonderful young lady. Thank You O Merciful Lord.

ClayDevotee/Thea: Father Almighty, Father of Mercy....You have nothing but love and concern for Your children.  Our dear friend, Thea, has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had been undergoing daily treatments until recently.  The treatments have now stopped.  The Dr's have advanced so far in helping people diagnosed with this dreadful disease, however, we know that You are the answer to everything.  We ask You once again, to lay your healing hands on Thea and cure her of any disease that may have been invading her body.  Give her strength and courage  along with even a deeper faith at this most trying time.  We are here Father to aid our friend along the way...use us to do Your will and minister to one another.

Claymaniac2000/Janet:  Dearest Lord...We come to you with great concern about our friend Janet.  Janet has been suffering with back pain and Shingles for awhile now, however, today, she could not feel her legs and was taken to the ER.  Please, we ask that there be nothing serious happening and that she will soon be home and back to normal.  As for her aches and pains that she has had, we pray that You heal her and restore her to a pain free life.  Thank You for always hearing our petitions.

LadyC/Kris: Heavenly Father, we ask and ask of You. This time we come to you on behalf of our friend Kris.  Kris has had to face many trials in this lifetime......we ask that You look upon our friend with mercy, and heal her from all afflictions and ease her many burdens.  Lord, we know that You are merciful and kind and that You will hear the plea of Your faithful.  Thank You for the grace You bestow upon us.

Pamela:  Father of Love and Mercy, we come to you on behalf of a very special friend and her mother.  At this moment, Pamela's mother is in a hospital in Tenn. with breathing problems and blood pressure issues.  We ask that you watch over her and heal her of any medical  problems.  May you give her strength and courage to get through this difficult time.  We also ask that You help Pamela though this frightening situation and gently remind her that You are there to handle all of the burden and to be leaned upon always. Thank You Lord, for always being our strength and comfort.

Wordsmith1223/Lynn: Father, orchestrator of all things, we came to You in prayer and implored You to lay Your healing hands on Charlie and restore him to perfect health. You heard us and have taken the Life-Threatening threat away from this young man.  The news looks positive, however Charlie is suffering with eye issues and he will need a Cornea Replacement in the aftermath of his illness.  We ask that there will be no permanent damage, and we are confident knowing You will heal him.   Father, You are the Master Physician and we place all faith in You and thanking You always for allowing us to come to You with these our prayers.

CLAYMANIAC FRIEND'S: 


ACCOUNTRYFAN/JERRY :Father, we are very concerned with our friend Jerry's High Blood Pressure.  Please, help him to get this under control and be aware of the things that cause this problem. Also, we ask You to help him to face new experiences without anxiety. Thank you for the friendship he brings to us.

AIKENISMYIDOL/MONICA : Loving Father, Give Monica direction, courage and the ability to use all the many talents she possesses. We ask that You grant our young friend good health and happiness always.

alli_aiken/Alli:Dearest Father, Our young friend is carrying around a heavy heart....she is finding college difficult even though she graduated at the top of her High School Class.  Change is difficult for anyone, but, it is especially hard on someone at this age.  Alli also has a financial burdens.  These burdens are part of the depression she is experiencing.  Also, she feels lonely.  We ask that You comfort her, give her strength and guide her to where she needs to be in her life.  Lord, we are all here for our friend, but,  please, put her together with some wonderful people her age that she may enjoy this special time of her life.

ANGELA : Our friend Angela has been at her job for many years and is in danger of losing it...please grant her peace of mind that all things will work out for the best in whatever direction You may lead her. Also, Angela's Dad had a seizure in the recent past and there is constant concern for him because of this and other health issues.  We once again ask you to hear the prayers of so many that care, and watch over this loving father and husband. 

BOCAQUEEN/SUSAN : Lord, Please remember Susan's Mother who has suffered for 8 years with a dibiliating cough and who also has a Brain Anuerysm. Both of Susan's sons have very high blood pressure and we pray that there is no danger to them from reprecussions of this pressure. We also ask for Little Stephanie who has Hydrochephalis and numerous other health issues. Lord of Mercy, we know that Stephanie's battles are far from over but we come to You, the Master Physician, asking to please, heal this child of all her many afflictions and give strength and comfort to those who love and care for her. Also, we pray for healing for Susan's little cousin Angela who has severe Autism. We also ask that You heal our friend Susan from the symptoms she is suffering with from her Graves Disease and Severe Hyperthyroidism.

BOZENA : Please Father, continue to give healing to her ankle that has had many surgeries. May Bozena have success with weightloss as it is important towards getting her Diabetes under control. Lord, please bless our wonderful caring friend for her good works...she is a testament to Your way.
 

Clays_Buddy/Liz.... Loving Father, our dear friend Liz has lost her battle with her illness, ALS, but has now gained everlasting peace.  She meant so very much to us, and has touched all of our lives.  We now pray for her family: for Eric, her dear husband that couragiously faced this illness with Liz and was there for her all the way.  For her son, Blake, we pray that he will carry his mother's loving memories his whole life, and remember all the wonderful things she taught him raising this fine son.  And we pray for Liz's Mom, Lauretta, and the rest of her family as they deal with their terrible grief.  May memories and knowing she is now in your loving hands bring comfort to them all.


claysjoy/Kris :Most gracious and understanding Father, we know you hear each and every prayer...we come to You and ask You to have mercy and grant another request....our friend Kris is having her patience tried and is suffering within and needs your help to cope. Please, we ask that You embrace her with Your presence and calm her. Bring peace and serenity into her life , that she is in such need of. Thanks be to You O Lord.

CL4CLAY/EVELYN : Lord,  Our beloved friend  Evelyn has Hyperthyroidism and is suffering from many of it's symptoms , but is most worried about the Double Vision it is causing. Please Father, we ask that You stabilize Evelyn's condition and take away this  trouble with her eyes as it is also dangerous for her to get around. May you look upon our special friend with favor and bless her with all that makes for a good life...health, happiness and love.

claydevotee/Thea : Father,  please shower Thea and her loved ones with all of Your wondrous blessings.

CLAYFAN4LYF88/KIMMY :Lord, Our young friend is suffering with depression.  Please, lift Kimmy's spirits and take away all the pain she is going through. 

Claymaniac113078/Cindy: Father of Love and protector of all, we humbly beseech You to surround Cindy and her family with Your light, keeping all evil away and letting no harm befall this precious family. Burdens were many and we prayed that You would lift and ease the heartache.....and You did.  Loving Lord, we knew there would be only one set of footprints, and there were, for You  carried them through this trial and gave Cindy and her family strength and comfort. Thanks be to You O Lord. Please, bless Cindy and her loved ones with, health, happiness and lots of love.  We give thanks and praise for Your bringing an end to the turmoil that had been faced by this wonderful family.

CLAYMANIAC2000/JANET : Merciful Lord, we ask for healing for Janet's back pain and health issues.  May You watch over Janet as she lives alone and we worry about our friend.

CTlovesCLAY/LINDA :Lord of Mercy, dear Linda is suffering with many health issues and her eyes are of particular concern.   Please, heal her of all these woes. Father, please give Strength and comfort to our friend as she also cares for her Mother and Mother-in-law. It is most difficult and exhausting being a caretaker, but such a pure and selfless act.  Also, we ask for healing FOR both these women who are ill. We ask that you bless Linda with nothing less than health, happiness and lots of love.

DUDLEY5 : Heal our friend from her cancer Lord, for You are the Master Physician with whom all things are possible. Thank you dear God for bringing Dudley safely out of her surgeries and we ask that you give her strength, comfort and hope to believe that she will *~*SoOoN!!*~* be through with all this heartache and fear.
Also, prayers are being sent up for her beloved son who is a Pilot...Lord, You surely know the nature of what he is in urgent need of.  Please, watch over him , keeping him safe from all harm and give his family strength and comfort during this difficult time.

fhmmany :Bless our friend dearest Father, and protect this lovely person , her husband Lewis and all her loved ones, from any ill. May happiness always surround Frankie and her beloved family.
Grant peace, prosperity, and especially good health to this generous, warmhearted and caring lady. May You heal her granddaughter Laney, from all her ear problems.

FLAKENFORAIKENINFL : Lift our dear friend's spirits as she struggles with personal issues. O most merciful Lord, please help our friend with the heavy burden she is carrying at her job, this is the time she would need to see just "one" set of footprints.....please Father...Carry her through this. Lord...we also ask that you watch over  her husband Roy, her daughter's and parents as well .

forever_clay/Amanda :Please, most merciful Father, guide Amanda, Your precious Child, to a place that will make her happy and whole. Let her realize she has many who care and are concerned for her and her wellbeing. Give Amanda Hope, Comfort and craddle her in Your Loving arms. May whatever is missing or difficult in her relationships at home be healed and replaced with unconditional love and acceptance.

Geraldine/Charlene:  Father in Heaven, we come to you on behalf of our sweet friend Charlene and her family.  We ask that You watch over them always keeping them safe from harm and all evil.  We especially are worried about Charlene's son who is suffering severe depression.  Lord, You alone can lift this mans spirits and help him through these trying times.  Heal him and bring sunshine, laughter and love back into his life.  May this family be filled with Your Spirit and turn to You for all their needs.  We thank You for hearing all of our prayers . We know that You answer them in Your own time and in Your own way, knowing what is best for us.

GLORY/DIANE :Lord, we worry so about our special friend.  She struggles in many areas of her life, and we ask that You intervene and ease her burdens.  Keep Glory healthy and provide her with all that is necessary for her to get through these trying times. We also thank You for bringing Diane's son and family back to the States safely where they can be together with their loving Mother. Tim is a missionary who has lived his life doing your will Father and spreading Your word  and now he, his wife and their new baby girl have relocated back here to the States.  Tim has not found a place, as of yet, to continue doing Your work.... Please direct this family where they can best serve You O' Lord.

Heater/Heather :Lord, our friend Heather has been trying so hard to lose weight ,like so many of us, please give her the perserverence and strength to follow through and keep to a regimen. Also, at this moment Heather is dealing with a lot of stress at work.  This should be a temporary issue, but prayers always ease everyones burdens and so we come to You on behalf of our sweet friend.

HER/JAYNE :.Dearest Lord, we prayed to You asking for our dear friend Jayne to be in a position where she would find happiness and strength and Lo and Behold You have once again answered our prayers. Father, in all Your mercy You brought a wonderful man, by the name of Kirk, into Jayne's life. Kirk has given Jayne love abounding and treats her with kindness and respect, and all things that were missing in her life for so long.  Soon, the Two shall become One, and we ask that You continue to bless this union. Our prayers are also continuous for Jayne's Dad and healing from his cancer and his knee replacement. Jayne's younger brother also has had health issues and our prayers are with him as well. Thanks be to You o Lord!

HOUSTON/COLLEEN
Most merciful and loving Father, You have answered our prayers yet again by blessing Colleen and Scott with beautiful twin girls. Abby and Annie have bought such joy and happiness to this family. However Father, as You know, little Annie had been suffering from Seizures and possibly has developmental issues......Please, we ask You to heal this precious little girl. Father, we also ask that You Heal Colleen's brother who is paralyzed on one side and give strength to his family as they care for him.  It is most difficult being a caretaker and dealing with the heartache as well. Bless this family and provide them with strength and courage.

ILCLAYMATE/ANGELA :  Bless Our friend Angela for all the joy she brings to us each day. May You shower this family with Your gifts of health, happiness, love and prosperity.  Also we ask that You heal Angela's husbands shoulder and keep him free of pain.  Watch over litlle Nicker's as he is truly a special little boy who is loved by all.

Carpal Tunnel is another issue that causes much pain and difficulty for our dear friend. Please, lay Your healing hands upon this wonderful woman and restore her to the best health possible.  Also, we ask that You keep our friend safe from all ill and enrich her life with all that would bring her happiness.

PHILLYLUVSCLAY :Most merciful Lord....Please heal the stomach problems that our special friend is suffering with. Father, Our friend  has gone  thru a trying time in her life in the recent past...please, continue to bring her peace and comfort from the pain of the memories of how her family has sufferend beyond the trials of most. May she Continue to have a beautiful spirit which she shares so richly with everyone here. Continued prayers for her dear sister Cathy in her everyday challenges. Happy Session 122, Everybody! I forgot to say this morning that I smiled at how many of us were getting their hair done/cut/colored in order to go see Clay - just in case he looks our way!  :lmao

Frankie ~  that is so funny I got my hair cut the day before the concert! it was awesome! soo how are you?.........me been behaving! Its getting easy now! :lol

Frankie - You are so right!!!! We all got our  hair cut, colored , etc. all in the hope that Clay would look our way.

I'm looking forward to Florida and seeing Bozena again. Did I tell you all about the shower incident?  Well, if I did, just pass over this.  Bozena went to take a shower in my home and I told her I'd take one when she was finished. So she finished and I get the water adjusted and turn the shower on and go to get in and the water hit me in the face and hair and I'm yelling , "Bozena - what did you do?" (as i tried - with closed eyes to get out of the shower. Now I hear Bozena laughing - Well, it seemed the shower head was too low for her so she adjusted it for herself, BUT FORGOT TO RE-ADJUST IT!!! So , naturally , when I got in,  it hit my face, eyes, soaked my hair, etc.  - Well, that was only the first day that Bozena was with me - . I think she is still laughing - I haven't gotten even yet!!!!

AC, that is a whole lot of awards in different categories too. Wow, I wonder if Strait put them all in a mantel or build a special place just for them. He probably shows them off to his guest all the time…I would. Fifty-five millions…that’s a lot of albums and for only 26 years. I have never own his album…I have seen him on television but never really pay much attention. Very interesting.

Frankie, binoculars was a fantastic place for those tickets.  You knew what you would be using for a close view on Clay!  Very creative.  I would go off of the no sweets rule too.   It's vacation time.  Mom got your card today.  Thank you so much.  She just appreciates them so much.  :hugg

Ok, now the big news of the day is that my daughter will be having a little boy!  We met her and hubby after the ultra sound for breakfast.  She handed us a blue picture book with our first picture, an ultrasound of him.  You could really see his head and chest really good.  It was magnified quite a few times.   What technology does today.  Anyway, we are very happy for them.
MY SIL must be in heaven!  They already have a bib and pacifier with the Red  Sox emblem on it.   Dec. 27th is the target date, but you  know how that goes.   He's healthy and that is what really mattered to us.

AC - We've vacationed in Nashville lots of time - what a great city to visit - you should schedule you vacation next year for what was once called Fan Fair - now it is the Music City Festival, I believe. You would have a week full of seeing the country stars and getting autographs. I think that is one of the best festivals ever - country stars each have their own booths and just sit and talk to fans for a week!


Kat - I am a little tiny bit worried about you, since I will be gone, but remember - like Prissy - I will have my laptop, and I will be checking in!  :para :naughty

Pepe - I didn't know you were expecting another grandchild - Congratulations to you, too. When my SIL was born his brothers were in the 12th, 11th, and 10th grades - he says he has never suffered under the illusion that he was planned!  :lmao

Change of plans! Lewis just said that we have gotten everything done, and he would like to leave early tomorrow afternoon instead of Friday morning. We will stay in Natchez, Ms tomorrow night (on the Mississippi River). There is lots to do there, too, and it will be a good start to our trip. We've called Jack's sitter, and it is O.K. with her, so I have to finish packing tonight!

 :hugg Sara, Kat and Betty - the only bad thing is that everybody on the OCD can't be with us in Knoxville - someday we will all be at the same concert - and Clay will have to be really afraid!  :para :lol

Marilyn - my Trailblazer seats 7, so I figure between the two of us and Prissy's minivan we can get transportaion for everybody who needs a ride to the theatre - see you Sunday!

Just a quick last note.  It's almost midnight here and too excited to sleep.  Prissy and Skip will be here at 7:30am.  Everything is ready for their van, but I don't want to be tired.  It is going to be a long drive from here to Memphis.   Going to see Graceland and I've never been.  Saturday, we will see Loretta Lynn in  concert.Then Clay on Sunday! :clayfan
    Now that Mom(Jennie) has officially been Clayed in Houston, she is anxious to see him again on Sunday.  She is even going to stand in line with us at the bus to get a handshake.   She is becoming a true Claymaniac.

I sent hubby an e-mail today, and it came back undeliverable.  I called him at home and on his cell and didn't get him, so I got worried.  FINALLY got hold of him, and he was asleep.   :naughty  But being the worrier that I am, I couldn't go to sleep without getting through to him.  It appears his e-mail address changed and I didn't even know it.  Heck, I don't e-mail my own husband that often.   :lol

He also told me that I took my car keys with me and left the windows down and it rained 2 nights in a row.   :bang  Michelle suggested that I Fed-Ex him one of the pairs tomorrow, so that's what I will do.

Is anybody still here? I can't sleep either!  :lol We will be leaving tomorrow as soon as Lewis gets out of a doctor's appointment at 2 (he's not sick - our old doctor moved, and he has to see a new doctor tomorrow to get his BP and gout prescriptions written by the new doctor.

I finally installed the mouse we bought weeks ago for the laptop - it works great! I don't know why it took me so long to buy one.  :bduh (Only cost $15) I have never used the laptop much because it didn't have a mouse, and I hated all of that tapping to move around the screen.

Tiffany - I am so excited for everyone - I will be just as happy to hear everybody else's experiences as I will to see Clay myself. and I am excited because this is Lewis' first non-Christmas concert. Clay was funny last December in Jacksonville (Lewis was surprised at how funny). I just want him to see what a great entertainer Clay really is!  :bouncy

I'm going to look around the site a little - hope I will get sleepy soon - lots to do tomorrow.

I just went to the Knoxville Thread and read the Tennessee Theatre's camera policy - it said the policy was up to the artist performing! That probably means that cameras will be allowed!  :purpbana :bigsmile

My mom called around 9:30 last night. I can always tell when something is wrong ... Moms just have that tone when they're upset. Anyway, my brother was in the hospital with a concussion last night. Yesterday was the first day of full pads and he got hit really hard in the head. Poor guy doesn't remember what happened before or after he got hit. Thankfully his CT Scan came back normal and he was to be released sometime last night.

 Good morning all...today promises to be yet another day of oven-inspired weather!!

Tiffany!! I see you are going to be on your way to North Carolina today...of course, you say it's because of the Clay concerts but deep down you're really going because you wanna check out the ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW museum...tell the truth! I once was contacted via mail in the mid '90s from TAGSRWA, that's an acronym for The Andy Griffith Show Rerun Watchers Association...no joke, it's a real fan-driven organization. I have seen all of the episodes 2 or 3 times already...not enough to know each and every detail but i've seen them. The show ran, 1960-1968. It holds the distinction of being one of the few programs to go off the air while having high ratings. At the end of the 1967-1968 season, the show was #1 in all of television but it went off the air...Andy and some others wanted to move on...and so the show was retitled MAYBERRY RFD, and it continued on until 1971. Let us all know what you think of Aunt Bee's pickles :lmao You won't "get" that joke unless you saw the episode. Oh, have fun seeing Clay as well :wink :bigsmile

One more thing, Tiffany...Tex Avery's "Slap Happy Lion" cartoon was just a one-shot cartoon. Avery, after he left Warner Brothers, went to MGM and started directing and animating the wild cartoons he's known for. One of them being "Slap Happy Lion". Do you remember WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT? That cartoon was influenced by Avery's style of animation with the wild, exaggerated facial expressions and the bugged-out eyes, etc etc.

Avery only had 2 popular "characters" and those were DROOPY and CHILLY WILLY {a penguin}. 95% of the other cartoons directed/animated by Avery were gag-filled and the main characters weren't as important as the sight-gag's and the jokes.

Thought you might like to hear some of the other things that happened to Lucy and Ethel. Well, it started off as soon as we hit the airport. Now I have to explain - Matt (my son ) was driving and I was in the passenger seat next to him. Now I always sit on a pillow and I have heated seats. Well, I put the heat on, even with the AC on because sitting on a pillow, my but doesn't get hot, but my seat has a lumbar back and the heat was helping my back. Anyway, when we hit the airport, there was Bozena waiting for us, so I throw the pillow in the back seat and climb in the back so that Bozena could sit in front. However, I forgot to turn off the heat. Bozena gets in and lands on this hot seat and her butt gets all this heat and she is yelling "You have the heat on!!!" = Well, Matt started laughing and turned off the heat to the passenger seat, but Bozena's butt took a while to cool down, while I'm laughing and trying to explain to her why I had heat on that seat.

OH well, just another adventure for Lucy and Ethel.

AC - Andy Griffith was one of my favorite shows.  There are a lot of fans of the show around me.  In fact, we had a Andy Griffith trivia contest at school for the teachers.  A question a day for a month.  Some of them were HARD.  I found several AG websites to help me.  We do contests like that just for fun at school.  I sure learned a lot that month!!!

lorraine - I know it will be quiet all around the board with several people gone at once.  That's how it is when you have Hussie weekends, too.   :lol  But I know you will be watching out for everyone like you always do.   :hugg  You know I will check in.  Not because I am worried, but because I miss you all when I can't talk to you.  I didn't bring my laptop, but I'm sure there will be several around.

I think I got an hour and a half sleep last night!! I had to finish up stuff for my boss, pack, make a t shirt, pay bills, etc. So I went to bed at 3:30 but I was not sleepy. Finally started to doze of about 4:15 and the danged cat kept meowing to go out of my room. Usually he sleeps there all night!!

And then the stupid financial institution called me at 8:15 am to tell me they had received my payment. What the hey??
So now I am going to shower and then go get a manicure/pedicure. I sorely need it

Tammy- I am sorry I forgot to mention your babies. They are so precious. I hope Ping will be all right-what little sweethearts they are-but I know how much the heat affects them.
Hope they will be well.

Just wanted to come and say hullo, tell you all that my doctor appointments went well on Tuesday and Wednesday. :smile Had Clay tunes stuck in my head the first day. :giggle It was good. :lol

Weight management person and nutritionist think I'll do quite well with weight loss and all that fun stuff, pacemaker lines are still connected. Though, the pacemaker doctor, Dr. S, noticed it did like a little fast pace every once in a while when it didn't need to, but he said not to worry. He asked me a few questions (like if I noticed my heart fluttering, or if I noticed it raced at any odd times, if I got dizzy, all that kind of stuff :lol), and I didn't notice really any of that going on. He gave me a couple options for it, but what we decided (he thought and I thought, and even mum though :lol) that the best option was to let the pacemaker run it's course and the battery will die in most likely a couple years and then it will be changed. :smile
Then I had just a regular check up after the cardiologist. I had a cutie of a doctor, I tell ya'. :slick :lol I rarely get young, cute doctors. :lmao
Dr. Cutie was so nice, he was wearing a Sesame Street tie. :roflmao Anyway, the checkup went quite well, usual questions asked (couple that I didn't expect, which made me flush a bit :lmao), and blood was drawn. First day over. One calcium level was crazy high, so in the near future I'll most likely have to have some kind of gland removed. :para :lmao I forget what exactly the gland's called, but it's nothing major whatsoever. If it stays, I could have bone loss, osteoporosis (I can't spell right now :lol), and many bone related things happening. It happens quite a bit with kidney patients, I guess, so yes . . .

Wednesday I just had to visit the hematologist, but had to go down the cities once again. Not bad, mum drove, we had grand fun both days. :lol
I had to visit them to see if I should keep taking coumadin (I don't know if I spelt that right either :lol It's a blood thinner, if you don't know what I'm going on about :lol). I have a blood clotting disorder too, so I've been taking that since . . . forever. :lmao But yeah, that went wonderfully spiffy as well. :smile Dr. White (he's an older gent, hair completely white, hence Dr. White :giggle) was really nice. Had more blood drawn after the appointment so they could do tests and all that fun stuff. :smile

So all in all, appointments went quite spiffy. :bigsmile Now I see a dermatologist in October, and weight management person in a few weeks to see how I'm doing, and then January have another kidney appointment with Dr. Serious. :smile

Both days me and mum went to Wally*World. First day to find me a couple bras. :para During my last appointment, the bra I wear (wore now, I s'pose :lol) just broke. :para I don't know how, it just did as I was sitting waiting for Dr. Cutie to return to the room. :eek :lol I didn't move or anything! :shocked But anyway, it broke, so we go to W*W, and I find a couple fun ones to buy. Get home, try them on . . . don't fit. :lol I'm quite picky when it comes to bras, so I was a bit saddened that I didn't like them when we got home. :lmao
Second day, go back to return the bras, look for a couple different ones. I find a couple that I really like this time, one I passed over first day. We go to look at CDs too, and I see Clay's MoaM. I say, "There's Clay!" :lol
Mum asks if I have that one, and immediately says, "You do have that one."
I say, "I know, it's just good to see him!" :roflmao Sounded like he was a friend that I hadn't seen in ages. :lmao :lmao
But anyway, the bra I looked over first day, I love the second day. :lol Second bra, don't like that one. :lol So back it goes. :lol

Anyhoo, my post is long enough. :hugg I'm going to go get an hour more of sleep in, I think. :smile

 Carla Sketch!!! I enjoyed reading your re-caps of the doctor appointments. I'm doing okay! Doctor Serious and Doctor Cutie with the Sesami Street tie. I usually insist on older doctors...but sometimes i don't. It doesn't bother me one way or the other...the thing that makes me uncomfortable is if the doctor appears unprofessional. In other words, i'd prefer a Doctor Serious over a Doctor Cutie...now, if we're talking about nurses, i'd suggest Nurse Cutie. I had a Nurse Cutie...well, i didn't have her, only as a nurse i mean, she was foxy though. However, the foxy they are i've often noticed with my keen understanding of people, the foxy they are the more stuck on themselves they are. I'm glad everything is going good with you...and hoping things will go okay so you won't have to deal with any osteoperosis, however that word is spelled. I know of the blood thinner you're talking about...i can't spell it, either. My dad takes it...so does my grandfather {not my dad's dad, it's my mom's step-dad}. My grandfather had his heart attack in 1994 a week before country singer George Jones had his heart attack...my dad has his heart attack early this year. Cumuldin or something...pronounced "cue-ma-dunn".

Okay, i'm back...that's an interesting anecdote about your bra breaking...most women while in the hospital or a doctor's office experience their water breaking...not their bra's. So, if i were in your position, i would've felt like melting into the floor or shrinking out of existance. I've had a similar occurence once...my pants ripped apart on me...i went to step up on the bus at work and i heard a ripping of jeans. I went through work most of the night with my legs together as i walked. It isn't the same as a bra breaking...but still, who wants any article of clothing torn in public...well, most people wear ripped clothes but i'm not of that calibur so it would be very peculiar if i were to appear hip but luckily the pants rip wasn't very noticable but i felt like everyone could tell. Way back when i was a teenager, a small facial blemish that could hardly be noticed at a distance, would annoy me because i could tell it was there. I felt like everyone was gawking at it and they weren't...they were gawking at me walking around with my hand on my face hiding the pimple :smile

I couldn't hold the camera good enough when i took the above picture...anyway, that's the inside cover of both DVD's. I also snapped a picture of a Bugs Bunny video i have. I bought this video in 2002 from Amazon...the video is about a 1990 TV special called HAPPY BIRTHDAY BUGS, when the character turned 50. Milton Berle has a memorable, though goofy, appearance dressed in a Bugs Bunny costume claiming to be the real Bugs Bunny and he's angry at this "animated imposter everyone's saluting". Milton appears throughout the special. It's a mock special...having on the spot reports by Joe Garagiola about Daffy Duck's attempts to ruin the birthday celebrations, etc etc etc.

Lolita: That's a unique combination...Andy Griffith and Wonder Woman. I used to watch the live action WONDER WOMAN on the weekends, they were in reruns. They aired i think Saturday afternoons around 3:30 on the local FOX station...right after the reruns of PRIVATE BENJAMIN...Lynda Carter, an image of her i'll never forget, her Maybelline Lipstick commercials. She'd pop up from a pond...naked from her shoulders up to the top of her brunette hair...with a row of lipstick around her. I do not know the importance of that kind of commercial since men don't wear lipstick...at least i don't think they do? So much has changed...i blame Boy George and Ru Paul...freaks like that. Anyway, i suppose since Lynda Carter was and still is a sexy hottie, that the producers of the commercials felt "well, heck, boys and men no doubt watch WONDER WOMAN...let's just have TV commercials of her in a pond in an alluring way...give the men something to connect with during a commercial aimed at women...". That's my theory.

Fast-forward almost 30 years and here is what she looks like today...this first picture is from a premiere of Pirates of the Carribean...Lynda was born in 1951 so she isn't as old as some may think. WONDER WOMAN ran on TV from 1975-1979. So, doing the math, Lynda was 24 when the show hit the airwaves.

I am still   :sonic I have a batch of brownies in the oven (Lewis cannot drive without fuel  :lol ) and I am taking a minute to check in.

I gave Jack a bath this morning - boy was that an experience  :lmao I think I was wetter than he was at the end - but it's so hot, that I didn't mind. Our friend should be here soon to pick him up - she lives out at the lake, but had doctors' appointments in town this morning, so she said she would just come by to get him - it is going to be sad to see him go.

Carla - so glad to hear that all of your doctor visits turned out well.

Kimmy - will you still be able to check in from college? I bet you will be really busy - try to keep in touch, though  :hugg

lolita - you are planning to have a party without all of the travelers?!?!?! That is O.K., though - there hasn't been a party here in a while - we once had them almost every night.

AC - what do you think about the Bionic Woman series coming back this fall? I loved the old one - going to try the new one to see if it is any good.

Lorraine - I've never gone overboard about Clay - at least I don't think so  :para This may be the one and only time I go to more than one concert in a Tour (and it is only because Lewis asked what I wanted for our Anniversary, and I said to see Clay again). With all of the wonderful clack, there is really no need for me to spend all of our money on concerts - I just wish that for once we could all end up at the same concert - I think everyone going to NC came close - I wonder how many members are going there?!

I've added US Airways to my Do Not Fly list. :lol My flight to Raleigh this afternoon was canceled and the next available direct flight isn't until 7:30 tomorrow morning. Sadly, there is someone who is in worse shape that I am. She's been trying to get home to Oregon since yesterday and her flight doesn't leave until LATE tomorrow. Needless to say, US Airways is on her list as well.

I can't complain too much, I guess. At least I have my laptop and a place to stay. I'll be wearing the same clothes tomorrow, though. Ick! They told me my luggage would actually make it to Raleigh this evening.

I'll be around later.

Everything is done, and I'm waiting for Lewis to get home from his doctor's appointment. Then we will only have to pack the ice chest (taking lots of water and juice), and we will water our plants one more time. We are pouring the water to our roses, and they look awful - I hope they can survive this heat. We hope to leave around 5, which is 2 hours from now.

Lindsay -  :bang I have been reading about all of the airline problems this summer - Newsweek said that 27% of all flights are either delayed or cancelled - that is awful. I hope everyone left with extra waiting time in order to get to their concerts. I hate to think of you just sitting there - there should be penalties for airlines who do this! They should be trying to get you on another flight, even if it is on another airline!  :soapbox

 :wave Hi CK! Hope you have a safe flight. It is raining here in Philly, so that might be some of the problem. My flight was actually canceled because of maintenance problems. The flight directly after mine was canceled too. The shuttle driver said US Airways has a hub in Raleigh and the it is the number one canceled flight from Philly. But, he also said the hotel wouldn't have internet. :lmao 

Frankie - Woody said the same thing about another airline. Unfortunately, I didn't call her until after I'd been rebooked. The line was SO LONG and I didn't feel like standing in it again. Believe me, they are not getting off cheap if they have to keep putting people in hotels.

 Linda: The answer to all three of your questions is no :bigsmile My pants ripped as a result of worn-out material :para I went to step up on the bus and as my right leg lifted up to reach the bottom step on the bus, the pants material sort of tightened on the top part of my leg most commonly referred to as a thigh. Well, that pressure apparently was enough to cause the minor rip in the pants. I knew it was there...so all night i was taking precaution and would follow people up the stairs to our work area instead of having people behind me who could easily look up between my legs and notice the break in fabric.

 Lolita: I didn't know about a new Wonder Woman...i went to Google and did a search and i found out that there is a movie being made about Wonder Woman but it's been in the planning stages since 2001. Joss Whedon, the creator of BUFFY, THE VAMPIRE SLAYER worked on most of the movie but left during post-production and so the project's release is up in the air. Are you talking about a movie or a TV show? I didn't see anything about a TV show...the movie that's being speculated, they hadn't even found anyone to play Wonder Woman yet.

Frankie: I never did see much of the Bionic Woman...i remember the 1980's movies Lindsay Wagner appeared on with Lee Majors. She of course was the Bionic Woman and he was the $6,000,000 Man. I believe the movie i watched was "Bionic Showdown: The Return of the Six Million Dollar Man". I watched Lee Majors on THE FALL GUY as well. I would expect a lot of computer gadgetry...since the Bionic Woman is a cyborg after all, i bet this film will be wall to wall computer graphics and special effects.

We are having a storm here so if I disappear then it is cause we have lost power.

 Lorraine: :no No, i'm not bored. I'm sleepy, though. I have my nights and days all messed up being on vacation. What happens is, i fall asleep at some point and then wake up and stay awake from then until i go to bed. If i were working, i'd be on a schedule of some kind...i'd be on the road to work at this time anyway...working at night keeps you awake and since i'm not at work, it's easy to get tired. I may re-watch my Superfriends DVD at some point.

Lolita: I answered your latest PM! You must have had Lynda Carter, "Wonder Woman" on your mind when you earlier posted about a Wonder Woman revival. Well, i posted to Frankie about the Bionic Woman, which is what you were wanting to ask me about. As i said to Frankie this new Bionic Woman series will perhaps take the special effects to the extreme. I think it'll be on NBC this fall. The cast are unknowns.

            The problem your doggie has sounds so much like the problem I"m having. The pnuemonia started when we had a lot of smoke
            from the fires burning here. I"m on the third course of antibiotics and still have more to take. The doctor told me it can take years
           to get rid of the infection and they have to be quite aggresive with  the treatment. Oddly enough  my hairdresser told me yesterday
           her father has the same problem.  It must have something to do with the smoke and dust inhalation. It just struck me as strange
           when I read your post. I hope your doggie is feeling better.

Hi everyone!  Things are crazy here, Matthew will be 7 months old on Saturday.  We haven't been getting much sleep around here, he is going through a little separation anxiety phase.   He goes to sleep fine, but wakes up about an hour later, and about every hour or so through the night.  So I have to type fast, it's almost time to start the whole process!   :bang

Gosh, how many of us are jealous of NC and TN goers...I'm happy for our Claytrekkers though and can't wait to hear all of the adventures!

Yesterday was a full one.  Scooter and I picked Kyle up at the airport...he had a good US Air story, flight landed a few minutes early!  He flew in from Charlotte.  Then, we had lunch at TGIFridays.  Then dropped Kyle off at his buddy's apt. Laura and I school supply shopped, then haircuts.  Back home picked up Katie and took her school supply shopping.  Then home and Kirk and I went and picked up the money for the sale of Kyle's Lexus, then shot pool.  I was sort of down knowing Kyly wasn't staying with us, but it's really a good thing that he's not.  Problem is, he hasn't made any plans to be with Laura and I...Hopefully Laura will get to hang with him sometime this weekend.  Such is life.........

I got up to check Lindsay's flight and it took off, thank goodness.  I hope she's on it.  As I haven't heard from her, I am sure she is.

I just want to say....as far as Clay concerts go, we just never know when and if he is going to be in our area, so we all have to go to the concerts that suit us best.  If I wasn't still off of school, I certainly wouldn't be here in NC.  And if I wasn't staying with Michelle, and sharing a car rental and hotel rooms with several others, I wouldn't be able to afford this trip. I am always happy to hear about everyone's Clay-treks.  And next week we will all be thinking of the FL girls.   :bouncy

I had weird dreams last night, because I woke up several times.  I had a dream about Boca.   :bduh  There were a bunch of people together, and she was there.  I guess that's because I have been thinking about her a lot.  Don't remember anything else.

And I had a dream about CLAY, and that doesn't happen too often.  He was singing Solataire, and it came time for the Glory Note, and the crowd wouldn't shut up so he kept waiting....then I woke up and never heard the note.   :lmao Our mind plays funny tricks on us.   :bduh

I'm off to eat a banana.  I'm babying my stomach.  Eating little bits at a time.  I'm afraid to eat a whole big meal.  In fact, I don't think I could anyway.  So I bought some bananas, cheese, ice cream  ( :lol ) and a few other things.  Will eat lightly on the road.

Lindsay has her laptop, so we will be able to check in from Asheville, as well.

PRISSY REPORT!!

PRISSY, SKIP, JOANN and JENNIE (JoAnn's mom), fought the Dallas traffic but made it to MEMPHIS by 6:00 yesterday so that is good.  Today they are going thru Elvis's house and than head to Nashville.

I cannot believe how cool it is in CT.  It kind of feels good for a change though.   Does anyone else here sweat.  Really.   I thought that stopped when you got older!!!!

Angela, I did not know about dad.   I sent you a pm.   Lorraine told me this morning.   I know how scared you must have been.  Thank God, he is in good spirits and will probably be home soon.  You are such a wonderful daughter.   I am sure mom and dad are just thrilled they you live so close.  It can ease their minds all the more.   I will keep dad in my prayers.   My MIL used to get those attacks, but look at her.  She is 98 and going strong.  God bless!

Tammy, no, I haven't been dreaming about dirty diapers because she will be using the disposables.  Not like me, who used cotton diapers.  Can you imagine?  I think you did too.  We did have diaper service for awhile as a gift.   When the babies got olderl, though, I did go to the Pampers.  What a relief that was.   I am thinking of Ping so much.

 Good morning all...i don't have a thing planned today. My mom let me sleep so that meant i didn't have to drive my dad to a doctor's appointment. He made the decision himself to drive. As i left the living room last night i peeked my face around the doorway and said "if i'm asleep, don't wake me up if you're not wanting me to drive you down to the doctor..." and so i woke up a little after 9 and he was already gone. So i don't have that to occupy my time this morning and so i'll just head over to the post office and then maybe stop by Wal*Mart.

By Saturday morning my vacation will be 1 week old. I have 2 more weeks to go. The last week, of course, will just fly by for some reason. The heat wave is over for the week...the next day we reach the mid 90s and low 100's will be Sunday. Today we reach 88...which is still hot.

Linda: I sweat A LOT!! In one of the pictures of myself i posted yesterday, if you examine it closely you could see the sweat on my chin. My hair was sweaty as well. It was before the central air was clicked on in the house.

My gothic neice will be attempting to get her driver's license this year since she's 16. I think September when school starts here there will be a driver's education class she'll be signing up for.

Of course, during an exam to get the driver's license, there's a vision test one has to go through. A person goes through one to re-new the driver's license as well. I have a strange feeling that when most of the women on here go to take their vision test when they re-new their driver's license, this is the chart they look at to determine the strength of their vision...

Tammy it is always difficult when our babies (pets) get sick. I’m glad Ping’s problem is not a serious one. I don’t mind giving medication to my babies for life as long as he/she is around and is not suffering. Yes, you did mention pond plants to me…I have been looking but I haven’t found anything that I like. My pond is now free of algae, thanks to your advice. Have fun coloring your hair. BTW, real life sometimes sucks but I wouldn’t change any of it…well maybe just a few. :wink :lol

 Lorraine: Yes...Linda did take a few drinks from that bottle. She ended up drinking the whole bottle during one hot yard sale. She kept marking the price down but nobody was buying it. She even offered to accompany the bottle with whoever bought it...but nothing worked. Finally she took it in the house and yelled at it. The pink elephant just sat there...and Linda was getting more angry and screamed: "YEAH! My mom is seriously talking my dad into some sort of disability retirement thing from the prison he works at...this osteoarthritis he was diagnosed with started in his leg somewhere and moved to one of his hips so he can't stand walking for long periods or sitting for long periods...it'll be interesting...the muscle relaxer pills aren't working according to my mom.

 Lolita: Don't believe her! I am warning you now...a "little get together" in the eye of Lorraine will ultimately turn into a full-blown party with chorus girls and chippendales...well, maybe not the chorus girls. The favors they pass around at their parties would make your eyes fall out and you'd be reaching for a brown paper sack because you'd hyperventilate. However, as you could guess, when you're at Lorraine's get togethers, there's usually a bottle in the brown paper sack's...so if you hyperventilate you're just out of luck!

I find most of my images...well, all of them, on Google. I simply Google a phrase or i Google a word and then click "images" and the images will appear on a page and i highlight the image URL and add whatever i'm wanting to Photobucket. I rarely use the hard-drive to save pictures...i simply copy and paste an image URL at Photobucket and the images appear...some people "right click and save target as" and all of that mumbo-jumbo but i don't do that often. Rare occasions i will if a URL comes back invalid, i'll give in and save the image on my hard-drive thingy.

We are in Tupelo, Mississippi! It is so hot!!!!!!!!!!!!! 105 here today - We toured Elvis' birth home (it is tiny). We are having a fun trip - spent most of the afternoon in the pool (thank goodness it is indoors!) then went to a nice Italian restaurant for dinner.

Hi All,

I don't mean to sound elusive about what's going on...there's just a bunch of stuff happening all at once and I am quite down.  Part of it involves my "lovely" almost ex son-in-law...he is up to something and he called us the other day telling us, " I don't mean to sound rude, but please, do not contact me in any way..not by phone, mail, e-mail, etc"  WHAT?  We only e-mailed him once about what was going..or should I say NOT going on with the sale of the house and letting him know we are trying our best to market the house and get people in to look at it and get it sold so that they both could get on with their lives.  He also said that his "representative" would be in touch with us...I guess that means ATTORNEY!   It's GOT TO BE about $$$$$, it always is.
Needless to say, Nikki is besides herself again and has been crying on the phone till all hours.

Anyhoo.....

ANGELA....I just read about your Dad being in the hospital again...and that he finally came home today.  I am sorry he and all of you, had to go through this yet again.  I will keep him in my prayers as always.  You are such a wonderful daughter and I am SURE they know how lucky they are to have you and you THEM!

Got back from the concert awhile ago.  Michelle, Sunny, Glory, Lindsay, and I didn't stay to shake Clay's hand because Michelle had to let Moonshot out, and it was hot today, and we are exhausted.   We will do  it tomorrow night.

The concert was great; it's funny how they can all be very different from one another.  I am going to post a short review in the cellcert thread, just my favorite parts.  I don't know if I will do that tonight or not.  Clay was very funny, as always.  He sang A Thousand Days, much to our surprise, and Lindsay and I were thrilled.  My favorite song of the night was MOAM.  He gave it his all, and it was great!!!!!

I thought I would catch up quickly and see how you all are.

Kat - I'm s*rry you didn't pass the test, sweetie, but you did SO well!!!!  I am sure you will pass next time.   :hugg

 :wave I know i'm notorious for not reading every intricate detail of every post...i didn't know there was a lot of talk about your attending North Carolina, specifically. I know there's been lots of talk in general about the North Carolina concert because there's so many people attending them that it's hard for those inclined to NOT talk about them. I saw Lolita quote you and i read it and so i gave my reasons for never attending out of state concerts...i'm sure others have their reasons, too. When you had wrote about sharing rental car expenses and rooms and prices for things as for the key factor in your being able to go, i took the opportunity to highlight the fact that i don't have that same luck, that was basically what that was all about. I often say things that don't come out right upon initial reading. I'm surprised there isn't too many people attempting to come on-line if the hotel accomodates on-line capabilities.

Charlene: I'm sitting here listening to American Top-40: The Eighties. It's hosted by Casey Kasem. It is on the radio station, WMMX, 107.7 FM in Dayton. They're at #22, a single by INXS. The group is pronounced In-X-S...probably a spoof of the '80s decade of "excess". Everyone tended to have an excess of hair; and, glamour was the primary goal for most women because of DYNASTY.

Good Morning from Nashville!

We left Thursday morning for Memphis and as Pepe said arrived about 6 in the evening.  Terrible traffic just trying to get through Dallas.  In fact, Skip felt so tired and the freeway was moving so slowly, we actually got out of the car in the middle of traffic and traded seats so I could drive!!

We had a great time visiting Graceland yesterday.  I had been once before but Skip, JoAnn and Jennie had not seen it.  I remembered some of the rooms;  the room with fabric all over it and the jungle room.  We enjoyed seeing some of Elvis's cars in the car museum, too.

About 2 in the afternoon, we left Memphis for Nashville and arrived about 7 pm last night.  We checked in to the Hyatt which is right across the street from the Opry land complex and decided not to go out again because we were all tired.  We did play Skip-Bo in the lobby for a while.

Today is Nashville day.  We will visit the Country Music Hall of Fame, possibly the Ryman theater;  maybe the Opry Mills Mall, Gaylord arboretum, and other points of interest.  Tonight we have tickets for the Grand Ole Opry and will see Loretta Lynn and others perform.

Another night at the Hyatt and tomorrow morning we will leave for Knoxville and for our Clay Day!! 

We are having a great time.  It is hot, but the things we are seeing are not outside so the heat hasn't been too much of a factor.

I am not going to take the time to read back.   I hope everyone is doing fine and enjoys their weekend.

PRISSY REPORT! 

I talked to Prissy, JoAnn and Jennie yesterday afternoon but could not give a progress report as my computer was taken apart as hubby and son was moving it.  Prissy could only say it was hot,  hot in Memphis and very crowded at Elvis's house.  I think they enjoyed seeing the grounds more than the house.  They were headed toward Nashville as I was talking to them.  I do wish the weather would turn cooler but like Prissy said at least the concert in Knoxville will be inside.  Prissy seemed tired but I think that was from the extreme heat they were in.  They were going to try and stop early and rest and get a good nights sleep last night.   Tonight they will be at the Grand Ole Oprey! 


ANGELA, so very sorry to hear about your father and hope he feels better soon.

LINDA, have been busy getting ready for the little one.  My son and grandson were here all day yesterday putting in a new dishwasher for me and setting up a new computer desk and than this morning they came to pick up hubby to go to a boat show in the upper penn. of Michigan, a 3 1/2 hour drive one way to look at a bunch of wood boats!!!  :lol  So I have a day a lone and have lots to do, one thing is to watch Jayne's DVD she sent me for the second time and this time I will blast it.  :bouncy

Pepe, thanks again for the Prissy report!  That sounds funny; kind of like we are following a real celebrity. :wink  I had heard that Elvis' home was small.  I was surprised, but I am sure it would be so much fun to see it and try to imagine him and Priscilla roaming around there.  Elvis was quite the character!!  I saw him in Vegas, but he wasn't at his best at the time.  To me, he will always be the king of rock and roll though.   Oh, yeah, I forgot about the wash machine and computer desk.  You did tell us that this past week.  How nice.   Well, enjoy your peace and quiet.  I mean the blasting of the DVD!   :lol

AC, believe or not, the three of us don't even indulge in those kind of liquids hardly at all anymore.   I'll tell you, we share have gone backwards.  We still laugh alot even without it.  I don't want to burn my insides out, so it will probably be gingerale next week.   We will enjoy the outdoors by the water and go to some quaint little shops; things like that.   There is a beautiful crossway over the ocean that I want to walk with them if the weather is good.  See, we are acting like real ladies!! :wink  No more AA for us!

Sasha, I love the back shot of our Clay!  I never saw that one.   Yes, a vacation for you and Jim now would have been great.  You can plan for it next year and hopefully get a concert in there too.  Of course, if Jim doesn't want to go, you know we can be ready lickity split!  Hope to see you in a couple of months.

Boca, everything is absolutely the same here.  The helper for mom is pretty good.  I still have alot of time that I cover though.  She is very, very tired all of the time.  It's a wait/see thing right now.   I can imagine how upset you are with the way things are going for your daughter.  I would be too.  It's too bad your SIL had to get so nasty now, especially since you did so much for them.  I hope you are feeling better.  All of this stress just keeps bringing you down.  I know because I feel it too. :hugg

Loilta, don't believe a word Jerry says.  I want to know what he really drinks.  He makes us all think he is an angel. :lol  I wish you lived closer so you could join us next week.  Last year you would be like these girls are crazy, this year not so much. :lol   We are trying to grow up.  It's working slowly but sure.   I don't know if I like it yet.  We all live about 45 minutes apart, so we try to get together ever few months if we can.

FINALLY the weather will be DOWN in the 90s, which will feel wonderful, compared to what it has been like.

The only thing I REALLY have to say about the concert is....I am SO very proud, and SO very happy to be a  :clayfan .  There is NO one I would rather be a fan of.  His concerts are SO very entertaining, you never want them to end.  But most of you know that, as you have already seen him on this tour, or will be shortly.

As SO many people have said....it would be GREAT if we could all save our pennies for a year and ALL go to the same one concert.  THAT, my friends, would be awesome.

My hummers have been  having little wars over the feeder.. One keeps chasing another one away.. They have been drinking like crazy lately.. I clean the feeder and change the sugar water every week because it can get mildewed and unhealthy for them..

I don't know if you've seen that up in that part of the country since in New England alcohol is served to everyone but if a person wants soda pop they gotta be 21 or older. That's why everyone up there has gone backwards as you put it :bigsmile

But i'm glad you confessed that there was a time when the flavor of Fungus Fi Fi 1876 swishing across your tongue was the highlight of previous get togethers. Will you try Canada Dry ginger-ale...or Vernor's? There is also Schweppe's ginger-ale. I hope it'll be straight ginger-ale and nothing with a little added bonus for old time's sake.

Prissy: :bigsmile Thanks for the Elvis/Graceland report. I had posted a picture of Graceland in the back pages. Isn't that always the case...a non-fan if they're exposed to an entertainer in a positive way, they usually become a fan of some kind. Here's something strange. My dad is a big Elvis fan. Now, he doesn't have any of his albums or anything but i was raised with Elvis on the albums my dad would "borrow" from relatives. Since i was raised in a pro-Elvis environment, i was stunned when i was in 5th grade and heard some people say bad things about him and mock his performing style. In my mind i thought everyone loved Elvis but i was wrong and the more older i got in body and experience i learned about the pre-rock verses rock antagonism. I found out, too, that Barry Manilow's success in the 1970s angered what critics called "core rock n roll fans" because the sound was soft and 100% opposite rock 'n' roll...and that is why the fans and artists before Elvis hated rock so much because it was so different from the crooning style of singing of Sinatra and his peers.

Lorraine: :wave I listen to Casey mostly because i like hearing him talk :lol :lol The episode of the countdown this morning was from 1988. At #16 was Chubby Checker and The Fat Boys, doing a remake of "The Twist". Casey has often been quoted as saying that countdowns simply play songs that are heard on the radio all the time but he feels the reason his countdown had a large listener audience was because of the additives like the "long distance dedication" and "this week in the charts". On the second feature he'd play a #1 song or a Top-10 hit by someone currently on the chart but from a previous year. He still does that on his current countdown programs. He also does the "teasers" where the countdown would get close to #1 but he'd play a few songs ahead of that as extra's before the eventual reveal of the #1 song. Another feature is the "trivia" segment where he reads a letter from a listener asking a question about songs from the past. Casey recently said that the invention of the internet where people can see the charts before the actual radio countdown airs has diminished the importance of the over-all 'countdown' concept BUT because of the extra's he puts into his show, he says that's the key to his longevity on countdown programs since 1970.

Casey's involvement in the Robin voice started in 1967 and when SUPERFRIENDS came along in 1974, he reprised his role and continued with it until the last ABC-TV cartoon of the SUPERFRIENDS aired, "Galactic Guardians" in 1985-1986...

Lorraine: :no Nope...no way! I will remain a fan of Casey's...a long, long time ago back in 1987 i was watching CHEERS with my family on Thursday nights. There was this blonde woman on there...and the main waitress, Carla, didn't like her. As the show played out, the woman was the current wife of Nick, Carla's ex-husband on the show. Well, the woman playing Nick's wife was Jean Kasem...she is NOT the mother of Kerri. Jean and Casey only have one child together. Anyway, Kerri's just Casey's daughter in my big wide open eyes...hottie or not.

The cell-cert started at 9pm tonight...i was perhaps thinking that nobody had shown up because the 8-9pm hour there was nothing being said over there. I was lurking for a few minutes before i stopped in here...i'll soon be heading off for the night.

Hello! I am trying to sit in on the cell cert a little - not dialing in, though. We went to Dollywood this afternoon (Lewis was as happy as  I would have been if I had been to a theme park that Clay owned  :lol ). We called the hotel here in Knoxville, and were able to get our room a day early, so we are ready for the concert (A word of warning - if you even go to Dollywood,  DO NOT stay over there - the traffic is worse than Branson!) Knoxville is about 30 miles away, but worth the drive! 

Hope veryone is well - no time to read back - time for a bath - we are going to scout out the theatre, preparty place, and parking garage in the morning. Lorriane - if I see buses downtown near the theatre, I will let you know!  :lol :bouncy :wink

Just a quick check in.  I am in the lobby with Lindsay.  She is waiting for Michelle to pick her up, as she has to go home today. I am exhausted, but will take a shower and wait for our ride on to Knoxville.  It is raining, but let it rain....tonight is an indoor venue.   :clap

Then back home to reality tomorrow night.

Hope you are all doing well.  I don't know when I will have access to a computer again.  I may beg Frankie.   :lol

Clay is just wonderful.  We stood in the line to "touch" his hand last night.  I don't know of ANY other performer that does that.  The concert was funny.  Angela had a bug go down her shirt and had to leave the stage to get it out.  It was very funny.  I met someone who was at her first Clay concert, and 2 ladies from New Zealand who are here for 8 concerts.  I am proud to be a member of the ClayNation, because it is growing every day.

And even prouder to be a member of Claymaniacs and the OCD.   :lol :ghug2

Good Morning,

We are still in Nashville, but will be heading for Knoxville this morning.  Skip wants to go to Gatlinburg, too, so we will do that first, then on to Knoxville.

Yesterday was a full day.  We went to the Country Music Hall of Fame;  had lunch at Applebee's, shopped at the Opry Shop;  then to the Apple Barn Store at Orpy Mills Mall where we had the best apple pie and ice cream.  We then went through the Gaylord Opry Hotel/ Convention Center which has a beautiful arboretum type area.

We returned to the hotel to rest a bit;  grabbed a hamburger and then went over to the Grand Ole Opry for a wonderful performance by several country singers including Loretta Lynn, Porter Wagoner, and Little Jimmy Dickens.

I am keeping everyone on the run!!  After all, I am the Travel Agent for the group!! :lol

Today is our Clay Day once we get to Knoxville.  I'm looking forward to seeing some Claymaniacs and enjoying a wonderful preparty and concert with the Clayman!!

Good Morning!

Woody - I am surprised it is raining in Ashville - it is right across the mountains from Knoxville, and the sun is shining here.

We are going to get dressed, have breakfast, then go check out the theatre, preparty site, and the theatre parking. We are almost 6 miles from the theatre. I usually try to stay within walking distance of a venue if at all possible, but I decided to come to this concert late, and wanted to stay here because so many others already had rooms here. Many  of you have my cell number - the hotel is packed with ball teams - if there is no early check in, you can use our room until your room is available - the preparty starts at 3 - same time as check in. If you don't have my cell, we are in room 174 - come see us if you are stranded in the lobby!!!!!

I forgot to say that we went to some country music shows at Dollywood yesterday - including one by Brian White. I have always loved Clay's version of his song "Someone Else's Star" on  AI2. I tried the new camera at those concerts  - took great pictures with no flash - just hope cameras are allowed tonight.

Still haven't read back - good thing Woody says we don't have to!  :lol

    As you see, I'm back to my own space!  I found a hotel computer, so while the rest of the gang is eating breakfast, I'm sneaking on here.
   Loretta Lynn was good, but I liked a new comer that preformed a Patsy Cline song. She was perfect.  I have even purchased by first country CD.  I bought Billy a  Ray Cyrus  CD.
   I can't wait to see everyone this afternoon and tonight!  I panicked last night because my camera was acting up.  I just had it on the wrong setting thank goodness.  I'm hoping to get some good shots tonight  because I am on row C.  I was lucky with this concert ticket!

Sounds like the Claytrekking is a blast....do wish we could have come...hopefully, next tour Kirk and I will be there!

Had an end of the summer back to school cookout last night.  Kyle even came :bouncy :bouncy :bouncy    Kirk thought he wouldn't, but in my heart I knew he would!  Had about 25 people and had a blast....Kirk and I made bacon, egg pasta salad(great recipe if anyone wants PM me), potato salad, pistachio salad, burgers and chicken on the grill, baked beans and neighbor brought strawberry shortcake and a watermelon bowl of fruits....swam.  Party ended with Kirk, myself, Katie her b/f and Kilene and her bf...We played Catch Phrase.  Katie to bed and bf to home so the four of us talked until 3:00  :wow   this morning!!!

Anyhow, Laura stayed with Kyle last night, so will be hooking up with him to pick her up....

If any of you traveling are still reading - if you go through Severville to get here (and we could not find a way to by-pass it getting over the mountains)- expect bumper tp bumper traffic - it took us over an hour to go a few miles - only one way to get in and out of the Dollywood mess! We were told a second highway will be ready next year, but right now it is awful!

         How are you? Have you finished the packing yet? The wedding was lovely. The bride is an Europeon fashion model and she is gorgeous.
     
   The groom is a friend of my daughters. The reception was a mixture of American and Europeon traditions.=====Very interesting and pretty.

   Next year we will have to save our pennies and do the Raleigh tour, it sounds like lots of fun.  Have a great day with family and babies.
