People anchor in the bay and listen to the shows. It's about 72 degrees and a light breeze off the ocean...very beautiful day in San Diego.
The orchestra is on stage, but no Jesse yet, and no singers yet.... Clay is supposed to go to some kind of VIP reception after the show, so they don't know if there will be a bus line yet. The orchestra is all in white, and there is free champagne at the tables... The demo looks like a typical Clay crowd, some guys, lots of women, the grounds are full, but the risers at the very back of the venue are not. (See photo linked above.) The clack policy is quite restrictive, but they are hopeful. He probably won't go into the audience - the stage is about 4 feet high and there are no steps.... Stage lights are on.... So, for those reviewers who only stay for the first three songs, they are fortunate to hear a trio of virtuous ballads which showcase Clay's voice. However, if they do not stay for the remainder of the show, they miss so much. The medleys, the banter, the on stage interaction between Clay and Jesse, Quiana and Angela, the dancing, the jokes, the improv, the beautiful rendition of "Lover All Alone," the props to the orchestra and the local arts, and the beautiful fan tribute that closes the show. Among other things. Back when he was growing up there were so many tv theme songs. 3 hour tour...songs get stuck in his head. Talking about auditioning for AI and he got cut...and someone else beat him. (must have looked at Quiana) Everyone was singing and he wanted them to shut up so he could sleep. He keeps talking to some "young man" and giving him advice about how parents are smart, etc.

When we were putting the last album together my executive producer...forced me to write a song. I don't consider myself a songwriter, I'm just a singer. I'm going through puberty right now. Her brother, on the other hand, one of the most prolific songwriters ever. She suggested that he write a song and give it to me and see what happens. He said, "OK" and sat down at the piano and five minutes later he has a whole song written. I took the cd home and believe it or not it only took me five minutes...and seven months to write the lyrics to this. My opinion on the TV themes. I enjoy it. Think it's fun and differant. Watched all those TV shows but Welcome Back Kotter and West Wing. I'm happy for those fans from Japen who are getting to see Clay for the 1st time. He should tour overseas someday. Mimi and Barbara-Thanks for the weather report for Raleigh next week. Rather it be hot then it raining cause the last two times I saw Clay outdoors it poured down rain. Frankie-Love your title for the cellcert thread. Congrats! :clap If no one knows, Our Bozena got a Meet and Greet for the West Palm Beach, FL concert. So happy for her. :bouncy See you tomorrow from Pala. Krista - I enjoyed reading why you like the T.V. themes - that is what makes the ClayNation - all different opinions, but the same opinion when it counts - we all love His Clayness! As I said last night, if I could dislike anything he sings, it would be the T.V. Themes - good Thing he doesn't even have to sing to make me happy - I could just listen to him talk, and that would be enough (or he could just stand there!)
