SESSION 118 OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS!!!

Here is how we started:

Welcome, everyone to the very first meeting of the "OCD Support Group". (Obsessive Clay Disorder)

I am shy, so I walk slowly into the room and find a seat in the back. The meeting begins and there is a room full of claymaniacs. It is very quiet. I raise my hand very slowly. Pamela notices and asks, " Do you have something to share?" My knees are shaking, but I am able to finally get the words out.
"Hi. My name is Woodstock. And I suffer from OCD." The room erupts with applause. I hear so many things around me..."Welcome, Woodstock, what a great step to admit that!" "I do, too..." "We're all with you..." And I knew immediately that I have come to the right place.

We all talk about it, and joke about it, but this can be a serious subject,too. I love Clay, but quite honestly, I have worried about why I spend SO much time listening to him, downloading everything..talking about him on-line , taping EVERY TV show . And more than anything, simply thinking about him night and day. He enters my thoughts in the middle of just about everything! What is going on???
I am a 50-year-old (yikes) wife and mother of three children aged 18, 21 and 23. I have a career and am involved in many things. Then somehow, Clay has entered the picture and I fear he has taken over more of my life than I care to admit.

I realized awhile back that I suffered from OCD. But it was hard to admit to anyone. My 18-year-old son kept telling me that I was obsessed, and after awhile, I began to think he was right. And I spent night and day wondering what was wrong with me. Why are my thoughts going to Clay in the middle of a a school lesson or a church sermon? Why can't I wait to get home and turn on a Clay CD or check out claymaniacs.com to get new info on Clay? If Clay was going to be on a TV station that I didn't get, I HAD to find someone to tape it for me. I was beginning to think I was losing my mind. REALLY!!!

Then I found claymaniacs. It has been wonderful for me to talk to you. The more I got to know you guys, the more I was able to let it all hang out. And what did I learn? I'm NOT the only one. There is something about this guy that grabs you and wraps around your heart, and you're hooked. You are NOT going crazy, I have come to learn after talking to so many of you. I get pms and e-mails from people after I have posted something I couldn't admit anywhere else, and I realize I'm not alone! And it has been a great comfort to me. It took a little while, but I now know that I'm OK. And I feel much better. Now, I am enjoying Clay SO MUCH MORE, because I am not worrying about myself.

Let me make this perfectly clear: I am not over my OCD! I still think about Clay all the time (24/7?) and listen to him sing(OMG) constantly, and download, and chat about him. But I no longer worry that there is something wrong with me. I know I am not alone. There is something so very special about this man. He is the whole package. Because I was able to feel better after admitting things to you guys here, I decided that this is a thread that is needed here. Here is your place to vent. Admit your feelings, or confess something that you have thought or done. It is our hope that by doing that, you will find out that it's OK and you will stop worrying about yourself, and now be able to enjoy Clay even more. I hope this is a place everyone can come back to as needed.

Rules, rules, rules.... Everyone must promise to be kind, respectful, non-judgemental, and supportive. (Easy for claymaniacs.) Again, this is your place to get something off your chest, or just admit your OCD and accept it. So, let the discussions begin!
Just for fun, if you join in the conversation, you then become an official charter member of the OCD Support Group, and can add that to your signature if you wish. I look forward to each and every one of your posts.

That was the beginning of Session 1.

And now on to Session 118.  WHO WOULD EVER HAVE THOUGHT??? We are moving along. I am SO happy so many of you have stayed around for the long haul, and welcome each and every new friend here. I say WOW!!!!! Good times with good friends. That is what this is all about.

I am no longer including a detailed description of our Therapy Center (just pretend, for those of you that are new.) I will just say that we meet in a Cyber Cottage on a Street With No Name. We have to continue the THUD room, as it is such an important part of our therapy. So please feel free to frequent it as needed. For more details, please read a past thread.(Located in the Archives.) And Pepe did ask for a Cybermaid to come in once a month. These girls have always been high maintenance, but worth it.

As for the rules, these are to keep the place somewhere we all are proud to come to:
I will repeat the rules, because we now have 6!!! At the request of Bocaqueen, we have added #6:
YOU MUST BE: 1. kind 2. respectful 3. non-judgmental 4. supportive
AND 5. YOU MUST NEVER SAY THE "s" word. (sorry). No need to apologize for thoughts and feelings. 6. No dieting when at OCD meetings. Period.

And I am going to take it upon myself to add a suggestion (one that many people make to me), but not make it a rule. It is your choice as your time allows. But I am going to say that if you don't have time PLEASE DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO KETCHUP !!! Jump in and say hi, tell us what is up in your Clay world, and have good conversation. Yes, you may miss someone's post, but we never want being here to be so time-consuming that it causes frustration, family problems, or a cause to drive you away. We never want ANYONE to feel they need to address each person. It is simply impossible and no one expects it anymore. If some people choose to do that, it is their choice, but simply not expected. We have grown so big, and happily so!!! So, let's just jump in, read one page behind, and enjoy the conversation. Not a rule!!!! Just something that has been suggested to me many times...

And our OCD pact: No hard feelings if someone doesn't mention you in their post. We are getting far too big for that to ever be a reality again, but we are blessed by many new friends. We are a happy group here. And we intend to keep it that way.

Every now and then someone pms with me a concern, idea, or observation. I appreciate and take to heart each and every pm. I feel we are all equal in this thread, equal partners, but because I started this thread some people come to me, and I am happy to help if I can. Recently, someone came to me asking me to remind everyone that we are a PG thread, we are "family friendly", as Clay would see it, and we do welcome in friends of all ages. If the spirit moves you, and you feel your comments may not be within PG, claymaniacs does have threads for this.  There is the Black Leather Pants thread and the Motor City Red Thong Mafia thread in Current Community Central, and the Adult Playground forum in Communities. Thank you for understanding this. I do not think we have crossed the line, in my opinion, but it does not hurt to bring this subject up as one of concern to some OCDers.

This has come up again. People want to have fun here, and we do, don't we??? Let it continue, but we welcome friends of all ages, so let us keep it PG.

WANT TO TELL YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART HOW SPECIAL CLAYMANIACS IS TO ME, BUT MOST ESPECIALLY OUR FAMILY HERE ON THE OCD   .  I HAVE ALWAYS FELT THAT THE OCD IS LIKE A VERY BIG ROUND TABLE  THAT WE ALL ARE  SITTING AT  ; LAUGHING, SHARING OUR RL STORIES OF HAPPY & SAD, SUPPORTING ONE ANOTHER THRU  TOUGH TIMES AND BOTTOM LINE JUST BEING A FAMILY OF CARING FOR EACH OTHER.

Here is a toast to all of you that we may be here for 100 more sessions.  We stick together thru sickness, trouble, happiness and we are always here to pick each other up and put a smile on your face.  I talk to more of my OCD family than I do my own blood relatives.  You are so important to me and are a main part of my life.  I have never received so many cards or gifts before and every day is exciting to see what you are all doing and who needs comforting and who needs feeding.  My heart is full of love for each of you !

Happy 100 Everyone!

Sometimes when I think about coming to Claymaniacs and finding the OCD, it's hard for me to believe that it's been over 2 years since I first started coming here.  Like many of you, I was one of those people who wasn't sure about the feelings I had about how much I enjoyed Clay's music and how I wanted to know so much about him and how I couldn't wait to see him on another show.  I felt like it was an "obsession" and that word doesn't normally have a good connotation.  When I found the OCD and realized that there were many other people with the same "condition" I was so relieved.  I felt welcome here from the very beginning.  I lurked for awhile and then I started PMing with Clandy as we were getting ready for the big North Carolina concert weekend and she convinced me to start posting more.  What a great decision that was!

I have been lucky enough to meet most of the people that post at the OCD.  I have made many, many friends here and was lucky enough to meet one of my best friends here.  It may have been Clay that initially brought us together, but that's not why we stay.  We stay for each other.

PRAYER LIST

Welcome to The OCD's/Claymaniac's Prayer List. Many of our OCD/Claymaniac members have expressed a desire to share our Love, Care and Concern for each other through the Love and Faith we share in Our Lord. This has resulted in starting a Prayer List that includes the names of our members that have requested to be prayed for and therefore, reflects the needs or petitions of/for the individual.

We will divide this list into three areas for prayers.  The first will be for a general/daily prayer, next is for Urgent/"SOS's" to God as emergencies arise, and last is for circumstances that we are aware of or that the individual has they, themselves requested.

We are doing this away from the main pages as not to offend anyone who is not of likemindedness. We ask that as we respect your decision not to join us in Prayer, that you accept our need, as believers, to minister to each other in this fashion.

We do, however, invite you to read our list, and if you would like to, just take the time to think good thoughts and well wishes for those who are suffering or in need.

I hope you all bear with me in overseeing this list. If you find I have not included someone., it is either because they requested not to be included or that I am not sure where you stand on this issue. If you would like to be added to the list, please PM me with your request. If I have added you in error, my apologies and please notify me thru PM asap.

Everyone who has requested to be part of this group will be listed daily. If there is nothing beside your name, it is either I am not sure if something that you told me was announced publicly or privately to me and therefore for privacy issues, I would not take the chance to include it. Know that if it is not there and I am aware of it, as any of you may know things about one another that we ALL are not privy to....please remember to include those in your private prayers. ------------------------------------------------------------

CLAY AIKEN: Most merciful Father...our prayers are for Your obedient steward, Clay.  Lord, Clay does Your work utilizing his beautiful voice for Your praise and glory and the benefit of children and all people..we ask that you guide him to where he can best share Your love and aid those without a voice.  Thank you for this young messenger you've sent to us who exemplifies doing Your will and sharing Your word.  We pray for Clay's protection...please keep him safe on whatever path he may be at the moment.  Keep Clay strong for the journey ahead.  Let his good deeds shine forth and forever change the lives of the less fortunate who have been victims of horrendous hardship.

Father, Clay is going through difficult and personal issues....meanspirited people are constantly attacking this wonderful young man.  We ask that You give him the strength to get through these vicious attacks and let him continue getting through these hurtful times with grace, dignity and a continued faith that You are always by his side carrying him through.
Also, we ask that You watch over Clay's brother, Brett, who is serving in the military. Please, keep their Mother, Faye Parker strong, in the midst of such worry for both of her beloved sons. Father, grant us, these, our urgent requests.



Alli_Aiken/Alli: Father of Mercy, we come to You over and over, always asking something of You.  In Your Love and Mercy, You listened to the prayers of Your faithful.  Our young, sweet friend Alli had been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease but is now, thankfully in remission.  We knew that medically, this is one of the most curable of Cancers.  However, we had knowledge beyond that of the medical type...we had knowledge of You....the Master Physician and Healer.  We knew that You would be carrying Alli through every step of her healing.  We ask You continue to lay Your healing hands upon this wonderful young lady. Thank You O Merciful Lord.

ClayDevotee/Thea: Father Almighty, Father of Mercy....You have nothing but love and concern for Your children.  Our dear friend, Thea, has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and had been undergoing daily treatments until recently.  The treatments have now stopped.  The Dr's have advanced so far in helping people diagnosed with this dreadful disease, however, we know that You are the answer to everything.  We ask You once again, to lay your healing hands on Thea and cure her of any disease that may have been invading her body.  Give her strength and courage  along with even a deeper faith at this most trying time.  We are here Father to aid our friend along the way...use us to do Your will and minister to one another.

Claymaniac2000/Janet:  Dearest Lord...We come to you with great concern about our friend Janet.  Janet has been suffering with back pain and Shingles for awhile now, however, today, she could not feel her legs and was taken to the ER.  Please, we ask that there be nothing serious happening and that she will soon be home and back to normal.  As for her aches and pains that she has had, we pray that You heal her and restore her to a pain free life.  Thank You for always hearing our petitions.

LadyC/Kris: Heavenly Father, we ask and ask of You. This time we come to you on behalf of our friend Kris.  Kris has had to face many trials in this lifetime......we ask that You look upon our friend with mercy, and heal her from all afflictions and ease her many burdens.  Lord, we know that You are merciful and kind and that You will hear the plea of Your faithful.  Thank You for the grace You bestow upon us.

Pamela:  Father of Love and Mercy, we come to you on behalf of a very special friend and her mother.  At this moment, Pamela's mother is in a hospital in Tenn. with breathing problems and blood pressure issues.  We ask that you watch over her and heal her of any medical  problems.  May you give her strength and courage to get through this difficult time.  We also ask that You help Pamela though this frightening situation and gently remind her that You are there to handle all of the burden and to be leaned upon always. Thank You Lord, for always being our strength and comfort.

Wordsmith1223/Lynn: Father, orchestrator of all things, we came to You in prayer and implored You to lay Your healing hands on Charlie and restore him to perfect health. You heard us and have taken the Life-Threatening threat away from this young man.  The news looks positive, however Charlie is suffering with eye issues and he will need a Cornea Replacement in the aftermath of his illness.  We ask that there will be no permanent damage, and we are confident knowing You will heal him.   Father, You are the Master Physician and we place all faith in You and thanking You always for allowing us to come to You with these our prayers.

CLAYMANIAC FRIEND'S: 


ACCOUNTRYFAN/JERRY :Father, we are very concerned with our friend Jerry's High Blood Pressure.  Please, help him to get this under control and be aware of the things that cause this problem. Also, we ask You to help him to face new experiences without anxiety. Thank you for the friendship he brings to us.

AIKENISMYIDOL/MONICA : Loving Father, Give Monica direction, courage and the ability to use all the many talents she possesses. We ask that You grant our young friend good health and happiness always.

alli_aiken/Alli:Dearest Father, Our young friend is carrying around a heavy heart....she is finding college difficult even though she graduated at the top of her High School Class.  Change is difficult for anyone, but, it is especially hard on someone at this age.  Alli also has a financial burdens.  These burdens are part of the depression she is experiencing.  Also, she feels lonely.  We ask that You comfort her, give her strength and guide her to where she needs to be in her life.  Lord, we are all here for our friend, but,  please, put her together with some wonderful people her age that she may enjoy this special time of her life.

ANGELA : Our friend Angela has been at her job for many years and is in danger of losing it...please grant her peace of mind that all things will work out for the best in whatever direction You may lead her. Also, Angela's Dad had a seizure in the recent past and there is constant concern for him because of this and other health issues.  We once again ask you to hear the prayers of so many that care, and watch over this loving father and husband. 

BOCAQUEEN/SUSAN : Lord, Please remember Susan's Mother who has suffered for 8 years with a dibiliating cough and who also has a Brain Anuerysm. Both of Susan's sons have very high blood pressure and we pray that there is no danger to them from reprecussions of this pressure. We also ask for Little Stephanie who has Hydrochephalis and numerous other health issues. Lord of Mercy, we know that Stephanie's battles are far from over but we come to You, the Master Physician, asking to please, heal this child of all her many afflictions and give strength and comfort to those who love and care for her. Also, we pray for healing for Susan's little cousin Angela who has severe Autism. We also ask that You heal our friend Susan from the symptoms she is suffering with from her Graves Disease and Severe Hyperthyroidism.

BOZENA : Please Father, continue to give healing to her ankle that has had many surgeries. May Bozena have success with weightloss as it is important towards getting her Diabetes under control. Lord, please bless our wonderful caring friend for her good works...she is a testament to Your way.
 

Clays_Buddy/Liz.... Loving Father, our dear friend Liz has lost her battle with her illness, ALS, but has now gained everlasting peace.  She meant so very much to us, and has touched all of our lives.  We now pray for her family: for Eric, her dear husband that couragiously faced this illness with Liz and was there for her all the way.  For her son, Blake, we pray that he will carry his mother's loving memories his whole life, and remember all the wonderful things she taught him raising this fine son.  And we pray for Liz's Mom, Lauretta, and the rest of her family as they deal with their terrible grief.  May memories and knowing she is now in your loving hands bring comfort to them all.


claysjoy/Kris :Most gracious and understanding Father, we know you hear each and every prayer...we come to You and ask You to have mercy and grant another request....our friend Kris is having her patience tried and is suffering within and needs your help to cope. Please, we ask that You embrace her with Your presence and calm her. Bring peace and serenity into her life , that she is in such need of. Thanks be to You O Lord.

CL4CLAY/EVELYN : Lord,  Our beloved friend  Evelyn has Hyperthyroidism and is suffering from many of it's symptoms , but is most worried about the Double Vision it is causing. Please Father, we ask that You stabilize Evelyn's condition and take away this  trouble with her eyes as it is also dangerous for her to get around. May you look upon our special friend with favor and bless her with all that makes for a good life...health, happiness and love.

claydevotee/Thea : Father,  please shower Thea and her loved ones with all of Your wondrous blessings.

CLAYFAN4LYF88/KIMMY :Lord, Our young friend is suffering with depression.  Please, lift Kimmy's spirits and take away all the pain she is going through. 

Claymaniac113078/Cindy: Father of Love and protector of all, we humbly beseech You to surround Cindy and her family with Your light, keeping all evil away and letting no harm befall this precious family. Burdens were many and we prayed that You would lift and ease the heartache.....and You did.  Loving Lord, we knew there would be only one set of footprints, and there were, for You  carried them through this trial and gave Cindy and her family strength and comfort. Thanks be to You O Lord. Please, bless Cindy and her loved ones with, health, happiness and lots of love.  We give thanks and praise for Your bringing an end to the turmoil that had been faced by this wonderful family.

CLAYMANIAC2000/JANET : Merciful Lord, we ask for healing for Janet's back pain and health issues.  May You watch over Janet as she lives alone and we worry about our friend.

CTlovesCLAY/LINDA :Lord of Mercy, dear Linda is suffering with many health issues and her eyes are of particular concern.   Please, heal her of all these woes. Father, please give Strength and comfort to our friend as she also cares for her Mother and Mother-in-law. It is most difficult and exhausting being a caretaker, but such a pure and selfless act.  Also, we ask for healing FOR both these women who are ill. We ask that you bless Linda with nothing less than health, happiness and lots of love.

DUDLEY5 : Heal our friend from her cancer Lord, for You are the Master Physician with whom all things are possible. Thank you dear God for bringing Dudley safely out of her surgeries and we ask that you give her strength, comfort and hope to believe that she will *~*SoOoN!!*~* be through with all this heartache and fear.
Also, prayers are being sent up for her beloved son who is a Pilot...Lord, You surely know the nature of what he is in urgent need of.  Please, watch over him , keeping him safe from all harm and give his family strength and comfort during this difficult time.

fhmmany :Bless our friend dearest Father, and protect this lovely person , her husband Lewis and all her loved ones, from any ill. May happiness always surround Frankie and her beloved family.
Grant peace, prosperity, and especially good health to this generous, warmhearted and caring lady. May You heal her granddaughter Laney, from all her ear problems.

FLAKENFORAIKENINFL : Lift our dear friend's spirits as she struggles with personal issues. O most merciful Lord, please help our friend with the heavy burden she is carrying at her job, this is the time she would need to see just "one" set of footprints.....please Father...Carry her through this. Lord...we also ask that you watch over  her husband Roy, her daughter's and parents as well .

forever_clay/Amanda :Please, most merciful Father, guide Amanda, Your precious Child, to a place that will make her happy and whole. Let her realize she has many who care and are concerned for her and her wellbeing. Give Amanda Hope, Comfort and craddle her in Your Loving arms. May whatever is missing or difficult in her relationships at home be healed and replaced with unconditional love and acceptance.

Geraldine/Charlene:  Father in Heaven, we come to you on behalf of our sweet friend Charlene and her family.  We ask that You watch over them always keeping them safe from harm and all evil.  We especially are worried about Charlene's son who is suffering severe depression.  Lord, You alone can lift this mans spirits and help him through these trying times.  Heal him and bring sunshine, laughter and love back into his life.  May this family be filled with Your Spirit and turn to You for all their needs.  We thank You for hearing all of our prayers . We know that You answer them in Your own time and in Your own way, knowing what is best for us.

GLORY/DIANE :Lord, we worry so about our special friend.  She struggles in many areas of her life, and we ask that You intervene and ease her burdens.  Keep Glory healthy and provide her with all that is necessary for her to get through these trying times. We also thank You for bringing Diane's son and family back to the States safely where they can be together with their loving Mother. Tim is a missionary who has lived his life doing your will Father and spreading Your word  and now he, his wife and their new baby girl have relocated back here to the States.  Tim has not found a place, as of yet, to continue doing Your work.... Please direct this family where they can best serve You O' Lord. 

GRAMMAof6/BARB Father, we thank You for the Protection You gave to Barb's son-in-law who was overseas in the military and that You bought him safely home. We are ever so grateful to her family for their sacrifice as he was away to protect all of us and our country. May You grant Barbara and her family peace, health and happiness.

Havinaclayaffair/Lora :  Father, thank You for sending us this special friend.  May she and her family be blessed with all the good things life has to offer...for it is through You that they come. We ask that You surround Lora with Your Love and Light , protecting her from all evil.

Heater/Heather :Lord, our friend Heather has been trying so hard to lose weight ,like so many of us, please give her the perserverence and strength to follow through and keep to a regimen. Also, at this moment Heather is dealing with a lot of stress at work.  This should be a temporary issue, but prayers always ease everyones burdens and so we come to You on behalf of our sweet friend.

HER/JAYNE :.Dearest Lord, we prayed to You asking for our dear friend Jayne to be in a position where she would find happiness and strength and Lo and Behold You have once again answered our prayers. Father, in all Your mercy You brought a wonderful man, by the name of Kirk, into Jayne's life. Kirk has given Jayne love abounding and treats her with kindness and respect, and all things that were missing in her life for so long.  Soon, the Two shall become One, and we ask that You continue to bless this union. Our prayers are also continuous for Jayne's Dad and healing from his cancer and his knee replacement. Jayne's younger brother also has had health issues and our prayers are with him as well. Thanks be to You o Lord!

Most merciful and loving Father, You have answered our prayers yet again by blessing Colleen and Scott with beautiful twin girls. Abby and Annie have bought such joy and happiness to this family. However Father, as You know, little Annie had been suffering from Seizures and possibly has developmental issues......Please, we ask You to heal this precious little girl. Father, we also ask that You Heal Colleen's brother who is paralyzed on one side and give strength to his family as they care for him.  It is most difficult being a caretaker and dealing with the heartache as well. Bless this family and provide them with strength and courage.

ILCLAYMATE/ANGELA :  Bless Our friend Angela for all the joy she brings to us each day. Carpal Tunnel is another issue that causes much pain and difficulty for our dear friend. Please, lay Your healing hands upon this wonderful woman and restore her to the best health possible.  Also, we ask that You keep our friend safe from all ill and enrich her life with all that would bring her happiness.

PHILLYLUVSCLAY :Most merciful Lord....Please heal the stomach problems that our special friend is suffering with. Father, Our friend  has gone  thru a trying time in her life in the recent past...please, continue to bring her peace and comfort from the pain of the memories of how her family has sufferend beyond the trials of most. So what's everyone doing today???

Older son said we could come hang out at his house if we like.  I have some chicken breasts thawed, so maybe we will.  But it is supposed to rain and thunderstorm in the afternoon.  He said he is working on some cars for friends and has to get them done.

Our neighbor's daughter graduated from high school today.  They are having a big bash today; they were setting up all day yesterday.  These are the neighbor's from h*ll, so of course we were not invited, and didn't expect to be.  The girl and her dad (the crazy one) are in a drum and bagpipe band and when she graduated from grade school, they all came to the party and they played their bagpipes.  Our neighbors are both drummers.  Anyway, bagpipes up close are VERY loud.  So maybe we would be better off going to my son's. I wonder what they are going to do when it rains, as they are all set up outside, and it looks like they are expecting a huge crowd.   :lol :lol :lol :naughty See, I'm not that nice, after all.   :naughty

Anyway...whatever you decide to do, have a wonderful day and a safe one.

Hello Frankie, Jayne, Woodstock, Tammy, and the rest...i'm going to go the fuel mart...it should be open. I am never really sure of what places are open and what places are closed on holiday's. I'll be back after 7 this morning...

There won't be any cook-out's or anything here...so i'm going to try and eat out somewhere if there's anyplace open. I don't feel like just sitting at home doing nothing. I slept for almost 6 hours last night...it's a no-no but i had nothing better to do. I'll be staying up all night tonight so i'll be sleeping again this afternoon/evening since i go back to work tomorrow night.

Frankie: Who will be driving? If Lewis is anything like me, everytime i listen to any song that has a "big ballad" feel to it, i start speeding. That's why i don't listen to Manilow while i'm driving. My motto is "Don't Sing and Drive" it could be just as hazardous. :lol :lol If you notice you're going a bit too fast when Ray's singing "Way Down Yonder in New Orleans" you'll know why :yes

 Tammy: :wave I'll try not to make myself sick. When i went to Wal*Mart this morning the clouds looked not too good...so we'll be getting some rain and other kinds of storms here today. Isolated Thunderstorms with a high of 84 and low of 63. I ran my hand on my face and damn it, i have to shave again later today. Thanks for the commentary and the flag's.

Hello ALL CAPS!! I can't wait to get to Wal*Mart later! I have nothing i have to buy while there...so if Subway isn't busy i'll stop inside and eat something there at a table by the window so i can watch the people as they walk in and out of Wal*Mart's main doors.

Good luck with finding a bench.. I am looking for a reasonable priced swing.. It can either be metal or wood with cushions.. I had a canvas one my sister bought me at Walmarts years back but the canvas got all rotten and wore away..

Tammy, we had a nice time at my brother's.   He owns the two family house he lives in and his son and DIL sold their condo and moved next door a few months ago.   They have two kids now and there wasn't any lawn to really play on where they lived.  I don't know if they will stay there for good, but, anyway, yesterday when we were there, his DIL made the announcement that they want my husband to be godfather to their little girl who was born in January.  We were shocked!  They just think he is a really good role model and would stand by her daughter; she is only 4 months old now, so he might make it until she is at least 10 yrs. old. :lol   It is very understandable for you to have a meltdown.  You have been constantly on the go and cleaning too.

Lorraine,  you will have to tell me more about Catherine's reaction to the swing set.  The grill ignitor doesn't work!  Doesn't that just tick you off.  You think because it's new it should be perfect, right?   I could just hear you now.  Well, enjoy your friend Judy today. 

Evelyn, my husband just gave me your message.  Let's see it's Sunday and 8:47!  Not too bad!  He actually wrote it under another note that I had on the table, so I didn't even see it.   I am glad you had two days off and enjoyed it.

The pizza shop was extremely busy last night and two of our employees had left so we had a new guy delivering who got lost at each delivery. :lol :lol  What a night!! On top of that, we were busy all night. Not complaining  I don't complain when I'm making money.

WELCOME HOME BRETT ! ! !

I'm doing a little bit of work, just sending out press releases so it won't take long, then I'm going to vacuum and dust, then I guess I'll just sit on my balcony and read.  :bouncy Even though it has been in the 80's I've been leaving my back door open and turning the A/C off, it actually hasn't been that bad. I've got an overhead paddle fan on the balcony and it is nice out there. I get the morning sun so by afternoon it is all shade.

Yesterday while walking Moonshot everyone was out at the little grills and picnic tables throughout the apartment complex. It was great to see families out enjoying the sunshine and one another. I'm sure today won't be any different. Me, I'm going to celebrate with some scrambled eggs  :lol The last of my stitches finally came out and it feels weird.

Yesterday I used some money a friend sent to buy some curtains at Target. The morning sun is so BRIGHT in my bedroom. I bought some burgundy ones that I thought would be thick enough. They definitely helped! :bouncy I also finally hung some more paintings in my living room and a few things in my bedroom. I have more I'd like to hang, like a Flamenco poster I got in Spain and an Astronaut Hall of Fame induction poster signed by 4 shuttle astronauts, but I need to get them framed first. Framing is waaaaay expensive so the next time I have a little extra I'll just get some poster frames at walmart so I can at least get them hung up. Then when I have a lot extra saved I'll get them more nicely framed.

I hope everyone is having a great holiday weekend.  We enjoyed the graduation ceremony last evening for my nephew.  And we were very proud of him:  Magna cum laude, Honor Society, Texas Scholar, and top 10% of his class.  He is my youngest sister's youngest.  This nephew's brother graduated from college a couple of weeks ago in Arkansas.

JoAnn and Jennie are on their way over and we are going out to lunch and to a couple of other places.  Skip is out planting in the yard!!  I walked out there to wipe off my pool chairs.  Lots of rain yesterday and last night, too.   So much rain is making it hard for us to get our pool chemicals balanced;  the pool is not looking so good!!  I think it needs a shock and acid possibly.

I will be right over with Skip, and Jennie and JoAnn, too, for supper at 4:00!  It is actually too wet outside for Skip to work in the yard.  He did plant some extra caladium bulbs I had that were starting to  sprout in the bag they were in!!  Have a great day.

 :dunno It's hard to say what the first sit-com was...i remember the LIFE OF RILEY and some of the shows Prissy had mentioned. I mostly know LIFE OF RILEY and OUR MISS BROOKS from their radio versions. I've seen a few TV versions of those programs. DECEMBER BRIDE i know of because of Harry Morgan playing in it, his screen name was Pete...married to a woman named Gladys. I would guess and say OZZIE AND HARRIET was the first sit-com. I don't have my "cheat sheet" with me...i know that TV had been around for awhile but it wasn't a big thing until the early/mid '50s because of I LOVE LUCY and Milton Berle's show. Didn't Milton's MR TELEVISION nick-name come as a direct-result of people running out and buying TV sets like crazy because of his TV show?

Ed Sullivan's program debuted in 1948 on TV...and i know Ed Wynn and Milton Berle were on TV around that time...and Ozzie and Harriet weren't too far behind. Do you remember THE GOLDBERG's? It was on radio as well but was televised in 1949...the star was a woman named Gertrude Berg who i believe also created the show? Anyway, i researched that program and it ran on radio as a comedy-drama, 1929-1946; and then ran on and off throughout 1949-1956 on TV. So THE GOLDBERG's might be the first sitcom on TV but it had elements of drama in it. A lot of historians cite I LOVE LUCY, debuting in 1951, as TV's first sit-com, too :yes So, LIFE OF RILEY and I LOVE LUCY may be the earliest sitcom's on TV. William Bendix did a long series of RILEY programs in front of the camera. Jackie Gleason starred in a short-lived version of the show :yes and it wasn't a hit and so Bendix, who had played the role on radio, agreed to perform the role on camera.

Prissy: What was Betty White in back then. I know she used to make appearances on TO TELL THE TRUTH and I'VE GOT A SECRET as a celebrity panelist but i could never understand what she did back then causing her to be a celebrity. I don't think at the time she was married to Allen Ludden yet...so it couldn't have been her ties to him. I know she had a sitcom in the late '70s with John Hillerman and Georgia Engle...Betty had just ended her run as Sue Ann on THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW and Georgia had been on that show playing Georgette, wife of Ted Baxter. John Hillerman would later become a star on MAGNUM as Higgins. Oh i loved OUR MISS BROOKS! As i was telling Jan, i only know of the radio version pretty much...i liked listening to Eve Arden and Gale Gordon bicker back and fourth. I'll look up Betty's career on the IMDB.

Here's Gale Gordon in "character" as Principal Conklin and Eve as Miss Brooks...the TV show ran 1952-1956 i found out...

"Ohhhhhh....Mister Wilson...." exclaims Dennis the Menace on just about every episode of DENNIS THE MENACE. Although not famous in the role of Mister Wilson as Joseph Kearns was, Gale inherited a spot on the show when Joseph passed away. On the show Joseph had portrayed next door neighor George Wilson...after the actor's death, the show brought in John Wilson, the brother of George...John was portrayed by Gale Gordon and it's on here that i first heard of Gale Gordon...watching the re-runs of DENNIS THE MENACE on Nickelodeon in the mid/late '80s. I know it's strange but i actually paid attention to the closing credits a lot back then and learned who the actors and writers and directors were of the shows i watched.

 Kat: I'm a cartoon nut-case. However, i watch cartoons well before your and my life-time. In a few minutes i'll be watching some BUGS BUNNY cartoons. These cartoons used to air on Saturday mornings on TV and were all originally aired in the 1930's, 1940's, and 1950's in theatre's before the main attraction at the theatre started...so i watch old, classic cartoons :yes Boomerang is the network on TV that airs the cartoons i like watching. I watch them as a collector/fan. I am actually a fan of voice actors...the men and women who provide the voices for cartoon characters...and so i usually watch cartoons that specific voice actors have lent their voices too. It's confusing to explain but i'll try...where as a lot of people go to the movies, for example, to catch a movie because a specific actor or actress is in it, well, i watch cartoons because of the specific voice talent in it. That's the only way i can explain it.

Here's one of the classic cartoons i like...Dick Dastardly and his dog, Muttley, were the stars of DASTARDLY AND MUTTLEY IN THEIR FLYING MACHINES...this is a promo picture i found a few months ago...

The cartoon originally aired in 1969-1970. I have lots and lots more cartoons i like to watch...too numerous to mention...but they're all classic, old, vintage, old-school, retro...whatever word a person wants to put on anything that's not contemporary.

Have you ever heard of the character, DICK TRACY? He was created by Chester Gould in 1931 i think. Anyway, he was a comic strip detective and in the early '60s was turned into a cartoon character...the episodes later surfaced on DVD and i have it in my cartoon DVD collection...

Lorraine, isn't AC too nice to us???  I am glad he is.  I told him he was too young for me, but I liked looking at some sugar.  Now, that's a great avie!!  See, you listened to me this time.   :bouncy  There is nothing wrong with a little change once in awhile.   It's the spice of life that keeps us going.   I think I ran out of that spice, but that's what I hear!!!

Glory, why not be compared to a flower.  I wish there was a flower that had the name Linda in it.   :lol :lol

Our daughter made us waffles with strawberries and whipped cream for a mid morning breakfast.  They were delicious.  I have to be good the rest of the day now.

So, yesterday I took some daisies from my SIL's yard and today hubby and I stopped along side of the road and picked another kind of wild flower.  Of course, we took the roots! :lol   Anyway, I have no idea what this wild flower is.  I just hope it doesn't bring some strange animals now. :lol :lol

Skip and I just returned home from our "trip" with JoAnn and Jennie.  When they first arrived, they had to see the new "huge" TV, then we walked around the backyard some;  at least, as far as the Gazebo.  Still drizzling and rainy today.

We went to Kirkland's where I had 25% off coupons I had printed from the computer.  JoAnn was able to use one and Jennie, also, on some items they found.  Jennie got the best bargain on a lamp;  25% off plus an additional 20% off!  :wheee

We then went to Central Market, which is not just your every day grocery store.  We sampled so many samples, we weren't sure if we would want a late lunch, but we ended up at Chick Fil A and had grilled chicken salads  (and I had coupons for free lemonade with the salads.)  I know;  I'm such a coupon/bargain person!!! :lol

Hello everyone.  Just stopping by.  Catherine and Jamie just left.  What a day.  A good one but again I am exhausted.  I think it is that sun out there that really makes me tired.  thank god I have another day to play. :bouncy :bouncy :bouncy  actually I will be cleaning up this mess.  Jamie is so good though.  He keeps my yard looking very nice and his garden is doing great so far.

GOOD MORNING, ALL- HOPE YOU HAD A LOVELY WEEKEND!!
YESTERDAY MORNING I CLEANED THE WHOLE HOUSE AND WASHED THE CARPET IN MY LIVING ROOM. I WAS HAVING PEOPLE OVER FOR A BBQ AND THEY WERE COMING AT 3:30. i JUST BARELY GOT IN THE SHOWER AT 3:15!! TALK ABOUT CUTTING IT CLOSE!!

MY NEIGHBORS, MY SISTER AND BROTHER, AND A FEW OF CHRISTOPHERS FRIENDS CAME. IT WAS REALLY NICE. HOME-MADE BURGERS ARE THE BEST!! WE HAD CUCUMBER SALAD, REGULAR SALAD, BEANS, AND MACARONI SALAD- ALONG WITH HOT DOGS. THEN FOR DESERT WE HAD SLICES OF POUND CAKE WITH FRESH STRAWBERRIES AND SLOW CHURNED VANILLA ICE CREAM. YUMMY!
MY SON AND HIS FRIEND GOT OUT THE GUITARS AND PLAYED A FEW SONGS FOR US. IT WAS SOOO NICE TO RELAX AND ENJOY COMPANY. ITS BEEN A WHILE

I ended up having a MUCH busier day than I thought.  We didn't go to older son's house.  He was busy working on cars that he had to get done.  Daughter was home, and we went shopping a bit in the afternoon.  We needed a gift, and it was the only day this week that we could go together.  We needed groceries, too, so we went to Super WalMart and spent $137.   :eek  How come I can NEVER get out of that store without spending at least $100???  But I had a big list and got a lot of odds and ends that I usually forget to buy.  And daughter got a pair of shorts and a bathing suit topper, so I guess it all adds up fast.

We cooked out here at home.  I made Grilled Garlic Chicken which is a recipe that Cindy put in the new cookbook, and it is YUMMY!!!!!  :yum

So today I am going to try to get into some sort of routine so I won't be a slug all summer.  If I establish some sort of routine, I will be better off.

I decided last night that when I went to bed to try and sleep as long as possible.  Well I was able to sleep until 8:00 am.  I do have this one more day before I go back to work.  I know I will have to get in really early tomorrow as I have new employee training but what the heck.  It is absolutely gorgeous out and I am going to enjoy every hour.  I am planning on walking tonight with my girlfriend so I figured get some extra sleep after a very very nice weekend but exhausting as well.

Jerry - well I appreciate with you gave me with those great pics of Apollo.  I am confused as to what day it is.  I think the tv just said Tuesday. :lol :lol :lol :lol

AS MUCH AS I CAN'T STAND REGIS & KELLY JORDIN SPARKS WILL BE ON.

Good Morning,

I just want to tell you that my mom is back in the hospital.  She hasn't been feeling great these past few days, but I thought it was her age and maybe not sleeping well.  Her appetite was still good and she really didn't show any signs of something going on, but by 4:00 yesterday I was calling the ambulance.  Of course, I went to my daughter's and I when I got back she was in respiratory distress; couldn't breath very well, kind of dilarious.  I thought she was having a heart attack.  Her temp. went up to 102.   Well, when I left the ER at 1:30 this morning, they were going to treat her for pneumonia, URI infection and I don't know what else because the blood tests didn't come back yet.  Now, she has a deep cough for months on and off but the nurse always said her lungs were clear and left it that.  The URI she had when she came home from surgery a couple of months ago and she took an anibiotic for that.  No one ever checked her again to see if it went away!!  Her leg looked like it might have been getting pretty red too.  All this after a big breakfast and a typical Monday morining.  Unbelievable!!  Thank you in advance for continued prayers.

Charlene - Yes, I got more done in the yard this weekend, but still have some to do. May do a bit today, but I have other things to do and some errands.  But it is supposed to rain the next two days, so I should make it a priority.  YES, I am coming to MI.   :bouncy  Not sure where I am sitting at the concert yet, but I will find something.

Hi everyone -
Well - we had a wonderful day - My son and I took my grandson for dinner and some gambling at Mountaineer (the local casino) We had the most delicious strip steaks with mushrooms, vegetables, cesare salads, and baked potatoes.
Then it must have been my grandson's lucky night. He couldn't lose!!!! Honest , he sat down at a quarter machine and I was right next to him. Would you believe that after only two spins , he won $250.00. I kept telling him "don't put it back in" and he laughed and said I won't Grandma , but he kept winning and ended up with $300.00 on that machine. Of course, all the time, Grandma is losing!!!! Well, we go to a nickle machine and, as I said , it must have been his night. We never laughed so hard - he won another $150.00 on a nickle machine.  All in all we had a wonderful time. He starts his new job today and we are certainly going to miss him at the pizza shop. He was a super cook.  OK - got lots to do and, of course, it's the pizza shop all this week.    Oh , by the way, Matt lost too. It was definitely Bryan's night and I'm so glad he enjoyed his day and night with us.

LINDA - JUST WHEN YOU THOUGHT MOM WAS COMING ALONG SOMETHING ELSE HAPPENS.  DARN IT WHY COULDN'T THAT NURSE HEAR THAT HER LUNGS WERE FILLED.  SOMETIMES I WONDER WHAT GOOD DO THEY DO.  I REMEMBER THE NURSES FOR MY MOM AS WELL.   :bang :bang :bang :bang  THANK THE GOOD LORD SHE MADE IT TO THE HOSPITAL.  PNEUMONIA IS SO DARN SCARY.  EVEN WITH THAT UTI.  THEY SHOULD HAVE DONE A RECHECK.  KEEP IN TOUCH.

EVELYN - I REMEMBER QUITE A FEW YEARS AGO WHEN I WAS AT THE CASINO AND I PUT IN 24 CENTS AND I WON $250.00.  IT WAS SHEAR LUCK BUT I DID SHARE IT WITH LINNY.  IT WILL PROBABLY NEVER HAPPEN AGAIN.  SOUNDS LIKE YOU HAD A GREAT DAY.

I ran all my errands.   :sonic  I went to mail a package at the post office, and the girl said it would be cheaper if I put it in one of their flat rate boxes.  SOOOOOooooooo  back home I went to RE-pack the box.  Back I went, and got it all done.  So I am home for the rest of the day.  Need to get several things done here at home.  I thought today would be a VERY productive day....and it was, since I got all the errands done and some bills paid online.  But now I am ready to sit down and rest.

I forgot to tell you!!!  (NOT that you care.... :lol  but we DO share here...)  We had this special offer from our cable company for unlimited long distance phone for the past few months.  It was up today.  So hubby called them to see what they could offer us to keep us on.  WEll..........we got phone service with unlimited long distance, cable internet, and EXTENDED cable TV, which I haven't had in a LONG time....for just $99 a month!!!!!  We were paying $65 for our internet, $20 for our cable TV, and when we were on our AT&T phone, over $100 a month just for that!!!  So this is a GREAT savings, and now I have all my cable channels back, and won't have to miss Clay when he is on one of them.   :bouncy :bouncy :bouncy :cheer2 :cheer2 :cheer2 :yahoo :yahoo :yahoo :yay  Just thought I would share that.   So if anyone would like to talk to me...   :lol   it won't cost me a penny more.   :bouncy

One of my stops was to the library, where they have an adult reading program each summer, so I went to check on that.  Usually, there is a breakfast at the end.  I told them I would join depending on the date of the breakfast.  I told them I was traveling a lot this summer.  They asked where I was going, and I told them.  I didn't mention Clay.   :wink  Just said at my age I deserve it.   :bouncy  And so do all of you, no MATTER what your age.   :ghug2

Good Afternoon,

It is raining again today, but just a light rain that comes and goes.  I ran some errands today including picking up some pictures from Walgreen and grocery shopping at Target.  Besides groceries, I got Skip some more white socks to wear with his white sneakers.  I have about 6 "orphan" white socks that don't match  at all. :bduh  So, I bought him a pkg of 10 pair that will all go together!  :wink

It sounds like you got a lot done today.  I actually stood in line at the PO to ask about sending a package once!!  Great news on the service that includes your phone, internet, and cable, too.  We have all of that together, but I'm not sure what it costs.  Sounds like you got quite a deal!

Sounds like a plan!  Work hard on that reading.  Maybe you could try reading a book a week or every couple of weeks, too!!  When I was your age, I read all the NANCY DREW books and the PERRY MASON books.    I'm sure I read others, too, but that's what I remember.  I believe that NANCY DREW is coming back as a series or a movie??

Well, the Dr. came by about 11:30. Said my blood pressure was really good (130/50), and was happy that I had lost the weight. He is going to send me to a pain control clinic and he said he would call me when he got back to the office to give me the DR's name and phone number. I have set here all day and he didn't call so I guess he will call tomorrow. He did send the mobile X-Ray unit over to X-Ray my back again.
GLORY, I hope  you can get settled down and get your tests done.

 Good morning all...i had an early night at work...i had to be there by 10:15 so i left the house 15 minutes til 9 last night. Tonight we go in 15 minutes later, 10:30...so i'll be leaving the house at 9 tonight. Memorial Day catch-up is what we call it...after tonight things should settle down until the next holiday rolls around that we're off work for.

Tiffany: Thanks for the summary! I'm yawning away at the minute...but i will be getting a shower later this morning before i go to bed. I had a Swamp Sludge McFlurry from McDonald's on my way home from work this morning. It has green M&M's in it and chocolate chips. The ice cream because of the green M&M's mixed in it, turns green.

I didn't have much time to post much at all yesterday...but everyone knows how i am during a work week. The majority of my posts all happen on the weekend's. I was doing a lot of up-dating behind the scenes at MySpace and added a video clip of Ray Stevens singing a comedy love song to Janie Fricke to my page over there. I also went and added a lot of videos to my favorites over there. It was the most time i had spent there since all of us here at the OCD jumped on the MySpace band-wagon a few years ago before it became what it's become.

I got up early because the dogs wanted out.  Sometimes, I think they just wake up and want me to get up, too!  :bduh

Our friend who works nearby but lives in East Texas came for dinner last night and stayed to watch the finale of one of our favorite shows, BOSTON LEGAL.  I think he is a BOSTON LEGAL convert, now.

Pepe, we had pecan sausage with barbecue sauce, sour cream and chives potatoes, baked beans, tossed salad, pineapple, and biscuits!!

Do you all recall that the quartet played for a reception at a hospital near me last week?  Receptions are always fun.  Well, the lady in charge of that reception referred us to another hospital, and now we are playing for a reception at a hospital in Arlington (just south of me) on Thursday!! :violin

PRISSY, Pecan Sausage?  How interesting!  Do you buy the sausage already made up or do you make it yourself?  I am still thinking about the English butter that Joann told me about.  My husband is a butter nut, we are always trying different butter to see if we can find some that doesn't taste oily.  Your dinner sounded wonderful and I am sure your guest really appreciated it.

 Charlene: I read your post on my thread and replied to it with pictures of Foster Brooks plus i put up the cover of a CD by Cledus T Judd that i hope gets released this June 5th. There have been multiple delays on the CD's release since the fall of 2005. So i'm hoping this latest "release date" holds true but who knows.

It's 75 outside...the high will be 91. The cheapest fuel price is $3.25 and i filled up this past weekend and am staying put most of the week. I was at the fuel mart and glanced at one of the pumps and seen someone put in 14 gallons and it cost them $60.00

Woodstock: It's insane! We don't know from night to night when our start times are. Tonight it's 10:30. When it's almost quitting time, we'll be told when to come in Thursday night, etc etc etc. When we were working 8 hours, i knew i'd be there from 11:15pm to 7:15am Monday-Friday but now it's whenever they say. It's usually strange after a holiday...then it gets back to somewhat 'normal'.

:wave Hey SNP!  I just saw this and thought I would give an update on Heather since I talk to her about everyday.  She is fine, just working VERY long hours (usually over 12 hours a day).  She is pretty wiped out by the time she gets home.  Her big event, the Women's Open, starts June 28th so she will be gone most of the month of June and very busy.  I'll let her know you were asking about her though.  :hugg  If anyone has a message to give to her you can pm them to me and I'll see she gets it.  I'm her PA (personal assistant).  :giggle

Good Morning Everyone,

I just wanted to say hi and tell everyone to have a great day.

Mom is still in the hospital.  Treating the leg and URI infections, plus getting some breathing treatments.  I think the worse thing is that she just got over the big doses of antibiotics a month ago and no again.   The URI must have never gone away.  She itches like crazy from those meds.   Next, they give her Benedryl, so that knocks her out.  What a vicious cycle.  Oh, well, what can you do.

Our dog is being tested for Cushing's Disease today.   My daughter has her first doctor's appointment and my son has a job interview, so it's a big day in our household.

Enough about me.   It's a beautiful day in CT.

Glory, I hope your stomach feels better soon.

The pecan sausage was already prepared and we got it at Central Market on Monday when we were out with JoAnn and Jennie.  It was one of the samples being given out.  All I had to do was  put it in a little water, cover it, and microwave it for a few minutes.  (My kind of cooking!)  :wink

Last week was supposed to be the last BOSTON LEGAL for the season, but because of THE BACHELOR and DWTS, it was delayed until last night.  It was really good.  I hope they will repeat BL during the summer.  I missed one episode because of storm coverage in my area.

Hi everyone. I have been so busy training for my new job. I actually Have had to work day shift, and it has me all messed up. I finally got my paperwork, but my insurance package has yet to come. I came home from work today and went to bed. I hope everyone here is doing well.

Good Morning All!

    Finally, my summer is here and wouldn't you believe that yesterday, on the first day off, a storm popped off our electricity for over 7 hours!  Now, I call that starting my vacation with a "bang!"

   Thank you for asking about my health scare this weekend.  Things are looking better.  I did get into see my regular doctor Tuesday, and tomorrow, I am scheduled to have an echocardiogram.  He said that he is going to check one thing at a time and this was the bwst place to start with.
      The clinic doctor had me in a panic!  I no longer have the symptoms of last week.  I'm still on pills(yuck) and twice a day breathing sessions.  He told me to finish up what that doctor had started.
    In a couple of hours, Mom and I are heading out to DFW Airport to greet ther returning soldiers.  I'm going to try to go once a week again this summer.  Today, the plane lands at 7:30 and our ride will be here at 6:30.  I love doing this.  They are so grateful as they hed out the door into a wall of wellcomers.  Some say that they "hear" about it and then when they "see" it, they are just overwelmed.

I have been  MIA for a few days, I could come and post late at night but by the time, everyone goes to bed my body is dead tired…so I will post when I can. Today MIL and FIL are visiting some friends who live in Yuka Valley; they will not be home until late this afternoon.

MIL and FIL will be staying with me until June 14. Hubby could not talk to his mom about calling before visiting. I know he tried but chicken out at the last minute. Since then I have been thinking long and hard and concluded that MIL and FIL are getting old, one day they will not be able to drop by any time they please so I will try to welcome them whenever they drop by unannounced. What else can I do, it is too late for them to change now. As far as the used bed, they charges us $50.00 dollars for it. I told hubby that I can only take so much from his parents and he had better say something about the bed, he did and MIL is giving it to the Salvation Army.


Linda I feel comfortable joking around and I know (most of the time) what to say when I am upset, but when it comes to serious things, I am lost for words… with that said here is a big hug for you, :hugg :bighug your mom and Samantha.

I got my Clayfix today.   :bigsmile  I drove to a town 15 miles south of here to go to a bigger grocery store, and I BLASTED my Clay music, and even sang along.   :lol  (It was not pretty.)  I had not listened to All is Well in awhile, and it is one of my ALL time favs.  When I hear Clay say All is Well....I believe him, and he makes me feel better.  I know that sounds silly....but it's true.  There's NOTHING like a Clayfix to make the day better.

Kat - I am SURE your party will be a lot of fun!!!!!  We are ALL ready to celebrate Clay!!!

Corbet - You SOUND like you feel a lot better.  I'm so glad.   :hugg

Krista - You are SO lucky to be going to one of the early concerts!!!  How much can I pay you to call me with one of the songs???  :wink  Just listening to  my CDs this afternoon made me EVEN more excited about the upcoming tour.

I have been thinking of you.  You are SO very kind.  And I know what you mean.  I feel guilty when I don't call my Mom enough, as she is getting up there in age, too.  You are an angel to handle this the way you are doing.   Good for you, I admire you.  BTW, in case you missed it, Frankie went to Memphis to help with her mom who is failing in health. She will be gone about 2 weeks.

I wanted to share my Dad's latest paintings. Well, they were the latest several months ago.

In this one he was trying to do a portrait of me but said he couldn't get the face just right so he said he just painted a pretty face (he's never tried to paint me before so it meant a lot to me):

I think these were both done before his "episode" that the doctors can't decide was a seizure or a mini-stroke. I don't know if he's painted anything since. These are also types of paintings he doesn't usually do. He usually focuses on landscapes (seascapes, forests, swamps, mountains, etc) or florals with recent forays into westerns with mesas, cowboys and horses. I wish I had photos of his early paintings to show how much he has improved over the years. He's been painting for 25 years, he taught himself as therapy after recovering from surgery to remove a brain tumor left him with no feeling on his left side and no depth perception.

I'd love to get these two blown up to poster size and framed. Maybe someday!

Hi everyone. Well I have done nothing but work this past week. I start my new job tomorrow. Well today I should say. I worked day shift for the past three days, and came home and went right to bed.  Good morning all...it's finally Friday! I am hoping next week things are back to normal as far as work hours are concerned. I hate having to leave the house around 9pm...and tonight it's no different. Well, there's a 15 minute gap...instead of leaving at 9 like last night, i'll be heading off at 9:15 which is unusual for a Friday night...usually i leave an hour later, 10:15, on Friday nights. I'm tired so i won't be up long. My blood pressure reading earlier this morning when i got home was 125/101 and my pulse rate was 111. I attribute that to an energy drink, though...i had drank the last of my MDX when i got out of work this morning. MDX is like a Mountain Dew product but it's billed as an energy drink.

I'm gonna read a few things and then head off for the morning.

 I liked seeing the new hairstyle pics...well, old/new hairstyle. The spikier look makes him look young...the other style made him look too much like the stereotypical "rocker filled with angst" and i hate angst and that image, to me at least, never fit the style of songs Clay chooses to perform. Even though it's the same person and his voice is the same when he talks and sings...hair and other material items are secondary to me...but i've always preferred the way it looked back in the day as Lorraine put it :yes

 Lorraine: :yes I had never had an energy drink effect me as severe as that so you can bet i'll be laying off of them for awhile. The brand name i usually drank was called "Amp". It came in a green color and a red color. I drank the red version last night. Amp, MDX, and Vault were the three i'd drink...not all the time, though...i typically drink Ginger Ale or Creame Soda but if i'm feeling lousy and worn out, i'll drink one of those energy drinks.

Good Morning!

A busy day yesterday!  I finally got some bills written, then went on some errands with Skip, including Braum's and the Post Office.  When we returned home, I had to quickly get ready for the quartet job at the hospital.  It was a reception for the installation of another President of a hospital;  like last week. 

At first, we thought there was no food at this reception! :eek  Just coffee, tea, and water.  But after some short speeches by a few people, we discovered there was another room behind the room we were in and that's where all the appetizers were.  After we had finished playing, we were invited to partake of the refreshments!!

There was the usual cheese varieties with crackers,  several kinds of fruit,  including chocolate covered strawberries!  :yum    But something different:  puffed pastry with beef and tiny stuffed baked potatoes.  Delicious!


On my way home, I called Jennie and JoAnn.  And Jennie said that she had to take JoAnn to the Emergency Room.  JoAnn started feeling sick and was unable to go with Jennie to meet the troops at the airport.  When Jennie returned, JoAnn said she still felt so bad, they'd better go to the ER.  When I called back again after I returned home, JoAnn answered and seemed to be feeling better.  She said that it may be a severe sinus infection that caused her to feel dizzy and nauseous.

I know she has another doctor's appointment today.  I will keep everyone informed.  Hopefully, she will be posting, too.

I never made it back on last night.  I had a bad night.  First of all, older son called to check on dates of our family camping trip in the fall, and he has a job in TN at that time.   :bang  Since he has to work when the power plant outages occur, he will have to miss our trip.  I told him he had to do what he had to do....but he was SO disappointed.  It made me very sad, and yet happy knowing how much it means to him.  Anyway, that was a disappointment.  :cry

Then hubby and I had a long talk on the porch.  We LOVE sitting on the porch in the summer.  I miss my doggie, as she loved sitting on the porch with us.   :cry  Remember that I told you hubby was having trouble with 2 of the people at work???  Apparently it is getting even worse.  One of the gals that is trying to cause all the trouble doesn't even talk to him anymore.  She claims there are big problems, but instead of trying to deal with them, all she does is makes them worse however she can.  WILL SOMEONE TELL ME WHY THERE ARE TRULY EVIL PEOPLE IN THIS WORLD???  Because she is one of them.  My husband wouldn't hurt a fly. He would bend over backwards to help anyone that needed it.  This person is just looking for personal gain.  But the truth is, she is incompetent, and my husband has had to cover her butt MANY times. But he works for the federal govt., and she works for the Conservation District, so he has no control over her job, and she has the people who hired her in the palm of her hands. She is a master manipulator, the most opinionated person in the world, and ABSOLUTELY thinks she is always right.  She's the one that screams at the umpires at her kids' ball games.  Total jock mentality.  I feel helpless.  There is nothing I can do but encourage him.  Did you ever feel like shooting someone???  I know God will forgive me for my thoughts, because I would NEVER do it.  But it just seems like justice is not always served.  I wouldn't wish badly on anyone.  But sometimes I think it takes some drastic measures for some  people to clearly see the big picture.  And there is more in the picture than themselves.  OK, off my  :soapbox  Thanks for anyone who took the time to listen to me.  It makes me feel a little better to share this.

Then hubby and I went out to work on the garden a bit.  My ankle was so swollen and painful I just had to come in and elevate it, and hubby had to fix dinner.

So I had a bad night.   :bang  Never got back here.  Was on the couch with my leg elevated.  It is  a LITTLE better today.  I am going to try to be careful today.  I don't want a repeat of yesterday.  :naughty

LOVED the download.  I agree with Linda.  Not sure if it is the "old" hair or bed head.   :lol  I really don't care.  The only hair I really didn't like was the AI5 hair, because it hid his beautiful eyes.  His smile is so nice in those pix, though.

Linda - You sure have a full plate.  I hope Mom gets to come home today.  I know that will mean more work from you, but she will probably be much more comfortable at home.  :hugg

AC - I'm really worried about your blood pressure, too, for someone so young. You should NOT drink those energy drinks as they are loaded with sugar and caffeine.  With your heart condition, you should avoid BOTH!!!  Would you TRY to drink diet sodas...those without caffeine...and see how much better you feel???  I like Diet Sprite, Diet Squirt, Diet Ginger Ale, Sierra Mist Free, they are all very good.  You can find Diet Root Beer and Diet Orange sodas that don't have caffeine, as well.  I challenge you to try it for a few days and see what your blood pressure is like.  Are you up to the challenge???

My little brother and his wife just arrived after driving for 12 hours to be here, so he's snoozing and she's showering as she wants to help set up.  I helped at their wedding.  She really is a special girl.

Older brother flew in yesterday afternoon, so we had dinner with him.  His wife can't make it as her hip went out on her again.  She's scheduled for a replacement in December, but with the pain and inability to do anything, it looks like she'll have to do sooner.

The results are in on my stepmom.   It is cancer, but they don't know what kind.  They want another biopsy to determine, which I just don't understand...they plan on operating to remove it, so why bother to determine what kind?  It is only in one spot thank the Lord!!!

The sad things about this special occassion for Kirk and I besides Daddy missing it are both of our mothers won't be with us.  They'll be looking down on us though and I just have this gut feeling, I'll get a sign from her telling me she's there.....I hope anyhow! :smile

I went to the grocery store this morning and came home and put the groceries away and ate lunch and sat down in my recliner and went to  sleep and slept till my soap operas came on. Great! I ate real food -the chewable kind - for the first time today :bouncy Saw the surgeon for follow-up. Waited 45 minutes to see him for literally 1 minute. He apologized for the delay, asked how it was (I said wonderful no pain, he said that's what he likes to hear), looked at it with a big popsicle stick, said it looked great, told me not to play with it with my tongue, he'd see me back in 3.5 months to x-ray and check the bone graft, and then said "we can walk out together, have a great day".

Say all of that out loud and that's literally how long I saw him. Irritating. But he's a great surgeon.

Michelle ~ but it was worth it right?......that is good that you can eat real food :clap ........anyhow even tho its a min it was worth it!!!..that is soooooo good that your jaw is coming back :clap GO MICHELLE!!!!! it will heal soon just have patience!!! :hugg :hugg :bighug

I can't believe I start work at the Retreat House on Monday.  It seems like it was a million days away, and now just a few days away.  I know I will enjoy it, and I need the Clay cash.   But it has been nice to be spoiled and not have to be anywhere.
