SESSION 114 OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS, OH MY GOODNESS!!!

Here is how we started:

Welcome, everyone to the very first meeting of the "OCD Support Group". (Obsessive Clay Disorder)

I am shy, so I walk slowly into the room and find a seat in the back. The meeting begins and there is a room full of claymaniacs. It is very quiet. I raise my hand very slowly. Pamela notices and asks, " Do you have something to share?" My knees are shaking, but I am able to finally get the words out.
"Hi. My name is Woodstock. And I suffer from OCD." The room erupts with applause. I hear so many things around me..."Welcome, Woodstock, what a great step to admit that!" "I do, too..." "We're all with you..." And I knew immediately that I have come to the right place.

We all talk about it, and joke about it, but this can be a serious subject,too. I love Clay, but quite honestly, I have worried about why I spend SO much time listening to him, downloading everything..talking about him on-line , taping EVERY TV show . And more than anything, simply thinking about him night and day. He enters my thoughts in the middle of just about everything! What is going on???
I am a 50-year-old (yikes) wife and mother of three children aged 18, 21 and 23. I have a career and am involved in many things. Then somehow, Clay has entered the picture and I fear he has taken over more of my life than I care to admit.

I realized awhile back that I suffered from OCD. But it was hard to admit to anyone. My 18-year-old son kept telling me that I was obsessed, and after awhile, I began to think he was right. And I spent night and day wondering what was wrong with me. Why are my thoughts going to Clay in the middle of a a school lesson or a church sermon? Why can't I wait to get home and turn on a Clay CD or check out claymaniacs.com to get new info on Clay? If Clay was going to be on a TV station that I didn't get, I HAD to find someone to tape it for me. I was beginning to think I was losing my mind. REALLY!!!

Then I found claymaniacs. It has been wonderful for me to talk to you. The more I got to know you guys, the more I was able to let it all hang out. And what did I learn? I'm NOT the only one. There is something about this guy that grabs you and wraps around your heart, and you're hooked. You are NOT going crazy, I have come to learn after talking to so many of you. I get pms and e-mails from people after I have posted something I couldn't admit anywhere else, and I realize I'm not alone! And it has been a great comfort to me. It took a little while, but I now know that I'm OK. And I feel much better. Now, I am enjoying Clay SO MUCH MORE, because I am not worrying about myself.

Let me make this perfectly clear: I am not over my OCD! I still think about Clay all the time (24/7?) and listen to him sing(OMG) constantly, and download, and chat about him. But I no longer worry that there is something wrong with me. I know I am not alone. There is something so very special about this man. He is the whole package. Because I was able to feel better after admitting things to you guys here, I decided that this is a thread that is needed here. Here is your place to vent. Admit your feelings, or confess something that you have thought or done. It is our hope that by doing that, you will find out that it's OK and you will stop worrying about yourself, and now be able to enjoy Clay even more. I hope this is a place everyone can come back to as needed.

Rules, rules, rules.... Everyone must promise to be kind, respectful, non-judgemental, and supportive. (Easy for claymaniacs.) Again, this is your place to get something off your chest, or just admit your OCD and accept it. So, let the discussions begin!
Just for fun, if you join in the conversation, you then become an official charter member of the OCD Support Group, and can add that to your signature if you wish. I look forward to each and every one of your posts.

That was the beginning of Session 1.

And now on to Session 114.  WHO WOULD EVER HAVE THOUGHT??? We are moving along. I am SO happy so many of you have stayed around for the long haul, and welcome each and every new friend here. I say WOW!!!!! Good times with good friends. That is what this is all about.

I am no longer including a detailed description of our Therapy Center (just pretend, for those of you that are new.) I will just say that we meet in a Cyber Cottage on a Street With No Name. We have to continue the THUD room, as it is such an important part of our therapy. So please feel free to frequent it as needed. For more details, please read a past thread.(Located in the Archives.) And Pepe did ask for a Cybermaid to come in once a month. These girls have always been high maintenance, but worth it.

As for the rules, these are to keep the place somewhere we all are proud to come to:
I will repeat the rules, because we now have 6!!! At the request of Bocaqueen, we have added #6:
YOU MUST BE: 1. kind 2. respectful 3. non-judgmental 4. supportive
AND 5. YOU MUST NEVER SAY THE "s" word. (sorry). No need to apologize for thoughts and feelings. 6. No dieting when at OCD meetings. Period.

And I am going to take it upon myself to add a suggestion (one that many people make to me), but not make it a rule. It is your choice as your time allows. But I am going to say that if you don't have time PLEASE DON'T FEEL LIKE YOU HAVE TO KETCHUP !!! Jump in and say hi, tell us what is up in your Clay world, and have good conversation. Yes, you may miss someone's post, but we never want being here to be so time-consuming that it causes frustration, family problems, or a cause to drive you away. We never want ANYONE to feel they need to address each person. It is simply impossible and no one expects it anymore. If some people choose to do that, it is their choice, but simply not expected. We have grown so big, and happily so!!! So, let's just jump in, read one page behind, and enjoy the conversation. Not a rule!!!! Just something that has been suggested to me many times...

And our OCD pact: No hard feelings if someone doesn't mention you in their post. We are getting far too big for that to ever be a reality again, but we are blessed by many new friends. We are a happy group here. And we intend to keep it that way.

Every now and then someone pms with me a concern, idea, or observation. I appreciate and take to heart each and every pm. I feel we are all equal in this thread, equal partners, but because I started this thread some people come to me, and I am happy to help if I can. Recently, someone came to me asking me to remind everyone that we are a PG thread, we are "family friendly", as Clay would see it, and we do welcome in friends of all ages. If the spirit moves you, and you feel your comments may not be within PG, claymaniacs does have threads for this.  There is the Black Leather Pants thread and the Motor City Red Thong Mafia thread in Current Community Central, and the Adult Playground forum in Communities. Thank you for understanding this. I do not think we have crossed the line, in my opinion, but it does not hurt to bring this subject up as one of concern to some OCDers.

This has come up again. People want to have fun here, and we do, don't we??? Let it continue, but we welcome friends of all ages, so let us keep it PG.

WANT TO TELL YOU ALL FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART HOW SPECIAL CLAYMANIACS IS TO ME, BUT MOST ESPECIALLY OUR FAMILY HERE ON THE OCD   .  I HAVE ALWAYS FELT THAT THE OCD IS LIKE A VERY BIG ROUND TABLE  THAT WE ALL ARE  SITTING AT  ; LAUGHING, SHARING OUR RL STORIES OF HAPPY & SAD, SUPPORTING ONE ANOTHER THRU  TOUGH TIMES AND BOTTOM LINE JUST BEING A FAMILY OF CARING FOR EACH OTHER.

Here is a toast to all of you that we may be here for 100 more sessions.  We stick together thru sickness, trouble, happiness and we are always here to pick each other up and put a smile on your face.  I talk to more of my OCD family than I do my own blood relatives.  You are so important to me and are a main part of my life.  I have never received so many cards or gifts before and every day is exciting to see what you are all doing and who needs comforting and who needs feeding.  My heart is full of love for each of you !

Happy 100 Everyone!

Sometimes when I think about coming to Claymaniacs and finding the OCD, it's hard for me to believe that it's been over 2 years since I first started coming here.  Like many of you, I was one of those people who wasn't sure about the feelings I had about how much I enjoyed Clay's music and how I wanted to know so much about him and how I couldn't wait to see him on another show.  I felt like it was an "obsession" and that word doesn't normally have a good connotation.  When I found the OCD and realized that there were many other people with the same "condition" I was so relieved.  I felt welcome here from the very beginning.  I lurked for awhile and then I started PMing with Clandy as we were getting ready for the big North Carolina concert weekend and she convinced me to start posting more.  What a great decision that was!

I have been lucky enough to meet most of the people that post at the OCD.  I have made many, many friends here and was lucky enough to meet one of my best friends here.  It may have been Clay that initially brought us together, but that's not why we stay.  We stay for each other. 

Here's to 100 more sessions!!

PRAYER LIST

Welcome to The OCD's Prayer List. Many of our OCD members have expressed a desire to share our Love, Care and Concern for each other through the Love and Faith we share in Our Lord. This has resulted in starting a Prayer List that includes the names of our members that have requested to be prayed for and therefore, reflects the needs or petitions of/for the individual.

We will divide this list into three areas for prayers.  The first will be for a general/daily prayer, next is for Urgent/"SOS's" to God as emergencies arise, and last is for circumstances that we are aware of or that the individual has they, themselves requested.

We are doing this away from the main pages as not to offend anyone who is not of likemindedness. We ask that as we respect your decision not to join us in Prayer, that you accept our need, as believers, to minister to each other in this fashion.

We do, however, invite you to read our list, and if you would like to, just take the time to think good thoughts and well wishes for those who are suffering or in need.

I hope you all bear with me in overseeing this list. If you find I have not included someone., it is either because they requested not to be included or that I am not sure where you stand on this issue. If you would like to be added to the list, please PM me with your request. If I have added you in error, my apologies and please notify me thru PM asap.

Everyone who has requested to be part of this group will be listed daily. If there is nothing beside your name, it is either I am not sure if something that you told me was announced publicly or privately to me and therefore for privacy issues, I would not take the chance to include it. Know that if it is not there and I am aware of it, as any of you may know things about one another that we ALL are not privy to....please remember to include those in your private prayers. ------------------------------------------------------------

CLAY AIKEN: Most merciful Father...our prayers are for Your obedient steward, Clay.  Lord, Clay does Your work utilizing his beautiful voice for Your praise and glory and the benefit of children and all people..we ask that you guide him to where he can best share Your love and aid those without a voice.  Thank you for this young messenger you've sent to us who exemplifies doing Your will and sharing Your word.  We pray for Clay's protection...please keep him safe on whatever path he may be at the moment.  Keep Clay strong for the journey ahead.  Let his good deeds shine forth and forever change the lives of the less fortunate who have been victims of horrendous hardship.

Father, at this moment, Clay is going through a most difficult and personal issue....meanspirited people are constantly attacking this wonderful young man.  We ask that You give him the strength to get through these vicious attacks and let him continue getting through these hurtful times with grace, dignity and a continued faith that You are always by his side carrying him through.
Also, we ask that You watch over Clay's brother, Brett, who is serving in the military. Please, keep their Mother, Faye Parker strong, in the midst of such worry for both of her beloved sons. Father, grant us, these, our urgent requests.



Clays_Buddy/Liz.... Loving Father, our dear friend Liz has lost her battle with her illness, ALS, but has now gained everlasting peace.  She meant so very much to us, and has touched all of our lives.  We now pray for her family: for Eric, her dear husband that couragiously faced this illness with Liz and was there for her all the way.  For her son, Blake, we pray that he will carry his mother's loving memories his whole life, and remember all the wonderful things she taught him raising this fine son.  And we pray for Liz's Mom, Lauretta, and the rest of her family as they deal with their terrible grief.  May memories and knowing she is now in your loving hands bring comfort to them all.

Alli_Aiken/Alli: Father of Mercy, we come to You over and over, always asking something of You.  In Your Love and Mercy, You listened to the prayers of Your faithful.  Our young, sweet friend Alli had been diagnosed with Hodgkins Disease but is now, thankfully in remission.  We knew that medically, this is one of the most curable of Cancers.  However, we had knowledge beyond that of the medical type...we had knowledge of You....the Master Physician and Healer.  We knew that You would be carrying Alli through every step of her healing.  We ask You continue to lay Your healing hands upon this wonderful young lady. Thank You O Merciful Lord.

ClayDevotee/Thea:Father Almighty, Father of Mercy....You have nothing but love and concern for Your children.  Right now, Thea ,Your precous child is full of fear and worry.  She has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer and is undergoing daily treatments.  The Dr's have advanced so far in helping people diagnosed with this dreadful disease, however, we know that You are the answer to everything.  We ask You once again, to lay your healing hands on Thea and cure her of any disease that may be invading her body.  Give her strength and courage to face whatever trial she may be facing along with even a deeper faith at this most trying time.  We are here Father to aid our friend along the way...use us to do Your will and minister to one another.

GLORY/Diane: Father of Mercy and Strength, our friend Diane is beside herself with worry for her precious new baby grandson Miller.  Miller is just days old and has been rushed to the hospital.  As of yet the Dr's do not know what is wrong, but  You are aware of everything and orchestrator of all.  We ask You in Your infinite mercy and love, to make little Miller well.  We also ask that you give courage and hope to Miller's parents throughout this frightening situation.  Thank You Lord ,for listening and answering these, our petitions. 

LadyC/Kris: Heavenly Father, we ask and ask of You. This time we come to you on behalf of our friend Kris.  Kris has had to face many trials in this lifetime......we ask that You look upon our friend with mercy, and heal her from all afflictions and ease her many burdens.  Lord, we know that You are merciful and kind and that You will hear the plea of many.  Thank You for the grace You show to your faithful.

LiftClayUp/Carol:  Most merciful and Loving Lord...we once again come to you with heavy hearts.  Our friend has lost the fight against her Cancer. We asked You to ease Carol's pain and hold her in Your loving arms....and You did just that....You have taken away ALL her worldly pain and taken her back home to a place that knows no pain or heartache,  only beauty resides there.  At this time though, her family is in pain dealing with their separation from their loved one.  Please, give them strength and comfort at this time of mourning and may they always remember to celebrate Carol through all of their lives.

Spikee/Happy:  Dearest Lord, our friend's have a heaviness in their hearts concerning their family.  Please, bless this family and ease the burden that is present at the moment. We place our faith in You knowing that You will decide what is best regarding the outcome of the situation at hand.  May the love Peggy and Dick share spill over into the lives of their children and Grandchildren.  Thank You Father.

Wordsmith1223/Lynn: Father, orchestrator of all things, we came to You in prayer and implored You to lay Your healing hands on Charlie and restore him to perfect health. You heard us and have taken the Life-Threatening threat away from this young man.  The news looks positive, however Charlie is suffering with eye issues and he will need a Cornea Replacement in the aftermath of his illness.  We ask that there will be no permanent damage, and we are confident knowing You will heal him.   Father, You are the Master Physician and we place all faith in You and thanking You always for allowing us to come to You with these our prayers.

CLAYMANIAC FRIEND'S: 


ACCOUNTRYFAN/JERRY :Father, we are very concerned with our friend Jerry's High Blood Pressure.  Please, help him to gret this under control and be aware of the things that cause this problem. Also, we ask You to help him to face new experiences without anxiety. Thank you for the friendship he brings to us.

AIKENISMYIDOL/MONICA : Loving Father, Give Monica direction, courage and the ability to use all the many talents she possesses. We ask that You grant our young friend good health and happiness always.

alli_aiken/Alli:Dearest Father, Our young friend is carrying around a heavy heart....she is finding college difficult even though she graduated at the top of her High School Class.  Change is difficult for anyone, but, it is especially hard on someone at this age.  Alli also has a financial burdens.  These burdens are part of the depression she is experiencing.  Also, she feels lonely.  We ask that You comfort her, give her strength and guide her to where she needs to be in her life.  Lord, we are all here for our friend, but,  please, put her together with some wonderful people her age that she may enjoy this special time of her life.

ANGELA : Our friend Angela has been at her job for many years and is in danger of losing it...please grant her peace of mind that all things will work out for the best in whatever direction You may lead her. Also, Angela's Dad had a seizure in the recent past and there is constant concern for him because of this and other health issues.  We once again ask you to hear the prayers of so many that care, and watch over this loving father and husband. 

BOCAQUEEN/SUSAN : Lord, Please remember Susan's Mother who has suffered for 8 years with a dibiliating cough and who also has a Brain Anuerysm. Both of Susan's sons have very high blood pressure and we pray that there is no danger to them from reprecussions of this pressure. We also ask for Little Stephanie who has Hydrochephalis and numerous other health issues. Lord of Mercy, we know that Stephanie's battles are far from over but we come to You, the Master Physician, asking to please, heal this child of all her many afflictions and give strength and comfort to those who love and care for her. Also, we pray for healing for Susan's little cousin Angela who has severe Autism. We also ask that You heal our friend Susan from the symptoms she is suffering with from her Graves Disease and Severe Hyperthyroidism.

BOZENA : Please Father, continue to give healing to her ankle that has had many surgeries. May Bozena have success with weightloss as it is important towards getting her Diabetes under control. Lord, please bless our wonderful caring friend for her good works...she is a testament to Your way.

claysjoy/Kris :Most gracious and understanding Father, we know you hear each and every prayer...we come to You and ask You to have mercy and grant another request....our friend Kris is having her patience tried and is suffering within and needs your help to cope. Please, we ask that You embrace her with Your presence and calm her. Bring peace and serenity into her life , that she is in such need of. Thanks be to You O Lord.

CL4CLAY/EVELYN : Lord,  Our beloved friend  Evelyn has Hyperthyroidism and is suffering from many of it's symptoms , but is most worried about the Double Vision it is causing. Please Father, we ask that You stabilize Evelyn's condition and take away this  trouble with her eyes as it is also dangerous for her to get around. May you look upon our special friend with favor and bless her with all that makes for a good life...health, happiness and love.

claydevotee/Thea : Father,  please shower Thea and her loved ones with all of Your wondrous blessings.

CLAYFAN4LYF88/KIMMY :Lord, Our young friend is suffering with depression.  Please, lift Kimmy's spirits and take away all the pain she is going through. 

Claymaniac113078/Cindy: Father of Love and protector of all, we humbly beseech You to surround Cindy and her family with Your light, keeping all evil away and letting no harm befall this precious family. Burdens were many and we prayed that You would lift and ease the heartache.....and You did.  Loving Lord, we knew there would be only one set of footprints, and there were, for You  carried them through this trial and gave Cindy and her family strength and comfort. Thanks be to You O Lord. Please, bless Cindy and her loved ones with, health, happiness and lots of love.  We give thanks and praise for Your bringing an end to the turmoil that had been faced by this wonderful family.

CLAYMANIAC2000/JANET : Merciful Lord, we ask for healing for Janet's back pain and health issues.  May You watch over Janet as she lives alone and we worry about our friend.

CTlovesCLAY/LINDA :Lord of Mercy, dear Linda is suffering with many health issues and her eyes are of particular concern.   Please, heal her of all these woes. Father, please give Strength and comfort to our friend as she also cares for her Mother and Mother-in-law. It is most difficult and exhausting being a caretaker, but such a pure and selfless act.  Also, we ask for healing FOR both these women who are ill. We ask that you bless Linda with nothing less than health, happiness and lots of love.

DUDLEY5 : Heal our friend from her cancer Lord, for You are the Master Physician with whom all things are possible. Thank you dear God for bringing Dudley safely out of her surgeries and we ask that you give her strength, comfort and hope to believe that she will *~*SoOoN!!*~* be through with all this heartache and fear.
Also, prayers are being sent up for her beloved son who is a Pilot...Lord, You surely know the nature of what he is in urgent need of.  Please, watch over him , keeping him safe from all harm and give his family strength and comfort during this difficult time.

fhmmany :Bless our friend dearest Father, and protect this lovely person , her husband Lewis and all her loved ones, from any ill. May happiness always surround Frankie and her beloved family.
Grant peace, prosperity, and especially good health to this generous, warmhearted and caring lady. May You heal her granddaughter Laney, from all her ear problems.

FLAKENFORAIKENINFL : Lift our dear friend's spirits as she struggles with personal issues. O most merciful Lord, please help our friend with the heavy burden she is carrying at her job, this is the time she would need to see just "one" set of footprints.....please Father...Carry her through this. Lord...we also ask that you watch over  her husband Roy, her daughter's and parents as well .

forever_clay/Amanda :Please, most merciful Father, guide Amanda, Your precious Child, to a place that will make her happy and whole. Let her realize she has many who care and are concerned for her and her wellbeing. Give Amanda Hope, Comfort and craddle her in Your Loving arms. May whatever is missing or difficult in her relationships at home be healed and replaced with unconditional love and acceptance.

Geraldine/Charlene:  Father in Heaven, we come to you on behalf of our sweet friend Charlene and her family.  We ask that You watch over them always keeping them safe from harm and all evil.  We especially are worried about Charlene's son who is suffering severe depression.  Lord, You alone can lift this mans spirits and help him through these trying times.  Heal him and bring sunshine, laughter and love back into his life.  May this family be filled with Your Spirit and turn to You for all their needs.  We thank You for hearing all of our prayers . We know that You answer them in Your own time and in Your own way, knowing what is best for us.

GLORY/DIANE :Lord, we worry so about our special friend.  She struggles in many areas of her life, and we ask that You intervene and ease her burdens.  Keep Glory healthy and provide her with all that is necessary for her to get through these trying times. We also thank You for bringing Diane's son and family back to the States safely where they can be together with their loving Mother. Tim is a missionary who has lived his life doing your will Father and spreading Your word  and now he, his wife and their new baby girl have relocated back here to the States.  Tim has not found a place, as of yet, to continue doing Your work.... Please direct this family where they can best serve You O' Lord. 

GRAMMAof6/BARB Father, we thank You for the Protection You gave to Barb's son-in-law who was overseas in the military and that You bought him safely home. We are ever so grateful to her family for their sacrifice as he was away to protect all of us and our country. May You grant Barbara and her family peace, health and happiness.

Heater/Heather :Lord, our friend Heather has been trying so hard to lose weight ,like so many of us, please give her the perserverence and strength to follow through and keep to a regimen. Also, at this moment Heather is dealing with a lot of stress at work.  This should be a temporary issue, but prayers always ease everyones burdens and so we come to You on behalf of our sweet friend.

HER/JAYNE :.Dearest Lord, we prayed to You asking for our dear friend Jayne to be in a position where she would find happiness and strength and Lo and Behold You have once again answered our prayers. Father, in all Your mercy You brought a wonderful man, by the name of Kirk, into Jayne's life. Kirk has given Jayne love abounding and treats her with kindness and respect, and all things that were missing in her life for so long.  Soon, the Two shall become One, and we ask that You continue to bless this union. Our prayers are also continuous for Jayne's Dad and healing from his cancer and his knee replacement. Jayne's younger brother also has had health issues and our prayers are with him as well. Thanks be to You o Lord!

Most merciful and loving Father, You have answered our prayers yet again by blessing Colleen and Scott with beautiful twin girls. Abby and Annie have bought such joy and happiness to this family. However Father, as You know, little Annie had been suffering from Seizures and possibly has developmental issues......Please, we ask You to heal this precious little girl. Father, we also ask that You Heal Colleen's brother who is paralyzed on one side and give strength to his family as they care for him.  It is most difficult being a caretaker and dealing with the heartache as well. Bless this family and provide them with strength and courage.

Carpal Tunnel is another issue that causes much pain and difficulty for our dear friend. Please, lay Your healing hands upon this wonderful woman and restore her to the best health possible.  Also, we ask that You keep our friend safe from all ill and enrich her life with all that would bring her happiness.

PHILLYLUVSCLAY :Most merciful Lord....Please heal the stomach problems that our special friend is suffering with. Father, Our friend  has gone  thru a trying time in her life in the recent past...please, continue to bring her peace and comfort from the pain of the memories of how her family has sufferend beyond the trials of most. No big plans for today....except housework getting ready for young son to get home later today.  And BASKETBALL, of course.  It's our state class AA tourney, too, this weekend.  It always works out that way.  It's hard to watch both the state tourney and the NCAA.   :lol  But I'll try to get a little of both in.  Since IL is out, it is less exciting.  I'll just  :cross  for the rest of my picks!!!  I already have ONE loss in the 3rd round since I picked IL to win one more round.   :cry

GOOD MORNING! I remember when I was first drawn to Clay. I immediately became obsessed with him and my love for him grew more and more each day. Oh how I wished there were others out there I could share how OCDED with him I had become. Then I found Claymaniacs. I never dreamed that I would meet such wonderfu. kind, caring, fun loving others. You have all become an extended family to me. It has been a pleasure to have met some of you. I tend to be a fairly shy person and it took me a while to open up my feelings on here, but the more and more I got to know each of you, I have had so many good times here with all of you. When I go to bed at night, I look forward to each morning to be able to come here and see everyone. Clay and all of you has been a positive force in my life now that I feel blessed to be a part of the OCD family. My love to all and continued wonderful friendships.

Woody - It sounds like there are going to be plenty of people to Claytrek with to Asheville. My dilemma is: Do I get a one-way ticket to Raleigh and then fly out of Asheville on Sunday? Or, do I just get a round trip ticket out of Raleigh?

Someone at CV uses this site for airline tickets: BookingBuddy (http://www.bookingbuddy.com) I was poking around last night and found a round trip ticket from Pittsburgh to Raleigh (no late night or early morning, only one stop on the return trip) for 155.85. Thought that was pretty good.

I had planned to go shopping with a friend (I need a few new things for Spring), but I'm going to stay home with Scooter. She is not sick any more, but it is going to take time to get her insulin straightened out again - still not up to her usual amount, and she has to be watched in case she needs a syringe of syrup or sugar water. But I'm grateful she is better. I'm going down to the office to do a few things later, and she will go with me.

Woody - thanks, as always, for the new home. Enjoy having your son home today. I'm sure I'll be watching games, too. there are no games in New Orleans today, so Lewis and son Lewis will be doing the tourist thing. Lewis' brother has flown down from Memphis, so I know they will find things to do - and I'm sure they will be watching some games on T.V., too. I love corned beef - especially Ruben sandwiches.

Glory - you remind me so of my sister. I could not tell you the date of the day my Dad died (I know it is sometime in February). But his birthday was October 13. I just don't remember the bad days - keep your happy memories alive. I know that he is proud of you, and that he loves his great grandchildren from Heaven.  :hugg

Charlene - what a beautiful post! You said it all. I lurked for months before I joined Claymaniacs, and did not talk here for a long time (sometimes I think I should have never talked here), but I am so glad that I have a place to come to share loving Our Honey!

AC - I found something I am going to mail to you yesterday - Elvis made his first public appearance (for money) in Shreveport. The Civic Auditorium where he performed and the Shreveport newspaper put out a booklet to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of that. Lewis told me to mail it to you for your "museum".

Lindsay - i am going to go to that ticket site, and also the one that Glory mentioned last night - I had never heard of either of them!

Lorraine - that is a lot of snow for so late - glad your neighbor is plowing you out - maybe he will add your sidewalk as a bonus.

Scooter was a sweetie again for her shot - it is always a relief when I can give them with no problems - thank goodness I have my neighbor to call in cse of emergency, though - he called last night to make sure I didn't need help with her - I appreciate him so much!

It is only 3 weeks until Easter, so after it warms up a little, I'm going out to the barn to get the Easter decorations out - especially the wreaths for the doors. I already have my big ceramic bunnies on the table - now I have to find everything else!

Janet - love seeing the pictures of Clay and Mike again. I have the Caregiver magazine that those pictures were in - Clay, Diane, and Mike are on the cover. I bet Mike is almost grown now.

Carla - are you lurking?  :para I thought about you the other day as I was buying art supplies for Laney's Easter basket (she is 8!) I bought the cutest sketch book - you make a thumbprint with paint or ink, and the book shows all of the different things you can make from that - animals, birds, etc. I think she will love it - and I think she will be taking everyone's thumbprints!  :lol I also got her a lot of pens (even glitter pens), paint, and other sketch books. There is nothing she would rather have - I think she will be drawing all of the time all of her life, as you do!

Prissy - I will reserve a room today - think I'm going with whatever is closest to the venue. I'm with you - if there is a get-together after the concert at another hotel, we'll just go there. (And I hope there will be something after the concert - as you know - I'm not much on pre-parties - I just want to get to the venue, find my seat, and see Clay!!!!)  :whoot

Angela, I hope you read this post, your post made me laugh. Two to three years ago, I was in the Philippines visiting my family and relatives. One day, a few of my cousin's children (teenagers) come to visit me, to make a long story short they end up looking at the many photo albums scattered all over my sister’s house. One boy looked at my photo that was taken when I was sixteen, and then he looked at me and said, “Wow, you were pretty then.” I didn’t know what to say so I just laugh. When I read your post, I notice that you use the present tense “are” then I started laughing hard. :lol :lol BTW, I hope you can understand my rumbling. I hope you’re through shoveling snow.

Lolita and Glory ~ how long have you been having this scrolling problem?  Have you tried restarting your computer and see if it helps?  Is it happening on all the threads/webpages or just here on the OCD?

I found out something today - I had never watched the Wango Tango DVD I mentioned to Meesa this morning. Once about 3 years ago, a friend sent me several DVDs at the same time, and I remember scanning them to see what was on them (no labels) , but I guess I never sat down and watched them. This one has 5 songs from Wango Tango (sound is horrible, but you get to see that green shirt and those blue jeans walk around  :thud ), and after Wango Tango is some old footage of Raleigh appearances from 1999 - that is how I know I never watched it before - I would have remembered the old Raleigh footage. He dances quite a bit during songs, and introduces himself as Clay Grissom!

Back to cleaning closets - I am getting a lot done this weekend, but it is very quiet here!

                       ACTUALLY CLANDY IT STARTED LAST NIGHT.

Clandy, my margin problem started yesterday, I just posted at ANN  a minute or so ago and I don't have a problem over there; but for me the margin problem only happens while I’m writing my post and viewing it, once I post it, the margin problem seems to dissapear.    I'm winding down from a wonderful spring break.   Just took it easy each day,no big plans, just had fun in the hometown surroundings.  Mom,Prissy, Skip and I didhave some great times this week. 
  The one big piece of news----July 7-a certain someone :thud is coming to Nokia Theater.  Now I wonder who that could be? :bigsmile    Hope everyone has good luck a the "ticket stress".

LOLITA, I have never got to see Clay in person and I never will because I live on such a small amount of Socisl Security that I can barely exist, but I am completely happy just being able to sit here and read the cell certs. I am always just as excited as everybody who is going to see him in person, just waiting to see what he is going to sing. And then somebody always makes a DVD of the concerts and sends me one so I am a happy camper.

I bought two boxes of Girl Scout cookies today at $4.00 each!!  I said to the little girl, "I remember when I used to pay $1.50 for these."  She looked at me with a blank stare. :lol :lol :lol  I just said thank you and kept on walking.  I can never go by those little girls without stopping.  My husband bought two from someone's little girl at work, never told me and ate them both already.  He knows I can't afford to gain weight I guess.

My daughter just called and she and hubby are on their way over to drop something off; that means they will visit for awhile.  I have to put something on to hold me up now. :lol :lol :lol

I just got a call from Lewis - I did not even think about him being in new Orleans - in the French quarter - on St. Patrick's Day. He said it is wild down there (and I bet it is!) AC - Loretta Lynn has had an amazing life - she has the life that my parents had when they were children - complete and utter poverty- not much chance to go to school because everybody had to help raise food just to live - it's good to see all that she has achieved.

Well, the crust is stuffed with mozerella cheese like what you're speaking of but it's been split into chunks that rip apart in your hand and you can dip them in the breadstick sauce they give you.


:yes It's amazing the life she had. My mom, believe it or not, was raised in that same type of existance and that was in the late '50s and early '60s years after "poverty" was supposedly gone. My mom was raised by her grandparent's and that's why the existance carried a 1940's flavor. My mom lived in a house with no indoor plumbing...they used an out-house. The outhouse is no longer there but the house is still there. My dad's sister and her husband, the uncle i have with Alzheimer's, had his family house restored several years ago and they both live there. The house has been there since 1938 i think? This is how the house looks now...it didn't always look that cozy...but the design was kept in tact when the remodeling was applied. I know it's small but it doesn't matter :no

I just got back from dinner with my family. We celebrated my birthday as well as my aunt's. I got some really nice things ... a stadium seat for the football games, some body wash, money and and iPod Nano. I'm super excited about it! :whoot It's even my favorite color - blue. :bigsmile I can't wait to wear it to the gym.

The wedding went well this evening.  It was at a huge church in Dallas.  9 bridesmaids, 9 groomsmen, 1 flower girl.  And all of the guests wore tuxes and evening dresses;  very classy! :violin

I hope everyone has had a great St. Patrick's Day. :stpat1  The only green I wore with my black quartet outfit was the green in an emerald ring.

I watched a movie that I thought was 2 hours long and it turned out to be 4 hours so I am sleepy now and I won't make it much longer.
TAMMY.  I think the Florida venue is about 150 miles from me.  And believe me I am happy just reading the cellcerts and then watching a DVD after somebody gets them made. Besides my eyesight is so bad that I couldn't see him unless I was in the front row and that wouldn't be  likely.  So don't worry about me. I am just happy for everyone who can go see him.

Frankie, wow wild on St. Patrick's day too in New Orleans!?!??!   Why not.  It's celebrated all over the country.  It's a good money making day.  I meant to tell you, we are French; a little Irish and I believe indian.   What a combination!! 

Prissy, that was a big wedding.  My daughter's was kind of like that.  If it is organized, it all works out.  You sure have seen some beautiful weddings, or I should say played for.   It was me that probably mentioned Evelyn and how she brought cookies.  After we met her in the airport, we immediately opened up the cookie box, stayed in the parking lot for another 20 minutes or so just sampling every kind she had made.  Sooooooooo delicious!!!

AC, I vote for the no mustache, but I am just glad to see your picture and the smile that goes with it.  Is there anything you can't find?  Two choices for the Mystic Pizza.  Since Tammy lives in Mystic, I think that will be her choice.  The Stonington one looks pretty good though.  That is another beautiful town in Ct.  Very artsy.  I think the remodeling of the house looks great.  I love the side porch!!!!  Thank you for sharing your family stories, AC.

Evelyn, so far, just New Hampshire.  It will be a drive, but we went there last year and had a good time.   Sasha and Angela will be there so it makes it even better.

Jean Sheperd was on the Opry tonight as well. She's the one who said the joke Friday night as i was driving to work. I was reading your commentary to Prissy about a hotel. I've never stayed in a hotel before. Years ago i was in a motel with my grandparent's. I've never been to one in recent memory, though. We have a Holiday Inn and some other hotels around here. I've never attempted to stay in one...i have my house nearby so why pay to stay in a hotel. However, i do know they can come in handy...suppose you meet someone? Well, in my case, the hotel near Wal*Mart is convenient for me if such a thing ever happened. In reality, though, i would probably check into the hotel...get me a room up on the top floor and have a thrilling and stunning view of Wal*Mart in my window. It doesn't get any better than that, Tiffany!!

Well, as part of our errands the other day for the wedding, we got pricing on tablecloth rentals 12.50 a piece, ridiculous! So, we're seeing if feasible to make ourselves.  I can use a sewing machine, I just don't know how to measure...anyone here know how to figure out how many yards?  The bolt is 45 in. wide, so I'll make them in two pieces since down to the floor is 96 in...anyone have a clue how many yards?  Thanks!

Frankie and lorraine - I was up at 3:30 but I was a good girl and didn't check in here, as I am sure I wouldn't have gone back to bed.  But now I see I have 5 pages to read.   :eek

I never get back here as my son came home.   :bouncy  He is so much fun.   :bouncy  We had a lot of fun getting caught up and we were watching basketball, too.  And we had our corned beef and cabbage, with potatoes and carrots, of course.  And Irish Soda bread, which hubby bought.  I make it sometimes, but since I'm not fond of raisins, I don't put them in and he likes the raisins.

I have to  :sonic  to get ready for church, since I went back to bed and slept all the way to 8:15.   :eek  I was up for about 3 hours and I got all caught up on my soap tapes...finally. 

Jayne - If you need 96 inches X 2 for each table, that comes out to about 5 1/3 yards of fabric per table.   :bigsmile  That's quite a bit.  Hope that helps!!!

Frankie - I see you and I are down to 3rd place in the pool.   :cry  And I picked IL to win today, and they aren't even playing.  I think I'm in bad shape now.

Jayne! You have too much to do to be sewing tablecloths! Don't you have a party store? There are lots of them in the larger cities here - Party City is one that comes to mind. We used paper tablecloths at both of the kids' wedding receptions - but  the quality was so good they didn't look like paper - and they come in every color you can imagine. They come in two pieces - the flat part that goes on the table, and the skirt that goes around the table to the floor - cost - around $5 per table. 

Also Jayne - I was talking to Lewis last night - I really want him to see Clay in a non-Christmas concert - so I am thinking about which other concert to go to. I was thinking Atlanta, because I love that venue so much, and because there is so much to do and see in Atlanta - we thought we might turn that concert into a vacation also - but I'm going where we can get the best seats, so we might just turn up in Florida. As I told Prissy, if Clay doesn't add another concert in this part of the country, the Nokia concert could sell out in 5 minutes - I would not be surprised at all!!! Everyone has hotel rooms (including me) and No Tickets!  :lmao

Tammy - I know you will be happy to finally have your test over!

Charlene - I know you will be glad when Spring gets to you and you can be outside in your yard.

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Pet owners were worried Saturday that the pet food in their cupboards could be deadly after millions of containers of dog and cat food sold at major retailers across North America were recalled.

Menu Foods -- a major manufacturer of dog and cat food sold under Wal-Mart, Safeway, Kroger and other store brands -- recalled 60 million containers of wet pet food Friday after reports of kidney failure and deaths.

An unknown number of cats and dogs suffered kidney failure and about 10 died after eating the affected pet food, the company said in announcing the North American recall.

Product testing has not revealed a link explaining the reported cases of illness and death, the company said.

"At this juncture, we're not 100 percent sure what's happened," said Paul Henderson, the company's president and chief executive officer.

However, the recalled products were made using wheat gluten purchased from a new supplier, since dropped for another source, spokeswoman Sarah Tuite said. Wheat gluten is a source of protein.

'Cuts and gravy' food sold in cans, pouches recalled
The recall covers the company's "cuts and gravy" style food, which consists of chunks of meat in gravy, sold in cans and small foil pouches between December 3 and March 6 throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico.

The pet food was sold by stores operated by the Kroger Co., Safeway Inc., Wal-Mart Stores Inc. and PetSmart Inc., among others, Henderson said.

Menu Foods said it makes pet foods for 17 of the top 20 North American retailers. It is also a contract manufacturer for the top branded pet food companies, including Procter & Gamble Co.

Proctor & Gamble announced Friday the recall of specific 3 oz., 5.5 oz., 6 oz. and 13.2 oz. canned and 3 oz. and 5.3 oz. foil pouch cat and dog wet food products made by Menu Foods but sold under the Iams and Eukanuba brands. The recalled products bear the code dates of 6339 through 7073 followed by the plant code 4197, P&G said.

Menu Foods' three U.S. and one Canadian factory produce more than 1 billion containers of wet pet food a year. The recall covers pet food made at company plants in Emporia, Kansas, and Pennsauken, New Jersey, Henderson said.

Henderson said the company received an undisclosed number of owner complaints of vomiting and kidney failure in dogs and cats after they had been fed its products. It has tested its products but not found a cause for the sickness.

"To date, the tests have not indicated any problems with the product," Henderson said.

FDA also working to target brands
The company alerted the Food and Drug Administration, which already has inspectors in one of the two plants, Henderson said. The FDA was working to nail down brand names covered by the recall, agency spokesman Mike Herndon said.

Menu Foods is majority-owned by the Menu Foods Income Fund, based in Ontario, Canada.

Henderson said the recall would cost the company the Canadian equivalent of $26 million to $34 million.

Below are lists of specific brands recalled by Menu Foods, in addition to Proctor & Gamble's recall of certain Iams and Eukanuba products. Menu Brands lists the brands on its Web site, www.menufoods.com, and advises consumers to call 1-866-895-2708 for more information.

I just ordered the grandaughters' Easter dolls - something I get them every year. This year's doll is so cute - long brown hair and holding a little basket full of Easter eggs. I hope they collect dolls all of their lives - it's a fun hobby. The dolls I order are only 8" tall - Madame Alexander dolls. They are expensive if you buy them from the company or from a toy store, but there are lots of on line discount sites!  :clap

It’s warm and sunny in Southern California. While walking my babies at the park this morning, we encountered a Pit Bull with no leash; God the darn thing scared the devil out of me. When he/she notices us, I yelled for its master, but the darn man did not hear me. I had to yell three times; by the time, he noticed us, his Pit Bull was already licking my hands. We were very lucky that we encountered a friendly one. I hate to admit that I’m terrified of Pit Bulls but with so many incidents’ I’ve seen of vicious Pit Bulls attack, it would be a mistake to think otherwise.


We got home and I started cleaning, I was in the middle of my dusting when I decide that it would be wonderful to listen to ATDW while cleaning. I had the volume all the way, up when I heard someone at the door-saying hello, and then my alarm system went off. I went to the front door and I saw a man with his hands up in the air saying, “I am not a bad guy, but I need your help.” My wife and I run out of gas, and I only need eight dollar to get us home, please in Jesus’ name lend a hand.” Then he picked up his shirt to show me a long wound still in stitches and told me that he had just come out from the hospital. He looks like a man with such a hard life that my heart broke just looking at him. I was cautious but gave him the money. My action might have been naïve but I feel good, if he was laying then shame on him. I do not think one can fake a wound and stitches. If so, then I need to go out there and explore the world.


Tiffany, when I first start posting at this thread, I remember you mentioned that you don’t plan to get married. What will you do, my dear, if Clay notices you, feel madly in love with you, and then ask you to marry him? I think I know what you would do, but I don’t want to know what Lorraine and the rest of us would do to you. :lol I’m only teasing you I hope you don’t mind. How many concerts are you planning to attend this year? I wish I can go to all three here in Southern California, but one is better than nothing. Thanks for the summaries and the prayer for us all.

Well I layed down for a while but I couldn't go to sleep so I just got back up and washed a few dishes that I had that were dirty and then went outside for a little while. There is a big old gator back in our little lake and they have had somebody out  there 3 or 4 times  trying to catch it for the last couple of weeks. I don't know if they have ever caught it or not. I didn't see it today. It is a lot cooler today. About 65 and is supposed to get down to about 45 tonight but then be back up to about 75 tomorrow.
I try not to upset the old man's routine. He fixes his maple and brown sugar oatmeal in his microwave and then sets it out to cool, comes over her for me to fix hi shair and then goes  home and eats his oameal and washes his bowl and then goes down to the clubhouse and gets his coffee. They have coffee for anyone who wants it down there every morninng.

Linda - I hope you have a granddaughter some day - I love buying dolls again. I think that is why I love Raggedy Ann dolls to this day. I had one when i was little. She got lost along the way somehow, but now I have a small collection of them (I love to find homemade ones at crafts fairs), and i buy them for the granddaughters sometimes, too. I don't think you are ever too old for dolls!

Just a quick hello!  Skip and I went to Sunday School, and then this afternoon, JoAnn, Jennie, and I went "hotel trekking."  We looked at some of the hotels where people are staying for the Texas Concert!!

We decided to change our reservations to the Crowne Plaza in Arlington because both AmeriSuites are going to be having construction, and the Grand Prairie one right during the concert, so..... now we will be with the majority of Claymaniacs!!  I let Frankie and Thea know about the change, so hopefully, they will be with us, too.

Tammy: In further tribute to your unfortunate circumstance of being near the bathroom because of what will be happening tomorrow morning, i thought i'd re-tell what i call a funny story. It's from country comedian, Jerry Clower, who lived from 1926-1998. I saw him in concert once...anyway, i have all his albums...anyway, i don't know this story word for word but i do have the punchlines of many of his stories memorized and so i'm re-writing the story of John Dunn but incorporating the same punchline...

JOHN DUNN
1986 by Jerry Clower

A man in the area where i grew up had a son who went off to New York. Well, this son was in town and was approached by a woman who asked a favor. She found out the man was going to New York and she told this man that when he got there, would he try and find her son, John Dunn, and ask him to write his mama a letter.

The son arrived in New York and found a building that said Dunn & Bradstreets. He said to himself "well, bless my soul, there's ol' Dunn right there!". He went in and met a woman sitting at a desk. The son asked: "is there a John here?".

~audience laughter...Clower's voice gets louder talking over the laughs~

The lady spoke up and said: "go down to the end of the hall, turn right...".

~audience laughter~

The son went down the hall and turned right. He walked inside and met a man in there. The son said: "are you Dunn?", the man said "yes i am" the son said: "your mama wants you to write her a letter!!". :lol :lol :lol

He ended the story with one of his famous hollars...i can't spell them out...it's basically a loud hollar. The ones who are familiar with Clower will know what i'm talking about :lol

I had a busy day.  After church, I had to go to the store to get some things to contribute to the fruit salad at our church dinner tonight.  Hubby, daughter, and young son went to older son's house to check on it.  Then we ALL went to the church function.  I told the kids that was supper.   :wink  I knew people at church would be happy to see young son since it has been a long time.

Got home in time to watch the finale of Grease.  Tiffany, I am sure you were watching it.  Did anyone else see it???  I won't comment until tomorrow morning, though, as it may be still on on the west coast, or others may have taped it.  I DID vote tonight, though.  I hope my favorite wins!!!

I'm waiting for hubby to get his clothes out of the dryer so I can put mine in.  I need to watch the weather tonight to see what kind of clothes to wear tomorrow.  I am tired.  I think I will go to bed early. 

I am sure enjoying having young son home.   :bouncy  He has decided not to work this week after all.  But he is going to Chicago Wed. and Thurs. to see friends and relatives, and has to go back on Saturday.  So I am going to spend as much time with him each evening that I can.  So I probably won't be around too much.  Wanted you guys to know where I would be.

   It's a beautiful morning here at 6am.   I'm getting ready to head back to work after a wonderful spring break!

Woody---count down, I know your spring break will be great!  Now, I only have 9 more weeks.  It will go fast.  I just wish that it was only 9 more weeks to 07-07-07 NOKIA!   Isn't that an awsome date to see Clay?  07-07-07!
  I know that many of you remember Carol, Lift Clay Up.  I feel that she will be on the front row in spirit at this concert.  It will be a year since her passing just days before this concert.  She had tried so hard to get Clay to come back to Texas.  I feel that she has had a part in this new concert.

   Sunny and in the 70's today  :bigsmile  I have to help the kids finish 4 science projects for the Science Fair this Thursday.  We have one finished! :para    I'm hoping that kids will be in a good mood today.  I don't want them to sleepy/tired, but neither to I want them hyped up.

I HOPE it's not a miserable Monday.   :lol  My friend Mary Kay and I just try to come up with something funny to put on our wipeoff board every day.  Miserable Monday seems right today...since it rained HARD all night.  It was hitting the window so hard, some of it had to be sleet.  It has died down now.  Just 50 degrees today and tomorrow.

I said today would be an easy day.  I just work a half day, and then Mary kay and I are transporting a student down to ISU, which is a little over an hour away.  Donna, being a Reading Recovery teacher, has to go to classes a few days a year, and each year she has to do a lesson with a student for her class, as do the rest of them in the class.  She has always gotten the parents' permission, and then taken the child down.   The principal said NO, it had to be two people.  Donna has to be there later, so MK and I are taking her down and bringing her back.  I should be back in time to tutor.  If we have time we can stop at Dairy Queen.   :wink

ANGELA - Yep, it is  :puke Monday.  The weekends go so fast.  The good thing for me is I have young son to come home to.   :bouncy  He is going to Chicago Wed. and Thurs. but is here the rest of the week.  I can ALREADY tell how much I will miss him when he leaves again.

Tiffany - I was s*rry to see Derek go home on Grease.  I think Austin did a better job last night.  I think Max overacts a bit, but the judges seem to like him.  I think both girls left are very good, but I really like Laura and voted for her last night.  I got in about 60 votes.  Her line was busy a lot, so I hope that is a good sign.   :cross  I don't think she was ever in the bottom two.

My son asked me if I wanted to go to the gambling boat tonight, now that he is 21. We have never been there.  I told him it was a school night, but maybe we could go for a short while.  Not sure.  But whatever we do, I will be spending my evening with him tonight and tomorrow night.  But he will be stuck watching Idol with me tomorrow.

Good Morning

This morning I have a quartet practice :violin and then my wedding professionals meeting.  My turn signals on my car have decided to not work! :eek I will have to get them checked on today.  I hope I don't get "caught" not signaling!!!

Yesterday was a "hotel" day.  JoAnn, Jennie, and I drove around to a few of the hotels near Nokia and were able to make reservations at the Crowne Plaza where most of the Claymaniacs are staying.  Now, I have 3 rooms there and 3 other reservations.  I have to remember which ones to cancel!! :bduh

Glory - :hugg :hugg It’s hard to lose a loved one, especially a dad. It will be six years this May I lost my dad, and I remember everything like it was yesterday too . . . Still hard to talk about, but remembering the good times, that’s a wonderful thing to do. :hugg . . . Like the time I accidently punched my dad in the face. :para :lmao I was in fifth grade, so I was nine or ten. He was taking me, brother Andy and sister Tina to school in the morning. It was winter, and it was very slick, especially on the curb, since it just formed like a slope thing after being plowed. Well, my dad was helping me down, I slipped, and my hand went flying and smacked him right in the face. :para He was cursing up a storm that morning, that‘s for sure. :lmao It wasn’t good at the time, but he laughed about it afterward, as does my family when we remember it. :smile

Laney sounds like Lucy. :lol One day, she was getting everyone to write their name on a piece of paper, I don’t know why, but she got everyone’s name. :lol And she adores art kind of things too (she looks at my sketches, and she goes, “Wow, Carla, that’s really good!” :lol and says she‘s my biggest fan :lol). We made Valentines for Valentines Day of course, sister Laura had cut out some hearts, and the three of us used glitter glue pens to write and draw (I made a I :heart Clay one, of course :lmao), and she nearly used all the glitter glue pens (it was a pack of 12 or 16 I think) on three or four hearts. :lol

The Easter basket you’re making sounds so spiffy. I bet Laney will love it. :bouncy

Linda, :giggle Yes, I’ve been being domestic lately. Soon I will wear an apron full time with pearls and have very flippy hair like in the 60’s. :lol :lol No, I just like to bake every now and again. I like to cook more, I’ve made up a few things of my own in fact. :bigsmile (watch The Food Network way too much, know how to do quite a few things :lol) The latest thing I came up with is a garlic sauce (which probably has been done before, but it was good :lol). It’s just basically onion, garlic (quite a bit :lol), olive oil, milk, little salt and pepper, little flour to thicken, and parmesan cheese (the Kraft powder stuff seems to taste better, though you can use others too :smile). It’s good for a pizza or pasta. :lol Made a pizza kind of dough without a recipe in fact the first time I made that garlic sauce. :lol Kind of scary, but it all turned out good. When you use it for pizza, mozzarella if quite spiffy on top. :yum :lol

You seem like a nice young lady, your dad would have been very proud of you. You are correct, it’s hard to lose someone that we love but the memories are always with us and remembering the good and sometimes the bad helps the healing process.

I have never watched the food network but my in laws watch it all the time. Perhaps I should give it a try and learn a thing or two about cooking. :lol

I’m glad the rain in your area has subsided. Be safe transporting a student to ISU, an hour is a long drive; your city is probably very pretty in the winter so enjoy the scenery.

Hi. It has been super busy at work today and it will be until the end of the semester. On Friday night I went to see the movie 300. It is really great, extremely violent though. And on Saturday I took Kris and her son to a baseball game. We had fun.

It looks like a great group going to Grand Prairie. This weekend I thought of how cool the 07-07-07 date is.  :lol I can't wait.  :bouncy

This day is just flying by!

I've been to the grocery store, and have Swiss steak going in the crock pot - another good crock pot recipe, if you've never tried it - dredge round steak (cut into portions) in seasoned flour - brown in a little vegetable oil, and put into the crock pot with tomatoes - I used tomatoes out of our freezer (put them in the blender because that is how Lewis prefers them), but you can also used canned tomatoes.

Carla -  :hugg I love to to "art" with Laney (hers always looks better than mine!  :lol ) She is artistic with food, too - when she decorates a cookie - stand back! - she is going to have it covered with icing and sprinkles - lots of fun to spend time with her - I know you feel the same way about Lucy (I'd like to see a picture of the two of you together). I love to watch the cooking channel - your sauce sounds really good (and creative - I would expect that of you!).

Linda - I will have to tell Amy (the blond in our family) that joke!  :roflmao Lewis said he bought that shirt because he knows how much I love "American Pie", and also because it was the only Katrina related shirt I could wear in public - he said that the people who make t-shirts in New Orleans (and most of the residents) do not like FEMA, and I wouldn't believe what was printed on some shirts!

By the way - just in case Clay announces a New Orleans concert - Lewis said that everyone in the city was just wonderful to tourists. The hotel did not have room service (he seldom uses it anyway), but all of the other ammenities  at the hotel were up and running.  He went (where else) to Pat O'Briens on St. Patrick's Day. Once you could get really good food there, but for now they are only a bar - beer and mixed drinks. But he said that many of the restaurants are open, even though some of the tourists things (like the aquarium) are not. I'm not sure that there would even be a place for Clay to perform, but I thought I wuld mention all of this, just in case. HE HAS TO COME TO LOUISIANA SOME DAY, DOESN'T HE?????  :para

dudley and others - Diane (aikenangel) from our site is coming with me to Grand Prairie, too. she does not post, but many people on our |Board met her in Atlanta (she and Amy kept me calm before my meet and Greet). O.K. - that is a lie - I was not calm!  :lmao Diane is traveling with a group of fans from the Baton Rouge/New Orleans area, but she will most likely stay with me and Amy. She has become a member of our family. Her grandchildren call her Nana, and Lewis refers to her as "Our Nana", even though she is around our age!  :lol Diane is the person whose home was badly damaged in Katrina - may of you sent prayers her way at the time. I hope all of you get to meet her.

Lorraine - Kaitlyn never tries that mouth thing with me or with Lewis, but she knows just how to push her Dad's buttons (and she enjoys doing to so much!). As I tell Son Lewis - I only hope that I am alive to see her at 16 - he will have his hands full!

I went to the quartet practice, :violin and then on to the Wedding Professionals Meeting where I had lunch.  We meet in a tea room at an antique mall.  I had a salad trio:  chicken salad, pasta salad, and fruit salad.

Hey!  My turn signals were not working at first when I left this morning, but I tried my flashing lights and they worked;  then my turn signals started working. So..... do I take something that is working to be repaired? :scratch  :bduh

I can't believe you have had more snow! :cold  We are well into Spring here;  everything is green and a lot of the trees are turning green;  some are a little slower.  The yard people are having to come every other week and they may start coming every week!  Temps in the 70's!!
We will miss Carol, for sure.  Carol was the one who did all the planning, too.

I just got a Google Alert that Gregory, the little boy who played Tommy during JNT2 has been diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes (was diagnosed during the Tour), and that he and his dog Kiwi (who is Raleigh's half sister  :lol ) are helping with fundraising to find a cure!

Lewis has gone to mow the grass at the office - guess summer is here (our grass here at the house could use mowing, too, but I'm trying to hold him off  on mowing so the grandchildren will have a place to hide Easter eggs! )

TAMMY, I am so very sorry you were sick last night.  It is really a shame that they can't change the way they do that test.  My husband had polyps removed also when he had the test but he hated it so much he won't go back again.  So happy you are alright!

We did make it to Indiana, and did attend the Aztar Casino for a while. Very crowded...LOVE Vegas a whole lot more!! I didn't win a thing...and I can't drink beer so much- and the whole "green" beer thing has never been a turn on for me...but it sure seemed it for many!

Just booked a hotel for April 4th in Cincinatti for the Cubs v Reds games on the 4th and 5th....I hope the weather holds out. I am actually looking forward to it!

Well I was surfing between DWTS and "24" but managed to get both in.  I just love watching DWTS.  I do have a few favorites already but I am sure they will change as the weeks go on.
