Being from Central IL, I have been waiting for an announcement of a Midwest concert, as well.  I just HAVE to believe Clay will be close to us this summer.  I sure would like to be able to go to a concert with all of you.   :bigsmile

I am planning to go to Raleigh, as are many Claymaniacs.  How about meeting up there???

Since there was nothing on, my kids and I watched "Return to Me" with David Duchovny and Minnie Driver.  Another one of my all time favorite movies.  If you have not seen it, you should rent it as soon as possible.

Actually, neither one of us wanted to be responsible for the choice !! Since our house is all white on the main floor as you know, color is a big choice !!!  :roflmao but we made a mutual decision thank god so it will be both or faults if it looks like sh*t !!

I will be going to Palm Beach to see Clay, it is so close. And I hope if things work out, like $$$$ that I will be able to meet up with some of my RTM sisters too. I have 3 trips already planned for this year and am trying to work out the expenses. So we shall see. They are all art related and a MUST go!!!!

Next week I will be in Washington D.C for one week so do not forget me. Maybe the hotel will have a computer so I can touch base.

Remember I was telling you about the Van Wezel performing arts center?? Wonderful news. The Youth Orchestra is going to play in Carnegie Hall this year. I have to find out more about it. That is another trip I would love to go to. Someday the two of us will take in a Symphony somewhere. We would enjoy that together!!!!!

My two feral kitties are starting to get a little friendly. One actually rubbed up against my leg today. I am having a traveling vet come over and give them their shots. I do not want to traumatize them again. Trapping them was very frustrating for them AND me. Tiger Lily and Wendy. My son is going to put a kitty door from the patio (where they live) into my print room. I only hope they do not get in the way of my etching or I will have 2 very, flat cats. :para :para

We have our occasional boarder, Drake, here for the week (my son is on spring break, and gone snowboarding for a week, so his orange tabby is our houseguest).    I was telling Michael that I don't think he feeds Drake enough cuz he looks like he's lost weight! (remember, I'm not officially a grandmother, but I can SOUND like one occasionally!) :wink

KAREN, good morning to you and yep I just put your hot pancakes on the table for you along with your hot steaming  :coffee.  I went out last night and piled a bunch of leaves on top of my tulips that are coming up.  I did that for the cold weather and thought they might be to tempting to the deer.  Is the weather nice an warm for your sister in New Mexico yet?  I love it there and wished I would have lived in the west.

Morning Shirley!!  Good idea, covering your tulips! Hope it saved them!  I don't plant tulips anymore, ever since the deer had them all for breakfast one day. :cry I miss having tulips!  The deer are really thick around her.  Last night, after my son had left around 11:00pm for the airport, I peeked out in the driveway, thought I saw a huge dog.  It was a deer.  He wasn't alone, either, soon there were 3 of them out there in the dark, I could see their outlines.  They were chewing on my privot hedge. :arg

JAN, I would love to "take in" a symphony with you someday.  If Palm Beach weren't so hot in mid-summer, Phil and I would love to fly down there for a Clay concert and a symphony concert---maybe someday.  Meanwhile, safe travels to Washington!

Wow - I don't post for a day and you go on to a new session.  I read back a little but didn't get everything read.

Hope I didn't miss anything.  I'm going to the Dallas concert and the Florida one. I'm going to spend some time with Bozena in Florida and I can't wait to meet Dudley.

Other than that, I haven't made any further plans. I'll check with Bozena and see if she wants to come up here for a while. We could probably drive to the Columbus one, but I'm not sure of the date of that one. I'll wait until they are all posted and see where I go from there.

Nothing really new in this household. I'm still baking. Yesterday I made miniature cream horns with puff pastry.

Hi Brenda!  :wave  Enjoy Cristien today!!

Wow!  A new home, a new day and some GREAT news in our family!  Sharon's (my niece) lymph nodes were cancer-free!  She has to take a hormone suppressant for 5 years, but it looks like she may not need chemo or radiation.  She'll find that out on Monday when they take out her drainage tubes (which she's REALLY looking forward to!).

So, thank you ALL for your prayers and positive thoughts!  Obviously, our group sends up some powerful prayers!

Woohoo!!  I'm a happy camper right now!  Now all we need is a Clay concert, huh?

KAREN, yep I do remember seeing that picure before but thanks for posting it again.  I just love the life style there in the west, seemed so different to me and I really liked the people.  My son lives in Cave Creek, Arizona and has wanted us to move there by him but I can not stand that type of heat.  I do better in the cold than severe heat.

THEA, glad you are getting out tomorrow evening. Just a couple of days left than we party!!!!!!!!!!!!

MARILYN, that is wonderful news about your niece, just wonderful.  Thank goodness no chemo!  Best wishes for her on a speedy recovery. 

Oh, that is so wonderful, MARILYN!  :cheer2 :cheer2  Did they stage the cancer at Stage I??? (Mine was Stage IIa). Based on my experience, chemo and radiation therapy ends up becoming a full-time job!  At Sharon (your niece's) stage in life, she definitely has more than enough on her plate.  (plus losing your hair at any age is no piece of cake... :bang)  Here's hoping all she has to take is the hormone suppresent (Tamoxifin is usually given to pre-menopausal women).  It has a few minimal unpleasant side effect, but it is definitely "doable".   I'll be starting mine probably in a week or two--probably something different such as an Aromatase inhibitator, which is given to post-menopausal women.  Well, anyway.....still hoping and praying that she can get by with no chemo and/or radiation!  I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

I was just reading my last post. Heavens, I'm going to have to start proof reading my posts. I do know how to spell "Florida" , honest!! And to misspell it twice - like once wasn't bad enough.

Well, just remember what I told you. I'm always in a hurry. Too much to do and so I very seldom proof read.

Shirley - I talked to Bozena this morning. She may come up here and then we will fly together to Dallas.

Karen - Do you live in Ohio or in the Southwest? I'm trying to keep you all straight , but so far, I'm only sure of Sharon in Canada and her Dad - Woody.  Then I know that Brenda has Christien sometimes. OK - , I 'll keep at it until I know all of you. Of course, seeing you at a concert would help :lol :lol

Shirley,  I really don't like extreme heat, either.  I remember a trip out west, we flew into Vegas and it was 105 degrees! (http://bestsmileys.com/hot/3.gif)  Couldn't wait to get into the mountains of Utah, which was actually our final destination!  (it was only 5 degrees cooler up there  :lol)   And Arizona is worse.  Was in Phoenix in August a year and a half ago, BIGGGGGG mistake!!!

Hi Thea - I think Sharon had that wrong. I don't think Shirley will fly to Dallas.

Bozena may  come up here and spend a few days with me and then we'll fly to Dallas, but the plans are tentative right now.

THEA, nope can't see spending the money for air fare for Texas for one night.  I am frugal!!!  I may be having to fly to Arizona so must keep my flying dollars in the bank. 

I am all showered, powdered, moisturized and clean jammas on.  No CLAY is not coming just getting ready to head for that king sized bed and lay on it and read with Pepe.  Hope everyone has a good restful night tonight.

I'm doing good.  It's quiet around here.  The kids are in bed, and Dave's asleep too. 

How is everything going with you?

I'm fine...I had aisalynn last night and all day today...she is feeling much better but still on that B.R.A.T. diet....but thank God she is at least playing a bit and the temp. is staying down....

I've been keeping my fingers crossed for a summer concert somewhere a bit closer..how about you ...do you have travel plans for a concert??..I just wish we could all get together...wouldn't that be great!

I've become very familiar with the B.R.A.T. diet.  I'm glad to hear that she is doing better.  Thank goodness for the temp staying down.  I just hope that it doesn't spike back up at night time. 

I would love to see Clay again this summer.  Travelling is out of the question, so I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed for a concert near by.  I would love for all of us to get together again. I had a really nice time at the Christmas concert.  Heck, I didn't even mind sitting by myself.  You're not suppose to talk during a concert anyway, so it didn't bother me any that I didn't know the person next to me.

Just heard that there is a problem with pet food. Several dogs and cats have died from some of the food. So far they are trying to pin down the source. Now I AM NERVOUS for my 4 cats. One store they mentioned was PETSMART. That is where I buy my catfood. Be Sure and listen for the news on the problem so you can check your pets food. Until I know, they are getting people food.

BETH, you are a sweetheart for posting that link about the dog food.  I had caught a little of it on the TV this morning and was trying to find out more about it.  I had just bought some cans of Mighty dog the chunks in gravy last week.  My dog is very finicky and thought I would try it.  He ate part of one can but refused to eat anymore of it the past few days, I am glad now he wouldn't eat it.

Shirley, thanks for the tea and coffee cake. Have you ever tried the pull apart breakfast rolls that you make the night before and let sit out. It's really easy, I think I gave you the recipe. It's made with Rhodes dinner rolls and it is simply scrumpious if your having company in the morning. Another one of those dishes that you make the night before and then just bake in the morning.

OK - everyone - I have my cleaning lady here, cleaning house for me and I'm making barbecued country ribs for Matt . then after that I'm going to make the lime cream filling and then I'm off to the shop.

In case you did not know by now. The contaminated pet food is only the moist kind. The dry food is ok.
Still feel a little insecure about feeding my 4 kitties. I am going to feed them "people " tuna for now. Now they will be really spoiled.

So many of you are enjoying basketball and hockey.  Others are spending time with family.  And I love to hear about food.  I even enjoy hearing about "eating out".  We really have our share of excellent cooks and bakers right here under our RTM mansion roof!  :bigsmile

My sister and I took Mom out to lunch (even tho' she protested).  She is at an Assistive Living Home and her legs are "wobbly", but we like to change her environment whenever we can!  A couple of people came to our table to say Hi to her and it was a nice change of pace.  I'll bet she will take a nap this afternoon ~  :tobed    She will be 93 years old on April 3rd.

Pepe - Grandma's doing a little better. She did manage to catch her arm right below her PICC line on the microwave door this week, so she has an extra bandage on. She had chemo a week ago last Friday and has a PET scan this Thursday. Then we'll know more about how long she'll have to go on with chemo. I will give her a hug for you.   :smile

Who in the world played this cruel joke on me????   :bang  The snow was almost all gone and I could see the grass and my flowers coming up and this morning I woke up to 2 inches of snow and blizzard conditions.  I am not a happy camper at all, plus my kitchen faucet is leaking all over and I can't use it hubby says.  This house is only six years old and the faucet is shot already??????   :bang  I will try and get myself together though to make your coffee!

We painted our living room  a color like a caramel color, it is called Rustic Tan but it looks like a caramel to me. Hubby stayed home today to work on the crown moulding which is causing him so much  frustration. To many angles in the room and the cuts aren't working.  He is very mad !!! :hypno :hypno He wants to go on with life and can't until this is finished !! :crazy :giggle

Hope all is well with everyone.  Am off to work - need to get some lines in this week for sure.  Sounds like you all had a great weekend.  We have a mix of snow and rain this morning but the roads look fine to me (I'm not going out to check, however).

Cristien went home last night - that is always so very depressing.  Next week will be the last week we get to see him on a regular basis as my son will be moving to New Jersey/New York right after that visit so the custody schedule is kaput!  She is not going to let Julie or me see him, that's for sure (she hates us).  Don't know how I am going to handle this.  It is so very depressing.  We will only be able to see him when Chris can get time to come home for a few days.  This so sucks!  Prayers please.

Awww, thanks for "missing" me,  DEBI and others!  I'm here...just crawling on the home stretch.  I've been dealing with insurance companies this morning.  I am so frustrated that a major insurance company like Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Illinois wouldn't cover certain essential procedures in the proper diagnosis and treatment of Stage IIa breast cancer.  The fun never stops.   :bang

Brenda - I'l say all kinds of prayers for you and your son that you get to see Chriesten when you want to. I know we get so angry when we are divorced but it's a shame the kids have to suffer for it.

Some asked (I think ydebi) why I was going to Philadelphia. Well, this time, it is not business. For three months of last year, my daughter had to fly there for four days each week, so I went up with her a few times. Now we are going up for the day, just for pleasure and pampering. We'll spend the day, get our nails done, our hair colored and we're hoping to get in a massage too. Then we'll go out to dinner and drinks. It will just be a fun girls day with my daughter.

I'll work tonight and leave early and go over to my daughter's . Sleep over and then off to the airport.

Ann - I've never made a chocolate chip cookie or snickerdoodles and cinnamon cookies. I don't know how. So far, I have the following cookies made: Miniature nut rolls, miniature cream horns , lemon cream cups, walnut cups, caramel cups , lime cream cups and miniature cherry cheesecakes.  I like to keep cookies handy for events that could come up (like showers and graduations).

Shirley - So sorry about your plumbing problems.  I have to tell you that I think it is a plumbing code to glue pipes together.  So sorry about all your problems though.  Can you check with who ever did the plumbing job on your house?  Maybe the faucet has a life time warrenty and it will be covered.  It will depend on the brand and type of faucet you have.

Poppin  in to say hi -- finally got my work finished today (made up for missing half a day on Friday because Cristien came in) so I'm back on track.

Off to get some din-din and get comfy for DWTS -- all you need to call your cable companies and get the DVR boxes that most of them offer.  You can probably record two shows at a time and watch something else live if need be.  DVRs are wonderful because you can watch your shows when you have the time and opportunity and are not a slave to the tv schedule. 

Who asked about Grease?  Love that show - such talented young people  I didn't vote because I like all four of the finalist (although I think I lean toward Max and Ashley - less sure about Sandy).  I will be both sad and happy with the outcome and also sad that it is over.  I wonder how they do another season for this?  Hmmm.

No news on a concert site for us midwesterners yet -  :bang  Come on, Clay, give us something to look forward to.

PS - have to agree about AI - terribly boring this season.  I think they need to replace the judges who picked these finalists in the first place!

Good Evening everyone!!!

Well the faucet is fixed, the sink drain is draining at least for now it is fixed.  Took most of the day but hubby fixed it!!!  He thought he had both fixed and than it all fell apart so he had to start all over again.  So I finally got breakfast dishes done in the dishwasher and started making my cookies about 3:00 this afternoon.  Hey SHARON we had a light supper tonight to some vegetable soup out of the freezer and a hamburger!!!

THEA, I know you are going to have a fantastic time in Texas seeing CLAY and all the Claymaniacs that are going to be there.  How wonderful you will get to see so many of our group there. 

Well I am going to head off and take my shower and get my bed all ready to jump into tonight, and get ready for DWTS.  See you all in the morning with the coffee brewing!!

BARB, I had the shingles about 8 years ago.  It was horrible!!  I had it  down the center of my back and couldn't sleep, couldn't wear a bra (that wasn't so bad), and my back is still sensitive.  Sometimes it burns and is very sensitive to the touch.

CHRISIE, Horray the mouldings are up.  I bet your hubby has a great feeling of accomplishment.  Those mouldings add so much to a room.

Hey, the sun is shining and today is the first day of Spring -- rise and shine everyone!  

Hi Chrisie (are you still here?)  Glad your moldings are all up.  Boy, your house must be looking pretty spiffy by now - so much redecorating lately.  Oh, to be young again!

DWTS - so glad it's back.  Joey was great as was Apollo.  I can't believe no one mentioned him (no Olympics fans?- he was a favorite and so exciting to watch)  He's a real cutie and I will be rooting for him.  Surprised by John (Cliff), too - much better than I expected - yep, hope he hangs around for awhile, too.  I'm with the rest of you - bye, bye Heather.  Gotta hand it to her,  she surely is brave and not because of her leg (I'm sick of hearing about her leg - we know already).  I think she's brave to think anyone would actually vote for her after what she is doing to Paul - dont' mess with icons girl!  I did feel kind of sorry for her - she looked so very uncomfortable.  So did Billy Ray and I so wanted him to be good - oh well.  I think either he or Heather will go tonight, probably Heather since I can't see anyone voting for her, even if she were good which she wasn't.  I also was surprised by Leesa Gibbons - expected her to be better  Ian was pretty good too but I'm not sure he can overcome Joey's charm, humor and great personality or Apollo's sweet cuteness - he is a superstar Olympian with lots and lots of groupie types.   Ali's daughter was pretty good and everyone loves her dad - that should keep her around for awhile, too - she deserves to hang around anyway, in my opinion.  The rest of them were rather unforgettable but it was the first night -- we'll see.  That's my review.  Go Joey and Apollo!  (Sorry, Sharon, we can't vote for Cheryl)  PS - Miss USA's partner  was rather obnoxious IMO - very full of himself - a No-No - won't be sorry to see him go and he isn't even a contestant.

PS - did anyone else watch the American Ballroom championships on PBS the past few weeks?   Tony won the Rhythm portion championship - did not take the overall championship, however.  Was very interesting - it was on for several weeks on Saturday night (at least in our area - didn't find it until it was half over but enjoyed what I did see).

Pepe, glad hubby got your sink fixed - just a taste of Becky's problem there.  BTW, I don't think the pipes are supposed to be glued.  I have a relatively new home too and mine certainly are not.  I can take them apart myself (and have a few times when it got clogged).  I don't even need a wrench to take mine apart - no leaking either.

I'm SO sorry for your mom!  That is VERY painful!  Happy had them a few years ago, and then him mom had them last year.  She was so uncomfortable, she had to be taken to the hospital a couple of times for the pain.  I hope that your mom doesn't have them as bad as MIL did. 


Sharon - I liked Joey, and the last guy I think his name is Apollo Ono? (the skater)  Ian could be good given a bit more time.  None of the ladies did it for me. 
As for Billy Ray,   :bduh  What was he thinking???   I think he should go 1st, but I know he won't.  He has a BIG fan base.  (sorry Chrisie - I still like him for his song Achy Breaky though.  ha ha )

Becky - We did buy a new computer this past December.  Our old one crashed!  We took it to a friend of ours who was going to try to save it so we could use it for that reason.  I haven't heard from him though.  I will have to give them a call.  Thanks for the reminder. 

Daughter is now into a game that she plays on the computer.  It's WAY to hard for my computer brain.  I don't know if anyone here has heard of it.  It's:  Weffriddles.com
Way beyond me.  Both my daughters are into it though and love it. 


Chrisie - I think that I have found a good an excuse not to exercise.  I have been having some problem with my one foot hurting on the heel.  I went to the podiatrist last night.  Found out I have a bone spur and the ligament is pulling away from the bone.  He told me not to do the tread mill thing.  I told him that I don't have one, but I had gone out walking now that the weather is getting nicer.  I was trying to get back into the habit again.  I always feel better when I get some regular exercise.  Now it will have to wait maybe another month.   :bang  Here I was trying to get my act together!

Good morning my friends. Again I have been MIA. Sorry. I have been so busy and yet again I have over done it and I am paying the price. When will I ever learn?? I painted my living room and den. It looks great but was a lot more work than I thought it would be. I don't think I wourked that hard doing the whole basement.
Well tonight will be bitter sweet. Brandon plays on the Red Wing ice at the Joe Louis Arena but it is his last game. He has played on this same team for over 16 years with the same coaches and some of the same players. If anyone is free tonight the game is at 8:15 and it is free and we park in the VIP lot which is also free tonight. Debi is going with us. Usually there are a few of the real Red Wings there and the kids get to use their locker room. It is quite a big deal and a great honor to play there. The trophy is fantastic.
I am waiting here, not to patiently, for the dealership to call for me to come pick up my new car. I don't want to start anything and have to stop and run out, plus I want it all done in time to eat dinner and head out to the game.

Yep, there will probably never be anyone as good as Mario was -- wish he could come back every year.  Sharon, Apollo's headband/kerchief is kind of his trademark but maybe he will take it off as time goes by.  He is just adorable, isn't he? Seems like a really nice kid and top-notch competitor.  I think it will be between him and Joey in the long run (Ian will be in the mix as well.)  My predictions! 

Great news in case any of you have been following the missing Boy Scout in North Carolina - he has been found alive and well - incredible after four days in the woods in the freezing weather.  Some things do actually end well.

Well, ladies, finished my required lines early today.  Want to go see my girls tonight if they are going to be home.  Haven't seen them since Saturday and it's about time.  Just wish Cristien lived there too.

Hi ladies...just wanted to say hi before I take a nap.  I was frustrated to hear from the radiologist today that my last treatment will be on FRIDAY instead of THURSDAY.....Apparently he decided to add an extra "boost" to my treatment plan.  Oh, well, so it's still 3 more and counting.... :hypno

So happy to hear that the little Boy Scout was found.  Both of my sons were very active in the BSA growing up and are, in fact, both Eagle Scouts, so I always have had a special place in my heart for Scouts.

MARY, congrats on your new "wheels".  Enjoy!

American Idol was better tonight!  I really like Jordin the best at this point, but some of the others had great performances. 

My Mom seems to be doing quite fine.  She is on a mild pain reliever.

So I finally watched AI this season. Guess it's no surprise that you have already mentioned my favorites tonight. Blake, Chris Sligh, Jordin and Melinda. The show was surprising to me because I loved it tonight. There is quite a variety of performers among this group, and they all seemed to be having fun. Well, almost all. Sanjaya has got to go, but millions of little girls will be voting for him. Chris Richardson is pretty good, but he wasn't the performer the others were tonight.

Carolyn, you and your kids are the reason AI is so popular. There aren't too many things on tv these days that you can enjoy with your kids. Sounds like you had fun.  :bouncy  Lakisha's song tonight didn't excite me, but she has the pipes and she looked awesome, no matter what Simon might have thought.

Barbara, Jordin's song seemed too short tonight, but it was because I was hanging onto every note. She was outstanding.

If Lakisha weren't representing Flint, MI, I probably wouldn't vote for  her, but our poor state needs all the love it can get, especially since the media depicts us as being one big unemployed ghetto dump where nobody is happy and everyone is committing crimes.  She hasn't hit a wrong note yet, however, and does sound incredible.  I thought she did a great job on that song and had the gestures down and everything.

I did enjoy Sanjaya tonight, which is why I was doing the groupie thing.  The little girls in the audience are why Sanjaya is still here.  Both my kids wanted me to vote for him.  (Sorry, can't do that).  I really do ask myself if I would buy the CD, and I wouldn't buy his.  He is ADORABLE, however, and he probably enjoyed the teenybob worship tonight.

Believe it or not, my kids don't like Melinda. They don't like her eyes for some reason.

I have a lot of different opinions about all the singers....tonight my favorite was Jordin...I enjoyed her performance... Debi, Chrisie and Becky,  I agree with you about AI last night.  Jordin was my very favorite!  She is amazing, and I think she could be an excellent actress if her career went that way (like Jennifer Hudson), because she sure put a lot of emotion into that song!  I'm enjoying watching Haley get some confidence, too.  She keeps getting better, which is why I hope she stays another week or 2 at least.  On the other hand, Stephanie choked IMO last night, and didn't like last week either, so she seems to be going downhill.  And you guys figured out for me why Melinda looks stange to me.  At first I thought it was that she has too big of a face for her body (anyone remember Chandler dating the big-face girl from his office on Friends? :lol)  But it's the no-neck thing, THANK YOU for clearing up that little mystery for me! :wink

AI - I feel so vindicated - I have liked Jordin from the beginning and I so hope she wins.  She is really talented.  Blake is the only male in the group whom I feel has a chance to make it and I think he will make it pretty big - cute, talented and very "with it."  Melinda's performance is always touching and terrific but I just can't see her as an Idol - hope we are not throwing out a valuable Clayball here (thanks Chrisie).

Well, ladies, prayers please.  I developed a very bad toothache yesterday (a 9-1/2 out of 10).  Had to call my SIL at work last night who prescribed pencillin and Vicodin (which really helped).  I am very certain I have an abscess - just called the dentist and am on my way now to see him - later,

Beth,  that happened to my once while cleaning a bathtub! It took 2-3 days to feel sorta back to normal.  Even then, my back was sensitive to certain ways I would lean over.  You will have to really watch it for awhile, so be careful!!

Does it feel better to stand and lay down rather than sit?  I couldn't get up from a sitting position!

Hi Everyone - Did you miss me? Well, I missed all of you!!!!!

I had a great time. Came home happy but a whole lot poorer :lol :lol :lol

We started out and I bought a new pair of sandles, (i have a bad foot so my shoes are very expensive) then we went to a place called Pietro's for lunch. We had a cesare salad and an appetizer that was portabella mushrooms stuffed with spinach, ricotta cheese, romano cheese and mozzerella cheese topped with bread crumbs. Absolutely fabulous!!!!!

After that we went and got our hair done. My daughter got a manicure and pedicure while I was having my hair cut and colored. Then we went shopping again.

Debbie bought two pair of shoes and a pair for her son. Then back to the hotel (crown plaza) for a shower and change for dinner. Philly, we love Amada with the tapas so that's where we went. I love the way they serve little portions of everything.  We must have had four different things and all were delicious.  We were so tired and full by this time that we went back to the hotel and tried to keep our eyes open during AI. Needless to say, we never made it through and fell asleep during the last 15 minutes. 

We got up this morning, left for the airport. Tired, a lot poorer, but happy.  We can't wait to go again.  So that was my exciting day.

I missed all of you and , shirley, every time I had a cup of tea, I thought of you.

B. sorry about the tooth :bang one of THE worst pains I have ever felt in my life was an abcess.  I was having 25 people over for my girlfriends 50th BDay :para my dentist took me right away too to drain it, and the show went on :lmao
Well I went looking for bunny ears and tail today :bang no tail yet, but I'll keep looking, most of the bunny ears are on a headband with teeth, and very small as they are for children~~~~~  don't anyone jump on that one :lol I know :naughty so they'll have to be wrapped, or poor Woody won't be able to take the teeth in his tender little noggin' :hugg

The techs were so sweet to me today, since this was the last day I would be seeing all of them (2 are off for the rest of the week).  We shared a lot of hugs and some tears, and they gave me a beautiful vase of fresh daffodils. I'm hoping to get Phil to take a picture of me (with my new salt and pepper fuzz on my head   :wink) holding the flowers.  I also hope to take a few pictures of the techs.  I have grown so close to them....I call them my little angels...I will be giving each of them a Willow Tree angel with the message "I'll remember you".   And I will....remember their laughter, their kindness, their gentle touch and the manner in which they enabled me to retain some semblance of dignity in some very undignified circumstances.   Plus, if time and energy allow, I also will be burning some "Best of Clay" CD's for them with my favorite songs.

Ladies, I need some advice.  I'm a little freaked out right now and am not quite sure how to handle this.  Maybe it is nothing but here goes.  I was reading an article on Comcast about a 6 year old boy in GA that was killed by a neighbor registered child molester.  It really had me scared because Nathan is 6.  So, I did a search for registered sex offenders in my area.  This is what I found out.....a father of one of the boy's in Nathan's class is on that list.  Do I tell the other mothers? Is it something? Is it nothing? What do I do? Oh, and Nathan said that they are Not friends.  Thank goodness.

I would tell, Beth.  Nothing is more important than our children.  On the other hand, I would make sure to caution other parents that they don't want the kid in Nathan's class to be punished for his father's crimes.  You don't want kids in the neighborhood picking on him.

Also, does it say why he is a sex offender?  If it is pedophilia, that is a different problem than if he was guilty of assaulting his girlfriend or something.  Not saying either is okay, just different concerns.

Beth  . . . . That is so scary.  I know that the list is to be available to the public. I wish I had advice for you, but I wouldn't know what to do. I know that the sex offenders cannot be housed within a certain distance from schools, parks, etc.  On our local TV last night, they showed pictures of 2 sex offenders who were released from prison but were locating in the Green Bay area.  They were going to be on some electronic anklet bracelet. Do you know if the person you are speaking about is under any surveillance?  I would be worried that a classmate would go to the home to play with the little boy.  Would it help to talk to the teacher or someone in law enforcement for advice? That, at least, would assure that you were not personally attacking the offender.  Sorry that I'm no help!

I do have a comment regarding your back, however. Doctors usually advise patients that they can remain active rather than lying down.  They suggest an anti-inflammatory (like Ibuprofen) and to avoid lifting.  Yipes  . . . Since I was no help with your one concern, I felt I wanted to help your back feel better.  :blush

ETA:  Carolyn's post regarding what his crime actually was makes a good point!

Beth, I'm with Carolyn - the lists usually say for what offense the person is on it.  If he is a pedophile I absolutely would inform all the parents in his class.  Julie had that happen in Caity's nursery school class and she made a flyer which she gave to everyone.  You would hope everyone is checking their own lists but you would feel just horrible if someone let their child go to play with this man's child and ended up being molested.  That's the price the man has to pay and it's a small one, IMO.  -- BTW, hope your back gets better fast.  I know how badly a back pain can  be.

Sharon, if you can't find a real tail, go to the bath department and get one of the scrubbies (I don't know what to call them).  You can fill it up with cotton or use it as is.  It would work, I think.  OR, you could get a small styrofoam ball and cover it with cotton (don't sit on it for goodness sake).  I'm sure you will figure something out.

Evelyn, sounds like you had a busy but great time.  You can sleep now. 

Well, ladies, I got some very bad news at the dentist's office.  I have an abscess but that's not the worst of it.  The tooth infected is my wisdom tooth, is holding a bridge and he doesn't think the wisdom tooth is worth saving.  Furthermore, my bone underneath the bridge has shrunk so he may not even be able to put in implants - we will have to see.  In any case, it is going to cost a bloody fortune (no kidding) and of course I have no insurance -- wouldn't you know.  I need to win that lotto badly.  Please pray that there is enough bone to do the implants.  I can have a partial plate there (that is cheaper) so all is not lost.  He is a terrific dentist so I do trust him and know he will do the very best thing he can.  Sure wish I still had insurance.   :bang :bang :bang

Thea, Friday sounds good (that is the day they are supposed to pull my wisdom tooth so I hope I am feeling up to coming).  Am so excited for you!  Cannot even imagine how relieved and excited you must be to finally be done with this and be well.   :clap

Off to lie down for awhile - my tooth is still hurting and I don't want to take a Vicodin unless and until I really have no choice.  The Aleve is taking the edge off but that's about it at this point.  I'm on penicillin (double dose) so it should be feeling better once that brings down the  infection some.

Update on the job situation (thanks for asking :hugg)

There is no real update.  Our contract has been extended by the City of Detroit until April 30, however, they will begin "hiring" and "job shadowing" for their employees soon.  I believe I will be safe no matter what happens as my bosses have informed me I am a "core" employee.  I have interviewed with the city for 2 different positions but no one has heard anything yet.  I have also sent out my resume to a few select places.

It is all in God's hands.  In him I trust.

Beth - Can I make a suggestion on this?  Please check out the offence if at all possible.  I may be wrong, but I think that if a man was caught 'relieving' himself outside, he could be on that list too.  Not necessarily a 'sex offender', but a person caught with his pants down for another reason. 
I too checked out the list in our neighborhood a few years ago and found out that my neighbor 2 doors down was on the list.  My daughter was a friend of his daughter too!  I was just as freaked out as you are.  I told my daughter about it and explained to her why I wasn't comfortable with her hanging out with her.  I asked her if she was aware of the list and she knew what I was talking about.  She had talked to her friend and found out that he was caught 'relieving' himself (after going to a game I think).  Not right what he did, but not what I call a 'sex offender' either. 

Well, I can't stay right now.  Have to get a few things done now that AI is over.

If it has to do with children, he wouldn't be allowed near them b/c he would be breaking all the " rules " for his release, so I find it hard that he would be with his kids. I think that I may know the reason why he is on this list.  It might possibley be something that happened a long time ago, but his name is still on the list.  The way I understand it, is that he was with someone who was a minor and he was not.  May have been an old girlfriend or something. 

I will find out more tomorrow, but I feel a whole lot better.

Actually, you can be on the sex offender's list for all kind of reasons.  If he was a 20 year old caught with a 16 year old, I think he could be on the list (statutory rape).  I bet ANN knows a lot, since she is our legal eagle.

For those of you that asked I got an Impala, I like it but I still loved the Malibu more. The Malibu had a few extra goodies that the Impala just doesn't have. It is a sharp looking car though.

Thank you all for your excitment about Brandon"s games. I don't think he is going anywhere else with Hockey, he has been scouted for both Hockey and football and has not done a thing with any of the offers. He is not ambitious. I am proud of his acheivements but disappointed in his lack of drive.
We will still have Bryan and his football to enjoy this yeat then we will just have to wait and see what Maddie decides to get involved in. Knowing her it will be football or hockey too. She is a tough one.

I'm trying to stop in more often.  I can't always do that her at work, but I'm trying.   :bouncy

I have to agree with the ones that mentioned AI6. It just is not interesting to e. I don't know what it is, but I don't think any of the males are any good and there are only a few females. No time to read back right now, but I just wanted to say thank you to the 3 very special ladies--DEBI, MARY and PEGGY--who just made my day today!  :bouncy I was feeling down about the news that Elizabeth Edwards' breast cancer has metastisized to her bones.  Also, coincidentally, I received a very, very belated "Christmas" letter from some acquaintances who never cease to amaze me with their lack of humility.  Every time I get one of their letters about their perfect lives, children, grandchildren, etc., I have to go through a major attitude readjustment.  :bang :bang

BUt...once I opened the package with the "Peeps" t-shirt (thank you-it fits!!  :bouncy) and the very beautiful hand-made card with the sweet notes from these 3 wonderful RTM sisters, I felt so wonderful and so blessed.  Thank you, ALL OF YOUR DEAR LADIES, for being my strength and for also being special angels in my life.  I don't know how I could have gotten through these several months without all of you.   I know I've said this many times, but I want you to know that it truly comes from my heart.  This is a very, very special group of women who have been brought together for a very important reason.  RTM SISTAH POWER!  :ghug

Now I must go....After my TTZ, I have to walk across the hall of the clinic to see my oncologist.  I guess he is going to be prescribing my estrogen-suppresor medication that I will probably be taking for the rest of my life.  But that's OK, it's a small price to pay for being a breast cancer survivor!

ALSO, please read my quote from Elizabeth Edwards at the end of my post.  Although I'm not politically aligned with John and Elizabeth Edwards, I have nothing but the greatest love and admiration for both of them as human beings.

Did anyone here watch AI the other night with the young girl crying while listening and watching Sanjaya? It was on the radio this morning that the LA Times interviewed her about that very incident.  When she was asked who her favorite is, she said that she has 4 favorites.   She apparently was there before the show and listening to them ALL rehearse.  She was even crying then.  The producers saw her do this and asked her to stay for the show and put her up close and personal with the stage.  She cried throughout the WHOLE show, but the camera men only showed her crying during Sanjaya singing!  :bang :bang :bang  Don't you just love editing!  :bang :bang :bang

Beth, I finally watched AI last night and they did show the girl crying quite often during the show. She was really crying hard while Melinda sang. She was also on the TV Guide show where they talk with people waiting to get in before the show. They didn't talk to her directly, but to the group she was with. She was awfully cute.

Kudos to debi, Mary and Peggy for the awesome surprise for our awesome Thea!!!!!  Thea, when I heard about Elizabeth Edwards, I immediately thought of you and the thoughts that might be going through your mind. As you know, every case is different, and you are a real fighter. If I remember correctly, she put off getting treatment while her husband was campaigning. You came out swinging.  :clap :clap :clap

Shirley, we had the same storms all night. We actually spent two hours on the highway in that weather, and once we got north of Clare, the fog was awful!!!!! The temperature was 57 when we left Lansing and 31 when we got home. My water measurer showed we got two inches of rain in the last 24 hours. Our snow is almost gone.

Me again. My daughter had surgery this morning to remove six screws and a metal plate from her ankle. Some of the screws were loosening up and one was wiggling and protruding from her ankle. I told her that no one can tell her that she has a screw loose anymore.  :bigsmile   :giggle   :sonic

THEA, it is funny where everyones minds went when the news of Elizabeth Edwards came on the news.  Of course we all thought about you and what you were thinking.  My self I thought gee I hope Thea doesn't see this.  I was really shocked as I have always for some reason been attached to Elizabeth.  She seems so warm and kind and shall I say normal!!!  When I seen her today I couldn't get over how much weight she has lost but she looked very pretty and younger looking than she did last year.  I am so sorry as she has those two young children but to undergo a campaign for two years it seems like it would be impossible with the treatments she will undergo.  I wish her the best!  I love the woman!!!

BECKY, that must have been scary driving home at night in that pounding rain.  Yep we are flooded here around the house and the ducks who have come home to nest are having a ball swimming in the yard.  The geese are back today to, they are honking at each other trying to get their territory settled on for their nesting.  I love spring and all the babies who will be born soon.  Glad you made it home safely, and by the way fog is the worst and so scary at night!!

Thank you for the hugs and congratulations!!!  I'M DONE!!!!  We shared some very special, girly, weepy moments together at the Radiologists office today.  It is too close to my heart for me to go into detail, but the connection and friendship we shared together was almost of a celestial nature.  I'm so glad I gave them each  angel, because they truly have been that to me.  They told me I brought lots of laughter and happiness into their day, and that they will never forget me.  I so feel the same way. 

It all makes me realize that we are here on this earth to reach out and touch and hopefully bring some light into each other's lives.  I am a better person for having gone through this experience.

Phil and I went out to lunch after my appt.  Went to Bennigan's.  Nothing fancy, but the atmosphere is always great there.  We drank and toasted one another with root beer out of bottles...Living dangerously, eh???? :lol :lol :lol

Okay girls hold the doors open so I can start bringing the food in.  I have been cooking all day long. 

I have made 10 slabs of barbequed ribs, oven roasted potatoes, stuffed cabbage, veggies and dip, stuffed grape leaves, shrimp with cocktail sauce, fresh strawberry cheesecake, chocolate mousse and a variety of cheeses and crackers!  I think that should hold you all till breakfast!  I will leave the drinks to PHILLY!!!!!

Hope you enjoy your party tonight THEA!  You are such a special woman and we love you very much.  I know it sounds odd to love someone when you have never seen them but not really as I got to know who you are and your heart without laying eyes on you.  Sometimes I think that is better.  You can sleep well tonight knowing no more treatments next week.

I just returned from having my back checked out at the dr.  I was given an anti-inflammatory, pain reliever, and muscle relaxer.  Hope it helps!

Thanks so much for stopping in, LORA!  :hugg  I decided to post my journey through my breast cancer treatments as a form of a journal for myself.  Now I'm wishing I had copied them into an online journal as I went along.  One of these days I'm going to go back through past posts and assemble them all into a little book just so I can go back and read and learn from the experiences I wrote about.

And you are so right.....I am planning to celebrate each and every day in my victory.  Nothing is certain in life, so it's important to try to enjoy as many moments as possible!!!!

It was magical those two nights. I've never really been to NC, so it will be an adventure. Susy knows better. I told her she better not make me smack her the first time I see her.  :lol

Great questions, LORA!! (Have you ever considered a career as a news reporter???  :lol)  As our PEPE knows, my favorite song at the beginning of radiation was "Everything I Do".  Pepe would play it for me at her home every day at 1:00 just so I could feel her good vibes.  Thank you, PEPE.  :hugg  After a while, the radiation techs and I decided that "All is Well" is our theme song.  In fact, one of them put it on for my last treatment today.  And I sang it at the top of my lungs while I was being zapped!!!! Then they came back in after my treatment was over and we hugged and cried and it was amazing!!

During my chemo, I found myself listening a lot to ATDW, of course as well as Sarah Brightman's "Classics" album and Andre Bocelli's "Amore Album".  I would find myself playing Sarah Brightman's "Pie Jesu" over and over again during my chemo.  It seemed to take all of the fear away as I watched that wretched IV filled with chemo drip, drip, dripping into my veins.  Music is a great soother of the soul!!!

All I can say is, woman...you get around!!!!!  :sonic  And please smack SUSY for me, as well.  I just love her to death, though, and she knows it!!!

I can only imagine the singing at the top of your lungs!! :lol

Thanks so much, MAR!   :hugg All I can say is I couldn't have gotten through this without my RTM and other Claymaniac Peeps!!!!  Seriously, I was able to share feelings and impressions that I didn't feel comfortable sharing with a lot of my RL friends. I found myself needing to keep a stiff upper lip and appearing in control in RL.  :bduh  Only my dear hubby, my 2 wonderful sons and a couple of my closest friends and all of you were in my "inner circle" during this time.  I truly mean it.   :ghug
