Today I got a call from the aide in his room. Seems he hit the right side of his head on the desk. When she checked him out (no school nurse today :para ) she found another bump on the left side of his head. When she asked him what happened he shrugged his shoulders and said 'I don't know'  :shrug So we asked him when he got home and I felt his left side and sure enough there was a bump. He said "Mommy that's where my head hurts." I said "Is that where you hit it on the desk?" and he said "I don't know?" :blink

Ha!  We watched The Guardian last night!  I don't like Ashton Kutcher, but I really enjoyed the movie.  It was good.  I think you'd like it.  Yes, I'm watching World Trade Center right now.  It's very sad, naturally, but not as powerful as I thought it would be.  Especially given that I lost a friend that day.  It could be Nicolas Cage.  I like him, but he's just weird in this role IMO.  And his attempt at a NYC accent is distracting.  I think they'd have been better off to stick with unknown actors for a movie like this.

Kris I haven't seen it yet. But my MIL has it, so I'll have to borrow hers. David has a d/l from youtube which is dedicated to the firefighters and rescue personel from Sept. 11th. It is so moving it makes me cry everytime I watch it.

MAMMOGRAMS

Many women are afraid of their first mammogram, but there is no need to worry. By taking a few minutes each day for a week preceding the exam and doing the following exercises, you will be totally prepared for the test and best of all, you can do these simple exercises right in and around your home.

EXERCISE ONE:

Open your refrigerator door and insert one breast in door. Shut the door as hard as possible and lean on the door for good measure.

Hold that position for five seconds. Repeat again in case the first time wasn't effective enough.

EXERCISE TWO:

Visit your garage at 3AM when the temperature of the cement floor is just perfect. Take off all your clothes and lie comfortably on the floor with one breast wedged under the rear tire of the car. Ask a friend to slowly back the car up until your breast is sufficiently flattened and chilled. Turn over and repeat with the other breast.

EXERCISE THREE:

Freeze two metal bookends overnight. Strip to the waist. Invite a stranger into the room. Press the bookends against one of your breasts.

Smash the bookends together as hard as you can. Set up an appointment with the stranger to meet next year and do it again.

YOU ARE TOTALLY PREPARED!

   He looked over his shoulder and smiled. He turned back and walked back to her. He leaned down. “Good-bye.” He whispered before catching her lips.
   Ann slid her hands over his shoulders and pulled him closer before she snaked her tongue into his mouth.
   Parry felt his stomach squirm with excitement and pleasure. He almost crawled back into bed but she pulled away before he could follow through with it.
   She kept him close as she leaned up to his ear. “I’ll be waiting for you when you get home.” She informed in a seductive whisper before kissing the hollow of his jaw. She let her hands slip off his shoulders and explore down his chest before she stood.
   “Have a good day, babe.” She offered before kissing his cheek.
   Parry smiled slightly, wondering if she knew what she had just done to him.

 :wave  Hello Everyone.

I'm dropping in tonight to ask for prayers for a sweet young girl named Rachel.  She's been a really close friend of Kandise's for several years now, and like an adopted daughter to me.  Rachel's mother is a Diabetic and she suffered a stroke about a year ago which left her with many physical and emotional handicaps.  She's had great difficulties ever since.

Tonight Rachel showed up at our house, eyes red and swollen and her face white as chalk, and said, "My mom is dying today.  They said she won't make it through the night."

Apparently she'd suffered another stroke.  Rachel was only here for about 30 minutes when her father called her back up to the hospital, telling her it was happening.

She called shortly after to tell us she barely made it back in time to be with her mom when she died.  Her mother passed away tonight.  Her name was Connie and she was a wonderful mother and a kind person.  I liked her a lot, and she was good to my daughter, as I was good to hers.  She leaves a big hole behind that will never be filled.

Rachel is barley 18 years old.  So very young to lose her mother.  My heart breaks into a million pieces for her.  They were very close, like Kandise and me, and I'm so scared for her, knowing that I can't protect her from what she has to go through.

Please pray for Rachel and her father.  Please pray that she may find comfort and peace, and that she'll have the strength she needs to get through all that lies ahead.

And since she also calls me "Mom", maybe say a prayer for me, too?  That I'll have the wise words and warm hugs when she needs them, that I may be a source of comfort and solace for her.  For her, and for Kandise.

Thanks, everyone.  I'm so grateful for each of you, and the miracles your prayers bring to my life.  My first thought when this happened was to run here.    :ghug

With my birthday in January i have had to forgo alot of celebrations due to snow storms and extreme cold.  i've had to wait a month or more just to go out to a nice dinner some years.  I've just gotten used to it.  Now I'd really rather not even think about my birthday

Unfortunately I won't be able to travel anywhere outside of MI.  I've already had Dave take 3 days off so that I could go to Chicago.  And in August he's taking time off so I can go to Gatlinburg.  If I told him that I wanted to go to Philly, he would kill me.  I'm using up his vacation days and he's just sitting at home to watch the kids so I can have fun.  It would never work.

What you got? Because I've been looking around and I am getting excited about San Diego.

As much as I wish I could go to Philly (I've never been) I don't see it happening this year unfortunately.  I have limited vacation days so I can't go as many places as I would like plus funding is a bit low too.  :sniff  Still waiting on the remaining dates but as of right now I'm going to the 2 NC concerts and if there is an IL or IN date I'll go to that as well since it will be within driving distance.

It is a fight for your own seat kind of thing but I went last year and it was great. Most people wanted to sit on the floor but we sat up top where not many where so we had our pick.

Clandy  :pouncy Today is favorite hobby or interest. I brought pics of my trips to baseball stadiums (Chicago, Balitmore and Boston). In fact I am wearing my Wrigley Field shirt right  now.  :tomato  :lol
