when i tried to check it said there were no stations found in my area. i know i have seen it on my guide. maybe its because we have digital cable, and we get channels from alot of different areas around here. our guide is messed up again, but when it gets better i'll check and see what time it comes on here.

i just checked to see what time we get Tyra's show, and it said its on a two week delay here. if thats the case and Clay's episode is filmed on the 13th that means it will air on the 27th here, but who knows?

You know, as a soapy I'm a bit frightened by the Days of Our Lives factor. Remember this is the soap that had it's main female character possessed by the devil. John Black had his memory wiped out by the evil Stefano Dimera. Last year they killed off half the towns main characters only to have it revealed that Stefano, who many thought dead, was actually alive and had rigged their deaths to mess with their lives....

What on earth will they do to Clay? I'm skeered!

I think that the media is fascinated by the Claymates because they just don't get it. Kimmel is totally obsessed because, I'm sure, he looks at Clay and thinks "why?". But most guys (and some girls) will never get it.  :wink

Just wanted to comment on all of the upcoming Clay appearances.  I'm happy and I'm optimistic that maybe this will stimulate some radio play finally?  And when are they planning to release "Thousand Days" as a single? Or is it even necessary to do so in order to get radio play?  I'm clueless.  :bduh

Just wanted to give everybody a brief update.  I probably won't know for at least another week as to what my treatment plan for my b.c. will be.  I'm waiting for the results of blood work, MRI and bone scan as well  more pathology tests on the "tissue sample" from my lumpectomy.  Then the oncologist should be letting me know finally how we will proceed.  The wait is agonizing, but at least I know I'm in good hands.   Thanks for your concern and support during this time.  :ghug

I listen to the radio at work all day and in my car on the way to and from work and every place else I'm going.  I watch about 5 hours of TV per week.

It does sound like Clay there. But I have watched Days since forever and I hate the fact that it is a story line with Chelsea-- if indeed this is it. She is an awful person on the show and I don't care for her at all. She isn't one of the character that you even love to hate, you just hate her. So I personally hope it isn't the story line. :cross

I agree that he will more than likely sing a song from ATDW, maybe at Tuscany (the fancy restaurant in town) for a romantic evening for a couple or maybe several couples, depending on if it is a private party. I have a question......does anyone know how to make the most recent Clay pictures (Lawd Jesus and You Know You Want Me) bigger.  I used the little box on the bottom right corner, but I need them bigger than that.  Can any one help?

Micki ~ once you click on that little square in the corner that is the original size of the picture.  The only way to make it larger would be to use a photo program and even using that it is going to make it fuzzy when enlarged.  Are you talking about the People photoshoot outtakes?  I haven't seen any hi-res pics of those which are the HUGE/LIFESIZED photos.

Oprah wasn't exactly as advertised. Geez...considering the topic of her show....

Anyway, it was mostly about the media not giving us the "truth" as far as the war and in political matters, with a tiny bit of tabloid stuff at the very end.

Oprah showed the current cover of some tabloid, where the headline was "Oprah Collapses!" and she said she got hot, she sat down in a chair and they held a cold drink to her face.

The tabloid turned the pictures on it's side so it looked like she was lying down, collapsed to the ground.

She said it was not true, and threw the tabloid to the stage.  :giggle

Just an update for those who have been following my "saga".  :para  I had my bone scan today.  About a half hour after we finished the scan, the radiologist came out to the waiting area to see me .  He had a big smile on his face.  The only thing he saw on the scan was arthritis in my hands, hips, knees and feet!!!  Believe me, I'm willing to live with that!!!!    :shappy   Hopefully by Tuesday I'll get the verdict and get on with it, whatever "it" may be.

Off to the OFC to download the video.  Yay!

Thanks, Marilyn, for the heads up on that video.  I've been waiting three very long weeks to hear him talk about his music.  Fantastic content, beautiful background music and awesome video footage.  He sounded so happy to have input into the "sound" of the songs.  Loved his "SMILE" at the very end when he was singing...."When I See You Smile."  Very cute.

On another note.....I went to my Wal-Mart today.....three weeks after the release and they STILL DO NOT HAVE IT.  I asked again and was told the same thing....."It's not on the list."   :bang :bang  It's very frustrating and I'm taking it personally because I've asked them many times about getting it in stock.  This is the only store in town that sells music, with the expection of a tiny K-Mart that never has anything and is going downhill.  If any one in my area wants the CD they have to drive 30 miles to get it.  So many missed sales opportunities.  I've been thinking I need to head out of town, buy up as many copies as I can and start selling them from a stand in my front yard so people around here have the opportunity.  So many people I've talked to won't buy off the internet, don't trust it with their credit card information........~sigh~

I've been longing for a video since the release date.  I noticed that when I could actually watch him singing the songs I came away with a different  interpretation and feeling for the songs.....especially "When I See You Smile."  I never paid much attention to it on the CD, but after seeing his enthusiasm and body language and facial expressions I took notice more to the happiness this song conveys......or make that the happiness Clay oozes when singing it.  That probably made no sense at all.  But I guess what I'm trying to say is that I think I am really going to enjoy live Clay this spring.

Susie, I can so relate. I had to put our beloved dog MAC (yes, I said MAC), down in July after having him for 18 years.

Gramps and I are now in the process of "adopting" a Cairn Terrier rescue dog. It's quite a process. Gramps and I chuckle that we didn't have to go thru this many loops when we adopted our twins!

But knowing what those poor puppy mill dogs have gone thru, it's worth it. We're looking forward to giving one a loving forever home.

The newest culinary creation added to the Fair's menu is Fried Coke. Yep, batter made with Coca Cola instead of water. It's drizzled into the fryer, then strings of cooked batter are pulled out, topped with Coke syrup, whipped cream, and a cherry.

This is not surprising from what I've heard of the LA CH group.  :lol  I'm not sure when she was planning on getting there.  They don't start taping until 4pm her time which is 2 more hours plus she said that the taping will last atleast 3-4 HOURS!!  Wow, 3-4 hrs of watching Clay....what a tough job.  The studio only seats approx. 150 so there aren't too many BAD seats.  She is going to try and call me and give me a report afterwards when/if she can.

When I check the Tyra Banks site for "when to watch", there is a little disclaimer at the bottom for my area that says "The show is airing on a two week delay from the launch air schedule".   I wonder if that means we will see the show that was taped yesterday in 2 weeks. :shrug

What a great day. Went to weight watchers and in the last 2 weeks I only gained back 1.4 which isn't bad since I've been really, really naughty foodwise.  :slick

Then I helped mom and dad with some stuff got a new mouse that I have to plug in.

Tonight I was restless, bored out of my skull so I went out! Yup, I went to Borders and wandered around for a while. Got the new book in the Abby Cooper Psychic Eye mystery series and the first book in the Janet Evanovich series.

Felt go to just go out and wander around.

I tried to find something bluesy or jazzy to inspire my writing in the CD section but nothing really jumped out at me.

Sigh, more sad news in the four-legged department.

I just got off the phone with my mom tonight and our cat Charcoal died. It's so sad. She had cancer but she's been doing really well.  Tonight when they went out to feed everybody they could tell she wasn't feeling well so my dad brought her in and while she was sitting with him she died.

Poor little girl. Sometimes it's hard having all of these animals... sigh.

Well, I finally got around to checking out the OFC vids yesterday, and I must declare....they were awesome. I sat there with a big old fangirl smile on my face the whole time.  I watched the Virgin Records signing video first, and I was very touched by the outpouring of love and support for Clay.  I certainly hope that Clay will watch this video when he needs a lift.  Boyfriend is truly loved.  :hugg

Next, video #2.  It took me over an hour to get through this one.  I mean.....it should not have but there was one point, about 20 seconds into the vid, that just about took the air out of both my lungs.  Blue hair, blue face (actually, I am brunette). Yes, indeed.  Clay is an incredible looking man.  It is almost hard to believe that his looks were pretty much hidden, a few short years ago, under dorky glasses....unflattering hair.....and even more unflattering clothes.  It almost reminds me of the old librarian cliche'.  You have the nerdy and unassuming librarian....glasses, hair tied up, reserved clothing.  But, once the glasses come off and the hair comes down (after dark), watch out cuz your about to have the wind knocked out of you.  His male beauty is simply intoxicating.

But, something's been on my mind. When Tyra asked him what he liked when he looked into the mirror, he was totally thrown for an answer. His quick thinking and humor didn't help him.... He just seemed really uncomfortable with the idea of saying something good about himself.

There's something sad about that.

That is interesting, Sunny.   And very sad.  But, you know what they say about a person who loses a lot of weight.  Even though they become small, they may still see themselves as chubby.  The same scenario could apply to Clay.  He may still see the "old Clayton" when he looks in the mirror.  Sometimes it is hard to let go of the past.  I really wish that he could see what we see.  But, then again....he may end up falling in love with himself.  I don't know if that would be a good thing or a bad thing.   :lmao  In the end, the lady that he falls in love with will allow him to feel what we already see: handsome.

For now, all that I know is this....when I look at him, he takes my breath away.  Literally.  If I ever won a meet and greet,  I would have to drag  an oxygen take with me.  How embarrassing would that be now.   :bduh :bduh

Well I got to watch the OFC videos, finally. Very good. I want to know when we can see the footage of him singing "When I See You Smile" and the others in the blue shirt, with the sleeves rolled up. We need all of that.  :thud

I also finally got to listen to "If You Don't Know Me By Now."  :thud  :thud Wow! I love it. The soulful quality is awesome. One of the better covers and why it was not on the original CD I do not understand.

I listened to the bonus songs a lot today while I was driving to and from KC. I can totally relate to Lover All Alone.

If ya'll could keep your fingers crossed for me today. One of my favorite kitties Maxie is going to the emergency vet hospital because he's having difficulty breathing. He has something like kitty asthma, so mom is bringing him up to the Quakertown vet hospital this morning.

He's an orange and white sweetie, who is more like a dog than a kitty, so fingers crossed for Maxi would be much appreciated.

I have that close up of Clay's face on my desktop at work and at home right now.

I understand, Meesa.  I was teased unmercifully by my peers in Jr. high and high school.  At age 54, I still  hold onto some of the same insecure feelings.  To this day I have a very difficult time accepting compliments from anybody.   I can so relate to what Clay is probably feeling when people tell him he is "hot" and good-looking, etc.   Unfortunately the scars from a difficult childhood and adolescence remain throughout life;   it becomes a life-long struggle to overcome one's negative feelings about one's image, but it isn't impossible. 

Thanks MARION,  MICKI and others for your supportive comments.  As I await the results of more tests and the decision on my treatment plan, I am finding it difficult to feel positive or even strong enough to face what may be ahead.  Yesterday I was in the emotional pits, so to speak.  One day at a time...

I'm listening to Kidd Kraddick. In Hollywood News, they are saying Jermaine Dupri  is ticked at how Janet Jackson's album sales have gone.



Hmmm. Her CD came out the week after Clay's. When we were camping out for the CD signing, the midnight sale of her CD was going on. Maybe 10 to 15 people were there to buy the CD at midnight. All guys. And they gave them a free print of Janet sprawled out on her back on a couch or bed. Classy.

First, Hi everyone!  I'm at work and I'm bored.  Mainly cause I have the rainy weather blues and its put me in a blah mood.  Ah well.  Thought I'd pop in and say hello.  But while I'm at it...

In regards to Janet Jackson's CD, she falls along the same category as so many other artists nowadays.  In her format, she will get decent radio airplay.  Her singles will do well.  She'll be on magazines.  But... (and I get this info from a friend of mine who listens to this kind of music) the fans of the hip hop/R&B era are more prone to downloading the songs from shareware, rather than purchasing the album itself.  They will also buy burned CD's at a much cheaper price than pay full price.

Obviously, not all people will do this.  However, it is one of the main reasons CD sales are low for a lot of artists like this.

You may shoot me where I stand, but I believe there are more people out there who like Janet Jackson and would listen to her music, than those who like Clay Aiken.  However, Clay has the support of his fans to the point where we don't like burning copies of the CD's.  We'd rather buy them, or make our friends buy them, rather than let him lose money.  This is why his sales typically do so well.  But even with people burning CD's like this, her sales are still better than our man's sales.

I really hope he does a new CD with new songs next time.  I know you've probably all heard that to death but, if those songs are like Lover All Alone and throw in a few more fun songs... he'll have much better sales.

THIS REMINDS ME OF 2 THINGS.  FIRST OF ALL, THINK OF THE VIDEO FOR INVISIBLE WHEN CLAY SANG TO THAT GIRL.  SHE WAS NOT THIN BY ANY STRETCH, BUT HE COULDN'T EVEN REMEMBER WHAT SHE WAS REFERRING TO.  HE DIDN'T SEE HER AS UNATTRACTIVE.  THAT IS ONE OF THE MANY REASONS WE LOVE HIM.  HE SEES THE INSIDE.

WHICH LEADS TO THE SECOND POINT.  YESTERDAY I WENT TO THE MOVIES WITH MY BEST FRIEND.  SAW "THE QUEEN".  EXCELLENT, BTW.  AND OVER WINE SHE TOOK MY HAND AND BEGGED ME NOT TO GO OVER THE DEEP END.  SHE WAS REFERRING TO CLAY.  WE WERE TALKING ABOUT THE MEDIA AND WHAT THEY HAD DONE TO DIANA BECAUSE PEOPLE ARE SO FASCINATED BY CELEBRITY.  AND SHE ASKED ME WHAT WAS STILL SO FASCINATING TO ME ABOUT A 27 YEAR OLD KID.  (HER SON IS 36.)  SHE LOVES HIS VOICE.  HAS SEEN HIM A COUPLE OF TIMES WITH US.  SHE IS SO WORRIED THAT I AM LOSING IT.  I ASSURED HER I AM STILL SANE.  BUT I WENT ON THE TELL HER HOW CLAY'S HEART AND SOUL ARE SO  SEXY TO ME.  I GAVE HER EXAMPLES INCLUDING THE ONE I CITED ABOVE.  THERE IS NOTHING MORE HOT THAN A MAN WHO SEES WHAT IS IN THE INSIDE OF A PERSON.

I was going by the RCA site and the OFC.  They both say that it is scheduled for 10/16.  :shrug

In looking at these early numbers, the thing that I notice is that artists like Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts and Josh Turner have made big jumps with their CDs that have been out a year or so and I am guessing it's because they have singles on the radio that are catching new buyers' ears. I've been listening to country radio more recently (kind of taking a break from the pop/rock thing), and Carrie has a cool song out and so does Josh Turner. Just goes to show what radio play can do.

Other artists like Jimmy Buffet are strong because of his fanbase. He gets no radio play. His first number 1 single was a year or so ago, a duet with Alan Jackson. But how long he will stay in the top 10 or 20 will be interesting.

Huh, FANTASY???  :shocking  Maybe they don't play Jimmy Buffet in Texas, but around here "Wasting Away in Margharitaville" is a favorite on the AC stations.   Even I know the lyrics and I haven't touched a drop of alchohol in over 30 years!  :wink

My intention on pointing this possibility out is not to have a pity party for me. I realize kids can be cruel in school. It's just that when every little aspect of you is criticized by someone, you get paranoid or a little down. Just last week, I was given some "advice" by someone who told me what they thought I should do to make myself look more attractive. Maybe that's why it bugs me so much when I hear people criticize Clay's looks. People are so shallow some times it's ridiculous. Clay is a human being who has feelings. While it may not upset him because he's heard it before, it still isn't right. I re-watched the GMA interview this weekend. The look on Clay's face and the hurt in his eyes were hard to watch.

I AM NOT SURE YOU CAN CALL THE ALAN JACKSON/JIMMY BUFFET SONG ONE OF JIMMY'S.  ALAN JACKSON IS REALLY, REALLY HUGE IN COUNTRY.  THE SONG IS 90% ALAN JACKSON.

COUNTRY, IN GENERAL, IS VERY WELL REPRESENTED ON THAT CHART.  JOSH TURNER IS RELATIVELY NEW.  HE GETS TONS OF RADIO PLAY.  HEARTLAND IS VERY NEW AND THEY ARE DOING EXTREMEMLY WELL.  THEIR SONG CAME OUT AND WAS IMMEDIATELY #1 IN A WEEK.  SAME WITH GRETCHEN WILSON WHEN HER REDNECK WOMAN CAME OUT.  I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT THE POP CHART, BUT I DO KNOW COUNTRY, AND ALL OF THE ARTISTS ON THAT CHART GET ENORMOUS RADIO PLAY.

CLAY MAY NOT BE BREAKING RECORDS, BUT HE IS STILL ON THE CHART AFTER 4 WEEKS.  THAT IS SOMETHING.

Gah, Meesa you tell that person who gave you the advice to go look in the mirror before they start judging anyone else.

Aren't kids cruel though. I was picked on all through grammar school until one day I turned around and told the leader of the teasting to knock it the F... off, in the middle of class, in a Catholic school. All the kids were like whoooooooaaaaaaaa because nobody ever stood up to this guy.

After that kids stopped picking on me and I was even invited to graduation parties.

Now highschool, another matter all together, I had friends and was pretty happily ensconsed in my artistic little worlds, painting, drawing, etc... I hadn't even gotten in to writing then.

The worst I ever felt about myself with the teasing was, believe it or not at the youth group I went to in church. I had this tendency when I got excited to have my mouth pull over to the left side. Now, I still do it sometimes but I'm more aware of it now.

These kids, these two guys in the youth group made such fun of me for it, immitating it and laughing at me that I finally stopped going.

I'm still self-concious about it and I'll sometimes talk to myself in the mirror to make sure I'm not doing it.

It's amazing the kind of effect people teasing other people has in the long term.

I think it'll take Clay along time to realize just what he means to each and every one of us.

I think most of us at one time have been the subject of ridicule.  I realized long ago that it's what's inside a person that is the essence of their being.  It's their soul and their heart that really matters.  If you're true to yourself and treat others with respect, eventually that heart and soul will win them over.  The rest is just "packaging" (TM CA). 

Clay is consistently selling each week.  That's a good thing, and we should all be proud of him.  I sure am!  In fact, I think I'll go buy another few CD's.  My supply has been dwindling.

Yes but that is an older song not a song from his new CD. That is my point. And as Gwenn pointed out that you can't really count the Alan Jackson song as a Jimmy Buffet song and that's my point too. It took a song by another artist to give Jimmy Buffet his 1st #1 song. He has an amazingly loyal fan base who will buy his CDs and see his shows no matter what. Who else does that sound like?   :smile

I hate the song "Margaritaville". :puke My family thinks it's hilarious how much it annoys me. I either change the station or shut the radio off when it plays.

Another example of a loyal fan base is The Grateful Dead and their fans, the Deadheads. (I think I thought of that because I'm craving Ben & Jerry's right now.  :lol )

Sigh, I'll just have to have a weight watchers 1 point frozen yogurt bar when I get home now. HEE!

hi everybody, i was just reading back pages, and read about you guys talking about being teased. i know exactly what you guys were talking about. i started to be teased when i was in kindergarten.

my cousin and i had been accidently locked in a bathroom and we couldn't get out, the door handle was broken. they ended up having to unscrew the doorknob to get us out.

being locked in there caused me to have a fear of being locked in a bathroom. so when i would go to school i would try not to go to the bathroom because of my fear. i would end of having accidents. that caused me to be the brunt of jokes because of it.

growing up i started to use food for comfort for the pain i was feeling inside, and i started taking antidepressants when i was in 6th grade i think.

i was always searching for friends, but could never find any. no one wanted to be seen with me for one reason or another. i started trying to hang out with my cousin when i was in fifth grade, thinking she would accept me considering i was her cousin. instead she treated me even worse the everyone else was. she also had one girl she hung out with who was always out to get me. coming up behind me and pulling my hair, sending me threatning notes in class, and following me into the girls bathroom and taking my purse and throwing it in the trash, after she slammed my stall door in my face. i ended up going to the principle and she finally left me alone. allthough it didn't change the fact that i would go home everyday and cry for hours in my room, i wanted to die. i even got close to cutting myself a few times.

then i started hanging out with a bad group of girls, hoping to be accepted by someone. they were involved in drinking, drugs, smoking, swearing, sex, and self mutilation. the baddest groups girls in the school. i hung out with them for a few years, and started swearing like a sailor trying to fit in. they asked me to go to parties, but i would refuse because i knew what kind of parties they would be. i wanted nothing to do with that. they would offer me cigarettes, but i wasn't afraid to let them know that i didn't smoke or drink. i would just swear.

when i was in the 9th grade this one guy in my spanish class that i had went to school with since kindergarten started trying to bully me in to doing what he wanted me too, but i fought back and told him to leave me alone and it felt great.

anyways, i left school when i was in the 9th grade because i was having learning problems and just couldn't take the bullying anymore.

after that school year was over, during the summer, my parents said they were going to send me back, and i threw a fit. that had always been one of my greatest fears.

so i went back, but ended up leaving a little later in the year than i did the year before. i learned alot about myself though. i stopped swearing during that time, and when i went back never hung out with that group of girls anymore.

i still have problems though. i have been overweight since my early teens, and it causes me to be shy and backward. i also never leave home, and i have no friends,and i am so lonely. i want to get my GED but my learning problems make it hard for me to do that. it causes me to have female problems and i went to the hospital and almost died from bleeding to death because of it. if i had stayed home that night i would have died. it also causes me to have bouts of severe bleeding and cramps.

i feel so much pressure to lose weight, to get my Ged, to get a job, to get friends ,to go to college, to get a liscense. i have never had one because i left school before taking drivers ed., and i almost had an accident when my mom took me out once when i was 16. i have never been out to try and drive since, because my mom is afraid to teach me.

i have no idea who i am, and want i want to do with my life, and i am so scared of what might happen if i don't.

my father is verbally abuseive and we don't get along at all. he keeps pressuring me to do this and that, but i don't even know who i am.

i am so scared that i cry myself to sleep at night and listen to Clay to try and feel better.

well i just spilled my guts about myself, and sorry about the long post.  :bduh

Trust me, you are not alone; lots of girls go through the same thing. Nobody can really tell you what you do - you have to decide for yourself, and hopefully find someone there closeby who will help you after you decide, and not pressure you. Hopefully your parents, or a family friend, or a teacher...some one.  It hurts me that you are scared, and that you cry yourself to sleep.  But, you can't really learn about yourself, or figure out what you want to do, or what you are good at, or meet new people, until you get out there and do something, anything.  Don't let people pressure you, just take one thing at a time. Make a list!  :smile  You might want to check with your high school to see if they have GED classes, and administer the test. Or, if you have a community college nearby, you might call them. They sometimes have learning centers where teachers and others can help you study for the GED, and they give the test as well.  You can get books at the public library that will help you study for the test too.  I think you can even get your GED online! Just something to think about.  You'll be able to get a better job if you have that GED! You are smart, you can do it. 

I really, really hope you do!

Candace ~ I never had many close friends before Clay and Claymaniacs (aside from hubby but he doesn't count! :lol ).  I had casual friends but no one close that I could talk to about anything and everything.  I've met so many new friends here at Claymaniacs most of whom I met in the first year after joining.  I actually was fortunate to meet my best friend here when I never thought it would be possible.  I'm sure it wasn't easy for you to open up like that but I'm glad you did as I hope it made you feel some better.  I'm sorry for all you have been through and I'm glad that you have found us!  Best of luck to you on whatever you decide.  I'll be praying for you.  :hugg  One my fav quotes of Clays...."Let go and let God."

There are many wonderful people here at Claymaniacs that will be happy to listen and try to offer you the help and encouragement that will help you get through what now probably seem like unsurmountable obstacles.

We have all been through our share of problems that life holds and most of us couldn't have gotten through them without help from others.  Sometimes just talking about a situation helps put it in perspective and then it doesn't seem so hopeless.  By talking, things can be broken down into smaller parts that are easier to handle.

We are here to listen when you want to talk and to offer whatever advice you may want.  Many times just by getting things out in the open, you can see a different direction that you hadn't realized was there.  Just take one little step at a time and don't try to solve everything at once.

We're here for you when you need us, so don't hesitate to let us lend you a shoulder to lean on.  We came here for Clay but we also found a wonderful network of friends willing to offer help if we want it or to just be a sounding board so we can try to work through life's challenges.

If I could, I would hug you too.   :hugg  You are amongst friends here, at Clay Maniacs.  I truly hope that you know that .  Our board is home to some of the kindest, most compassionate, and loving folks in the fandom.  We are a group of people who are inspired by the heart and soul of Clay Aiken.  So, needless to say, you are in fine company.

Candace, it is not easy to speak out and bare your soul the way that you did, but it was a good start. I am very proud of your courage.  Consider it a "first step" in an attempt to lift the burdens you carry.  Wilson is right: we have all been through hard times.  And you know, we got through them somehow.  With faith, strength, courage and belief in yourself.....you will too.  Baby steps and one day at a time.  Set goals and refuse to allow fear to hold you back.  That is how I live my life.  As a girl/teen, I was not bullied, but I had the weight issue.  I remember the hurt like it was yesterday.  I am also a very spiritual person, and I believe that I went through those difficulties for a reason.  So, I became a nutritionist (and shrunk substantially, in the process).  Now I help others be healthy.  See, Candace, everyone has a purpose in this life.  Listen to your heart and your mission will be revealed.  Then, set out to do what you are meant to do.  Above all, believe in yourself and go out there and live your life  to the fullest.

Candace, I want to echo the sentiments of all here. The Claymaniacs are behind you and support you. I have found that you can always come here when your heart hurts, and find comfort with the wonderful people who are here. I am so sorry that you had to go through so much, and understand completely how you feel.

Everyone has given you good advice, here. Johanna has said to contact Adult Education. I am sure that you can get into programs such as these to help you advance in your studies, and get your GED. There are many programs that can help which will be structured to your learning needs.

Additionally, if you are affiliated with a church, perhaps a counselor of some kind that can listen while you share your fears and help you to overcome them. There are ministries that also help with this sort of thing.

As Johanna said, if you need any help in looking for some of these things that will aid you in your journey, you have only to ask and anyone here would be more than willing to guide you.

I saw part of a discussion about this on another board and thought it would be interesting get everyone's thoughts on it here.  Both Elton John and Barry Manilow have been on QVC recently selling their CD's.  What are your thoughts if Clay were to do this?  Aside from being on there, what if he sang...would that change your opinion?

Hell no on all accounts. First of all QVC is an untapped market. If he got on there and preformed imagine the number of people would might be seeing him for the first time because all they watch is QVC. There are people like that. Those people would think wow! What a voice! what a nice young man and since they're sitting there with their credit card out already they'd be moved to buy said CD.

It'd be a smart move in my opinion. Lots of people are using QVC these days to market things. Just look at Donald Trump. He pimped the first season of the Apprentice on QVC and I wached because frankly I love the Apprentice.

And what's wrong with Barry and Elton selling on QVC? I love Barry!  :bigsmile Always have. Hee.

To date myself we used to have a Barry Mannilow live record, and I do mean record. Vinyl. And when the house was empty and I was all alone I used to blare it and dance around the living room using a brush for a microphone singing along to the commercial medley.  :lol

Wow, the QVC studios are only about an hour from my house.  Lots of times, they have a studio audience.  This would be awsome!  I sure hope it's true......he would sell really well there.  A "holiday" pack with both CD's would be great, too!  Alot of Clay's Christmas concerts are in PA and NJ......very accessable to QVC.  Perhaps he'll appear on one of his days off.
