AFTER ALL, CLAY IN THE FLESH IS MUCH BETTER THAN  A PHOTO OR VIDEO, IS IT NOT??

I have to say I agree with most of what Carol said over in the old thread! :eek  I especially agree with the part about not teasing or playing us.  The now infamous "quite soon" post from way back when DID NOT refer to the CD being released.  It referred to CD news and as it was posted shortly before the EW blurb, which gave us our first clue that the CD would be mostly covers, my guess is that is what he was referring to.  He may have even thought it would have more information in it.  Who knows.

I think Clay tells us what he can and I think he keeps us more in the loop than most artists.  What if he had told us the release date was the June 20th date many stores had listed and then it was pushed back to September or October?  People would have been furious and even more disappointed than not having any official release date!  I have learned that one thing VERY common in the recording industry are delays in release dates.  They seem on average to be delayed anywhere from about 3 to 5 times.  Clay is no different.

When he alluded to an album coming out during the JBT what did he say?  He said "When its ready"!  When JFnoL and Clay both they said they hoped it would be out in the first half of the year, that was the truth.  They HOPED that would be the case.  Then the format changed.  It really hasn't been that long when you take that into consideration.  When he blogged in April with news of the format change he was still in the studio.  I knew then there was no way the CD would be out in the first half of the year and they most likely would not release it in the summer since it is such a down time for TV - Clay's primary mode of promotion.  But still people thought it would be out in June and then were shattered and/or mad when it wasn't. 

They were convinced his appearance on AI5, only about a month after a blog which told us he was still in the studio, would be the start of the CD promotion!  How?  If he was still in the studio in late April, the CD was likely either barely finished or perhaps even not quite finished when he was on AI5!

I sometimes think Clay fans just feel too entitled to know everything happening in his life because for the most part "we" got him to where he is by voting for him on AI and supporting him so loyally the last 3 years.  We all scream that we want a quality album, yet we expect him to spit one out in a few weeks!

Clay never promised us an album by a specific date.  So how was he teasing us?  The contest?  I think there were some last minute delays in the official announcement and it was his way of keeping the natives occupied for a few weeks.  And for it, someone will get an autographed CD and a phone call from Clay!

And be prepared.  When the Oh-fficial announcement does come, do not expect it to be followed with appearances on TV or in print.  That will likely come much closer to the actual drop date to keep him fresh in people's minds.  We may get the announcement of a drop date and the first single and that will be it for awhile. Until the promotion starts in earnest, I think we will be getting more information in dribs and drabs.

This fandom wants so much from Clay - more than he can possible ever deliver.  He told us the CD would be out when it was ready - and it will be.  The delays we have seen are normal for the industry.  He has told us what he can.  Why does anyone expect more?

I believe people expected something by now (right or wrong) because back in January when he said "QUITE Soon," most of us thought it would be much sooner than it is turning out to be.  I don't necessarily agree, Christie, that it was the EW blurb he was referring to in his blog.  I do think, however, that things got delayed.  That happens!  Not to mention there was a change as to what would be on this CD.  I'm not angsting over it, when the time is here I think we will get A LOT of Clay.  IMO, the problem is that "soon" is usually sooner than this has turned out to be, and that's what has people angsting.

I have been sitting here thinking about what you've said, but the fact of the matter is that for me... I was away for a very very long time.  I took a huge step back after the divorce to concentrate on my real life and to find out just who I was.

I did not get to see him for the JBT.  As a matter of fact, this week is the very first time I even looked at downloads from the JBT.  Yes, I saw him at JNT2, but I missed JNT1 so I felt slightly entitled to enjoy it when it actually came to my city and I didn't have to fly anywhere or stay in a hotel anywhere and I could just go to a concert and go home.

What I did find when I took a step back and found a life and love and quite honestly, myself...  is that I am a Clay fan through and through (No matter what I think of his looks and there have been many times that OUTWARDLY, he just needs help.   :bigsmile).

Those who were with me at the Independent Tour in Spokane can argue with me, but I hated how he looked up on stage.  Maybe it was the angle, but he looked horrid to me in that bright green shirt.

Doesn't stop me from being fangirly... but there are going to be moments when I'm happy with Clay and his looks, and times I am not.  I've come to grips with it because I adore the man inside the bod.  I think we alllll can agree on that.

But something else I have also come to grips with... is that we are the hen house and Clay is our rooster (insert a cockadoodle-doo and a filthy thought here  :naughty)...

We cluck.  We do.  We cluck and peck at everything.  Its what we do.  We will discuss anything and everything and beat the horse to death until we're tired of the topic.

I equate it to this... When a man done us wrong, we gather around the ice cream and/or chocolate and talk all night about the man and men in general etc, etc.  Well, we do the same thing with Clay and the different things going on around him.

We want to know where he is and what he's doing, the same way we'd want to know when our husband/spouse/boyfriend/fiance/daughter/son is coming home and what they're doing during the day and with their lives.

We worry.  We fret.  Some of us, more than others.

Does it mean we don't have a full life?  Absolutely not.  But like any other hobby, we spend time doing things we love to do.  For us, we love spending time with other Clay fans, discussing Clay topics and gathering together to see the man himself.

I find myself excited again about Clay after my hiatus.  I find myself even more excited about spending time with my Clay friends than before.  I had wondered if I had only had Clay (and to be honest, all of you) in my life because there was so much missing from the life I had with the jerk.  But I have found, after quite some time away... that you all enrich my life.  And even when I get pissy and irritated with one or more of you... I still wouldn't trade a single one of you for the world.  And I really do mean that.  About everyone.

I am healed in so many ways.  Still healing in small ways, but its a process.  And I'm just glad that I know that I can bitch about anything here and there and there is always someone there to listen.  Even if you do get tired of the venting.   :bigsmile

I lurk in this thread a lot and laugh sometimes until I cry.

But Misha, your post deserves a "well said"!!!!!!  Love the hen house/rooster part, this is soooooo true!!!!!!!!

I think part of the intrique and the draw of a  site  as this (nee window into Clay fandom) is the absolute uniqueness of this experience for each of us. Blame the internet, blame the REDHEAD, blame the estrogenesque need to share, network and talk.. Whatever it was it hit us universally and instantaneously..    CLAY......... AND WE WANTED MORE... Don't know where it comes from, but so many of us have said thanks to Clay there have been many FIRSTS
for us. They have led us to adventure, travel, new friendships and at times IMPULSIVITY..Things we never would have done before...

So it has been like a drug..

ThAT IS a device by a psychologist to  experiment using rats and a lever of food (or drugs) that they can have access to at will..Their behavior has been chartered.. Many experiments re: learning patterns.. anxiety etc....BUT THE KEY point and driving force was that...They  ALWAYS CAME BACK FOR MORE..and MORE..

I really believe The Clay experience has aped that ..for so many of us..

On the contrary there have been many things  that have happened  these 3 years in my life that I wish didn't occur and competed with my CLAY time..  Such is life..I've also filled it up with may responsibilities to people, organizations, and commitments, aside from just living a life of raising kids, supporting a family, nurturing friendships etc.. NO DIFFERENT THAN ANYONE ELSE..

Point is...I CHOSE to get as involved with CLAY fandom as I wished.. AND... as I have done my whole life managed  to weave it into who I am and  what I call it MY LIFE..

Has my fandom changed??

All relationships evolve..  :Your kids, your lovers, your husbands, your friends, your pets... The good ones only get deeper and better.

I haven't posted too much lately--I have been doing more lurking and now I know why.

Most of you who have been posting this afternoon and evening are so much more eloquent than I could ever be and I agree with most of what has been said.  We do love Clay and want more and more of him but I also believe that by being here at Claymaniacs we find out more than a lot of artists give their fans. 

Because we love him so much we want to know every little thing that is going on in his life.  This might get a little overwhelming to Clay because he does need his own space, even if we don't always think so.

I am just like most of you--I want a CD and tour NOW.  From what I have seen Clay really enjoys touring so I am sure he would if he could.  But this time he has to wait for the CD.  I also feel like Gwen in that I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get a tour until after the first of the year.  If he plans to do a major tour, I don't know if he could fit it in between now and the end of the year.  I certainly hope he can, because after seeing him several times the last two years, I really don't like the thought of not seeing him perform live this year.

I realize when I get started I tend to ramble and I'm sorry.  To sum this up:

                           I WANT A NEW CD & TOUR

So I can meet a lot more Claymaniacs and share the love and fun we have when we are here--united by Clay.

I started whining about wanting to know the CD release date on Critical Mass 11 this morning   . . . . . 

Now, we have a fresh new Critical Mass place and the posts regarding the upcoming CD and when it will be released have been thoughtful, sensible, witty, logical and heartfelt  . BUT ~~ 

The delay hasn't caused angst in my life, but I'll be a whole lot more "satisfied" when I hear the date of the drop !  :wink

'Story of my life....

Well, getting ready to eat breakfast here and amazingly enough, now that I know someone won the contest, I'm good to go for another little while.

I still wanna know the release date, but... I can wait a while again before I get cluck happy.

And of course, my honey is standing over my shoulder saying, "No you can't.  You can't wait."  LOL Ahh, how well he knows me.   :lol

:wave I've really loved the posts the last couple of days. It is great to finally believe again that there will be a new CD. I still think (and hope!) that Clay has spent some of his free time working on problems at the OFC. I talked to a friend yesterday who went to the OFC from a computer that was not her own - she somehow ended up at a page for new Fan Club members to register for the first time (even though she is a member). That page still says that Clay will blog every week. The people who run the Fan Club probably don't even know that that promise is still there - they seem to be a very disorganized bunch to me. I agree that Clay probably has other things to do besides thinking about us every minute (how dare he!  :lmao ). He just needs to make sure that he does what he says he is going to do.

I've loved the interest that Clay has shown for the NANA contest - that is what I sort of thought a celebrity would be like on his own Fan Club site. I hope Clay will stay just as visible and obtainable (O.K. - not obtainable  :bang ) in the future.

I think Clay has spent time working with his BAF responsibilities as well. This is camp time after all! He's a busy man.

Meesa, I've been wondering about Clay and BAF since there's not been much said about the he and the camps.  I'm sure there's a lot of behind the scenes of it all.  Perhaps, we'll get some photos of his visits along with the info about the attendance/growth this year.

He's not visiting camps this year, but is still highly involved since he's on the board. I know the Olathe (Kansas City camp) has about 60 kids. The Raleigh camp has over 400! Kristy is running that one. I'm not sure about the Concord or Indiana camps. Pictures will probably be on the BAF site in the near future. There is still another week of camp left.

I HAVE A HUGE CONFESSION.  I AM DEFINITELY GETTING OLD.   :bang  I CANNOT PARTY LIKE I USED TO.  OUR NIECE AND HER HUSBAND ARE BIG PARTIERS.  WE STARTED BY 1:30 IN THE AFTERNOON AND IT WENT ON ALL DAY AND INTO THE NIGHT.  HOT TUB AT 9, ETC.  I AM SOOOOOOOOOOO NOT FEELING GOOD TODAY.  MY STOMACH IS REVOLTING BIG TIME.  OY.  BUT WE DID HAVE A BLAST.   :bouncy  WON'T BE DOING THAT FOR A WHILE.

To join Gwenn in that "I shouldn't party as hard as I used to" theory...yeah, last Saturday, after dry toast to sop up the "excess" in my stomach I still had, ibuprohen for the headache, sleep for the "I can't move or I will puke"feeling, unplugging all the "plug ins" in the house because the smells were making me sick!!,..THEN finally after 1:00, I decided to take some dramamine for the  head spinning...and more non moving sleep-about 5:00 I felt a slight bit better.

Just in time for mom to stop by for a "SURPRISE VISIT" from out of town...

I looked wonderful- uncombed hair, (but I did shower...slowly and did not move my head! :lol), no makeup- white as a ghost!, and I wasn't Miss Talkative as I usually am.

I promise- no more either.........


At least until the next big party I attend!!

LuvMYClay- I was doing fine DURING...it is always the after that sucks!

And I know better than to eat..and I did- a greasy hamburger and chips about 3 hours into the "fun".

I paid the price but I am done buying the pain....a little more moderation next time.

They threw in several shots of something green..said I would "glow in the dark" with it..in addition to my Jim Beam and Diet Coke regulars...let's just say-

I just came home from a lovely birthday celebration brunch.. It really went well..My daughter and I and my son's present GF all are celebrants  in days of each other..

The place was in Spring Lake  by an old mill and was lovely.. We had mimosas, balloons, amazing food and lots of packages to swap..  I had so much joy in hosting.. I hope they get the message that good things in life deserve to be celebrated together..

GF.. gave me a radio/cd player for my kitchen with a remote.." So I could listen to "CLAY" ",she said, in the kitchen too!!!  SMART GIRL!!!Mega BROWNIE POINTS!! :wink

Wow! everyone is partying and having fun this weekend.  :bigsmile

We finally got our pool done last weekend.  Yep! we are slow! (or, umm..maybe just too busy all the time :wink)  It is just an above-ground, but we thought it was plenty big enough for us.

But anyway, this weekend has been hot here in Maine (90 degrees). Friday, my parents came down in the afternoon and we all went swimming.  Then we sat on our big deck and had cocktails and snacks.  After awhile, we retired to the dining room for Italian spaghetti, salad, garlic bread and dessert.  None of the kids were home, so it was a very relaxing time.

Yesterday, we picked up our youngest son who has been away from home since June.  He was very pleasantly surprised to find the pool here.  :lmao  He and I never got out of the pool until almost 9 pm last night.  :smile  Even though it was late, he just had to try it out.

This afternoon my stepdaughter and her 3 kids came over to swim.  My son already had a friend over.  My hubby said that he now knows the pool is big enough and strong enough!! :roflmao They all stayed for dinner.  I was smart enough to make a couple of pasta dishes, some cucumber salad and fix more garlic bread this morning before it got tooo hot.  :slick

It is supposed to be another scorcher tomorrow and I have to work.  I told hubby that if more people show up to swim tomorrow evening---we are eating take-out!!!!  :rofl

okay, its been a while since I've had a Clay dream - but I had one last night (or this morning)

Anyway, it was very short but here it is:

I was walking into church (a church I've never been to) and and I could feel somebody sneaking up  behind me - I could see the person in the reflection of the big windows to my left and it was Clay (we apparently knew each other).  He sneaks up behind me and puts his arms around the front of me and cups my boobs  :para (we apparently knew each other very well  :lmao)
Over to my left was my sister and a girl I work with and I mouthed the words to them "its Clay Aiken!) and yes, his hands were still resting on my "front"  and I woke up - that was it.  Wierd.....what?  Yes, I tried to go back to sleep to see if it would continue.  Sadly to say, it did not  :cry

I just want to say that I read the guess of the title of A Thousand Different Ways. I really hope that is the title. It can mean so many different things, referring to the cover songs and love songs. And it goes along with my favorite song "A Thousand Days."  :smile

There was a PR out today announcing John Mayer's CD drop date as 9/12/06.  This announcement could be about him or someone else.  Hockeydonna at CV speculated that there COULD be a PR in the morning and then radio announcements all over the rest of the day.  She said that this station KISS108 is an RCA pet station.  This has happened in the past with other 'big' announcements so I'm not going to count on it happening but if it does I can be pleasantly surprised!!  :yahoo

A Thousand Different Ways is the title of the CD.  The CD is "completely done"  Release date was not given.

It was so great to come to work today and find out all this exciting news. ACcountryfan let me know that Jaymes had blogged. And with major help from Clandy (thank you. I hope I wasn't too rude, just outright asking. Not asking how are you? What's going on in your life?  :wink  :lol) I was able to find it. How awesome. I LOVE that title; it can mean so many different things (and I know, some very suggestive; more for everyone to talk about.  :lol)

I love what she had to say. She has worked with some major artists so that is high praise. She didn't have to say it because we all know how talented and awesome he is so it means something that she did. And the idea of his vocals being showcased more, a lot of artists are overwhelmed with the production of orchestrations and music that you can't hear them (I think the BOTW single has this problem). So I'm very happy that they addressed this.

I think she built it up even more. I can't wait to hear it. I hope it is everything they say it is.   :thud

I'm having a mini-vacation this weekend as I take half a day off from work on Friday and head off camping with my honey and some of his family.  Which of course, COULD negate the whole vacation ambience simply by their presence.  But you never know, his family sure is a lot nicer than my ex-in-laws, which of course, makes vacations with them a vast improvement over what I'm used to.   :smile

I mean he probably isn't going to book for instance Verizon Wireless Ampitheater like Kelly did. (This is in Bonner Springs - near Kansas City). It's an outdoor venue and it will most likely be cooler since it will be the fall. If he wants it to be more intimate concert, this would not be a good choice.

If not more intimate, maybe venues like IT? Can't be like NAT because that was mainly state fairs and I think Clay's grown way past that.

But this is just my opinion.

Meesa... if they are in the process of booking a tour, IMO, there is no way they will book venues the size of IT.  For instance, Staples Center in LA seats approx. 18,000.  I really doubt, at this point, Clay could fill that venue.

It doesn't have to be the same venues. Maybe something smaller, but not as small as JNT 05.

He could easily sell out the Kansas Colliseum in Wichita. Michael Buble was just there last week.

And he could go back to PF Chang's and see if that waiter is still there. :rofl

I was thinking (a bad thing :lol) re the tour booking, perhaps they would book smaller venues 2,000 to 5,000 and add a 2nd night if the first sold out.

The Colliseum can change settings for the way the artist wants the set-up to be. That's the kind of thing I meant.

Does anyone think that perhaps the tour schedule is already set?  Venues set their calendars in advance...not just because fans want to see Clay Aiken.  My guess is that if the tour is to be in the late fall, that the venues/the number of nights appearing/etc. are already set.

This is not meant to be sarcastic, but...except for on the message boards...the world does not revolve around Clay Aiken.

I don't really think there will be a Fall concert tour! I think maybe he will want the CD to be out for awhile and also the chance for "new" fans to get to know him (and love him) when they hear the new CD and when they see and hear him on the TV programs during the CD promotion.  Then those "new fans" will join us "old fans" to fill venues all over the place next spring and summer!

I don't know how these things are planned, but I do wonder if there would be enough time to promote the CD and still put together a Fall concert schedule!    :para

BUT, if Clay plans a concert tour for this Fall  . . gas up the Big Purple Bus !  :sonic

Tessie - in your earlier post, you menioned that if there were to be a fall tour, the venues would most likely be booked by this time.   That made me feel that there are no venues booked for Clay  . . . because wouldn't someone "spill the beans"  . . so to speak?  Even in a world that doesn't revolve around Clay?  (No sarcasm intended in this remark either).  I don't think Team Clay could control whether a certain venue mentioned which acts were on their upcoming schedule.  :wink

Regarding speculation about Clay's upcoming (?) tours---I'm not sure I could get very excited over a Christmas tour this year if the CD tour were to be delayed until after the first of the year.   I'm certainly hoping for a CD tour scheduled during the Holiday Season....I would happily forego my usual Christmas presents of Bath & Body Works Lotions, etc. for some front-row tickets at one of Clay's CD concerts.    :wink

Barbara and Tammy!!!! I had never thought of that before!! Many artists that put out a late in the year CD still tour and promote it in the following spring/summer...so anything is possible. I know some don't like comparisons much but if we look at country acts who release CDs late in the fall, they don't tour at all since touring season is over {except for holiday themed shows}. So, the more i think about it, the more i think Clay MIGHT wait until early next year to tour...but as was also mentioned, should he embark on a fall concert tour, i hope it's already been planned out by now...since we're hearing that the CD oughta arrive in September...according to rumors...and if that's the case, a single oughta arrive next month sometime....hopefully a commercial single so he can at least be on the national Sales charts again

Funny thing tonight.  When I got home and checked my e-mail I had several of the travel sites offering very special fares.  United even had a fare from RDU to Tampa of $101 RT.  Oh WHY can't we hear something while airfares seem to be halfway reasonable.

I won't be around too long tonight because for some reason  :scratch I stayed up too late last night.   After Clay's first blog I knew we were going to hear something last night so I stuck around until midnight and then I couldn't stay up any longer so I gave it up.  Very good news this morning though.

That has crossed my mind, too, Thea.  I know Clay has stated that he would like to make the JNT an "annual" event, but he certainly has been known to completely surprise us.  It would be so refreshing to have these very questions answered, once the new CD drops.   I just have a feeling he may completely focus on a concert tour as part of the new CD promotion.    The IT was almost 6 months AFTER his MOAM CD came out!

Wisconsin...I couldn't agree more that having dates already scheduled would indeed be a big secret to keep.  It is possible that they have booked things and listed them as TBA....booked with an executive at a venue....and information only available to one or two people until the time comes to make an announcement.  It all seem complicated, but it could be worked, and I am relatively positive that venue dates for artists are scheduled far in advance.  It doesn't seem likely that a venue would announce..."Oh, we bumped the Dixie Chicks/or whomever, because Clay Aiken wants to be here."

Frankly, I am not worrying about it too much because there isn't really anything I can do about it.  When the dates are announced, I will see what fits my schedule and work accordingly.

I guess if he decided to do a JNT, those who want to go will, and those who don't want to go, won't.  To me, it is just a choice as it is with any other artist....after all, there is no law saying that every time Clay has a concert, everyone has to go whether they want to or not.

Clay is proceeding with his career in the way he wants to.  We can go along for the ride....or choose not to....or choose bits and pieces.

It is so great to have all this stuff to discuss once again.  I for one will not make any plans for any trips until we hear what Clay has up his sleeve.  Hopefully then we will be able to get together like we haven't been able to do for quite a while.

The only trip I have planned this summer is to go to Dallas in August to visit my son.  That works out fine because I will have the whole fall with no plans and a little bit of vacation left.

I really don't care what kind of plans Clay makes just so long as it gives us a chance to see and hear him some time--some where.

I think that's a good idea.  I really hope we get a tour starting this fall.  I also think it would be a good idea to skip the JNT this year, but as you said maybe incorporate some Christmas music into the regular show.

I think he will tour in some capacity this fall/winter, whether it's a smaller tour and/or JNT. He did IT in the spring and then NAT in summer so he could do a tour this fall and then another in the spring/summer. As noted earlier they would know by then how the CD is selling.

I went to Kelly's "Breakaway" tour last spring, which was smaller in the staging if not in the venues. I think the venue size depended on the city. In Grand Prairie she was at Nokia, which isn't that small but isn't an arena. For the "Hazel Eyes" tour the staging was much bigger and the venues in most cities were bigger, but San Antonio wasn't (where I saw that show). So I guess what I'm saying is it is hard to know.   :lol

I would love a smaller staging and show. And he could add nights if needed. And I could do without another JNT (not that I wouldn't go  :wink).

Oh and did anyone read where Taylor Hicks, Katherine McPhee and Kellie Pickler (I believe) will all have their CDs released on November 14? That is interesting they would release them all on the same day. I guess they aren't worried about competing against each other (or maybe they do).

Well Gwenn, I see you have your power back.  Aren't you lucky!

We had the windstorm to end all windstorms yesterday with trees down everywhere and limbs flying and debris everywhere.  I have no power.  The EARLIEST the electric company says we MIGHT get it back is tomorrow at 8pm!  And when I have no power, I have no water.  So this morning I had to drive all the way to my parents (which took over an hour as opposed a half hour due to all the detours because roads were closed because of trees and wires down) so I could take a shower!  I think if they are right and I have no power until tomorrow I will go home, grab more clothes and Waldo and head to my parents for the night.  At least there I have water......  and a computer just in case I may need one!



Let's see, tour.  I suspect they have an idea of where they want to go and a tentative itinerary, but I am sure nothing is cast in stone until the release date is set firm.  Too many things can happen.  I also think if there is a fall tour it will be late October at the earliest (assuming the 9/19 release date is accurate) because my feeling is tickets will NOT go on sale until at least a couple of weeks after the CD is released.  The only people who would buy tickets before they hear the CD are his present fans and I suspect they would like to attract new fans to his concerts.

I also suspect there will be no JNT this year.  It would be too close to when his CD is released and any touring he does must be as promotion for the CD.  Now, if he is touring near Christmas, maybe he will change the show up a bit to include a few Christmas songs (so he can also plug MCWL - especially to any new fans), but I would be shocked - and more than a little disappointed - if he did a dedicated JNT this year.

But then again, what do I know.

I agree, CHRISTIE.  I will even put myself out on a limb to proclaim that if he does a "dedicated JNT" again this year, I will be attending one JNT concert in Chicago, at the very most.  As much as I love Christmas music, I am bored with the idea of once again seeing Clay on stage  in either the white suit or black suit crooning the same old, same old Christmas standards (there really isn't much new out there that's any good,IMO ).

Just putting in my two cents worth.  If there was time for only one concert, I would love it to be the tour promoting the new CD.  I went to JNT1 (absolutely loved it) and JNT2 (liked Clay's singing, but not the general format ... not as much of a rapport with the audience).  If there was a JNT3 I would still probably go....but we would all probably like a concert where we could really get revved up and dance around, and Christmas concerts aren't really the time for that!!  Bye for now.

After I saw the JNT2 in Camden, my very first thought was that it would make a most excellent television special for the Christmas holiday.  I wrote about it in the OFC blog at the time. I think with some quality production and staging, the effort would make more of an impact on TV. Without the visual of seeing all the sets moved around in the dark, and with some good camera work, I think it could become a most jolly annual holiday event.  Yes I do.

BTW, I posted some CD stuff I found in the CD thread down below.  Kind of interesting, if true.

I am rarely on at all lately! I'm getting all my world travels in before I have to go job hunting. So far, I've been from one end of TN to the other. Woo!

Bucky is rumored to be joining Sawyer Brown after the AI tour; he performed with them the other day at some festival. Kellie got a contract, Chris got a contract, and even Ace is rumored to be coming out with a CD of some sort next year.  I feel that Elliott will get signed, but maybe not right away.  I remember Kim Locke announced her contract with Curb Records very near the end of the AI2 tour, so maybe some good press will bring Elliott some attention. He was my Dad's favorite too.

Maybe because that isn't the release date!  Maybe it was one of the possible release dates, like June 20th was.  Maybe they don't have a firm release date yet.  After all, the CD was just finished this week!

I also don't believe Taylor, Katharine and Kellie will release albums all on the same day.

When RCA has the release date all firmed up, they will announce it.


Not that anyone cares, but I still don't have any electricity or water.  When I got home last night, with the idea of packing up some things and Waldo and heading to my parents, I called the electric company to see if there was any more news and they said it would be on by 8pm yesterday.  So I decided not to go.  My neighnor and I enjoyed a lovely meal cooked on her grill al fresco.  At 10:30pm still no electricity BUT the electric company now said by 11pm.  It was now to late to schlep over to my parents anyway so I waited until 11:30pm.  No electricity.  Called again.  The recording now said they had no clue when it would be fixed.  Woke up this morning.  The recording was now saying 8pm tonight - again.  I don't believe them.  There are still over 80,000 people without power and most are in my county.  So I packed up clothes for today and tomorrow, packed up Waldo and his litter box and went over to my parents prepared to stay the night.  My neighbor said she would call if the electricity came back on.  I figure since I schleped everything over to my parents, the electricty is sure to come on!

At least nothing is happening I need to know about, so I am not missing my computer!

Christie, you are not having a good summer between the "floods" you experienced last month, and now "no power".  I sure hope August is better for you, sweetie.

I'm hoping Elliott gets a recording contract.  I would absolutely buy his CD.   He was my favorite, and I'm looking forward to seeing him on Saturday. 

As far as a release date, I'm taking everything I hear or read with a grain of salt.  Unless I see it up on the RCA website or I hear it from Clay, everything else is just speculation or rumor.  I'm hoping that Sept. 19 will be the date, but I'm not getting my hopes up.....not yet.

I read last night that Dierks Bentley (who is a country singer; I've signed up to receive updates on him) has a new single out. It can be purchased on ITunes and it's on the radio (though I haven't heard it). In the email, it said that this song will be on his new album which will be out in November.

I guess my point in this is that it's interesting to see the different release dates for singles and CDs (seeing what Beyonce, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera have done with their release dates, it seems to be a 6-8 week period between). For Dierks that is a long time between each. I know that everything and every artist is different and doesn't have to follow a distinct pattern; I just thought that I would share this info.

Interesting. I've heard that expression as part of the  inner city drug culture. A person with a "JONES" is thought to have  a really  bad habit (heroin I believe)... There is also the referral to meeting..Mr. Jones...Same inference...

I've been busy on the phone as well as trying to get ready to go to Convention in Nashville on Sat.. I'm flying and leaving my girls in a kennel. Preparing to leave my  dogs and get their things ready for the kennel is a job in itself.. I'm ziplocking individual portions of food and vitamins and labeling each one.. Their favorite toys and chewies as well need labeling so they don't fight over them!!!And of course they each have their own "BOOK of INSTRUCTION" they come  with!!! :lmao..

I'm sorry you're going through a rough spot Christie.  I'd offer to share some of the water down here with you, but you probably would prefer to go without.  The lakes are so low down here in Texas that all the water smells like mold and they're telling everyone not to drink the water without boiling it first.

Surprisingly, I buy bottled water now.  Shocked?   :shocking

 Though that doesn't really help the smell of the clothes (from being washed in moldy smelling water) nor does it help body odor, as everyone smells like mold.  And those that don't smell like mold, smell like perfume or cologne, which likely kills those with allergies.

Hmmm... no wonder it seems like a lot of people are not coming to work.

And yes, it does crack me up that there is no OHH-fficial release date, but all the articles state it is September 19th.  Then again, some articles say Clay won American Idol and still have his father living and alive.

I still hate it - almost as much as the hair.  I hated it during the JBT and I still hate it! It is still sing-songy and plodding and the lyrics are still extremely banal.

Most likely all it is a the studio version, most likely recorded last year for the abandoned album.  He probably also did studio versions of BFM and maybe TRD and even possibly JY.  My feeling (and hope) is that this will not be on the CD.  They just finished everything and are holding everything so close to the vest, it just seems unlikely that a song from the album would be leaked so easily.  (And if this is what it is, I hope we have more leaks of the other JBT songs.....)

Unless of course they did it on purpose and this is the lead single in which case I have to say YUCK!  This song sound like everything on MOAM and everything everyone expects when they hear the name Clay Aiken - power ballad.  I can't believe after all this time that is what we would get.

Even the idea of it makes me very unhappy.  Bad hair and a bad song.

I think I just swallowed my tongue.

Anyway, this is a VERY rough version.  It sounds choppy in places, almost as if it has been spliced together.  I think it is either a VERY rough cut studio version or some clever and talented Clay fan was fooling with concert audio.

Well, I'll have to weigh in with my opinion when I get home.  My computer at work doesn't have speakers.  However, I always did like 1000 Days...at least, I liked the melody.  Wasn't sure if I understood the lyrics.  My favorite was Just You.  My opinion (not that I know anything) is that none of the songs he previewed last summer will make the album.

Add me to this list too. This is my fav song of the new ones we've heard so far. But I do have to say the spinning ball part could be different. But I do love it !!!!

Yes, his voice does sound good BUT the lyrics are unbelievably banal and the music is very, very plodding.  I have always said Clay can make a bad song sound decent.  He just shouldn't have to and IMO, this is a BAD song.

I want that great VOX to be singing really excellent songs!  This song is just what all who hear the name "Clay Aiken" expect - a sappy power ballad.  He deserves better.

Well I love this song. I always have. I had never heard it before I saw him in Indy last summer and it transfixed me. I do agree that the lyrics aren't great but I love the melody and the passion he puts in when he sings it, especially live. I posted a little negative response about this version on the OCD and felt bad but after reading your post, Christie, it's nothing compared to yours.  :wink :lol J/K

This version is a little rough. The background singers are off to me and it jumps from the chorus to the verses too quick. But I still love it. I love his voice.

I'm not sure if it will be on the new CD. I agree that it could be from last year and is out now because it doesn't matter. Or it could be have been leaked since all the fans know this song so it's nothing "new." They could want fan reaction (which are giving them  :lol) for a safe song. Who knows.

Wherever it's from, I like it.  I've always liked it. 

I think one thing we need to remember, is that these songs aren't new to us, but they are new to the general public.  Just because we decided to download several  :para concert versions and may be tired of the songs (which I am not) they are new to everyone else.

Both my kids, who are definitely NOT Clay fans, liked BFM.  My younger daughter's friend was in the car with us and she really liked it too.  So, I think that would be a good choice to put on the new CD.  Unless, as speculated, maybe everything from the JBT was scraped, and none of those songs made it.

Hmmm, well, I like this arrangement much better than the one last summer.  However, I hope this song (as well as the other three) are not on the CD.  These songs are "old".  They've been around almost a year.  We burned them to CD or DVD, and listened to them hundreds of times.  I want new songs and new covers.   If this song is on the CD, I surely hope it's not the first single.  To me, it's not radio friendly, and I can't see the DJ's (who already have a preconceived notion of Clay), playing this.  In my opinion, as good as it is, I don't think it's "astonishing" or "sung in a way we've never imagined". 

I, too, would like to know where this was "leaked" from. I'll bet it was a rough cut from last year, before the album changed direction.  If it's on the CD, I doubt very much that TC would "leak" this song when everything else has been kept under lock and key.   JMO!

If there was all new material on this album I guess I wouldn't mind one or maybe even two of the JBT songs (as long as one wasn't 1000 days.....), but if what he said in his April blog is still true, that the CD is mostly covers with just a few "gems" of new songs, then I don't want those few "gems" to be songs that to most of his fanbase are a year old.  I like BFM and JY and TRD, but they were nothing special.  There was nothing about them that to me show any growth from the songs on MOAM.  I would, however, love it if he made the studio versions of those songs (assuming there are studio versions of all the songs) available for download at the OFC, or even later on iTunes.  But on the CD, with so little room apparently for original material, I don't want any of them.

Basically I like the melody of A Thousand Days. When Clay sang it during JBT I thought 'it's rough, but he's just testing it out. If he uses it on his new CD it will be bigger & better - more jazzy instrumentation, a little faster, some shock & awe.'   I believe it the song has great potential if produced right. But what I just heard was the same ole same ole - slow, boring, and mundane. I'm hoping that was something a fan put together. It certainly was clearer than the JBT clack but still blah. I sure hope that isn't his new single.

I just don't think this song showcases his vocal ability.  I went back and listened to DLTSGDOM from AI5.  Now, that was an astonishing vocal.  People took notice (and not just because of the hair  :wink)  MCWL had astonishing vocals.  In my opinion, this doesn't.   This just sounds like everything that was on MOAM.  The instrumentals sound tinny.  The back-ups are certainly not Quianna, Angela, and Jacob caliber.  Maybe if these things were tweaked, I don't know.  If that is a studio version, I certainly expected more.

I'm sure I'll be happy with it. I think Clay has a beautiful voice, and I look forward to hearing his latest work.

My expectations of "greatness" haven't increased with every passing day and every new delay. I've got my own life going on here; I can't obsess over what "should" or "should not" be going on in the life/career of someone I don't even know.

And I don't de-construct each note, word, etc., looking for slip-ups or less-than-perfect moments. Nor would I feel a sense of victory if I found one.

I'm not that much of a control freak. :lol

Well, I do have to say I LOVE THE BREATHINESS in this version.  Throw in a growl or two, and we'll have a winner!   :lol  What I think I don't like about it is the twanginess of the instrumentals.  I think Clay's voice would shine more with different accompaniment.  Maybe I need to listen a few more dozen times!   :wink

Fear not, TESSIE.  Many of us will be ecstatic with the new CD.  After all, it will have been a labor of love and an expression of what's in the soul of this beautiful man Clay Aiken.   I am a musician...a pianist.  I perform mainly as an accompanist for vocalists and sometimes for vocal and/or instrumental ensembles.  When it comes to my own performances, I am extremely hypercritical.  However, when it comes to music that I listen to for pure pleasure (define that as you may... :slick) and relaxation, I absolutely refuse to be so critical and intellectual in my approach .  To say that I am waiting for the healing balm of Clay's voice to calm my stressed out, neurotic psyche would be an understatement.  As many say on Critical Mass....BRING IT ON, baby!!!

I've always loved 1000 days it was on of my favorite new ones he sang last year.

His voice is so pure and the track isn't overproduced.

I wish we could actually find out where this version came from.   I tend to think it was a studio version demo.   :scratch

More than likely there will be songs on the CD that do not appearl to all of us.  Some of us like 1000 Days, some of us do not.  No one usually likes every song on a CD.  I don't think I'll be disappointed when the CD is released.  We've waited a long time, and I'll be happy to hear new music from a man whose voice I love.  I'm not expecting to like everything, but maybe I will.  There were songs from MOAM I didn't particularly like, but once I saw them performed in concert, it changed my mind.  I am anxious to hear some new music, and if some of the songs from the JBT are on the CD, that's okay with me too.  Like I said, I'm not expecting to like everything.  I do know I would love to hear some growly lower register Clay.  That would make me happy!!!!

I most likely will be happy with the CD overall.  But that does not mean I will like everything on it.  There were songs I skipped on MOAM and MCWL, and songs I hated that he did in concert.  But overall I was very satisfied.  Satisfied enough to have been to something like 25 concerts! I just don't believe a prerequisite to being a Clay fan is loving everything he sings or does or says or wears or even liking his hair!  You can love someone despite your differences, despite their faults (like that hair!  :wink) and despite not liking everything they do.  And when your opinion varies from theirs or you don't like a choice they make or something they do, I don't see anything wrong with stating that.

Some of his fans may be disappointed in this album.  Some will love every little thing about it.  Some will like parts of it and other parts not so much.  All that is ok.  Different strokes for different folks.  I think we all can agree on one thing - Clay has an amazing voice.  Unfortunately that doesn't mean you will always love everything that amazing voice sings!

Hell, he doesn't even love everything his amazing voice sings!  I hear he wasn't too fond of on eof the songs from MOAM song.  Remember TOUCH?  :lol

THIS HAS BEEN AN INCREDIBLY BUSY DAY AND I JUST GOT ONTO THE COMPUTER.  I LISTENED ONCE TO THIS 1KDAYS VERSION.  I LIKED IT.  IT IS ROUGH.  ERICA LIKED IT A LOT.  IT PROBABLY WAS SOMETHING JF AND CLAY WORKED ON TFOR THE DEFUNCT CD.  I LOVE THE BREATHLESSNESS.  LOVED THAT.  THIS WAS NOT A FINAL VERSION FOR SURE, BUT I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT IS DIFFERENT.  AT THIS POINT, DIFFERENT IS GOOD.

BUT I DOUBT IT IS FROM THE CD.  I REALLY DON'T THINK WE WILL GET ANY OF THE SONGS FROM THE JBT.

I JUST WANT THE VOX TO "WRAP AROUND MY HEART."  AND I WANT THE REST OF THE NONCLAY WORLD TO FEEL WHAT WE FEEL.  IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?

I really liked hearing this version of A Thousand Days.  The gal who created the montage said she got it from limewire about 4 months ago.  Based on that I think it was probably recorded last fall before/during/after the JBT.  The biggest part I liked about this version is you could understand all the lyrics and it seemed to flow more.  I prefer to focus more on the positives than the negatives.  Everyones views/opinions are different based upon their personality.  Some are optimists, some are pessimists, some are realists.  We just have to respect everyone's opinion which makes for good discussion.  :smile

Hello everyone,  I got power finally after 2 days and read this thread about the leak.  I agree with those who think that this was a demo from last summer when Clay was working on the songs.  It does not sound as developed as the way he sang it on the JBT.  I liked it on the tour because he really sang his face off as Randy says.  After the glory note , on the tour he growled out the words and the backups came in together it just sounds so much better at that part , although sometimes Clay would get scratchy voice then.  But Angela, Jacob and Qiana would join him and it sounds more developed at that point especially.  I had to listen to the tour version again to compare.  AS someone said ,  the sound of his voice and the loud music reminded me very much of the songs on MOAM.  I hope that this is not the sound on the cd.  His voice sounds altered , not full like live.   If 1000days is on the cd  it would be o.k. but I hope for better and something we have not heard yet.    :bouncy

Interesting viewpoints.  As I recall, lots of people didn't care too much for this song last summer.  It wasn't my favorite.  I like ballads, but this sounds more like a dirge to me.  And, it's kind of sad too, you know?

I doubt this song will be on the CD, especially this version.  The instrumentation is seriously lacking, and the production doesn't sound tight at all.  Sounds like a demo track to me.  JMO, but I don't think any of the new songs from the JBT will be on the CD.

I am very curious as to how it got on Limewire though.... I think someone screwed up somewhere!  Come on buddy, leak something else!

i do hope that the stuff on the new album is better than this, it really does sound like a demo. i think it would have been better with different instrumentals. i think thats what killed the song on this version. otherwise, i like it.  :wink

Well, it's 2:39 am and I just downloaded the new 1000 Days I thought it sounded a lot like the MOAM stuff. I don't think this is ready for the CD. I like the song okay but It needs more growly angst for it to work and back up needs to be better. I do think all of the songs he tried out will be on the CD.

I rather hear new than covers, I hope there are not a lot of covers. But in the end I'll buy and play whatever Clay puts out, it is his career so he has to do what he feels is best.

Wish we had a real confirmation and some appearances. I am ready.

Very interesting discussion we're having.  I love hearing everyone's opinions!  I agree that this is probably a demo cut from last year.  I doubt it's a finished version on the CD.  I wouldn't mind 1000 Days being on the CD, but I hope it's more polished than this one.  (Although, I do love hearing Clay's voice on it)!  He sure does sing nice, doesn't he?? :sigh   I imagine I will like (or love) most of what's on this album.  After all, it is Clay, and we all know he can sing the crap out of anything.  I'm just hoping the production doesn't over-power the vocals (like MOAM).

My 2 cents..

Over produced, underproduced, too much instrumental, not enough, a ballad, not growly, breathy...I could go on and on.

It amazes ME, myself and I that even though this is clearly not a final cut..(sounds like Clay singing along karoke style to the "demo" singer version, to me)..I could barely contain my excitement over hearing "it", whatever "it" is and however it got there.

I can be an emotional person (like..gushy, mushy)..sometimes, but not usually. I am a realistic person, not an optomist by any means. I call them as I see them...

I was clearly "moved" by the fact that THIS was Clay. Period. His voice and its tones were good to me..I loved the "breathy" soft parts..he has really great control over it. It amazes me how he can be singing along full bore and then it becomes this soft, whisper sort of sound. (gives me chills)

I don't know if this goes with the CD or not..the whole "1000" thing links them together in a strange way but it doesn't mean it is part of it. I won't be dissapointed if it is....I am sure I will listen to it.

My initial reaction was that I liked it. It is still my reaction. I toned out, so to speak, the background and listened to Clays voice. Whether he put enough "emotion" into it is a persons opinions, but I surely didn't think it was bad.

I am glad it was there at the end of my day. It sure gave me a thrill to have heard it....I look forward to any thing else Clay has to "give" us..whether he meant to or not.

Another day, another day with no power or water!  :bang  Today's message said Friday at 8pm.  Of course yesterday in the morning they said Thursday at 8pm and on Wednesday they said Wednesday at 8pm.......  Waldo and I spent last night at my parents where at least I had running water, lights and a computer!  Unfortunately, the bed I had to sleep on was like sleeping on cement....  My back is killing me!

I decided this morning to once again listen to 1000 Days.  Yup.  Its right up there with the hair in my opinion - AWFUL!  As Pamela said, it does kind of remind one of a dirge!  I always hated this song.  I know its Clay singing but I get no joy over him singing what I think is an awful song.  It just seems like such a waste of the VOX.  His voice doesn't shine on it at all.  It is just such a waste of such an amazing voice, IMO.

I also have decided it won't be on the CD (not that I have anything to say about it...  :lol).  I don't think any of the JBT songs will be and that would make me very happy.  They are all year old songs to me and with supposedly only a few spots open for original material, I want new new material - and better material than anything we heard last year.  As much as I liked BFM, TRD and JY, none were very distinguishing.  All could have been on MOAM.  None highlighted his voice. 

However, I sure wouldn't mind studio versions or demos of them leaking or (*my dream*) if he had them available for download at the OFC!

Thanks, Meesa, for bringing that over.  It's heartwarming to see Clay's dream become a reality.  Sounds like everyone who attended the camp had a wonderful time this summer.  I wish, in my younger years, I took the time to be a camp councilor.  I feel like I kinda missed out on an amazing experience.  Kudos to all who give of their time to make these camps a success.

I am hoping I can volunteer again next summer for more than a day. Like you said Micki, seeing Clay's dream become a reality is heartwarming. And I sure hope we can see more camps appear next year. So far there are 4 : Concord, Raleigh, Olathe/Kansas City and Indiana.

Is there something besides your own perceptions by which you can view someone you don't know?

It was a very, very windy storm that lasted all of a 1/2 hour!!!  Where I live was one of the hardest hit areas.  Originally there were over 300,000 people without power in the tri-state area!  Its down to like 30,000 now.  I just happen to be one of the 30,000!  They have even called in for reinforcements from other states - including NC!!  I think because I live in the country they are leaving us for last!  The only time we ever lost power longer than this was after a major blizzard - and that was really bad because they couldn't get out to plow our driveway for days so we were stranded!  Oh the joys of country living!  :rolleyes

I didn't say "view" I said "define!"  :smile  Sure, we view everyone according to our own perceptions; but we have no right to define a person unless we know them personally, know what makes them tick, how they think, the circumstances of their life, and most especially, why they make the choices they make.  As in, people who would be surprised to learn that Sting may be arrogant.  He has the capability of being arrogant, just like any other Joe Blow, or any other creative genius.  (JMO on the creative genius part...I like Sting!)  I don't care if he is arrogant.... I like his music. 

If I were his friend I might care though. :wink

I just found out I won't have any electricty until Sunday night - if then!!!  I just called my answering machine to see if by chance there was a message from the electric company saying my power was back and instead I got one saying that the damage to my area was worse than they thought so the earlier estimates of when power would be restored were wrong (DUH!!!) and that they were working around the clock yada yada yada and they HOPED power would be restored by Sunday night!  Then they said they realize it was an inconvience and thanked me for my patience!  Like I have a choice?? 

You know, I am lucky my parents live in the same area (sort of - they are like 40 minutes from me) as me and can take me in.  I have no water.  I couldn't stay at home if I wanted.  I would have to check in a hotel with my cat and I certainly cannot afford that! 

I now have to schelp home and gather up stuff for the weekend - and I guess I better bring clothes for work Monday just to be safe.  When I do get home, I will have a mess of dishes with dried up food and it will be hot and moldy (I have to run a dehumidifier downstairs because it is so damp).  YUCK!  I took most of my food to my mother's (luckily I didn't have much), but still.......

I love my parents but the thought of spending the entire weekend with them is not making me happy.  I love my weekends where I can sleep late and not get dressed til some ridiculous hour in the afternoon and watch what I want on TV or listen to whatever music I want etc, etc, etc.  I haven't spent this much time with my parents since I moved out many moons ago.

I am not happy.

If I have to temporarily move in with someone, why can't it be Clay??????

Here's the difference, to my way of thinking. You may observe an arrogant behavior and come to the conclusion they were arrogant at that moment.  But to define a person you have observed, but don't know, and say that person IS an arrogant person in general, seems closeminded to me.  Just like the people who say "Clay would never say that!" or "Clay would never do that!" That's not fair to Clay or to anyone really, IMO, because unless you know a person over a period of time, you don't really know what they might do or say.  And like Lorrie said, you could know them inside and out and still not be able to define them!  :lol

It was 110 here yesterday. And the 2 days before that. It rained for like 30 minutes today and now it's a little cooler.

Marion, have a grand time in Music City TN!  If you get to go downtown, be sure to check out the Wild Horse Saloon and the Bluebird Cafe.  Ray Lamontagne is at the Ryman Saturday night, and the Aquarium restaurant at Opry Mills Mall is a fun place to eat!

Christi, I can't believe what you are going through! You would think that in this day and age power problems would be rare but it seems like the power companies don't upgrade their power lines to handle todays needs.

We had a downpour late in the afternoon, only about 1/2 hour. My son Brian was driving home form work and saw what flash flooding was. He had to drive down what is known as the Seven Sisters Hills. At the bottom of each hill was a major flood. People at the bus stops were standing on the benches because the water was that high and when a bus stopped they couldn't (or wouldn't) get into the bus. This road is a 4 and sometines 5 lane street with a big crown in the middle and the only way he made it home was driving down the middle of the road.

Southern California, but it feels like Death Valley.  It gets hot here in the summer, but this is ridiculous.  They are saying tomorrow it's going up another 5 degrees.  It's just about 10:00 at night and it's still close to 90.  It's awful!!!  But, at least we aren't having horribly high humidity, unlike you people from Raleigh.  :smile  Is that why Clay wears all those layers, to keep the sweat in?

Suppose to be 110 hear today it is about 75 now, usually it would be about 60.
 Rain would be nice, but not happening  here in California, it would be a startling if it rained in July.

Well I'm off to watch my 4 year old Grandaughter until tuesday. My son-in-laws 53 year old brother died off massive heart attack. They funeral is about 6 hour drive from their house. I feel so bad for my son-in-law. His siblings all have addiction problems, and diabetes. Mom, Dad, and three brothers have died and David is only 43. He is such a great guy, and he feels so responsible and guilty about his family. OHH sorry I got carried away.

Christy, noe electricity , sucks big time. What are you doing for refigeration? Hope it comes up soon than they said.

Last night I attended a reunion of sorts with my cousins and their kids, and their kids!  Anyway, I mentioned I would have to start looking for a job pretty soon, and my second cousin said "I thought you worked for Clay Aiken?"

A tentative woo hoo!  I called the electric company this morning and they said power had been restored to my area!!

I would be excited, but I am not sure I believe them and my neighbor isn't home, so I guess I just have to trust them.

Of course, they are predicting severe thunderstorms with damaging winds this afternoon and evening.  I will probably go home, get everything unpacked and the storms will hit and I will lose power again!!!  Maybe if I keep everything packed and ready to go it will insure I will keep my power.....  :lol

I had brought what little food I had in my refrigerator to my mothers.  I think until these storms tonight pass, I won't but any more food - just in case.

I am actually going to hang here at my parents a little while longer and then check with Peco (our electric company) again - just to make sure.

It's definitely going to be a hot one here again today, it's already 90 and it's only 9:27.  I guess I may be forced to just sit in front of the computer.
