Thanks Tiffany.  I've been to other concerts that allowed flash and they went off like crazy but we still got the whole concert.  It upsets me when he gets mad, I feel like its personally my fault and I want to tell him I am sorry - ok, I just want to hug him  :roflmao

Lori- I have to agree in the CM thread what you said. I didn't get Good News either in DC. I would just rather them ban cameras all together if Clay is deciding if you flash you don't see Good News. He sang it at every concert last year.

I really don't think it is going to be THAT long.  We all survived 7 months drought this year so I think we will make it through!  I think it will be sooner than what we think.  But I'm the eternal optimist too!  :lmao

I think deciding whether or not to perform GN because of flashing, is pompous!  Why should the entire audience be punished?  Personally, I don't want cameras to be totally banned in the future.  They just need to kick out the people who think they are above the rules.

I still think that "time" is more the issue than the flashing.  I think "flashing" gets used as an excuse in the hopes that it will be even more "discouraged" in the future.

Hey Lorrie- I agree that the whole audience shouldn't be punished. We heard last night that the ushers were going to kick someone out of they used flash. I didn't think there was a lot of flash problems last night from what the cellstreamer said but they said it was a problem and that's why he didn't sing GN.

I agree. I think in DC it was a time issue, as well.  IMO, I can't imagine Clay "punishing" his fans.

Newland's report:

She and Alison had been emailing as Newland had done theater there for 10 years and asked her what she was using for theater group. Alison asked her to do the show and so Newland contacted the director of the theater group.

Her biggest fear was that they would get people who didn't like Clay but everyone was a fan and excited to be doing it. They knew from the descriptions that they would not get actually see much of the show.

Allison is a riot. Newland said she is just the way she remembered her. She has a laugh that is very fun. You can tell that they had been on this tour a looonnnng time.

She said this (quotes with fingers) an angel who earns his wings. Yeah, it's really cheesy (big laugh).

They do small parts and an accompany part to DSIAFCD. Everyone strained to learn Christmastime and she let them watch an LA rehearsal video to see where they were supposed to stand. The song is actually tough to sing. They did that 10 times.

DSIAFCD: Newland was only one who had heard the song before. They rehearse to just the backing track. Allison sang Clay's part but she has a cold. She did the Hug is warmer and did Oh Baby that's a fact as Elvis and she said "That is where audience comes in screaming". Anytime there would be normal audience screaming, Allison pretended to scream.

They goofed on every time, they "don't get it'. (My opinion-they just see him as regular Clay).

They must have 9-10 year old boy to mirror cookie making scene and a 20 year old girl to mirror Beverly.

They continued to learn the CT parts. It is actually pretty complicated. They rehearse without music first and then with music.

At 4 PM Clay was due on stage to go through the first number with them to do blocking. Clay did not rehearse with them. Allison walked through his part so that they would know where to walk. No word on why he didn't rehearse.

So what you saw in the concert, that was the only time they did it with Clay on stage. Constantly drilled into them that they cannot see the angel.

Group had no clue as to what interactions with Clay they would have.
People didn't have things to sign so they bought merchandise! The theater group was very excited even though they could not see the show from backstage. You can't really hang out in the wings. They did get to meet him and get things signed and a group picture.

Heather, I didn't hear an exceptional growl, but then again I was thinking about food.

They didn't get to meet WJ. Lots of waiting.

They were told that they will get to meet Clay at the break between William's set and the start of the show. Allison put them in the order of how it would look good for the picture. Newland is short so she was toward the front.

Clay went to each person to learn their name. He shakes Newland's hand and says "Oh, Real name, here again. He looked at the whole group and said "she's stalking us". Allison said "he's kidding".

He said "so you're from Orlando?" They yelled "Melbourne!". He asked them about their shows and when Newland didn't answer he said "you're not even with this group!". Allison said "she used to live her". Newland said "I live in Annapolis, MD" and Clay said "wealthy?" BWAH!

Lots of pictures taken. He kneeled down between the two little kids. They will sign them later.

Clay's group did their prayer circle and the theater group did their prep circle.

Patricia was great and such fun to work with. She told them how to hold the caroling book "with her Australian accent" as demonstrated by Newland on this cellcert.

She told them that "you will think the audience is cheering us but Clay comes out behind us and they are cheering him!"

Allison told them that if they forget the words just keep repeating "watermelon, ruttabaga" over and over because it makes your mouth move.

Alison kept calling the little boy "Cookie boy". He was nervous but after the scene, he said "I kicked their butts!"

Then - - -   the intermission that we are in right now ---    Sometimes that takes a very long time!  I know some of you are knowledgeable about the Meet and Greets and the Hub-Stub meets!   Isn't there one of those going on during THIS intermission - --  or am I very confused?? :para

Just saying - - - At some point in the tour, has Clay or Team Clay changed things which have resulted in a big rush to get off the stage toward the end???

Can I have a hug and a TV dinner? :lmao

After CMH, the curtain got a little stuck. Clay and A/Q dropped character too soon! The theater group does a lot of swaying!

Intermission was very long so they change into their church clothes.

She feels they were planning to do GN as they did it in the rehearsal. They were very adament about keeping their passes as security in Hollywood was very lax and they were upset. (Must have really pissed Clay off when the people snuck back.)

Second Act recap:

They seemed to have to wait a long time to go out to the pews. Angela was trying to show Clay a backstretching exercise while they were waiting. Clay was laughing about his shoes. The exercise didn't work so he lay down on the riser! Guy behind Newland was upset that the white suit was going to get dirty.

In the pews it is sit and freeze, sit and freeze. Not supposed to see the angels so can't look at him. Allison told them they would be tempted to look up but don't look up.

You know when he starts rushing through the intros, there will be no Good News. When he rushed through the banter, she knew it.

When in Florida they wouldn't stop clapping, they kind of panicked. They hadn't planned it for Hollywood, just Melbourne. they didn't get off the stage til like 10 to 11:00. She doesn't care what Jerome says, she didn't think it was flashing. From standing behind the curtain, she could see the flashes, but there weren't a lot. There were like 30 people in the M&G.
