Pamela - I'm finally glad the N&O is getting with the program.  It's about time they give him more than just token coverage.  I subscribe to the N&O but didn't get the page that was suppose to be in it on the day of the Cary show.  Maybe it's because I don't get the local edition--I get an earlier state edition.

Here is a new attendance report.  Seems to be a contridiction to what we heard before, but I like this one better!

fivegoldens venue report is the floor is full, the bowl is about 2/3rds full, and the upper bowl is scattered people. Hasn't met anyone from CV yet. Will look for CVers during intermission at the intermission.

Wanted to share this story from a lucky fan that got to be part of the show in Baltimore.

Okay so we went there at 2pm and met Alison Lawrence...for more info see page 101 of his book. She is the infamous "mean Ms. Lawrence", his high school voice teacher.

Alison was lovely. She was the production manager/drama director and all around Woman Friday. She asked me early on if I was the president of the fan club...I guess Margaret ratted me out. I said no, but that I was a HUGE fan. While giving us instructions she would say things like "and this is when Clay enters and the crowd starts to scream" and I said "and three ladies in the front row pass out"... We had a laugh between us and the other people thought we were kidding, until the show started.

When all the extras were assembled we went on stage to rehearse. That was fun. His dancers walked us through the opening number and the closing number of act 1. Fairly simple, but a lot of movement. Quiana and Angela were there for much of this.

Once we had it down, took about an hour...Clay came out and met everyone. He was very nice shook hands, asked our names and spent about 10-15 mins talking to us very casually about the theater company, were we were from...etc. And then we rehearsed with him singing with us. I know he is a pale red head, but upclose his skin is almost translucent. He also came out unshaven...you know I love that look. He was wearing that grey sweater with the different color trim..His hair is super light now and they put a blonde section in the front. He was goofing off a little, but at the same time he seemed very professional. Then we ran it through one more time with out him.

We took a short break and came back to learn act II. Which we were on the stage the entire time for. Once we had it down Clay came out again and he and the girls rehearsed with us. He was being really funny and decided that he didn't want to sing and so he handed his mike to Quiana and sat RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. I could have touched him. He was talking to Alison about something and giggling that so adorable giggle. AHHHH... He did sing a bit of O Holy Night. Even half voice the sound was incredible.

We then were taken back to our dressing room. I got to go upstairs to buy some stuff. It was so cool...I went to the lobby flashed my CLAY AIKEN TOUR BADGE...and got let right in. It was like 6:30 and people were already in the waiting area. When I came back out someone asked me if I was in the show and I got to say YES. Now that was cool

We ate dinner, not with Clay. There was a decent menu. Roast beef, Chicken, fish, pasta, veggies, red beans and rice, and for dessert pecan pie (there were some other things too) We went back to the dressing room got dressed and put our makeup on and headed for the stage. Alison met us and took us upstairs...

AND THEN THE SHOW STARTED!!!!

We were not on stage for much of the first act, but as I mentioned we were on stage for the second act. This was church setting and we were sitting in pews Clay and the girls were on the stairs above us. When he sang the sound just floated down to us. It was amazing. I was maybe 15 ft from him. You know his voice is amazing, but it is crystal clear from 15 ft. I can't even describe it to you. Clay played an angel in this piece and I am sure that if an angel sang it would sound like that.

It was really amazing. I was the only "Fan" there everyone else was just there. They knew who he was but I know for them it was a little different.

I got to take a group photo only. Well, one was taken for me...with my camera so I was in the shot. I am hoping that someone on the Clay Board comes through with video for me. That would be absolutely amazing.

his voice still just soars thru the bad connection.. crowd yelling.. someone please fix this connection.. I need to hear him bad...better in spots.. he does seem to be in fine form.. all 72 inches of pure man...now nothing at all..

MCWL..seasons ago.. children...the..all around...this year..no reason to....trim the tree...thats all I am hearing about every 5th word...anyone wanta cry with me..boy what I do hear is really good..very powerful and strong..everyone few seconds he just belts right thru the airways and blow you away...

Clay must be watching rubbing those fingers together nice and gentle...must be in the white suit from angels .. or we would have heard already..he has to be smiling. hear some laughter from the crowd..

Hey Jerry- you might be gone but I just read your post.

Even the "affair" I am having with Clay is in my MIND. When I first signed up, I actually started with using the screen name "ClayAffairInMyMind"....it's a true story. It was a little wordy though and I changed it to something that I thought "flowed" better- hence HavinaClayAffair.

Besides- his woman, Raleigh...wouldn't like me very well. I would rather be friends.

I am downloading some of the Cincy concert I attended-as well as Jerry. Still..after watching those and then watching others...it really wasn't the same. I still feel the sound system played some sort of roll.

Ya know what though?? If half the performers out there sounded as good as Clay does on an "off"...(questionable, I know) night...they should be so lucky.

Oh yeah..I read Ashley Simpson "collapsed" just off stage in Tokoyo after her concert. Told the crowd she was sick...and collapsed in an elevator. It said she hospitalized.

The gal really ought to give up singing for a career. Stick to acting- it seems a bit safer for her.

Jingle Bells and Merry Christmas With Love were great...even at Cincy.

As I was watching my downloads- it is like night and day between the other songs and DSIAFC. The sound is very different. Like they really did turn it up. I have downloaded only one persons videos so it is from the same place in the venue all the way thru.

I know I am nuts most of the time..but I am sane some of the time. I still say there was something different with the sound.

they are still out of control as the music to GN starts to play.. how wonderful.. and he appears from the darkness.. drapped in black.. with the glow of soft gold that lays over his body..he looks to the heavens..hands..lifted to God.. he stands tall and convicted in his beliefs.. bended kneeee.. sound fading but can stil hear the voice of the angel finding its way thru space..good newwwwwwwwsss good newssss.. just takes the air right out of you body and leave you content savoring the experience of his glory.. every breath he takes is released with the sounds of the heaven.. laced with star dust that trickes thru the air and effects everything it touches.. just beautiful.. chilling and so heart wrenching.. tempo picking up.. we break the bread we pour the wineeeeeee.. and angels...decend heavenly bound.. good newwwwssss good newwwwwwwwwwwsss.. an angel brings good news.. the crowd has to be mesmerized caught in his spell..and no way out.. oooooooohhhhhhh I bring you good newwwss. .an angel brings good new.. good newwwsss good newwss as he raise the tempo and sails back down.. I leave you with goodddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd newwwwwwwwwwssssssssssssssssss ..... and he is gone..  

Sorry, but I had to leave for a few minutes.  I have one verrrry happy son and DIL right now.  Appalachian State just won the IAA National Football Championship.

Boy do I have good timing or what??  :lol  I just got home from shopping.  I'm pooped!  I wish I could have heard the concert tonight instead of fighting the crowds!!

Talking to a Stub Hub winner right now.

When Clay came in the room he was talking to Jerome and told him that there was a lady in a teal shirt in the 7th row on the end that was flashing.   :lol 

She also feels that he has a cold.  He was talking more quietly than normal. 

He was in a great mood though and was nice as could be. 

The whole M&G probably lasted 10 or 12 minutes.

He ribbed Nashville a lot. They ate at Monells (sp?). Q & A went back 4-5 times today.

They are beautifying someone for a M&G.

He mentioned having Thanksgiving in Louisville. A bunch of people clapped and he looked shocked. "Apparently, there are more people from Louisville here than Nashville."

During DSIAFCD, he hugged Gregory to him during the line about the child. Gregory reached up behind Clay to try to tussle Clay's hair and he ended up pulling it. Clay gave him the stink eye. .*g*

One girl flashed during banter and he said "you're going to get all these claymates all over her". Security took her camera and everyone cheered.

GN one flash and everyone gasped. Security walked right in front and took her camera too!

GOOD MORNING EVERYONE.  JUST GOT THROUGH READING THE PAGES FROM LAST NIGHT'S CELLCERT.  IT SURE SOUNDS LIKE OUR BABY IS GETTING A COLD.  MAYBE HE NEEDS RAINEY TO WIPE HIS NOSE OR SOMETHING. 

PAM - LOVE THAT NEW AVIE.  PRETTY SOON OUR HONEY WILL BE HEADING YOUR WAY.  SURE WISH I WAS RICH AND COULD HAVE COME AND SEEN HIM IN N.C.  WELL NEXT YEAR I WILL BE BACK.  ALSO GLAD TO HEAR HE SANG GOOD NEWS.
