I believe Joe Diffie recorded a version of it as did Randy Travis. Not many people want to release it as a single because the Elvis version is the most-recognized. There is a comedy version of the song by Seymour Swine and the Squealers. It's played every year on the country stations around Christmas time as is Elmo and Patsy's "Grandmaw Got Run Over by a Reindeer". Whoever did the Seymour Swine recording, is imitating Porky Pig.
