    Gwenn,
I can sympathize with Barry, I was diagnosed  several years ago with spinal stenosis,
and  I am in constant pain. Some days and nights worse than others.

Doctors have recommended surgery several times but I had a triple bypass 9 years ago and
my heart is deteriorating so I have said no to surgery However, my doctor"s Mother has had this
done and did fine, also my friend. The pain never goes away.

It"s important to get a doctor who knows what he is doing and I would definately get a second
                    opinion.

                                       Prayers for you both.

WHAT IS INTERESTING IS THE DOCTOR SAID HE ONLY DOES SURGERY OF THE PAIN IS IN THE LEGS.  IF IT IS IN THE BACK, HE SAYS LOSE WEIGHT AND GO TO PHYSICAL THERAPY.  LEAVE IT TO BARRY TO HAVE SOMETHING LIKE THIS.

Gwenn, I'm so sorry for Barry.  I hope the surgery will bring him relief.

Yes, Sharon, it is good news that I sold the house, but I'm sad because I love my home and my neighbors.  Without them, I could not have remained in this house as long as I have.  I have many good memories, and it will take awhile to get used to the change.  I'll be living with my brother.  His house is very handicap accessible, so it's the perfect solution.  I'll be fine.  It's just that I never imagined my life would change so drastically in one year.  But, I have to look forward, and hope that there's light at the end of the tunnel.

I see there's still no news for you ladies hoping to attend the PBS concert.  Should I also be making meatloaf or banana bread, or whatever?

       Gwenn,
I have never heard that before it must be a different procedure.

Seeing I weigh 114lbs and have had physical therapyI don't

know what my answer is. I was told the leg pain starts from

                            the back,

HE'S KILLING ME!!!!!!

« Reply #1631 on: February 12, 2010, 04:57:53 AM »

MORNING LADIES--

BETTY--YOU ARE RIGHT.  THE LEG PAIN DOES COME FROM THE BACK.  THE DOCTOR SAYS THE CAUSE IS THAT THE BACK NATURALLY NARROWS AS WE AGE.  BUT BARRY'S PROBLEM IS CONGENTIAL.  HIS BACK IS THAT OF A MAN 20 YEARS OLDER.  HE WAS BORN WITH NARROWER CANALS IN MANY AREAS OF HIS BODY AND NOW, AS HE IS AGING, THOSE CANALS ARE NARROWING NATURALLY BUT BECAUSE THEY STARTED SMALLER, HE CONTINUALLY NEEDS TO HAVE THEM REPAIRED.  I KNOW THIS IS TRUE CAUSE HE IS DIFFICULT TO INTIBATE AND WEARS A MEDIC ALERT BECAUSE OF IT.  HE ALSO HAD EXTREMELY SMALL CARPAL TUNNELS IN HIS HANDS.  I FEEL BAD FOR HIM, BUT I FEEL BAD FOR ME.  I STINK AS A NURSE AND THIS SURGERY SCARES ME TO DEATH.

I USED TO WEIGH 114 ALSO.  BEFORE I TRIED TO GET PREGNANT.

MAYBE TODAY IS THE DAY?

SOME ERRANDS TO RUN BUT THINGS ARE REALLY GONNA SLOW DOWN HERE.  I MAY GET BORED, BUT THE PAST COUPLE OF MONTHS HAVE BEEN NUTS.

          Gwenn,
I"m sorry, I did"nt understand that Barry has  more congential issues.

Having  narrowing in the back canal would  be more complicated and I
can understand his pain.I realize it is very wearing on your nerves and
also very worrying,  hope it can be corrected successfully and soon.

The only reason I said I only weigh 114lbs was because of the doctor
saying lose weight, I would lose the bit of muscle I still have.Ain"t much!

You need a trip to Raleigh for who knows what???

48 hours for the fan club members to get tickets. Like it'll take that long.

I wonder if they'll put a limit on how many tickets one person can get. I hope so....

Wow! Interesting Ticketmaster has it up before the OFC does. Not surprised though. doh Clay was wrong. Laughing So fan club tickets go on sale Tuesday and then to the public next Friday. They don't mention if it's the PBS special but I bet it could be. Maybe we can get more info later today from Clay since the word is out now. I'm going to go if I can get a ticket. I'm staying in Durham. Can't wait to see you all. Good luck to us all getting tickets. Fingers Crossed

Sunny-They usually do.

I thought PBS tickets were free. Is this to keep out the riff-raff?

It won't work.
