Gwenn~ Check your PMs  Thanks!

Suze It was good hearing from you. Its been a long time.

I am so sorry that so many are having weather problems. I was born & raised in WV and we had many snow falls, but I don't think I've ever seen any as bad as what is going on in the northeast right now. WOW!!!
We had some pretty brutal winds today in Raleigh, and if you had to be out in it ,it seemed to just chill you to the bone..Not good weather to be in with bad arthritis. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
There are camillas starting to bloom on our neighbors bush, which is a good reminder that Spring will indeed come..I wonder if that will also be a Clay SOON  Laughing

I was sure hoping for the big announcement today, but will have to wait another day it appears.

This blizzard was unbelievable. I can handle all  we deal with from it including the  the work and cold, with one exception. When I went out in my yard to walk the dogs, it was so sad..Several of my lovliest trees on  the property  were severly damaged and have lost huge limbs. They just got weighted down with the huge amounts of wet snow and cracked.. When everything melts I need to bring someone to cut things down so that they will be safe. It just totally ruined a few of them..
My driveway is a mess. It's supposed to be plowed early morning. When is Spring????

Susan,  How wonderful!!  Hope you will be very happy...

I've chosen not to go to Raleigh. I have too many  travel plans I've committed to for the Spring and early summer and   need to budget so that I can  go to several concerts when he does tour hopefully this summer. However, I hear how excited everyone is and how your plans are coming together and hope you all have an amazing time. 'Will definitely need reports!!

I've given up arguing with my kids about money matters;  over the past year I've learned it's  best to pick and choose our battles with our adult children!  Smile   It's their life, and they have to learn from their own mistakes, right???  Smile

MORNING.

THEA---BARRY AND I HAD THIS DISCUSSION LAST NIGHT.  WE ARE GOING TO THE HOUSE INSPECTION NEXT WEEK.  HE IS TELLING ME ALL THIS STUFF HE PLANS ON TELLING ER AND GABE.  I TOLD HIM TO KEEP HIS MOUTH SHUT.  GENTLY SUGGEST.  WAIT TO BE ASKED.  IT IS A VERY HARD LESSON.  BUT I REMEMBER BEING THEIR AGE AND IF MY PARENTS HAD BUTTED IT, I WOULD HAVE BEEN PISSED.  SO, WE HAVE TO LEARN TO SHUT UP.  IF THEY WANT TO LIVE LIKE A MARRIED COUPLE, THEN THEY HAVE TO DEAL WITH LIFE TOGETHER LIKE A MARRIED COUPLE.

MARLENE--I SAW YOUR PM YESTERDAY.  DIDN'T I ANSWER?  WILL CHECK LATER.

MY PROPERTY IS BEING DUG OUT AS WE SPEAK.  MY BACK IS KILLING ME FROM SHOVELING YESTERDAY AND KEEPING THE GATE CLEAR SO THE GUYS THIS MORNING CAN PLOW FOR THE DOGS.  I AM SOOOOO HATING THIS.  ALL THIS MONEY.  GOTTA CANCEL VALENTINE'S DAY HERE AND NEXT WEEK'S CLEANING LADY.  ANNOYING.

MAYBE TODAY WILL BE THE DAY?

I'll just settle for one when I'm ready to buy in a few years. Laughing

My parents were very good about suggesting I do this or that with my money growing up, but I never listened. Now I wish I had. They laugh when I mention little things they were right about. Probably saying, "I told you so" in their minds. Wink

Fingers Crossed for the home inspection, Gwenn!

GWENN, good luck in zipping your lips when you talk to your 'kids."  It's not easy, but it seems to be working out very well for us.  Phil and I ask a lot of general questions when we talk to them and then wait to see if they want to pursue a certain subject.   An example of this is I never, ever ask the burning questions:  "When I am going to become a grandmother"?  Laughing ; although  I do occasionally tease my sons about turning their former bedrooms into nurseries!  As time goes on, though, it seems they're becoming a little more forthcoming with information.  Wink

I think our kids feel the need to establish their boundaries with us when they are in a committed relationship;  Right, LINDSAY?  Paranoid We've tried very hard to respect those boundaries, but sometimes I get frustrated having to always bite my tongue!  hypnotic

Now please don't think I'm any kind of authority on this subject.  I'm not.  It's touch and go with working within these new parameters.  Just err on the cautious side for now.  Off my soapbox now!

Have to do last-minute packing and then we're off.  I'll try to touch base from our hotel in Minneapolis.  Ah yes, Minneapolis in the middle of the winter.  A tropical paradise!   Laughing

Maybe today is "soon"???   wave MARION, LINDSAY, et al!!!

Sus, congratulations!  Best of luck to both of you.

Congratulations to Erica and Gabe, also!  Looks like we'll be moving together.  The contracts are signed for the sale of my house, and if all goes well, I'll be settling on March 19.  It's going to be a very sad day for me.  But, I have no choice.  I remember when I bought this house 16 years ago.  My Mother said it was a beautiful home, but I should think twice because of the steps (2 stories).  How right she was!  And, I never thought I'd lose my job.....I expected to be there till I died.   Paranoid  Just goes to show, you never know what's around the corner for you in life.

The $8,000 tax credit is great for fist time home buyers.  There is also a $6,500 tax credit for current owners who are moving to another home.   Also not a bad deal.

For all those who plan on attending the PBS concert, good luck with those tickets!  Hope you'll hear something "soon".   Wink

I HATE WINTER!!!!  Thankfully, Carl has already been here and plowed.  What would I do without my angels?!?!?!   Angel

Just doing a last-minute check in....MICKI, this is wonderful news, although I know you are feeling torn.  My mother always warned Phil and me about buying homes with lots of steps, and like you all I can say is "How right she was"!

As to the $6,500 tax credit, I was totally unaware of that.  Thanks for the info, and I will definitely pass this onto my sons.

Now I'm off to the races!!!     Everybody, stay safe and warm!

MICKI--I CAN SO IMAGINE HOW YOU FEEL.  MY PARENTS WERE SO DEPRESSED WHEN THEY HAD TO SELL THEIR HOME BECAUSE OF THE STEPS.  BUT, THANK GOD YOU HAVE A WONDERFUL PLACE TO BE.  THE JOB WAS THE WORST.  AGAIN, THE BEST LAID PLANS OF MICE AND MEN........   MAN PLANS AND GOD LAUGHS.

THEA--I THOUGHT YOU KNEW ABOUT THE $6500.  MY FRIEND'S DAUGHTER IS TAKING ADVANTAGE OF IT.  ANYWAY, HAVE A GOOD TIME.

GLORY--WE ARE SO SNOWED IN I FEEL LIKE I AM IN CANADA ALONG WITH SHARON AND COMPANY.  I HATE WINTER.

WE NEED SOME NEWS.  MY FRIDGE IS WORKING.  ER GOT THE HOUSE.  THE PLOWING IS DONE.  NOW, CLAY HAS TO TELL US .

Great news, Micki!!!   It's time for the sun to truly shine on you.  I'm really happy for you.We had 17.5 ins. in my town according to the local news..The trees on my property are damaged badly. Several large limbs are laying precariously across the roof of my garage. I think I need a tree person to come in and trim the half broken limbs and remove the debris. Maybe they can save some of them. I'll call my insurance co.  tomorrow to see if this qualifies as a claim.  That's tomorrow..But today is a really good day. After much much drama my friend went in for surgery today to remove a mass on her ovaries.. She is a breast cancer survivor and we thought for sure she was in real trouble...I just went to see her and the doctor told me she's ok..no sign of cancer... She got a pass... How amazing...Brand new granddaughter living in Calif. She booked a flight next month for her  1st birthday. On the heels of Gwenn's story we see the paradoxes  and drama of life...Both tell you to live your life well...

Really can't wait for Clay's glorious music  and a chance for me to experience it again.

WELL, THE BEAT GOES ON HERE.  THE DOCTOR SAID BARRY NEEDS SPINAL SURGERY.  NEEDS TO TAKE OUT A 6 INCH LONG SLIVER OF BONE TO RELIEVE THE STENOSIS.  OTHERWISE, HE WILL HAVE PAIN IN HIS LEGS FOR THE REST OF HIS  LIFE.  I AM SCARED TO DEATH.  I WANT TO GET A SECOND OPINION.  IF THE SECOND DOCTOR SAYS THE SAME THING, THEN WE HAVE TO DO IT.  SO, WE ARE TENTATIVELY SCHEDULED FOR MAY 10.  RIGHT AFTER WE GET BACK FROM HAWAII.  HE CAN UP HIS PAIN MEDS WHILE WE ARE THERE.  THEN THE SURGERY.  OMG.  LIFE IS SO COMPLICATED.

BUT HE SHOULD BE FINE FOR THE SUMMER TOUR WE ARE EXPECTING. bigsmile bigsmile bigsmile
