Checking in on everyone dealing with the snow.

I know I haven't been around lately but my computer just kicked the bucket after 10 years.

AND excuse me but I had to share my happy dance.

I'm moving in with Bruce in March. YAY

AND I just got a call from the store that they're closing at 2 pm today so not to worry about coming in since I was supposed to work from 1:30 - 10:00 tonight.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOO SNOW DAY!

Feel better Glory!

Hugs

Miss you all  Purple Banana Huggles

Suze,

Congratulations on your upcoming, new roommate situation! I hope it's just the start of many years of blanket-hogging and thermostat arguments for you guys! :heartburst

I no longer post here but I did get the email about CM needing money for the server so I just donated. CM is one of the boards from the early days and it would be a shame to see it fold.

lmao Me too!  Huggles  But the heck with CV.   Claymaniacs can have their own traditions, right?  So I say "Banana bread will bring on Clay news"!  SO BE IT!!!

But if it IS banana bread, then it has to be made with whole wheat flour!  Although mine ended up not rising as much as it does with the white flour.   But it's dayum good, if I do say so myself!!!!

I MADE MINE ALSO BUT HAVEN'T TASTED IT YET.  MINE IS WITH WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR AND IT ROSE FINE.  HM.

I WENT OUT TO SHOVEL FOR THE DOGS AGAIN.  OMG, I AM WAY TOO OLD FOR ALL THIS SNOW.  MY YARD MUST HAVE OVER 6 FT.

ER AND GABE GOT THE HOUSE!!!!!!!!  I AM HAPPY FOR THEM.  WOULD PREFER THE RING FIRST, BUT ALL OF HER FRIENDS ARE DOING THE SAME THING TO GET THAT $8000 AND THE INCREDIBLE MORTGAGE RATE.  INSPECTION N EXT WEEK AFTER THEY GET BACK FROM MARDI GRAS.  NOT A BAD WAY TO LIVE.  I AM HAPPY FOR THEM.  AS LONG AS THERE ARE NO BABIES UNTIL THE WEDDING, I CAN LIVE.  SHE ASSURES ME NOT TO WORRY.

WHERE IS THIS NEWS ALREADY?

Not Worthy  Maybe I added too many chopped walnuts?  I added a cup more than usual.  Oh well.

Congrats to ER and Gabe on the house!   Clapping

Nope, GLORY.  I have a feeling the banana bread will brings us some news.  Even FRANKIE on the OCD made banana  bread.

SUZY,  glad to hear that you're so happy!   Huggles

NO.  THIS HOUSE IS MOVE IN READY.  ADORABLE.  SMALLER.  NEW KITCHEN.  NEW BATHROOM AND POWDER ROOM.  NEW CARPET AND PAINTED. NICE SUN ROOM AND FENCED YARD.  A LITTLE FURTHER DRIVE TO ME AND TO WORK, BUT WORTH IT.  HOUSE WAS CHEAPER ALSO.

SHARON---IT IS THE FIRST TIME HOME BUYERS INCENTIVE.  AND THEY GOT 5.25% 30 YEAR FIXED RATE.  WITH ONLY 5% DOWN.  IT IS AN OFFER THEY COULDN'T REFUSE.  IT WILL COST EACH OF THEM ABOUT $300 MORE THAN THEY PAY RENT.  AND THEY GET TAX DEDUCTIONS.  SO, AS MUCH AS I THINK IT IS BACKWARDS, I UNDERSTAND WHY THEY DID THIS.  LET'S JUST HOPE IT ALL GOES WELL FROM HERE.

Excellent, GWENN!  It's always interesting to see how things end up working out in the end.  It sounds as if they're buying a house with fewer problems and headaches up the road!  Clapping

I wish my Chicago son and DIL were eligible for the same incentive as Er and Gabe;  unfortunately we had strongly encouraged him to buy his condo 2 years ago before the big $8,000 incentive. (it's only for 1st time buyers!  )  As a result, they aren't eligible for this money if they want to sell this condo and move into something bigger.   So....they've decided that when and if they get pregnant they will sell their current condo (it's waaaayyyyy to small for a family)  and simply rent for a few years.  I wish they weren't so stubborn about staying in the city of Chicago, as the price of homes within the city limits are ridiculously high.   Hopefully up the road they'll see how stupid they are being by not considering a move to the suburbs.   But what do parents know?   Laughing

I've given up arguing with my kids about money matters;  over the past year I've learned it's  best to pick and choose our battles with our adult children!  Smile   It's their life, and they have to learn from their own mistakes, right???  Smile
