Good Afternoon!

We did go out and take more snow pictures.  I will post them soon!  So beware!! Laughing   I took a ruler out with me to measure the snow in several places.  We got from 7 to 8 inches of snow!!  I did stick the ruler in snow where there is Asian Jasmine, and the ruler almost disappeared!  shock  The dogs stomped around in it with us.  I was surprised that as deep as it was my feet did not get wet, and I did not have on boots;  just regular lace up SAS shoes!!

I called JoAnn's number and there was no answer;  called twice.  Then I called her cell phone and she answered.  THEY DON'T HAVE ELECTRICITY!  But their good neighbor a couple of doors down, does have electricity, so they will go there it the electricity is out much longer.   The neighbor's electricity was out the other day, when JoAnn's was still on, so perplexing!!
JoAnn said she was concerned about having enough oxygen bottles for Jennie without the electricity, but they had a delivery today!

Sharon,
JoAnn says, "Hi!"   You got here before her today!!  I know she will post when she can.

Before I turn around, it seems like it's time to fix another meal!! Laughing  For breakfast we had English muffins with egg and turkey bacon, orange juice and, of course, hot chocolate.  I asked Skip if he wanted breakfast on the gazebo!!   lmao  Actually, inside the gazebo is fairly dry, but the thermometer this morning read 39 degrees!

I hope you all are staying warm and enjoying your day!

I just got home! The other members of the card group were all having a snow day off from work, so Lewis drove me over to play cards!  Laughing He went to the office for a while, and picked me up on his way home.

Betty -  Purple Banana that the ticket announcement has been made. I will make sure my Ticketmaster Account is updated. I will try my best for a ticket for you.

Prissy - thank you for the email about Drew Brees on Oprah! We watched it while palying cards, and I have it recorded for Lewis to watch. Hope JoAnn gets the power back on soon.

Lewis found a Super Bowl victory shirt for Cameron at Walmart  Clapping Clapping (The stores here are finally restocking after being sold out!) We will give him some money in addition to that.

Pepe - I've cooked some broccoli/cheese soup for Lewis - and I added a bag of frozen broccoli and cauliflower to it. I'm about to go see what else I can find to cook!

We are going to have a "Friday Night Lights" marathon tonight. We have recorded the last 4 shows, but haven't had time to watch them.

Have a great evening, everyone - I will check in with all of you later.

FRANKIE, that sounds so good broccoli/cheese soup and sit and watch movies or your programs you have taped all nice and warm in the house.  I bet the puppies hope that snow will be gone by morning.   Laughing  I know Alli hates the cold weather she is a warm weather dog for sure.  Sure loved the pictures what a nice view from your bedroom.

What in the world is going on with Clays performance tickets.  Doesn't sound like he is getting any better management than he had before.  This on again and off again has to be getting old with the fans he still has left.  Why do they  think his fans will buy  tickets for something they don't have any idea what it is.  I should hope they would think Clay's fans are smarter than that.  A lot are going but I notice many more aren't.

So sorry to hear that JOANN lost power.  I was worried about Jennie's oxygen so was glad to hear they had a delivery.  I have 8 portable oxygen tanks and two huge oxygen tanks I can use if i need to.  Also I have a oxygen making machine that I  use when the power is on. that one I use at night as it runs my electric bill so high.

PRISSY thanks for letting  us know about Joann and they will go down to their neighbors.  Lets hope the neighbors keep their power.  That is why it is great to have that fireplace working if it is needed for heat.  I know I have slept in front of one many  a times when power was lost in the winter.

Betty - I printed the message from the fan club. I am so glad that your friends may be buying all of your tickets together - it will be so much fun if you can all sit together. I hope it works out for you - traveling with others is also much more fun than traveling alone. I will be glad to be on emergency standby for the tickets, in case of a power outage or something else happening!

Pepe - looks like the fan club is doing something for members, for once. Fan Club members are going to be able to buy tickets a day ahead of time for the March taping - and only two at a time. Hopefully, that will help keep scalpers down some. Jack and Tuffy seemed to like playing in the snow once they got out in it - that shocked us, because they both dislike rain!

We are going down early tomorrow to take Cameron out to lunch for his birthday. Sunday he is going to be in a Mardi Gras parade (his Godmother is a member of a Crew). He will have fun riding on a float and throwing beads! We were invited to go out to eat tomorrow night for Valentines Day, too, but PaPaw does not enjoy being in Valentines crowds  doh

I'm saying an early Good Night  - Going to watch some of the Olympics opening ceremony, then our show - have sweet dreams, everyone.

SHARON thanks so much for the hot chocolate, tastes so good this morning.  Hope you buy lots of goodies at market today.

PRISSY, JOANN sure hope your power is on.  I am thinking of all of you this morning.

GOOD MORNING!

When I looked out, I saw that we still have a blanket of snow.  Not quite as deep, but we did not have much of a meltdown yesterday.  We have not left the house for three days now.  Luckily, we still have our electricity and plenty of food.  The violin gate on the driveway had snow piled against it and did not open, but I think we will get out this afternoon.  If we had more sunshine and higher temperatures, I think the snow would melt.

I don't know if JoAnn has her electricity back or not.  The fact that she has not posted yet makes me think, not!

I had complained about the tree trimmers butchering the trees on our street to keep them away from electrical and telephone wires, but now I see how important that is.  So many in this area that received all the snow are without power.  On the news, ONCORE said that they had brought in workers from other states to help get power back on.

Sharon,
Thanks for the hot chocolate and breakfast.  Have a good day at market!

Pepe,
Luckily, we still have our power on!  I know that many do not.  I will check with JoAnn a little later and see how they are doing.
We are glad we moved the big TV off of the fireplace hearth.  If we ever need the fireplace, it is ready with its gas logs!  We heard on the news that many in North Texas without electricity have closed off their other rooms and are staying in the room with their fireplace!!

Meesa,
I do remember those TV Guide covers with Clay!  I had them as my Avatar for a long time!

Frankie,
Did you watch all four of the shows you had recorded last night?  We watched most of the opening of the Olympics on NBC, and then I watched THE NANNY Valentine marathon on TV Land.   Still love those shows with Fran Drescher!!

ANGELA
When I heard there was snow in Boston.  I thought of you and wondered if Tony was out with that snow plow!!  HAPPY VALENTINE'S WEEKEND to you, too!

Hello to all checking in and/or reading and have a Super Saturday!  Stay warm!  cold  Hug  :heartburst

         Pepe,
I think this particular concert was out of Clay"s hands.

The Marriott Hotel is sold out and two of the hotels mentioned
are heavily booked, so there are plenty of crazy fans like me!!

The receptionist said they could"nt understand the heavy bookings
they had no idea what was going on at the Marriott.

                          Hope you are feeling better.

BETTY, you are never crazy just very devoted and I admire that!!!!

GLORY, hope you are going to get to go and see Clay.  I think it would be good for you to take a little trip.  Hopefully the weather will be decent.

Going to go and watch the olympics at 2:00 this afternoon I love to watch the winter sports.  I pray that no one else is injured during the games.   PRISSY glad to see you checking in.  Me I ate to much lunch again.  I just think I am supposed to eat till I am full and that is not good.

I hope everyone has had a fun Saturday. When we left to see the kids, we still had snow - when we headed back home it was 53 degrees, most of the snow had melted, and we grabbed the dogs and went to the track to walk (did not even wear jackets!) That is Louisiana weather for you!  Laughing

We did take Cameron out to lunch - we met half way - a one hour drive.

Pepe - we ate at a steak house/buffet place called Ryans that Cameron likes. As with most 14 year old boys, he is never full, so at this restaurant you can go back to the different buffets as much as you want. I had a baked chicken breast, green beans, baby carrots, turnip greens, and a green salad - just vegetables and fat free ranch dressing. For dessert I had melon and fresh pineapple cubes. Water to drink. I am stuffed!!!!! I was too busy eating and talking to the kids to notice what everyone else was having  Laughing There were several buffets with differnt types of food - pizza bar, Mexican food bar, etc.

Cameron and Laney gave me roses for Valentines day (one long stem bloom from each of them) - my favorite - red and yellow combined in one bloom. They are a little different from the rose bush I have with these colors, so I am going to try my grandmother's trick of rooting  the rose blooms when they are almost finished blooming.

The only bad thing about today was that I had to miss the Childrens' Mardi Gras parade with Kaitlyn. I wish they could have come to eat with us, too.

Sharon - hope you are finding beautiful things at market - wish I could go with you!

Betty - Lewis' newspaper articles came today!  He appreciates them so much - it has been fun to see the different headlines about the game - so far, there have not been any 2 alike!

Meesa - I remember being so happy when Clay was on those covers. He has not been on the Cover of TV Guide since they changed to the larger cover - maybe "soon".

ANGELA - hope you have a great Valentines weekend, too. We are going to stay home tomorrow and grill steaks out.

Prissy - We watched only one episode of Friday Night Lights, because we got interested in the Olympics. We will probably watch the Olympics tonight, too - we will catch up on our show some day!  Laughing

Bet JoAnn is still without power. I saw last night that there were still 9,000 people without power in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Hopefully they will have it repaired soon.

Have a good evening, everyone - I will check in on you all later................

Good Afternoon!

We did go out this afternoon.  We went to Lowe's and Home Depot, and also Central Market where we bought a few things including smoked paprika and other spices and apple cider vinegar for the sloppy joe recipe in the Food Network magazine this month.  Page 117, I believe.  We may make it tonight or tomorrow.

I guess because this is the day before Valentine's Day, Central Market had  many samples of chocolate being passed out.  Not only candy, but a chocolate coffee and a chocolate beer, which I did try.  Wink

After Central Market, we stopped at a Braums in that area for milk, bread, and eggs, and while there, we went ahead and had lunch:  Braum's burger and a shake!

I did talk to JoAnn when we returned.  STILL NO ELECTRICITY!  eek!   She said they are hoping it will be back on soon.  They are spending time at the neighbor's house who has electricity.

I have more snow pictures from yesterday to upload into photobucket, so more snow pictures soon!!  icon_eek

Frankie,
It sounds like you had a good day!   I know about Ryan's. We have them here and I have eaten there.  A lot like Golden Corral, in that you can eat all kinds of food and never stop.  You were very good in your choices.  I think I may have had to have had some kind of CHOCOLATE dessert!! Wink

Pepe,
You and I would have a good time at a place like Ryan's or Golden Coral.  What we should do is not eat the day before, then go in and just eat and eat until someone says it's time to stop!!   lmao  Probably that would be Don and Skip!! Laughing    We are lucky to have our power.  I hope JoAnn and Jennie have there's soon.  Tomorrow is Sunday, so ???   hopefully the power company will still have crews working.

Betty,
Is Shirl planning on this trip to see Clay, too?  I know you will have a good time!!

Here I am sampling chocolates today at Central Market!! Wink :heartburst  Kiss!

I hope you all are having a good day!

Lewis is watching a Memphis basketball game in the bedroom, and I am sort of listening to the news/Olympics coverage while getting some computer work done.

Prissy - he is mourning the fact that there will be no football tomorow - I told him to call you and talk to somebody who cares!  lmao Valentines Day is hard on those of us sworn off desserts! I filled heart shaped baskets of goodies for the grandchildren and Lewis, and somehow managed not to eat any chocolate - if I had started, I would never have stopped!  I love chocolate Glad you got lots of samples, though! Chocolate Beer????  Paranoid

Glory - I know you have good reasons to fear this test, but do you think it would have been ordered if it was not needed? I guess it comes down to trusting your doctor. If you don't, maybe you should get a second opinion.

Off to read a little - see all of you later............................

Hello Everyone!

It's me, JoAnn.  I know you may "think" I'm Prissy but I just using her computer!   Mom, Sammy and I "invited" ourselves to spend the night at Prissy and Skips!  We still don't have any electricity.  We are one household of over 200,000 that lost power here.  Mom, Sammy and I ended up having eleven different layers of cover on the bed and still ended up freezing!
Our next door neighbor is going to watch our house tonight.  He doesn't have power either but at least his fireplace is working.  The snow has mostly melted away today and the streets are ok, just no power.  Hopefully tomorrow will be the day it comes back.

Frankie----Thank you for the Good Housekeeping article!  I got it today and can't wait to go to the web site.

Sharon------Good morning and good evening to you. Can't wait to see you at the regular time when I get back on the computer!

Pepe----Hope you're feeling better today.

Hope to"see" everyone soon.

Hello,  this is me, Prissy!

It's going to be like a slumber party!!  I wish that you all were here with us!  JoAnn and Jennie are going to sleep in our guest room that has its own bath.  Skip and I did some "moving" around of "stuff" that somehow found its way in there!! shock

Anyway,  we will probably play games and watch TV and snack!!  The three dogs are getting along well.  Sammy probably doesn't know what to think; the people look the same, but the rooms are different!! Laughing

 Prissy,

I bet you enjoyed sampling the chocolate at the store, now you have to
wait till next Valentines for more.

Say Hello to JoAnne for me, I hope they get their electricity back soon. I
don"t think we appreciate power until we lose it.

Shirl. is not going to Raleigh this time, she is going to wait until Clay tours
in the summer. It"s a very long journey from Cal. and expensive too.
