Good Morning!

Like JoAnn and Frankie,  we are having SNOW here!  Beautiful outside and when it stops snowing, I want to go out and get some pictures!  I have a picture of snow on my violin gate wreath with valentines from several years ago.  I will get new pictures today!!

The quartet decided NOT to go and perform at the Whitlock Club today.  As far as we know, the Woman's Club is open, but each of us didn't want to take a chance on driving and getting possibly in an accident.

We will make a decision about the Pond Club a little later today in the afternoon.  I am guessing that we will cancel our meeting.  It begins at 7 and goes to about 9 PM and the roads could start to get slick as it gets colder!! cold

EDIT:  I JUST GOT A CALL THAT THE BOTANIC GARDENS BUILDING IS CLOSED TODAY,  SO NO POND CLUB MEETING THIS EVENING!!  I did make my cupcakes, but did not frost them yet.  I will freeze them and frost them on Saturday and take them to Sunday School for our Valentine's Brunch!!

I just heard on the news we may get as much as 7 inches of snow!! shock   For our area, that is really a lot of snow!

Pepe,
I love to read what all everyone is doing or where they are going and what they are interested in.  I've always considered the OCD a place where we share  our thoughts and ideas.  I know you feel that way, too.   No one expects any "applause" here!
I'm sorry to hear you had a bad night.  I hope you feel better today.
I have had the fingerling potatoes before.  They are small, about 3 inches long and not very wide.  I did not know there were "purple" fingerling potatoes.  I commented to Skip that TCU ( my Alma mater with PURPLE as their color) should serve these in their campus cafeteria!!

Betty,
Did you see what I said about the fingerling potatoes in my post to Pepe?  The sauce for the pork tenderloin (raspberry chipotle) is often served with cream cheese as a spread with crackers.  Very good!!

Frankie,
I hope you get some snow pictures today!!  I plan to go out when there is a break in the snow, if there is one, and get some pictures.

Sharon,
Thanks for breakfast!

Hello to all checking in and/or reading and have a Terrific Thursday.  Stay, warm and enjoy the snow!! cold

Here are my Valentine snow pictures from 2003 or 2004!   I will have  new pictures later!
   :heartburst

Good afternoon,

My neighbor  and I had a wonderful 45 minute walk in the neighborhood this morning.  The snow made everything look so beautiful.  I had my neighbor take this photo of me  as we left for our walk.  I'm standing in our front yard.  This my "crazy" hat from Peru.  It sure was warm.
Now, I'm off to help Mom clean the house for awhile.

I thought I'd show you Sammy in his first snow!  He is still trying to figure out what all this white stuff is.

Good morning…

JOANN, you look marvelous and Sammy is simply handsome. What a beautiful scene but seeing that white stuff and all the blizzards in the news makes me feel even colder. Thanks for sharing those photos with us.

PRISSY, I always love your yard and your gate especially in the snow. BTW, I have a recipe that calls for fingerling potatoes; I don’t have a clue what they are but will look for it at the grocery store.

Off to do some cleaning and who knows what I’ll get into today…Special  wave to everyone checking in.

PRISSY, I have seen the figerling potatoes in the different colors.  Usually they sell them in a little mesh bag here in the different colors.  Did they leave the skin on the potatoes?  I am afraid I would have to spoil it and peel them, not crazy about potato skin I like everything blemish free!!!!!  Heck I even peel my fresh mushrooms so they are pure white as snow!!!!!!!!

FRANKIE, my soup tastes good other than I think I put to much thyme in it also the soup recipe called for oregano and that spice for some reason always seems to strong for my taste.  Seems since I don't smoke the flavors of foods and spices are so much more intense.

Now for some wonderful news!!!*********  My son in Arizona is coming home for ten days to see his mama!!!!!  Last night I was thinking of him as I was supposed to be sleeping and started crying as I was thinking of him leaving already and he hasn't even got here yet.     I tried to get him to wait till spring but he said he needed to come home now.  Hopefully things will get some better this spring so he can try and start his Air Conditioning/Heating business again.  Mark is so special to me, one of the nicest kindest human beings I have ever met, and that is not because he is my son.  My dear daughter in law is more than special to me.  She is ill and will not be able to make the trip.  A good friend will be staying with her and their two West Highland terriers to keep her company and to take her to the doctors when she needs to go.  Mark will be coming next Tuesday.  It is killing me as I can not be cooking or baking for him like I always did.  It has been six long  years since we have seen Mark.  My son Donnie who lives here is going to drive to detroit  to pick Mark up that will be almost a four hour drive one way I just hope the weather cooperates while he is here.

     Prissy,
Please don"t stop telling us all about your activities, I love to read them.

It"s wonderful that you and others are so kind and helpfull to   people
who are less fortunate than us. As  the saying goes  "There but for the
grace of God ,go I".  We know you are not looking for applause and
everyone handles things in there own way.

I have never heard of fingerling pototoes, they must be a regional
thing. Still don"t know what funeral potatoes are??

Love the snow pictures but I"m glad I don"t have to drive in it.

       JoAnne,
Great pictures of you and Sammy in the snow. I think he will enjoy it when
he gets used to it. When we lived in North Dakota our dog loved to play in
                               it.

What a beautiful dog he is.

I know what you mean about taking him to the Senior  Residences, Sophie
would be on their beds  licking all their faces.

      Lolita,
Your jokes are hilairious, I had a good laugh and tried to remember them
                  to tell my friend.

Don"t worry too much about your MIl and dementia.   My Mother suffered from it and
died at a  fairly young age. Here I am nearly 86 and so far, so good. I just don"t worry
about it. I agree it is    very hard on loved ones around seeing parents slipping away.

Good Afternoon!

It is still SNOWING and will snow well into the night!  Now, they are saying we may have up to 8 inches!! shock   Skip and I both went out and took some pictures.  I was afraid to walk out in the street and take a picture;  thought I might fall, so I just took pictures from the porch and sidewalk.  Skip walked out in the backyard and into the woods taking pictures!

I had a call a few hours ago from the Meals on Wheels office.  No meals delivered tomorrow morning.  They are already anticipating the roads will be icy from all this snow!

Pepe,
How wonderful that your son will come and stay with you!  Don't worry about cooking!  I am sure he will be happy just to see you and Don!  Maybe he and Don can do the cooking! Wink

Betty,
I will look up information about the fingerling potatoes and post it later today.  They are just really small potatoes.  I could eat one in about three bites!

JoAnn,
Great snow pictures.  Shadow and Sandy have been out in the snow, but I don't think they like it very much!!

Here are some pictures we just downloaded.   Here is Scarlet, the little dog Skip found on our street and her owners came for her.

     Pepe,
How wonderful your son is coming to see you. Don"t be upset about
him leaving ,think with joy about his coming.

It"s . a shame his wife is   ill and can"t come with him.

Two of my favourite  dogs were two West Highland terriers, Scottie and Heather
When my daughter rescued the Doberman ,"Dizzy " ..named because he ran around in circles,
they got along fine. The only thing  Heather was very possesive of me and when she was on my lap
she would snap at Dizzy if he came close. He just accepted it and backed off. He was so sweet.

Dudley--- wave

Lolita, Betty, Prissy, Sharon and Dudley--Thank you for you comments about the pictures.  Sammy has made a quick recovery from being afraid.  "ALL IT TOOK" WAS HIS 4 DOG FRIENDS "CALLING" HIM OUT TO THE BACK FENCE! lmao
He was so excited to go play with them, he forgot all about the"mysterious" white stuff coming down on him. lmao  Now, he wants to go out about every 5 minutes to go run!!!!

It is still coming down solid and heavy after at least 13 hours of non stop.  They said that it started about 3 this morning.  the only bad thing about it. ... MY DISHNETWORK HAS BEEN OFF LINE SINCE ABOUT 11:00 THIS MORNING!   All our tvs. are on it, so we have not be able to watch any weather forecast, warnings , etc.  I'm going to email this company this afternoon and "suggest" that they should take a day's cost off my next bill! bigsmile

We have a darling little private lake in our neighborhood that is about a fourth of a mile from my house.  We use it as a marker while walking.  This is a photo I took of it on this morning's walk.  It usually has several wild ducks swimming on it but didn't see any this morning.

      Sharon,
This is a very weird winter, I think the snowman has lost his map and
is mixing up the States and countries. Here in Florida it has been the longest cold spell
                           I ever have seen.

Is it time for apple crisps and whipped cream again???

Sorry about all the mishaps with things spilling on the jewelry, did they get very damaged??

Betty, the jewellery is fine thank goodness, it was quite a sum of money I would have lost had I not gotten the rings all dried off right away icon_eek
I agree that Mr. snowman is mixing things up, very strange indeed.
JoAnn and Prissy, the snow pictures are just unbelievable, seems so surreal hypnotic
